Well normally am pleased with Republic. One ongoing issue I have is that they still charge you even if they don't pick up. Rarely miss a pick up but sometimes they do and its a crap shoot if they come back to complete. Now that a strike is on... they still charge but will be weeks of no pickups and their online portal has no way to send them an email question about whether they will credit us back for no pick ups etc... read more

Service is bad. The old guy that takes our compost does not know that there are composable forks and spoon and he is saying there's not when it is clearly labeled. Update: I responded to Customercarerequest@republicservies.com and got a thoughtful response with apologies. The following garbage pickup went normal ,empty bins in front of the property they came from. The very next week, the lazy drivers doubled down with more empty bins blocking my front yard. I tried to email Customercarerequest@republicservies.com, as the email requested, but this time they didn't care so much. So here's more update. I followed Republic Service's guideline (see their response to my original review) and contacted their customer service with the exact information they asked me to provide. Rather than proactively contacting me and resolve a customer dissatisfaction, they indicated they needed me to send them more info to "further assist" me. I don't think RS's customer service understand why people give a single star review on Yelp. For labor day weekend they advertised one calendar and the trucks came on the regularly scheduled day with no warning/update. I have spent the past 3 weeks trying to get my recycling collected. I have called every day and am told they are coming the next day and to place any additional items next to the bin and they will be collected free of charge... They final came yesterday as it was the next scheduled day for pickup, however the 'extra' items were left thrown across the street. When I called to complain I was told someone would come back that day 9/21, then today 9/22 and now when I called to confirm today's pick up I'm being told it will be tomorrow... I also keep being told I will receive a credit to my account for the inconvenience however no one is able to put that in writing or provide confirmation of this so I doubt it will happen. The only reason Republic Services has 1 star is because there is no option for zero. The company's service are just really really bad. In Sammamish we pay close to $200 per quarter, and the driver does not even take the recycle boxes placed near the bins. Additionally, calling Republic Services support team is just a useless call that leads to nothing. Nothing works with this company. How is this company still in business and why are they still getting contracts? Updated: It's been over a week since Republic Services promised to call me back within 48 business hours. Despite their promise, I haven't received a follow-up call. The only response I've gotten was on this public message board, suggesting that they're only addressing the issue due to public image concerns. Addendum to post on 7/3/2024. I had a 36" TV that I couldn't get to work properly. Called Rebanco and arranged for their driver to pick it up. I clearly labeled the TV for Rebanco aka Waste Management. That was on a Tuesday. Wednesday is pick up day. I can see the garbage containers from my house. The TV was gone before Rebanco did their normal pickup. Of course when the Rebanco guy arrived he couldn't find the TV, I have my suspicions who took the TV and it wasn't Rebanco. I should have known and had the Rebanco guy come up to my house and get the TV. This isn't the first time this sort of thing happened. read more

Following a series of failures to pick up in accordance with their published schedule I canceled their service. My cancelation notice was presented during a period of time when I had prepaid. Republic then billed me for a 3 month period after they had picked up their container. BEWARE . Now they refuse to adjust their Fraudulent unearned charges. DON'T LET THEIR RESPONSE FOOL YOU! It's been MONTHS with zero communication from them outside automated ones. The best part though? My city is talking them to court over all the missed pick ups. What a joke of a business. This company is negligent in their responsibilities, lax in their communication (to put it nicely) and the only timing you can count on is that they will NEVER make it when they schedule something with you. I have made upwards of 15 phone calls since May. First was to see about getting my pricing down due to a competing company beating their most recent price increase- I was told by a Jeremiah that he was going to be reducing my quarterly cost to $65! Amazing! What he neglected to tell me was that this was their "rope you in," pricing for new customers and had essentially made it look like I was a new customer without actually bringing me new containers. He also forgot to cancel my existing service making it look like I had TWO on the books with them. I spent 4 calls after that trying to get them to honor the price or at least reduce to the competing company, each time being spun a new tale and line for why what the last rep said wasn't possible/couldn't be honored. At one point I was charged over $200 for a QUARTERLY SERVICE! absolutely insane! I am thankful that the $70 overcharge wasn't the difference between groceries for us that week; but others may not be as privileged. When I called back to get it corrected I was told they could prorate it and send me the overage by issuing a refund to my card but that I had to call back once the account was reflecting the updated balance. I called back to request that be processed and was told, "Oh, no, that can't be done at all." They mentioned a check could be cut but it would cause billing issues as it wasn't a true credit so I was persuaded not to go that route. A week later a check comes in the mail for the overage?! As if those issues weren't enough, they are consistently a day late picking up your trash. No voicemail, emails, calls or account notifications to let you know of the latency either. They also will take FOREVER to pick up a container and replace with a new one, should your lid become damaged from the truck banging it to release contents. But don't worry, they also don't care about getting them back from you when you cancel either so you could probably squeeze an extra week or two of trash without them realizing! BONUS! Currently, my receptacles have been out by my driveway for seven days. I was told to put them out the evening of 8/8 for morning pick up on 8/9. 8/9 rolls around and they were never picked back up. I called 8/10 and was told they would be coming that day to leave the containers out and do not move them for risk of the vendors not seeing them. Shocker, that never happened. Repeat that process for 8/11, 8/12 and 8/13 (yes, they supposedly pick up on Saturdays). Each time I was told the problem was escalated and that should the pick up be delayed again I would receive a phone call- crickets. Here we are now 8/15 and I am being told they'll be picked up today, again. I am not holding my breath. Should I receive a fine from my HOA or city for having the receptacles out for over 48hrs I will be sending it to their headquarters. They also do not have any phone numbers for managers or the vendors to provide so it's on you, the customer, to make sure THEIR property is still scheduled to be picked up. At this point, as my sign says, my toddler could have walked them to the office. Oh, but take solace in knowing this isn't just a regional issue! Because this is nation wide practice for them! My BIL in GA had the exact same issues with them and had to call headquarters to actually get the bins picked up. I would give them zero stars if I could. Republic Services has the worst customer service. Whoever answers the phone after at least 20 rings can not give an answer or promise what they can not deliver. I called for a yard waste bin to be replaced because the wheels fall off when rolled to the curb. I was promised on Sept 20, that they would replace the bin on my next pickup which was the 19th. Well, as usual, they did not pick it up and when I called they said to bring it back out on my next pick-up day. As I informed them that the wheels fall off and I just had knee surgery and it is hard for me to do it. They said someone would call me back Well as usual no one has called me or answered my complaint on their website. So I do not know when or if they will replace it. I wish the city would get rid of them and get better service as their prices do not warrant the terrible customer service. Im not typically one to leave reviews like this but my experience over the past year with Republic has been an extreme headache. I had recently moved and started a new job so I was hopeful that trash removal would be something I wouldn't need to think about. I signed up for their weekly trash pickup. In the beginning I thought the missed trash pickups were just errors because we were a new customer but I was wrong. After reporting several missed pickups and calling, our trash continued to pile up for several weeks. I noticed our neighbors trash was picked up by another company on Tuesdays (our day was supposed to be Thursday) so I started putting out the trash Monday night. The other company must of started picking ours up too because it finally was gone week after week. This was short lived though, eventually our trash started to pile again as no one was picking it up at any point of the week. Once I started reporting missed pickups and calling again, I was constantly told the pickups would happen by 5pm or were delayed a day, or to wait for the following Monday. Multiple representatives were short and rude over the phone. I had one call eventually that lead to the representative sending my information to her manager and also scheduled the first ever pickup from Republic (about 6-8 months into being a customer). The manager called me on a Friday shortly after 5 and as I answered, he hung up. I tried to call back but was hung up on again. Now almost a year into service, I called to have service ended and was once again given the run around by the call rep. She told me to wait until Monday for a special scheduled pickup. I refused. At this point I have paid hundreds of dollars for them to deliver a trash can and charge me monthly for picking up very little trash. I even have had to pay a local person to come pickup trash due to the pile ups. If you want to burn your money and deal with some of the worst customer service in existence, give Republic Services a call. I have had trash collection service with Republic Services for five or six years and for the last year and a half, their service has been very poor. At least five times in the last year they have missed picking up in my neighborhood. Each time I call, they assure that they'll be back out and continue not to show up; one time all the way until the next week's regular pick up day. This is not counting the many times they miss it by one day and then issue a recorded phone call apologizing for the delay and pick it up the next day. In April I canceled service after they missed again and switched to another company. This company sent one of our rental accounts to collection, and I only knew about it because we tried to refinance and this was on our credit report. When I called republic services, the agent kept on saying that the account has never been sent to collection. How did the collection company get our account information? The agent couldn't tell me. Basically, they report us without us knowing about it, they basically told us to deal with collection on our own because it's not their problem. Not sure how to reach a "human being" who cares enough to solve a huge problem that originated from this company. We have call and went online to report missed pick up and voiced our situation over the phone but we get the same response everytime..."we have escalated your situation to dispatch" but nothing gets done. Republic Services is the trash collection service for the city of Bellevue. It was a bit of an adjustment to pay for trash collection as you don't have to pay for this service in Honolulu. Of course, your electric bills are like $500 a month there so free trash collection is the least the city can do to ease the expense of living there. Republic sends out bills on a quarterly basis so the bill is for three months of service. The bill that I receive typically arrives after the first month of service during the quarter. The cost of service depends on the size of the trash bin that you select. You also are provided two other bins for recycling and yard waste that you can also order the size that you want. If you want to save some money on your bill, you should order a bin that is size appropriate for your household and try to get one of the larger recycling bins. As far as bill payment, it is pretty easy. You can send it in via mail or pay on their online site in which they allow for credit card payments without an additional charge, unlike PSE. I have called Republic's customer service a couple times. Once to ask about an additional charge which turned out to be a charge for the removal of an oversized item. And once to replace a bin which for some reason was dumped completely in the trash truck. I felt the customer service was good and my issues were resolved without a follow-up call. Trash collection has been reliable for the most part. Pickup is weekly on a certain day of the week. Thursday in Bellevue. The only instances where it wasn't was during the winter when it snows. If there is emergency weather and it is trash day, trash pickup follows the holiday schedule. It will be picked up on the following day (Friday for Bellevue) or the next day possible if multiple days of trash collection were missed. While I would certainly prefer free trash service like in Hawaii, I have found Republic's service to be dependable and as expected. read more

I called the customer service again and this time spoke with "Ashley". She told me she does not see a refund processed! I was paying quarterly and didn't realize how much it was costing me monthly. Well since the pandemic that occured in 2020 I started to really focus on all the bills I had. I looked and my bills were ranging from 150-almost 200 per quarter. Wow! I started shopping around and Waste Management was a lot cheaper. By a third... only $68 per quarter. Now that's a savings. Well Republic services sent me one last bill for $85. $30 each to pick up their trash cans (waste and recylce)... insane. Plus another $18 in fuel charges. It is winter so, republic can't function. Cancelled today because of "snow and ice." Took out garbage and recycling at 6 am per requirement, as at 6 am, website says they are picking up. 1 in of slush, and raining, 37 degrees. Get above automated phone message at 945, 1/2 slush, raining, 39 degrees. We don't, per the city contract with Republic have any other garbage pick up options. I have two accounts with Republic Services and the St. Louis account has added $100 and more per billing cycle for a Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee whereas my other location has not. Both use the same diesel fuel, both use the same trucks, both locations has the same number of pick ups. When I called, I received mumbo jumbo as a response, to the point it was comical. Garbage was not picked up and I have been calling every day since to br told that it will be picked up the following day.
