COMPANY IS A JOKE! I been a loyal customer for 15 years server was great. the last 6 weeks they missed my pickup 5 times. You call and get lip service rom the call center with the EXCUSE they are short drivers. The supervisor will call back NOT! They have skipped my trash pick up five time of the last six weeks. The kicker is the truck is on the street and only picks up 1/2 the street. the driver shortage excuse does not fly here as the truck is on the street. I would not recommend Republic Services to anyone. I called to start my service with them in March, and they were unable to get me onto the route until April 20. This was inconvenient, but I accepted it. Since April 20 I have had 2 missed pickups. Last week, my recycling was not picked up--keep in mind this is the second time I had put recycling out because it is only picked up every two weeks. I just moved, so you can imagine how many boxes I am trying to recycle--I had to store the rest somewhere else to recycle in two more weeks because they didn't all fit into the bin. I immediately called in a missed pickup and was told that they escalated it to the driver's supervisor and that someone would be back later that day to pick it up. No one was back later that day, so I called again the next day. They told me that they saw in the system that the missed pickup had already been escalated to a supervisor, and there was nothing more they could do but write another escalation and hope that someone would come to pick it up the next day. The next day, a Friday, I called once more and was told that someone would probably be by to pick it up. No one picked it up. I put the recycling out with my regular trash yesterday hoping someone would be by to pick it up when they picked up my trash, and neither was picked up. I have been a customer for less than a month and have missed half of my pickups. I called to cancel my service immediately. I was told that I can't cancel until June 8, and that I should expect a refund by mid June in the form of a check. I will update my review as to whether or not I get a check. Don't ignore the bad reviews, and shop around for a trash service that will do what you are paying for. On the plus side, all of the customer service reps I talked to on the phone were very nice. read more

Republic has provided terrible service for our entire duration with them--which has been less than a year. Our recycle pick up is habitually missed, and when we call to report it--they claim it was never set out. We recycle so much more than we waste, so have an overabundance each month. They refuse to rectify the situation, so we are left hoping one of these weeks they will pick it up. Otherwise, we drive to a drop off location (third party). Why are we paying for a service we are not receiving? We are cancelling our service. In the last 4 years the company has gone downhill. Our dumpster is CONSTANTLY left unlocked and we were told that this would be resolved. It was not and they charged us $1200 over a 2 month period for their mistake. We cannot get a bill sent and they will constantly tell you (if they bother to return a call or answer the phone...which is rare) that it is still your fault (somehow) and these charges will not be removed. They are a SCAM company. We have been with the company for over 19 years and these last 4 have been horrendous. DO NOT START service with them. They will overcharge and scam you every step of the way. We even went out of our way to try to help them resolve their internal issues by paying overage fees and even ordering a larger dumpster (as I said, we have been with them for over 19 years and figured they were having problems and would get it back together). This is honestly the worst company I have had to deal with professionally in over 40 years of business. I do not know how much we have overpaid to them in these years (it has been a LOT) but I will be totaling it up as I intend to take this complaint to authorities that can actually do something about the price gouging but in the meantime...I can do my best to try and warn those who may not know better to run the other way. Simply put... driving your trash to the dump yourself is preferable to using this company...that's how bad they have gotten. read more

I have been a customer of Republic Services for 48 yrs. My pick up day is on Monday. During all of these years, we were allowed to put out up to ten bags of trash and they would pick everything up without a problem and never any extra charges applied on my account. Now, all of sudden I put out seven bags; a number below the ten and they left four of my bags at the curb!! I had called the local Denver office first, and treated extremely rude by their customer service representative. Now I get told that I'm only allowed up to six bags. Since when? I asked this representative, when they made this change as I never received any form of notification by the company. Since, she didn't have a proper answer to give me, I went ahead and attempted to call their Corporate Office in AZ. I had to make several calls to their HDQTRS, because none of the answers were ever the same. One rep even told me that I was only allowed up to three bags in the garbage can! Really? I naturally became more upset because of the inconsistent answers, which I was receiving. I asked to speak with a supervisor to no avail! The reps refused to transfer the call to a manager. During one of the calls, when I asked to speak with a manager the rep tells me she is a manager. Their behavior was completely rude and obnoxious. I even had one rep tell me that since I had called several times that she had notated my account and would now just forward my complaint to a supervisor. As a result, she also refused to transfer my call to a supervisor. I wasn't treated fairly as a long term customer. I should have received some type of notice by at least a notice in my bills, whenever any company makes changes to their policy. This is a common decent courtesy that is usually extended to a customer. This never happened with Republic!! Also, if there truly is a limit of six bags, then why did they not pick up at least three of the other four bags that were left outside of my container on the curb by my large trash can? read more

They have ignored my claim for a ruined trash can that their driver destroyed 4 weeks ago. After 4 weeks they want another $25 after I gave them $108.16 when I started the service plus another $30 to get a can delivered which took 3 weeks. I specifically asked them if there were any other fees like fuel or environmental before taking the service and they said no. I will be canceling my service on Monday and if the trash can tells me anything about their service I fully expect to see them in small claims court to get refunded for the final 2 months of service. Customer beware! This company raises their prices 1-2x per year. Literally any other trash company will be cheaper! I used them for their recycling, but very little is being recycled nowasdays due to low commodity prices and China not accepting it. When you go to cancel, they will charge you for an extra month of service. They will also charge you $50 PER container when you cancel. They'll also charge $10 for Fuel to pick up your containers when you cancel! Save yourself some money, use any other company! read more

This company practices should NOT be LEGAL They charged me extra 111 $ (one hundred eleven $ !!!! think about it) for an office chair box that I set next to the recycle bin. The office chair that came in the box was not worth that much Mind you they missed recyclable pick up a few weeks prior And I pay extra for recyclables In October they charge extra 35$ for 3 small bags of leaves. Every other week they will miss your trash and that's how they do business!! The customer care is WORST! I have called them several times when they miss a trash removal on a scheduled day and tried to schedule another pick up, which never worked. They always have excuses ready like "truck break down in your area", "running late..." etc. So, my trash always pile up and calling customer care to re-schedule a pick up never worked. I have been with Republic Services for a few years and they have been impeccable. I have to admit the cost was a bit high but when I called to ask if they would price match a competitor who hung a flyer on my door, they said they would! They also answered the phone in less than 5 min..that's amazing! Before when I was garbage collection shopping, I sat on the phone with my older company and the newer ones for well over 30 min and had to hang up... I am so grateful for their kind cooperative service..the men outside who pick up our trash are always on time and do a great job as well! Thank you for accommodating me! read more

Due to unforeseen circumstances, your route was missed last week. They are running behind this week and may not be able to recover until Thursday. The miss has been scheduled for tomorrow but misses aren't guaranteed to be recovered. Due to this issue, I will issue credit for the miss last week. I've also asked the team to try and do everything that they can to recover this if possible. Otherwise, it'll be taken on Thursday. Thank you." Today - Thursday 05/23 - still nothing happened. I would give zero stars if I could. We signed up for their trash service, and they failed to pick up our trash FOUR weeks in a row. We had to call each week to tell them they missed us, and yet they still failed to come again and again. We finally cancelled service, and then got a bill for $105 due to the fine print in our contract that says if you cancel mid-billing cycle, you are responsible for the full cycle. I gave specific instructions and provided a phone number for delivery. Tuesday came and went, no dumpster. I called Wednesday to see what's going on, they said I was on the schedule for between 4-5. Wednesday came and went, no dumpster. I called today, Thursday, and found out I was hit with a couldn't deliver fee because it didn't fit in my driveway. Do NOT trust this company for your trash or recycling services! They are extremely unreliable, and often don't come out according to the schedule posted on their own website. They often miss pick up at our house, especially for recycling. When we call to try to get them to come out due to missed service, they try to charge us extra. When we say we got skipped and need a pick up, it takes them several days to get back to our house. Recently, when they finally got back to us, they looked through everything in our recycling bin, dumping it all over the ground in the process. Apparently, there was one thing in there they don't pick up, so they refused to dump the entire bin full of stuff! We don't purposely leave anything in there that we know they don't pick up, but their driver was extremely rude to my husband when he asked about it, and refused to pick up the bin, which was full, and which his truck had dumped over into the street. He tried to tell my husband that they don't take items made of cardboard, plastic and metal. Really?! Those are all recyclable. Regardless, their customer service sucks, and their employees' attitudes suck even worse! After many years with this company, we are going elsewhere. read more

We're always the last block they visit. Pickup went from around 8am to 10am and then for the past couple years I get home from work and the trash is still there, that's around 4pm... They eventually got the trash every Tuesday in the past, sure it was progressively later but now they don't even show up. This company is horrible, they consistently fail to pick up our trash in Arvada after a holiday and if it snows forget getting your trash picked up until your next "scheduled" day. I called to ask for a credit for that week and the rep told me that the driver attempted but the road was impassible so they won't credit my bill. After arguing she said she'd credit my account but after that they won't credit if the driver makes an attempt. Hmmm... other trash companies always make it up our road for trash service. I asked if they could pick it up today and they said no it would be the following week. I'll be shopping for a new service soon... read more

Worst company by far! The City of Commerce City just transferred us from WM (which was an amazing company by the way ) to Republic. Last Monday the 24th they missed our recycle pick up. I called everyday after and they guaranteed it would be picked up. It took a week, the following Monday to get our recycle picked up. The whole block was missed! Horrible service. Hello, Your service is horrible. We were promised excellent service. The first thing your company does is place the container smack down in the middle of a valuable parking spot. We call to complain and we were told LAST MONTH you would have the drivers move back (about 10 feet) out of the parking spot on the next pick up. It doesn't happen; We call again and get the same empty promise that you will have the driver move the container back so we get our parking spot again. Nothing happens. We call again and this time for sure really the driver is going to move it back, I was even told that they may come that day (2 weeks ago) to move back. More calls, more calls repeating the same thing. Customer service reps, supervisors promise to call us back with time the container is going to be moved back 10 ft. Promises of phone calls that do not happen. We have to call day after day. We had a huge event yesterday, a huge charitable event for victims of the Marshall Fire. We needed the parking spot. No return calls and no container moved. Today we called several times and this time for the 1st time a supervisor called back and said at 5:30 PM (Friday night, good grief, this should have been done 2 MONDAY's ago when first called) doesn't matter because once again Republic Services broke their promise and the container is still sitting in the middle of a parking lot. So now all weekend when we need the parking spot the most. I want out of any contract and will gladly pay your competitors for service. They at least know the container does NOT go in the middle of parking spot. I want to know terms of any contract and I want out of the contract, Republic Service has broken their end of any contract. I have had this service for a few years. It is fine. They come and take my trash. But, today, I called to cancel because we signed up with another company. My main reason to change is that Republic has just gotten more and more expensive every year. When I cancelled, I was informed there is a fee to RETURN my trash containers. I am currently laid off from my job I work seasonal I've not been able to pay my Republic service garbage removal fee of $53 because I feel like the roof over my head and the electric and water are more important right now I had a very very nice gentleman this morning who told me I could pay the $53 today and he would take off the $35 reinstatement of my service fee. I just got a call from a very very rude woman called Christina, who told me that absolutely I could not have the $35 fee taken off Because they were cancelling my account I would have to pay the full $88 today. Is it so important to get the $88 and lose a customer that pays for the rest of the year and because she can't afford to have a garbage removed while she's laid off. Absolutely the worst. Had them for less than 2 years and the worst headache to deal with. Constantly getting our pickup dates changed and then missed our pickup 3 times out of 4. We were told 'the driver didn't finish his route. Leave it out there and maybe it will get picked up in a day or two'. This outfit is a bunch of bandits. I canceled my service two weeks prior to the end of the quarter and was told I would have to pay a $35 "Recovery Fee." I left my recycle container out when they said to pick it up, and of course, they didn't. Trying to get ahold of anyone on the phone is a joke, you'll hold for hours. I submitted online per their instruction for new service after 72 hours of no contact after receiving a text and an email stating we will be with you within 24 hours I've spent 2 1/2 hours on hold to be told that I have to give them money upfront in order for them to start service I'm sorryI'm not giving them money upfront for services not rendered I had paid waste management upfront and they missed five pick ups and I'm still waiting for my refund read more
