Absolutely horrible company! Most of the time I had to call to remind them to pick up the trash. We would go 2 to 3 weeks without service. I was also told when I signed up my rate would not change for at least a year. Well that wasn't true. Rate increase and now that I cancelled this service they have the nerve to charge me to pick up their trash can that took them 3 weeks to remember to drop off. My trash is continually missed - I started service with this company less than 6 months ago & I've had 4 missed pick ups. Then they reschedule a follow up pick up & then that gets missed. Republic has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They have confusing bills, I'm constantly being overbilled and charged administrative fees. I have to make numerous calls to fix my bill and don't get calls back. My bill still isn't fixed and now they've tacked on late fees. They don't show up for scheduled pick ups. If I could give them a negative review I would. After 17 years of paying them to remove my weekly trash and b-weekly removal of our recycling, they decided to charge an extra $6 per bagged trash that was not inside one of their bins. It was not matter that two of my personal trash bins that I had been using for years that totaled the volume of one of their bins, they would charge me $6 for the 2nd bin. When I called to point out that most weeks I had less than a full bin, but, like during the fall there would be bags full of leaves beyond the capacity of 1 bin, and that the total volume would even out over time. They had zero sympathy and held firm on their new policy. When I checked with Waste Management, I found them to be 25% less expensive for the same service. Note that they also charge for additional bags, but only $2 each. I could go on regarding the costs they charged to close the account, but that would take at least another page. Bottom Line: Go to Waste Management; do not waste your hard earned money here (pardon the pun) read more

Absolute worst! the charges just continue to go up but the service is the same. I just canceled my service and they are charging me to pick up their own cans and will not allow me to drop them off to not have to pay. So they charged me to drop them off and to pick them up. It's a ripoff and should not be allowed. If I paid to have them dropped off why should I have to pay to have them picked up. This "company" is the arbitrary provider for trash pickup in Arvada, CO. When I moved in June of '21, I called a month ahead and asked them to discontinue service. I was told by a very snarky fellow that if the new owner didn't put the service in his name, I would be billed $90 for pickup of the trash/recycle bins. Despite receiving a statement that I had a $42 credit and the new owner establishing service, I was billed the $90. Several calls and a BBB complaint later, I received a bill yesterday with a credit for $90 and an imaginary past due amount of $138, leaving the original $48. Hmmm.... read more

My calls were supposedly escalated to the local office and supposed to get a call from a manager- I was told this would happen twice and never did. I wish I could give zero stars. This company used to be so good, not sure what happened. They changed our pick up day which was fine, but then skipped our pick up twice during a 3 week period. Each time we were missed, I either called or notified them via the app. The first time they missed us they picked up our trash 2 days later. The last time, they didn't make it out until the following week on our normal pick up day. I talked to customer service three times about the missed service. I was assured that a manager (or whatever the highest ranking employee) would call me back. It never happened. I'm done with these guys. read more

Horrible service. Customer support constantly lies to you. My recycling wasn't picked up as scheduled on Wednesday (it happens). I called that afternoon and they rescheduled a Thursday pickup. That didn't happen despite an afternoon call to customer service where they assured me the recycling truck was on it's way, but if for some reason it didn't make it, I would be put on the schedule for Friday. Had to call again on Friday morning, and I was informed they'd rescheduled my rescheduled pickup for Monday - without telling me of course. When I asked to move the pickup back to Friday, the agent "priority escalated" the request and I was promised a callback from a supervisor within an hour. That didn't happen, so I called back later that afternoon. The new agent said she'd transfer me to a supervisor, put me on hold for 44 minutes, but then came back on the line to say no supervisors were available. However, she was glad to report my escalation had been acted on and that my recycling would in fact be picked up Friday. That didn't happen. She also said a supervisor would call me back for a follow up by the end of business that day. That didn't happen either. So if you want to spend 2 hours on hold across three days to be constantly lied to while bags or recycling pile up in your house, Republic Services is the company for you. read more

We have a event service business in Morrison. We have had Republic Services as our trash company for over 5 years, now and this is the worst season yet. There are usually a hic-up or two every season, but when they miss a pick up they pick the trash a day or two late. Here is a quote from their Google listing, "When it comes to handling your waste needs, we know how important dependable pickup and disposal are to you. We work to exceed your expectations with quality containers, safe and reliable pickup, and outstanding customer service." DEPENDABLE PICKUP?? We have gone for two weeks WITHOUT ANY service!!! I will never recycle againin Nevada. The driver was texting while driving hois route and almost hit my cans, he swevered and went around the cans but didnt pick them up, he just kep going and did my neighbors. I called and complained and it took Republic 6 phone calls , for them to come and empty my recycle bin and my association was giving me hell for leaving it out there. They lied and said it will happen today, I could hear the truck 6 blocks away but they never came back for 4 days. They didnt care one bit about the crazy driver, they didnt say anything to the driver about texting and driving. They just got sued for 35 million for a driver running over a young person and they still ALLOW the drivers to be crazy and unsafe. They never said sorry or we will talk to the driver or could you please send us the ring doorbell showing him driving reclass,, I told them I have the video but they didnt care one iota, nothing , just lies, from poor sorry customer service reps trying to passify instead of solve a problem. If a driver ever hits your car or a person ,, SUE them, you can get a lot of money from this company for not making the drivers be more safe SUE SUE SUE ,, lots of free money, even if they only bump your bumbper, Sue them. All Lawyers would be Happy to take cases like that . The gentlemen that remove our trash are excellent, professional and considerate. Unfortunately corporate is unscrupulous and unethical. Our bills have increased disproportionately to our service. They doubled their fuel surcharge in November 2020 when gas prices were at their lowest. We finally got fed up with their gouging and cancelled our service. We called in a timely fashion to cancel, but continue to receive invoices and collection notices for unrendered services. I would avoid working with Republic Services. read more

I had Republic when I lived in Arvada, CO, and they were great there. I transferred over my service to my house in Aurora, CO. What a mistake. Same story as several other people, however my trash is consistently picked up. THE RECYCLING WAS MISSED FOR 10 WEEKS STRAIGHT last fall. Same thing. Call the same day for the miss. Guaranteed that it'll be picked up the next day. Call the next day, same guarantee. I left my recycling on the curb until the next recycling cycle 2 weeks later, I called every day. Every day, I got the same song and dance about So sorry. New drivers. Short on drivers. People still learning reconfigured routes. We have contractors picking up recycling. Yack, yack, yack; no results. The figured it out over the holidays, and now I'm back to the same thing again. Missed 1 of 2 pickups for the month of January. Called, complained, nothing. Missed today's for the first February pickup. I WAITED ON HOLD, WITHOUT TALKING TO A SINGLE PERSON, FOR 97 MINUTES BEFORE I HUNG UP. I don't blame them for not wanting to hear about it at this point. I sent them a letter through my account on their main website with a request for them to contact me over their breach of my customer service agreement and their proposed resolution. At this point, if I don't get some free disposal for a couple of quarters for the lack of service that I've already paid Republic for, I'll boycott Republic for the rest of my days, in any place I'll ever live again. (They have picked up my trash on time) I left Waste Management due to horrible customer service, but this tops it. This company sent us a notice every month that our bill was past due and they were canceling our service. We paid the full quarterly cost four months in a row to keep our trash service and they couldn't locate our payment information. They are now telling us we haven't paid since November, despite paying WAY more than was owed. When we tried to sort it out, they were extremely rude. They would not accept bank statements showing our payment. They also would not collect our trash if it went past the top of the trash cans and I had to chase them down the street more than once to come back when they skipped us. read more

So we have been in our house for a two trash pickup cycles, our pick up day is Monday, first Monday, no problem about 0800 in the morning they picked up, this week they did not, called Tuesday and was told the truck became full before it got to us and didn't get back in time from the landfill, but they would be here today for sure, well the weren't. Wednesday morning we called, person on phone said I am calling dispatch right now, they will call you back, six hours later no call, so I called again and was told the routes are full, we will get it tomorrow. Republic Services / Waste Management is a terrible company. On Oct 15 my wife saw the garbage truck backing up at and angle and heard a loud 'Thunk' like a vehicle going over a curb. (Who knows why they had to backing up at an angle into my yard - weird). The following day I noticed a large rut in my yard about 1 ft wide and 2 ft long. The following week, I contacted Republic services about this incident. There were no apologies for the incident, just run around and excuses. Republic filed a claim with ACE insurance company who in my opinion is biased because they do not want to pay out any claims, so they denied the claim, giving me a lame excuse. See below excerpt of their response to me: "We do not find Allied Waste responsible for the damages sustained on 10/15/2020. No support was provided showing the operator was negligent when servicing the location. I believe there would be tire track indentations in the grass by the rut. I know we discussed the lack of tire tracks on the sidewalk because it has been dry. Indentations in the grass near the rut would be expected if the heavy trash truck caused the damages." This response is BS and is just a way to get out of paying for the damages to my Lawn. In November 2020 I obtained a $250 estimate from a lawn company to repairs to my lawn, and sicne have called Republic several times. I also filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau to no avail. They are still expecting me to pay them over $90 in back charges when they should at least be paying me the difference based on the $250 cost to repair my yard, and apologizing for the bad behavior of their driver. I have cancelled my service with Republic and will NEVER do business with them or Allied waster ever again. read more

Come home from work, trash still there. 5 Jan-Trash still there-Call the company and stay on hold for 10 minutes for the second day in a row. Told trash would be picked up on 6 Jan and a manager would call me. No call 6 Jan-Trash still there- They have no issue charging me-but have a issue completing their side of the contractual obligations. Will let them pickup on the regular schedule tomorrow and will find a new place to pick up my garbage- I actually just want to find a trash collection place that actually collects trash. read more

We've used Republic for 4 weeks now. We've only had one regular pickup and one missed pick up. We will call, and they'll schedule for a missed pickup, and it never happens. Our garage is filling with garbage and recycle. We can't keep it outside because there are too many wild animals. Customer service is nice and sympathetic, but nothing ever happens after we call.
