On the highway there truck dropped asphalt that hit our car. I've been contacting constantly about the incident it's a week later still nothing except for them trying to close the case saying it's impossible that it dropped out of there truck and hit our car cause they don't service our specific living area. I had to call explain that my husband works an hour away and we were on the highway which I explained before and told them I have photos of there truck. read more

This company is awful. I have used them for 4.5 years and am strongly considering changing. They add a $5.95 administrative fee for every time they send you an invoice. Doesn't matter what the invoice is, they still charge it (for example, an extra invoice due to a change in billing amount). This amounts to a 20% increase above the quoted price. I changed from the monthly payment plan to the quarterly plan to avoid paying an extra $5.95 a month. But after I did this, Republic Services made it so my recycling bill was on a different cycle from my "solid waste" (i.e., household trash) bill. So we are now back to the same situation where I must pay the $5.95 "administrative fee", now once for my quarterly trash bill and a second time for my recycling bill. The customer service phone number is sometimes helpful but other times very rude. I would recommend checking out other companies. To cancel their service, I was informed that I would have to pay a $32 fee per can pick up fee. read more

Republic Services service did not last one week. I never had such bad customer service trying to solve an issue, she literally yelled at me and canceled my service without have the decency to even try to understand or solve the issue. We switched to Republic Services hoping to get a good service, on our first week we called about some confusion and man theor cusomer service was rude. She was yelling and trying to prove she is write instead of trying to solve the issue. We cancelled service weeks ago because of their terrible customer service. They told us to leave the barrels by the road for pick up the following week. Now they won't pick up the barrels. As of today, the barrels been in front of our home for weeks. Republic Services keeps changing the pick up date. Now they're saying it takes at least a month. They told us if we get rid of the barrels ourselves they're going to charge us hundreds of dollars. What a great advertisement for their company!!! All our neighbors see those barrels out there for weeks. When we're asked why they're there, we will tell them our history with this company. I'm hoping our neighbors cancel as well. If nothing else, I hope their terrible service costs them money in cancellations. Not very smart way to market your service. read more

We cancelled this service after they failed to pick up our garbage several times over the summer. It's a real stinking mess when they don't pick up in July! When you call them, they act like making a call to have your garbage picked up is the norm. "Oh, we'll make a special trip." I.e. why isn't the trip we already paid for done in the first place? Further, this bill was $280 for three months; and, after some research, I found out that their competitor is $120 for three months, less than half. We cancelled in Early October, and they promised to refund my money for the rest of the quarter after the cans were picked up in Mid October, but they never did. Have called several times; they just put you on hold until you hang up after 20 minutes or so. We intend to report them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Be aware that this company charges $29.00 each container to pick them up after you cancel. They do NOT tell you of this cost until after they pick them up. They Do know how to raise the rates each year!! There is a company the charges 1/2 of what republic does, its Pollard Waste, consider a change. read more

Their prices increased frequently, they tacked on administrationf fees and fuel fees, and they gave me less than a full refund when I cancelled and only after I had to follow up with them. They don't vaue their customers. I now use a local company and pay much less for decent service. read more

Republic sold our route to another company and owed me money because I had credit on my account. Two and half months later and over a dozen calls, and I still have not received the money they owe me. I was told repeatedly a supervisor would return my calls, none have. Next call is to the New York State Attorney general's Office. read more

Republic Services is horrible....look elsewhere! I was a customer for ten years, always paid my bill prior to due date. After missed pickups, yearly increases to bill and admin fee, no pickup due to one inch of snow and no notifications thereof, the last being an increase in the recycling fee due to "the growing amount of contaminated materials in the recycling containers"....although not mine, was still charged! My bill was paid through 12/31/18. In late 12/18 I contacted Republic to say I was cancelling that month. I spoke to an extremely rude representative who told me I would be charged $50 per bin for pick up. I stated this was not part of my sign on ten years ago and that this was bate and switch, illegal and that I never agreed to this ten years ago and would not be paying this fee. In 1/19, received a bill for 1/19-3/19 service which I did not pay since service had already been cancelled. In 3/19, received a final notice bill with the reference number of the 1/19-3/19 bill. I contacted Republic and explained I had cancelled in 12/18 and was told by the representative this was for the bin pickups although the reference number was for service...my husband also contacted Republic and was told they would contact accounts receivable....never heard back from them. We then receive a notice from coast to coast financial solutions, on behalf of Republic, stating either pay the bill or they are reporting this fee to the three credit bureaus. This is Republic Services way of penalizing customers that leave them. If their service was good, which was Not the case, I would have stayed with them. Again, nothing in my sign on from ten years ago stated a pickup fee for the bins! Look elsewhere for trash removal! read more

After researching other companies, I cancelled my services with Republic. After several weeks/ months, they continued to send me invoices. Not to mention, they left the containers at my residence for a month. I called several times to have them removed to no avail. The last representative I spoke with stated my account was paid in full. Surprisingly enough , 3 months later I received an invoice with a notice that they would be sending my account to collections! Very frustrating, unprofessional. Pickup service was fine, only missed 1 day in the 2 years I had Republic. However the fees continued to climb. Started at $29 a month and ended up at $43+ a moncth within 2 years. Asked for an explanation multiple times and never received one. To add insult to injury, I cancelled at the beginning of the month yet no refund for the weeks that they will not be collecting trash. Missed pickup for our house and our neighbors. Between the two of us we called no less than 5 times. Promised pickup each time. 5 days later still have not returned. Now have garbage overflowing and smells terribly. Customer service was horrible. Waited on hold for a terribly long time without any resolution of the issue. Will be canceling service. read more

If I could give a negative rating, I would. I've been a customer for only 3 weeks. They picked up one week on time. The next 2 weeks, didn't pick up. Needless to say, I cancelled service. They still didn't pick up their containers. In the meantime, I was issued a credit for my 3 months. A new billing cycle started and the took my credit and put it toward another bill pay cycle. I have had Republic Service since 1996. The past few months have been the worst I've ever had. I own rental property and they get paid for three units. They haven't picked up as scheduled for weeks now. I call to find out why and I get put through to a call center where I'm on hold for 30-57 minutes before they answer me. They can't help and they tell me they will refer my problem to the local branch, where I can't call myself and talk to anyone. I have requested speaking to a supervisor, but have had no response for 17 days now. I have decided to cancel my service and have requested that the cans be picked up. After another 50 minute wait, they said the cans would be picked up. Again, nothing happened. What do I have to do to get this taken care of??? I am so disgusted right now. I have been with them for 22 years. This is so annoying and has forced me to take my business elsewhere. Before hiring this company, I would suggest that you beware! read more
