The price for green waste dump is absurd. We brought in a truck bed full of tree trimmings. They charged $138 which included the dump and $12 PPE. They require everyone outside the vehicle to wear a hard hat and safety vest. I'd recommend going to the Pleasanton dump. If you're a Pleasanton resident it is $14. Non-residents are $35. (Per cubic yard) Vision Recycling in Livermore is also cheaper. They charge $27 for green waste dump. read more

Went out to dump clean green waste, bushes I had removed from my yard. In my utility trailer 5x8 maybe half full, they weighed me apparently 640lbs. Not sure when they took the actual measurement as me (160lbs) and my 250lb son were both on and off the scales both times. Anyway, here's a couple things other than that oh the total cost $143.50 1. You need approved safety gear to even enter the property, hi-viz vest and helmet. Available for $12 bucks. 2. In addition to the above fees there's an Environmental fee $19. And a fuel recovery fee of 8.60%. Why am I paying a fuel recovery fee! Nowhere on any website I could navigate to mentions the safety gear requirement, I actually already own some. Nor the extra fees imposed for the privilege of driving the material to them. They got a flashy no real information website though! Next time I'll just do what so many people do and find a road late at night and dump it in the ditch. read more

This place now requires hard hats and safety vests. Essentially, this alienates the public as no regular person owns a hard hat or a safety vests. And no, their site does not include this requirement. And of course they are willing to sell you a hard hat and vest, only they are not currently in stock. This place is a joke. Avoid! This place is a rip off! This was my first and last time using this business. First, the attendant at the entrance was a PRICK, weighmaster Carlos M. I got out of my truck and approached the weigh station. He looked at the load in my truck via cameras, and saw what he thought was a refrigerator. So he says, you have an appliance. I told him no, it's a smoker. He replies, I'm looking at it right now, it's a refrigerator. Again, I replied, no, it's a smoker, and asked that he come look at it. He says again, I'm looking at it! He keeps looking at it so I ask him if he'd like me to bring it to him and he says says no. This was about a 10 minute process. Then he's asks me if I had a safety vest and hard hat. My wife and I looked at Republic's website, and no where does it say those items are necessary. So I reply I didn't, and asked if I could borrow one. The prick says no, but we have them for sale, so I had to purchase them there. When he comes out of the shed, to hand them to me, he noticed I was wearing flip flops. He says, you cant wear those, you need shoes, which I didn't have. Luckily, but unfortunately for my wife, she was wearing shoes. The prick says you can't get out of your. I was charged $87.13. I didn't look at my receipt until late in the evening, when I noticed he charged me an environmental fee for what the lazy POS thought was a refrigerator, which was a master built brand smoker. Lastly, the drive to the actual dump part was super long. The only good experience was the guy working at the site. He was very polite and even told me carlos the prick, had radio'd him, telling him not to let me out of my truck. The only reason I went there was because I was driving to Livermore to pick up a stock tank. If my wife hadn't been with me, I would have been screwed and would have had to dump somewhere else, or take it back home. F this place! read more

The biggest issue for us was that the bull dozer was coming straight to get the dirt we were dumping to cover the trash pile, so covering us in dump dust. It took us maybe 20 minutes to unload and the entire time the dozer was covering us with dust. As soon as we finished & got in the truck he went to another place to get dirt. We were far away from the dump pile, as instructed by the worker & the dozer driver had been moving dirt from far away from us, but as soon as we started unloading the dozer driver was where we were. We've gone to the dump for as long as I can remember and never had that happen. There was someone else also dumping when we left & the dozer driver avoided his area. We won't be back. read more

Great place to go if you are overwhelmed with cardboard boxes! Just moved to the Livermore area! The recycling for cardboard is FREE!!! I would recommend going in a vehicle you don't mind driving on gravel! Also use the middle lane it is for cars and trucks! Saves you time! Definitely will be using again! read more

Well, it's a dump... literally, but I assume you already knew that when looking at this review. Their waste disposal fees are pretty high, so I'm not surprised that I see people just dumping their trash in abandoned lots. However, they do accept cardboard for FREE! So, if you have a big load of cardboard (say, after Christmas or something), you just pull up and tell them and they have you drive over to big containers, over by the entrance and unload it. So, thank goodness for that!!! read more

After reading all the negative reviews, I decided to give this place a try. My office is in Livermore and it was very convenient to get to their location off of Vasco. I had a 15' truck filled with discarded office furniture and trash from cleaning out an office. My load was close to 2 tons (4000 pounds). I priced out the charge at Pleasanton transfer station and since I am not a Pleasanton resident it would be $30 per cubic yd, or about $840. At the Livermore landfill the cost was $260. The gate personnel were all friendly and helpful. Dumping at the landfill is dirty and smelly, but it was worth it to save paying too much. And just remember they don't take mattresses or refrigerators at the landfill. read more

Took a pickup truck load of household stuff (rug, cardboard, wood, etc.) over there from livermore and the guy tried to charge me 70 bucks. Said no thanks and went to pleasanton transfer station and paid 50 dollars less. This place is a joke. read more

We've been using Vasco Landfill for our local small business solely for the convenience of it being in Livermore, but this place has always given us issues and we will not be going back. First of all, it's extremely expensive (compared to other dumps in the area). Second, the scales are always broken and inaccurate. One time our truck weighed just slightly less than it did going in when it should have been significantly less given how much we dumped. We notified the person working the window and they opened a ticket for the manager to call us and discuss the issue and we never heard back. Which brings me to my third issue of completely non-existent customer service and extremely rude and aggressive workers. It's 100% worth the drive to go to another dump. read more

Hmm how do you rate a landfill....As far as landfills go, this one is great. I use it a few times a year and have probably logged 25 visits or more. Visit the website, and know before you go. There is a minimum charge, as stated on the rate sheet. It's dirty, it's smelly if you get down out of the wind, but dude- it's a landfill. I have found the gate staff to be pleasant, and the guys working down at the dumping end of things are nice too. Just follow their direction and you'll be fine. If you go when it's rained recently it helps to have a 4x4 to get back out of the dumping area. Keep your windows up when you get "over the hill" to keep the blowing dust out. And if you have delicate senses...um, don't go. read more

These guys are robbers, 1 sm TV and 10 styrofoam peices, and some old Xmas ornaments. Guy asked me to pay 98.00. Either there rates are insane or the guy was unfair to me. I wasted the fuel driving from Pleasanton to this landfill assuming PTown is a transfer station and the they take it to the landfill from there ?? I truly felt like they were trying to rip me off. I happen to be close to this disposal area/site and there was a gal who first of all had a really bad attitude towards me and second able she tried to charge me a lot of money for a load of garbage I has in my truck. I usually go to the one in the Peninsula Area called Recology It is located in San Carlos California because that is where my business is located, but I live in Brentwood CA. over at the Peninsula area where everything should be more expensive!! For the same amount of garbage load they usually charge me $95/100 tops. This lady with a really bad attitude towards me wanted to charge me $250. She did not even come out of her little cubicle where she was at to inspect the load. I truly wanted to give this place a shot because I always drive by there and I see their disposal facility. Where do I begin??? Maybe with the three lane system of disaster making it impossible to see who is first second or third in line. But always count on the super helpful customers there to lend their knowledge of the dump. For example, the woman in the lavender purple painted Peterbuilt tractor who will so eloquently explained the order in which patrons are served at this establishment. She will proceed to insult your vehicle size while asserting her position in line. That was a special moment. Or how about the 2 employees making a simple trip to the recycling center an unbearable endeavor. Yes sir, I'm sure that you can verify that the customer in that huge semi is telling the truth as to what is in his truck by simply lifting the tarp a few inches and taking a wee little peek. 5 min per truck peek times 5 trucks= grrrrrrrrrrrr! Or possibly being told that the contents of my compact SUV warrants the minimum charge of $40 sending me driving off in a rage. I think to myself "this can't be" which led me to some impromptu investigation on my phone. Huh look at that! The website clearly states that I can, in fact, drop off cardboard boxes. If that employee would have just taken a wee little peek in my car I would have been able to drop off my goods sans the half bag of tape and styrofoam THE FIRST TIME. I took my chances and went back to have a little chat with the employee and drop off my cardboard boxes. Two trips, a rude encounter from another patron, and laziness from employees makes for a 1 star review. read more

I tried ordering a 20 yard container. What a nightmare. First off I was on hold for more than an hour. Secondly, when I did fight my way through their automated system that seems set to discourage anyone from contacting them, I was disconnected from the call taker. He had all my information and never called back. I called back and was forced to repeat the process a second time. I finished with this caller and then was contacted by the caller who told me she hadn't completed the process correctly and needed me to resign the agreement papers. This wasn't a huge deal since people make mistakes so I was not over upset at this point. They charged my credit card and on the day of the delivery I took the entire day off work which costs me money and I hired a laborer to help fill the container. By 4:00 PM no container had arrived so I called and was told that per dispatch the container should be delivered within an hour. This was an out right lie on the part of that call taker. The container never showed up and the following day I called again and spoke to another woman who told me that although they charged my credit card, there the order had not been processed and was never out for delivery as the guy previously told me. This company doesn't care about costumer service one single bit. They have the corner on the market and they know they don't have to go out of their way. Jon Vander Ark the newest CEO has inherited a mess of a company in regards to happy costumers. I'd rate this less than a one star if I were able. Please read the other reviews about this company, they are in large all around a one to two star which speaks volumes about their concern for costumer care. read more

Well organized landfill and really nice staff. Prices are competitive with Waste Management. Obviously, other people giving reviews don't shop around to find the best deal. They just show up at the gate uneducated to pricing and then Yelp complaining of pricing. Shop around Vasco is lower priced than their competitors WM. If you want better prices drive further to Tracy or Stockton to get rid of your garbage. read more

I went to Republic Vasco Landfill today. First thing I did was check their web site. I figure my rate was going to be 28 dollars for a small one cubic yard load. I brought 40 dollars just to be safe. Guess what?? I didn't bring enough. They have special fees that they do not mention or even hint at on their web site. My 28 dollar trip quickly turned into a 43 dollar trip. 28.00 dollars wood/chips/sawdust rate 13 dollars for environmental fee and a 9.41% fee for fuel recovery fee. I believe that they should make these fees Plain and obvious. With hidden fees like this I am not going back to this establishment again. Livermore has 3 free curbside pickups a year. With Limitations of coarse. Republic I think not read more

Poor service, high prices and poor communication- going to Pleasanton next time! Employee M. Pedroza was very intent on charging me as a business customer just because my debit card reflects my sole proprietor sales business. She wanted to double the unbelievably high $46 supposedly low minimum rate for a small load in my honda vehicle to a commercial rate! The poor communication came in to play when she advised me to pay cash instead of simply suggesting I pay with a credit card. Thinking I had to pay cash, I had to drive all the way back into town to get some cash. This employee was very difficult to understand and lacked any customer service skill whatsoever. read more
