I would give Republic Services 0 out of 5 stars if I could. Do not use this place. It is such a pain. When they do pick up trash, things work well. However, there have been too many issues with them not picking up the trash, a service that I pay good money for, for them to be worth the $$$. Also, they are absolutely impossible to get a hold of. I have spent hours trying to reach a customer service person for very simple request. A big issue with Republic Services is that their website doesn't list specific phone numbers for specific customer service concerns, so everybody gets roadblocked trying to ring the same number and then get transferred. Their messaging "chat line" is just AI, but you can reach a real person through it. However, the real person just copies and pastes preformatted replies and rarely provides helpful information. When I am actually able to reach a representative, they are very nice and helpful, but it is such a pain to reach them in the first place. read more

Irregular service, no communication as to when refuse will be picked up accompanied by increasing rates is a horrible recipe for a utility company. Unfortunately we get no choice and just have to leave our bins out on the street, hopeful this week they will actually do,what they are paid to do. read more

Difficult to get ahold of. I simply called to get my Trash pU suspended for 2 weeks and the web site does not show a telephone number. The chat would not allow me to go to a live person and did not have an option for me to request this through the chat. Now I am on hold and am about to hang up read more

These guys are terrible. I once complained about my route driver's surly attitude and he's been retaliating ever since. He will "accidentally" miss my pick-up or find a reason he can't take my recyclables. No one ever calls me. I have to make several calls until I find out why my garage wasn't picked up. And the customer service from the office is terrible. Too bad I can't choose a different refuse company, but I'm stuck with this awful company. read more

This is for the people on staff during the bulk drop off days. Your crew is WONDERFUL! Thank you for letting residents drop off the large items for free on the selected Saturdays. Their customer service is simply non-existent. I spent hours on the phone over the course of a month, attempted to use their website to report the issue, and finally sent a detailed letter through regular mail ... all in an attempt to have an issue with missed pick-ups addressed. The issue was never addressed. No apologies and no explanation. No one ever even responded to my letter. They have worn me down, so I'm not even willing to call again for fear of sounding like a crazy person. They could have fixed the situation easily; instead they ignore complaints until the complaints fade away. read more

Apparently if Republic Services tears out part of your sidewalk when they remove their dumpster they are not responsible. Fortunately for us, our roofing company - Klam Construction - is amazing and is taking care of it even though they didn't do the damage. read more

Quite frustrated with their service. First, although we leave our cans NEXT to the driveway right by the road, they always return it smack in the MIDDLE of our driveway, so I need to stop and move it it get in or out of my driveway (and there's not a safe place to park my car while I'm moving the cans). Second, I have often left additional recycling items next to the can, (sorted glass in a container, or bundled, flattened corrugated) exactly as it was described to do, but they never take it. Third, there is often garbage strewn on the ground that has been dropped. Fourth, when the auto-billing didn't work because of a auto-billing feature setting, I was never notified until they cancelled my service and charged a reinstatement fee. When I explained what I had been through and the problem was resolved, I mentioned that the reinstatement fee hardly seemed fair under the circumstances, but there was no offer to refund that, just basically a "sorry about that." I wish we had a competitor to choose! read more

Honestly I'm not one to even care enough to write reviews but I am getting extremely frustrated with these people. We put our garbage out the day before garbage pick up every single week and and I even wait an extra day to bring in and they ALWAYS skip taking our garbage! 5 times in a row now! Why do I pay for a service that is constantly NOT happening. The customer service people gave us a case number 2 weeks ago and still have yet to hear back from a manager. Maybe this will get their attention! This is getting a little ridiculous. We live in Villebois and it looks like our neighbors are getting their garbages taken but for some reason the garbage man keeps skipping ours. Is anyone else having this problem? read more

This is a terrible company! We receive unjustified and random charges on our bill every single month! When we call they just say tough luck! I have never been so furious to watch a garbage driver DROP my can and then put my trash back in the can when the garbage truck is CLEARLY right there! I am paying for them to remove it and do their job! Don't waste your time with this company. I'll haul my own garbage to the dump! read more

This organization has some terrible customer billing and resolution practices. The customer service reps are nice and try to be helpful, but I've found I have to call repeatedly to get billing errors corrected, even after they acknowledge it's their problem. read more

I just ordered service from Republic. I was told they would pick up the trash "at the door", their words for on our driveway. The cost was an additional $12 every two months. We live in a rural area and I am not a young man and in ill health which is why I asked and paid for "at the door " service. I can't take the trash containers up and down the 300 foot gravel driveway. After two weeks of Republic not picking up my trash, I called them and was told they don't do "at the door" pick up and they would would me refund me the $12. When I asked them what the $12 charge was for, they said it was for "at the door" pick up. I asked them why do they have a $12 "at the door" fee if the services aren't actually offered. The woman couldn't answer the question. If you are a municipality looking for a waste management company for you community and you have seniors living in your community, avoid Republic. read more
