BEST grooming in town. I've been using them since the late 90's. Resa goes out of her way to do the best job every time.

We have been using Resa to groom our Schnauzers for over 15 years, through 4 different dogs. Until today we have been satisfied with the service and care. Today was far from good. It is true that we went longer between grooming this time and Charli was a little rough. When we took her in this morning we told them we wanted a winter cut. I called at 4:00 to check on her status And they said she's on Resa's table now and she's going to have to take her skirt down a "little" short because she because has some mats. They called 14 minutes later and said she was ready. We went to pick her up and she was a total whack job. Her beard looked like it had been cut with a dull knife, she had long tufts of hair on her body sticking out, around her tail is left long as well. It looked like they took the clippers and shaved her head to toe, but skipped a bunch, trimmed her nails and charged us $80 for simple haircut that was supposed to be a grooming, that couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes. We started home with her and just really started looking at how bad it was, so we turned around and went back to talk to Resa. I pointed out the unevenness of the cut and told her it was not an $80 haircut. She said, she's the hardest schnauzer we've ever brought her. She's been grooming her for 3 years and that's the first time that's ever been mentioned. Then she said I can fix that, and proceeded to cut her even shorter. I told her to stop making it shorter, again said this is NOT an $80 haircut, reiterated that we had requested a winter cut. All I got was she was hard. This experience was bad enough that we will not recommend her and we will not be going back. read more

We took our large dog for a bath and nail trim and when we picked him up was surprised with a $64.00 fee. Hubby called the day before and was quoted the price of $48.00. That is what we had paid in the past for our big dog to receive a bath and nail trim and Resa's. When my husband asked to speak to Resa she informed him prices had gone up, that our dog was a big dog, and the price of $64.00 was going to stick. So even though we were returning clients, they had our dog's records to know he is a big boy, and were told he was large we were stuck with the almost $20.00 over charge from what we were quoted. So,since the surprise charge stuck Resa's Grooming can stick it. Will not return with either of our dogs. So those using Resa's better beware of the price being hiked last minute. Especially senior clients on fixed incomes. read more

My dog Doobie was in horrible shape, completely matted. These ladies did a fantastic job. They told me beforehand that the condition he was in there might be razor burn or scrapes, not to mention, there is a sign that is clearly posted on the wall claiming this could happen. Scalped my dog, they told me he was matted and needed to be cut shorter, then called and said he has razor burn to his testicles. That wasn't razor burn, he has nicks in his skin!!! Very disappointed and will not be back!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. Animals are defenseless and this is poor care. 10/10 don't recommend. Think twice before visiting here, unless you want a scalped dog who is traumatized and sleeps for hours after bringing them home. And the amount they charged, sheesh!!! Notably they are overwhelmed and need to stop taking on more than they can chew. Quality of their work is declining bc of Resa's greed. She is putting her financial gain before the safety of the fur babies placed and trusted in their hands. From day one of her opening this business I've kept a close eye bc someone close to me helped her financially start this establishment. Seems to me, Resa is very greedy. She was given a huge gift and never was appreciative for it. Karma is catching up with her and people are taking notice of her negligence and cold heartedness. Today I took my fur baby to Resa's K-9 Salon today. Our fur baby is about to be 5 months soon. Today was a first grooming appointment. I was nervous about taking her, but we knew she needed to be pampered. Her hair was getting scruffy and in her eyes. I called about 9 pet groomers to get her in. Everyone said it'd be the following week. That wasn't going to work for me, because I'm very impatient and have a crazy schedule. But, luckily our pup was able to get in. I took her in and they looked at her, asked what I wanted, and gave me a price! They were so nice! The price they gave me blew my mind! It was cheap, comparing it to all the other places (including Petsmart - and with a $10 coupon). $40, $3 for a cute bandana for her, and then the tip = $50 When I picked her up. She looked so cute! They didn't trim her ears because they wanted to ask me first, and said they would be more than happy to trim them for me. I decided not to, because she looked cute with her ear hair longer. She's super soft and smells great! I'll definitely be taking her back for all her grooming needs! read more

I took my baby in for the first time in February, they took her on the spot, told me when she would be ready , called me appropriately and my child was perfect, they did exactly what I asked, I've read these bad reviews and u felt I needed to give them a chance anyway. I'm glad I did, I will take again, I have no problem leaving reviews with any business I option, but if something happened to my dog I would of raised more than hell..I was very happy. I really love Resa's. I had a great experience here and my dog was finished early. I have a giant breed 9 month old puppy that's got tons of fluffy hair. He looked gorgeous and they even gave him a bow. Also, great prices! Half the price of petsmart. For a massive dog, a bath with deshed treatment was 60 bucks. I'll take that anytime. Took my dog here a few days ago for the second time and he was terrified to go inside. I was anxious about this because he's never been anxious about entering an establishment and I should have left right then and there. The manager (i believe to be resa) admittedly had a nasty attitude the first time I came but I brought him again because they did a good job the first time. Upon dropping my doodle off she immediately looked at him and said "what are we doing to that dog? we may have to go a bit shorter" before even confirming what I was bringing my dog for. My dog was at this point not wanting to go in the back room and had to be picked up to be taken back there. I should've taken him and left as soon as I saw how he was reacting to the girls there and that was my mistake. I dropped him off at around 9-10am and didn't get a call until 3pm that my dog was done and he was completely shaved. He entered with a full coat of fur that I had brushed and maintained for the winter, he just needed a bit of a trim. "A bit shorter" does not mean completely fucking bald. I was extremely upset and at that point just wanted to leave but I wanted to address my dog being anxious about their establishment. When I brought it up with the girl at the desk she claimed that it was just the noise and how many dogs were around, but my dog has never reacted like that so it sounded like bullshit to me. His haircut was uneven, had a patch at the base of his tail, and his ears weren't even the same length. When I got my dog home we was repeatedly pawing at his ears and it had a weird odor so i looked up symptoms and took him to the vet. They said that water had gotten into his ears and caused him to get a yeast infection in his ear. So I spent $73 at this salon getting a crap haircut for my dog and $162 to fix the infection that they left him with. Please do not take your dog here. They do not care about these animals and it's extremely concerning. read more

Me and my dog, summer sausage, moved to lubbock a year and a half ago and I've been trying to find a groomer for her and I finally found one at Resa's K-9 Salon! She was attacked by another dog and lost half of her bottom jaw, so she is very timid sometimes and I have anxiety when I take her to a new place and worry about how they will treat her. But at Resa's the staff was so welcoming and they treat summer with so much love and they adored her and that gave me so much relief. Her haircut is marvelous! Summer and I both love her haircut! The staff loved her so much they want her to come back and I know that we will always go back for her haircuts! Highly recommend! read more

We made our 2nd visit to Resa's today. The outstanding staff took such good care of my little fur baby till I could pick her up. Made sure she was taken out to use the restroom, and gave her a drink of water as well. But their outstanding care didn't stop there. They did an absolutely outstanding job grooming her. They paid a great deal of attention to every detail on her grooming. They also honnered my every request to care for her like their own. She left felling and looking like royalty! I literally have never experienced worse customer service than I have at Resa's. I chose to bring my German Shepherd here after a friend suggested it. What a HORRIBLE mistake. I dropped my dog off at 10 AM this morning and was told it would take 3 to 4 hours for them to finish. I never received a phone call and it had nearly been 4 hours so I drove up there to see what was going on. Each of the girls in there had HORRIBLE attitudes and rolled their eyes when speaking to me about my dog. I am the owner of the dog, so I have absolutely every right to be inquisitive about what they are doing, where they are keeping my dog, and how much longer it is going to take, but I got NOTHING but attitude and disrespect. I was then told it was going to be ANOTHER 1 and a half hours before he was done. I was tired of the attitude I was getting so I told them that they were not being very nice, and they MOCKED me. What the hell??? Seriously?? I am paying you for a service, that is absolutely uncalled for. It is ridiculous to keep people's animals locked up all day because they refuse to do appointments on Saturdays. I realize they are busy, but they need to take a hint and move to appointments rather than walk-ins because they simply cannot keep up with it. I am beyond irritated and will never use them again or refer a friend. PLEASE spend your money and time elsewhere, and keep your fur babies away from them! read more

Been going here since 1999. Was pleased for a long time, but the last three of four times they kept my dogs ALL DAY. This is kind of a deal breaker for me. Kept in the cage all day just breaks my heart. I must say that Resa's has received several BEST OF LUBBOCK and so I think that many people started using them, which has caused them to be too busy. It is generally so loud in the store. The staff are super friendly and so is Resa. Just keeping the dogs so long is not a good thing. Even when I bring them in sometime around 9am, it can be 3pm before ready. However, the last time I dropped my dogs off, (they told me on phone they would be there all day) they looked like they didn't even have their hair cut. Pass. Resa: open up a second location so you aren't so busy and can focus on more quality control. If you do, I will come back. read more

I usually try to write positive reviews but I felt I must post this. I took my yorkies to be groomed and when I got home one of them started getting a strange spot on their eye. I took her to vet right away and it was an ulcer on her eye. The vet asked me if I had her groomed lately and I said today actually. She said they sometimes splash the wash solution in their eyes but should have known to put eye solution to rinse them out. While I was waiting to see the vet I was talking to the gentleman next to me and he said he brought his dog in because he had him groomed at Resa's and the dog couldn't breathe well since he left there. read more

I've taken my two pups to Resa's a few times I'd say within a year and 1/2. I have a chihuahua and a miniature schnauzer. I live out of town but have taken them to Resa's a few times. My mother lives in town and takes her dogs more often and has been a customer for several years. In the spring I took my two pups. My chihuahua normally just gets a bath and my schnauzer was going in for a traditional schnauzer cut. Hours later I get a phone call and they tell me the schnauzers hair is "too matte" they wouldn't be able to do the cut. I was upset but, said ok. They shaved him down but, left his face. I was NOT happy because I felt like they were being lazy and did not want to deal with it. I agree he had a few matted pieces but they were not severe. Was not ecstatic about the outcome. This holiday season I was visiting my mom again and decided to take my pups to get groomed as my mother was taking in one of hers. It's always a decision to do it because it does cost a pretty penny. So yesterday 12-29-16 I took them in at about 11 a.m. Upon arrival they couldn't find my card on file. When found, one front desk girl joked with the other that she was slow...because she couldn't find the card. After my experience yesterday I can only assume both of them are ignorant, have a few loose screws, or are simply unintelligent. First we discussed my mother's dog and what he would get...one girl walks him over to resa and has her look at him...then Resa yells from her station what we told the girl wanted...because he has had it before. (With a slight attitude) I look at the girl in front of me and say "isn't that what I just said..." Now we begin discussing my pups, the chihuahua will get a bath and my schauzer will get a schnauzer cut..traditional you know with a skirt. She didn't write anything on his card and as I was leaving I said "and you got that he is getting a schnauzer cut" and she replied yes! I get no phone calls till a few minutes after 5 saying that the pups are ready. I go to pick them up and the girl rings me up for my two pups while the blonde ditz walks out my moms dog? Ok. She asks if I want ro leave a tip I leave 5...as I'm signing they bring out my schauzer ....SHAVED!!!!! NO SKIRT....NOT EVEN VERY MUCH FACIAL HAIR!!!!! I WAS PISSSSSSED!!!! I was so upset. #1 I purposefully combed out his hair before going so there'd be no reason for them bullshitting me about him having matted hair and #2 I asked the girl twice before leaving and she reassured me! I was so mad! Hair doesn't grow on trees! When I saw him I said "What happened? He was suppose to get the schnauzer cut!!!?" The girl just looks at me and takes the receipt. I said "If they weren't able to do it I expected at least a courtesy call....because I was expecting to pick him up with that cut not shaved!!!" Girl said "They didn't call you!!?" I said "NO! CAN I HAVE MY TIP BACK!!?" She finished checking me out and asked if i wanted to talk to the owner because she doesn't like for people to leave unhappy. I said sure if she thought it would help. They tell her and from her station, Resa starts saying his hair was so matte...we talked about this and said my mom's dog's name and I said yes I know that but not him. He was supposed to get a schnauzer cut. Meanwhile the lady who groomed him is trying to chime in. Resa pulls the card and looks says last time he came he was shaved whoever wrote it down wrote the same thing as last time. I said ok last time he had too many mattes this time he did not and I asked for the schnauzer. Resa asked the groomer was his hair matte she said no. Resa told the girl to give me my money back. Rudely. Then told me rudely "I'm doing the RIGHT THING! I'm giving you your money back." Then proceeded to say " WE CAN'T PUT THE HAIR BACK ON!" and I said "Exactly why I'm so upset" I was so upset. They really didn't care that they messed up...no apology from her or the dumbass who wrote down what I wanted. I truly feel they just try to get as many dogs in and out within a day. They are not vigilant with their work and perhaps need knowledgeable front desk ladies. Needless to say I will not be taking my pups there again. read more

I've taken my dog here a few times. She was a little matted and they said they needed to completely shave her. I was upset because a bother place that she has gone to did not shave her and she was way matted then. Next time I take her I made sure she was not matted what so ever they checked and even said she was not matted. I told them not to shave her just half of what she was and they said they can do that. First called them to make sure it was okay to bring a puppy that had been abandoned and I picked up to rehome. Told them he would be a bit skittish because it seemed like he had been abused. They told me not to worry to bring him in and he oud be fine So I did. After I waked in one of the groomers came up and he licked her and was very friendly with her, a second one showed up and he did the same to her, then an older lady walked up to him and he felt overwhelmed so he growled at her. Resa came flying up to the counter and said "Get that da.. dog out of hear right now, he is not welcome here. Get out of here now" She did not even give me a chance to reply. The funny thing is I have been a customer of them for over ten years or maybe longer, not sure. I will never take my business to her establishment again. They knew he was abused and skittish, they knew he would get a bit aggressive and then when I brought him in threw him out like a piece of trash. Not good for a pet grooming business. read more

Just moved to the area and went searching for a groomer. Overall, we were pleased with the end result. Our dog did have a bit of what looked like razor burn on his tail, so we will request a slightly longer cut next time to avoid this - it's happened even when I've groomed him myself, so I can't say it reflects poorly on the salon. The store itself seemed very busy...almost as if too much was going on. It was very noisy. It was, however, clean and the staff was friendly. I liked that the grooming tables were highly visible to anyone coming in the door. The groomer followed our requests exactly, which we greatly appreciated. Our dog seemed excited upon entry and exit, not afraid or anxious, so I assume they treated him well. We will use Resa's again. Update: We have now used Resa's several times and I continue to be impressed. Our dog is always excited to see the staff and comes out looking great! read more

I paid to have my senior dogs coat trimmed tight and my pup BBB. When I picked my dogs up, one of the women bantered back and forth with me that I had only taken one dog in. She was seriously adamant that I only had one dog there. It wasn't until I told her, 'ma'am, I can see my second dog from here, just give her to me." Then I waited a fair 5-10 mins to have both dogs returned to me and there were more then five workers three of which were walking around chatting with each other. Neither of the two dogs coat had been trimmed at all. There were fly aways still around their ears, bottom, legs. Additionally, not all of their claws were trimmed/touched. Some were, others were not. I was told and convinced a BBB would be best for my pup being it was his first visit at the groomers but that they would trim his hair - they did not. Both of my dogs have long hair. When I was asked if I was satisfied with their cuts, I kindly replied 'no, nothing has been trimmed'. They took one dog back, in which, as they put the dog on the table to be trimmed I heard two of the employees talking unprofessionally and brashly about me as if I couldn't hear them. I was so uncomfortable that I didn't stand my ground to ensure my dogs were trimmed to standard. I do not like confrontation- there shouldn't have been any to begin with. I ought to have followed my intuition about leaving them there when the front-clerk gave me a grotesque vibe. Her nails were caked with a smoker type resin and she kept jawing and humming as if she was on a stimulant. Not only that, she was rude, impatient, jittery and would not allow me to show her my dogs shot records which was a red flag right there. If she didn't check my dogs records, she's not checking others. This is how kennel cough spreads. There is more I could say from this first and LAST visit. A wasted amount of money and time. I could've bathed and combed my dogs at the house and saved the $90 spent there. read more

I took my Morkie who was badly in need of grooming, to Resa's, my first time to use a groomer in Lubbock. Everyone was so friendly, and they even called to make sure it was all right if they cut a piece of matted hair by her ear because it wasn't coming out easily, and they didn't want to hurt her. She looked (and smelled!) like a brand new dog. I dropped her off around 1:00 p.m. and she was ready to be picked up by 4:00. I definitely will be using them regularly! read more

Today I took my 2 Great Danes to get bathed and nails clipped. They told me I didn't need an appointment and just to bring them in at 9 in the morning. I called at 4:15 because I still hadn't heard anything. They called me at 5:15 to let me know they were ready. Our poor babies were locked in a kennel for almost 9 hours. They lost their card from past grooming so they considered them new clients which means they kept getting pushed to the end of the line. They told us that returning clients have priority... great way to keep your "new" customers. It's almost like they forgot about 2 150 lbs dogs. This is the LAST time I take my babies to this place. I am going to look into a mobile groomer that will come to our house. I was not happy to say the least. read more

As soon as I walked in all the ladies there seemed to be annoyed that I was bringing in my dog. Not a single one of them was courteous at all and hardly listened to how I wanted my dog to be groomed. I dropped off my dog a little before noon and they told me it would be about 3-4 hours. After the 4 hours passed I called to get an update on him and they told me it would be another TWO hours (the dogs are kept in cages while they wait, which I understand but 6 hours is a long time). I explained what time I had brought him in and the girl over the phone said that there were 72 (!) dogs in front of mine which was the reason for the long wait. Which I'm sure I misunderstood the number of dogs. Regardless I said okay and that I would wait for their pickup call. They called me 30 minutes later saying he was ready. So in less than 30 minutes they bathed, cut his nails, and groomed him. When I went to go pick him up they handed him over very rudely and without saying a single word. I still said thank you and walked out. His cut was not good at all. There were so many patches of hair that were not cut and were about an inch longer than the rest of his body. His face was trimmed so uneven and one half of his hair on his face was completely different from the other half. Awful experience overall. It seemed they also didn't trim the top of his head at all. Basically I paid for a job half done. This was my second time there and I have to say the first time was not like this. I will be looking into finding another groomer for my dog. read more

For 20 years my family has taken every dog we've ever owned to Resa's K-9 Salon. Resa and her staff have never been anything but wonderful to our animals and always deliver a great groom. Several years ago we had a Bichon become very ill after her last groom. When we took her to the vet her lungs were full of fluid. Our immediate thought was she inhaled water during her last groom. When my father went and told Resa in person she wrote him a $1300 dollar check on the spot to cover the vet bill. It soon later turned out that our dog had what was the equivalent of cystic fibrosis in dog form and it was NOT caused during her last groom. My father went and wrote Resa's a $1300 check in return because we knew it was NOT caused by her or any of her employees. The fact that Resa wrote that check on the spot to cover our dog's vet bill shows you what kind of business she runs. Anything else said is 100% ludicrous. My family will continue to take our dogs to Resa's K-9 Salon and highly recommend it to all. read more

We recently experienced very poor customer service from a business we patronize locally. The appointment for routine nail trims we thought we'd scheduled never materialized due to computer malfunction. We we're all but escorted out the door without any effort to secure requested services and with no return appointment. Customer service was non-existent and we are elderly with health problems that comprises our mobility. My husband called Resa's as his experience there long ago was so good. From the time we arrived through our departure they demonstrated great customer experience. They greeted us with smiles and genuine interest in our needs. They listened to me so courteously as I explained our Basset Hound's anxiety disorders and the fact that our 16 year old dog was deaf. Basset nail trims can be difficult as their nails are very thick and they are large dogs on dwarf legs The lead trimmer secured extra staff to help hold and reassure her while doing the best nail trim our dog has ever had. They immediately put our deaf dog at ease and she came to us smiling from ear to ear after they also did an excellent job trimming her nails. As we readied to leave, they asked us to return and even offered to help us lift our Basset into the car. Our dogs were so happy and we were thrilled. Resa's staff demonstrated the best customer service we've had anywhere in years. They were happy to help us, loved on our dogs, we're respectful and courteous to us, and even welcomed our return. We intend to return to Resa's on a regular basis and would refer anyone, including persons with special needs dogs, to them. Thank you to Resa's staff for appreciating our business, loving and reassuring our dogs, demonstrating good clinical skills and professionalism, and for excellent customer service that is so lacking among businesses today. read more
