Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. They were not the cheapest but completely honest and kept their word. I also inquire about work on our garage (though it's not leaking, but it's in need of replacement). On gave me an estimate of work for both garage and bathroom in a terrific value; I was shocked initially since no other contractor has given me such a reasonable estimate. Written and later official estimate was given, and the cost, part, work was exactly as quoted (aside from plywood needed for the garage) On is very genuine and respectful. He maintains a very high level of communication, and you just feel greatly welcomed when talking to him. Out of the 4 days of work done, On is pretty much there every day to inspect and verify proper work is done by the crew. When the crew do finish their work at the end of each day, there is NO mess left behind in the house/garden. Everything is cleaned up and nearly placed by the wall. Two wouldn't take the job because it was too small. Franklin came by and gave me the best price. After the initial deposit, his crew came by about a week later and finished the job in one day. I think they did a pretty good job replicating what had existed before, although the work seemed a little sloppy. I saw a few gaps in the framing, but they were able to seal it up with bondo. Also on one of the posts there was a large crack in the wood, but that was sealed as well. For the price, I think this was a pretty good value. Would definitely recommend for smaller jobs like mine.

This company replaced our 3,600 square foot home roof and 1900 square foot barn roof. We are extremely pleased with the customer service, quality craftsmanship, and professionalism we received throughout the entire process. When we contacted with them, our estimator returned our call the same day and was out to our property shortly afterwards to take measurements. He was very easy to work with and provided us with a competitive bid given the height and complicated nature of our roofs - especially on our home. Included in the bid were options for 40 verses 50-year shingles as well as 15 verses 30-pound felt, which allowed us to get the best value for our investment. We really appreciated that level of detail in the bid. And best of all, he answered all of our questions throughout the project thoroughly and in a timely manner. The office staff was quick to both email and send hard-copy versions of the proposal contract and later the invoice and payment options. In other words, there were NO surprises. The crew arrived on our property on time each day and worked extremely hard to complete the tear-down, felting, an shingling on both buildings in only 5 and a half days! They stopped working only to take a 15-minute break at 10:00am and a 30 minute lunch at 12:30pm. The crew was extremely respectful of our property and privacy while onsite, cleaned up at the end of each work day, and conducted themselves professionally during the county inspections. In fact, when the inspector came to do the final after the crew had left, he told me how impressed he was with the quality of the work performed by them. If I were to give this company a letter grade, it would be A+. read more

As a woman that owns a home I have a strong tendency to be very defensive when seeking professional help with extensive projects that need to be completed on my home. I decided to use Rescue Roofing Construction due to the consistency of the high ratings this company receives. I met with Sam and Nick. Sam and Nick carefully explained the process, showed me material samples, and explained what steps would be taken. While completing the contract, Nick and Sam explained and wrote in detail each step of the process. This contract included the 50 year warranty with a one-time transfer. Every day the employees showed up on time, and at the end of every day the workers would clean up after themselves. Each and every time that I called Nick or Sam with a question or concern, within one hour my call was always returned!!! I used Yelp to find a roofing contractor after multiple calls calls I had 3 estimates lined up from 3 different companies. I had Rescue Roofing come for my last estimate and I was super happy with every step. Eddie who came out to do the inspection was super thorough and explained all the details. He was very trustworthy and super knowledgeable. After I signed all the contracts I was updated every day until the project started. Eddie did an amazing job by making sure his crew did prepping and making sure around the house was tarped and ready for the work. He went ahead and sent me the full updated pictures to all the steps. In the middle of recent heavy rains, we developed a leak in our kitchen ceiling. The culprit turned out to be old, loose, and damaged roof underlayment and shingles. My experience with Rescue Roofing was excellent. James managed the project in an excellent manner- the project was done quickly as well as comprehensively. He took drone shots of the damaged tiles on the roof, inspected the attic and walked me through the contract procedure, answering all my questions. Rescue Roofing was excellent. It took less than one week. This was not a planned replacement, my insurance company was going to cancel due to condition of the roof. Our 2nd floor ceiling had a small leak so I called a few roofers for an inspection and estimate. I contacted Rescue Roofer and Allen came over for the inspection within a couple days. I've had my go-to roofer for around a decade but after he started being extremely flakey with me…read moreafter Los Angeles had a few unexpected rainy bouts, I decided I needed to find a new roofing contact who was more reliable. I also needed one urgently because LA was due to very heavy rainfall (the most recent one that started right before Christmas and ended two days ago). I'm very particular whenever I search for a new vendor because I've met with literally hundreds of different contractors/vendors/trade specialists in my lifetime due to renovating multiple properties in different cities. My search strategy might be overkill for some but it pays off for me in the long run - Once a highly rated business has been identified, I cross reference the business using different platforms such as Yelp, Thumbtack, Google, Houzz and Angi. I then further drill down to see how long the business has been around, if they have any complaints with the BBB, and what the least satisfied comments look like. Anytime Roofing was one of a handful of companies I was interested in. I contacted them using Yelp's quote system and I called them as well. Aviv answered my call and told me he could have somebody inspect my roof as early as the next morning and told me he could start on repairs the same day if I agreed to his pricing. This was ideal since the rain was due to start the following afternoon. I also later noticed Aviv responded to me via the Yelp messaging system as well. At 7:30 am the next morning, Aviv's roofer came on time and inspected my concrete tiled roof. I was then contacted by Aviv and given a verbal estimate over the phone. After I agreed to the price, he immediately sent over a written estimate via email for me to review and sign. Half my payment was due before the work started and the other half would be due upon completion. There is a 4% credit card charge if you do not want to pay via cash/Zelle. I needed a minimum of 300 square feet of underlayment replaced and some new wood installed as some of my existing wood was damaged. This was also a rush job since heavy rain was going to start later that day. Aviv mentioned he felt more underlayment should be replaced as he saw extensive damage but told me this could be done later and there should be no leaks with this current repair. The work was completed in roughly 8 hours and there were no leaks to be found after 4 straight days of heavy rain. Aviv also followed up a day after the rain stopped to inquire how my roof held up to the storm which I felt was a nice touch. I highly recommend calling Aviv and Anytime Roofing for a quote whether it's an emergency repair or if you are collecting bids for larger underlayment projects. He may not be the absolute cheapest roofing business you can find but he responds promptly, his roofers are punctual, and the ease and quickness of the estimate process are things you don't typically find with other roofing companies. Reliability and consistency are important factors that I feel deserve a premium as well.

Will and his crew did a fantastic job, they were worked really hard on the hottest day of the summer and even did a great clean up job. The project was completed and the roof is sealed, which is the reason this isn't a one-star review, but the standard of craftsmanship fell well short of what a job of this size and cost should deliver. The problems were not isolated; they accumulated across the work, and several caused damage or follow-on issues that I had to resolve myself. The trouble began during application. The silicone sealer dripped onto the ground below the roofline, and I was fortunate to be walking the property at the time, because I was able to wipe the residue away before it set. Had I not been there, it would have dried in place. The application itself was careless: sealer splattered across my skylights (I have the photos to show it), leaving a mess where there should have been clean, deliberate work. Beyond the cosmetic problems, the crew failed to restore key components to their proper positions. The electrical conduits on the roof, which rest on wood blocks, were not returned to their original placement, and as a result the metal conduits became fused directly onto the dried silicone layer. The condensate drainage line for my AC was also left improperly routed; instead of running cleanly from the unit to the drain, it was left hanging, which caused water to back up into the AC unit and ultimately stopped it from working. The detail that best captures the lack of care was my outdoor bathroom sink. The crew used it to clean their painting equipment and left dried silicone lumps caked across the porcelain. It was filthy. The only way I could remove the buildup was to scrape it off with a straight-edge razor. What pushed my rating down further was the absence of any accountability afterward. I notified the job supervisor of these issues more than two weeks ago and have received no response from the company since. A reputable contractor stands behind its work and addresses legitimate concerns; silence after a $25,000+ project is its own kind of answer. I expected professionalism from start to finish: clean application, components restored to working order, respect for the property, and responsiveness when problems arise. What I received instead was sloppy workmanship, preventable damage to my AC system, a cleanup burden left on me, and no follow-up. Two stars reflects a job that was technically finished but poorly executed and poorly supported.

Price was very competitive, which was better than most quotes that I got. Quote didn't include any plywood, but he threw in 2 plywood for free (only had to replace 6 plywood total, so paid for 4). We got our roof done during busy rainy season, so picking a date was a challenge. The project itself went well. On the first day of the tear down, I was surprised how fast and efficient the team worked. By the end of the day, roofing materials were already delivered, damaged plywood replaced and underlayment installed. They finished the project exactly on time, as they said they would. For the rear part of the house, we did a "comp out" around our solar panels, which looks great. This project was quite involved, and took a very long time to complete due to our solar contractors. David was very patient throughout the whole process, and didn't put any pressure on us. Three things that I really liked: 1. Visually, the roof looks excellent. It looks much cleaner than the previous tile roof. Juan, our lead roofer on the project, as well as the rest of the team, did a great job. 2. When there were minor issues that popped up, which are to be expected with such a complex job, guys were at the house the next day to take care of them. 3. Of the many contractors that came to bid on this roof job, DT Roofing was the only one willing to actually do a true tile rest, and try and save as many existing historic tiles on our roof. Almost every roofing company that came out tried to pressure us to get rid of the existing tiles, and just buy new tiles, saying that at least 70% of our tiles were going to break when removed. The guys were able to save the majority of my tiles, which helped to save us money, and also helped us to keep using many of the tiles original to the house.
