Roof looks amazing and the warranty was the best one we came across. The price however was one of the highest but I trust it's for the materials and quality of work. My wife and I didn't want to cheap out on a roof so we went with this company. Unfortunately our price had doubled (price of a brand new car of the year at that point) after the demolition was done because of how bad the wood was underneath and we were recommended to put new plywood over it and we were told it would provide better support instead of replacing all the wood. We were also told it would be more money spent and risk the possibility of leaks later on if we tried replacing the old wood. The inspectors were informative of the work needing to be done but at times they did come off as more of salesmen trying to make a sale and get their numbers up. However we went ahead, bit the bullet, and approved the work. The job took about a week or two. I would have liked more communication on when workers would pass by because sometimes they would show up unannounced. Also I had found our Blink cameras on the floor under the roof rubble a couple times even though I had offered to remove them. Nevertheless the roof is done. It looks amazing. Time will tell if the work and warranty was worth the price. I will update my review accordingly. read more

They repaired my parents' roof a year or two ago. During the recent rain storm we had, my mom noticed a leak in the area that supposedly has a new roof. She's been contacting their office repeatedly for someone to come just inspect and see what the issue is. Office said they'll call her back and never did. I contacted the previous foreman, Sam, but unfortunately he said he's no longer with the company. We just need someone to be back to us and see what's wrong! I really hope they respond because they offer "30 year warranty" on their work. That warranty is not much use if they don't honor it. read more

I found Rescue Roofing off Yelp and had many different companies to choose from. In the end, Rescue Roofing wasn't the cheapest but I believe they were the most knowledgeable of my roof and its problems. They also had the best warranty of 30 years labor and 30 years material which can be transferred once. Anyone looking for a new roof should definitely consider them. Be advised though that if your roof is 20+ years old you will most likely have an additional charge to replace the old plywood underneath the tiles. It is impossible to estimate without taking off the tiles because you won't know the condition of the old plywood until the tiles are removed. Although another charge, new plywood increases the longevity of the roof and the value of the home. Foreman John came out on a Sunday to look at my roof and explain its issues. He was definitely knowledgeable in my roof and what it needed for it to be fixed. The true test will be how it stands up in a big storm but I am relieved that I have 30 years warranty for any issues that may arise. read more

The whole project took about 14 days from start to finish. They handled both the solar panels and the roof. The initial meeting for estimate with John and Allen was great. They were professional and friendly. It was a good sign when they were on time, and inspect the roof prior to going over the estimate. They were thorough and provide all the details. Their manager Abe followed up after the estimate meeting and willingly negotiated the pricing. When the project starts, their crew was punctual, and they were on top of communication. They pulled the permit and took care of inspection scheduling. They consistently provided updates, with pictures where applicable, through every steps. When we had issue with a facia board they installed, they fixed it the next day. I have had bad experience with contractors (the ones that doesnt show up when they said they would, or show up late, or dont communicate, and do bad work), so I can tell you that this company is great and worth their price. One piece of my roof tiles fell down which I want to fix as soon as possible. I asked some of the companies I found on Yelp including Rescue Roofing to come and give us quotes/estimates. They found some of the other edges of my roof are sagging too. I got several quotes from 4 roofing companies. I picked the one who gave me lowest price due to my limited budget, which was a big mistake. That company came and opened up the roof and then they said that they discovered new damages and doubled the price. They under-bided and tricked me into hiring them. During my conversation with them multiple times, I lost trust to them and decided to end contract with them. Allen from Rescue roofing gave me a good impression when he came to inspect my roof. So I turned back to him for help. Before Allen gave me a price, he went on to the roof himself, fly a drone over my roof, and got in to my attic to investigate what the problems are with my roof. He even brought several roof exports from his company to come and estimate the work needs to be done, how it should be done and how much it should cost. They did not give me the estimates until they were sure about all the work needed to be done. He eventually gave me a quote that includes everything needs to be done, explained to me how it should be fixed, and promised on the contract that no change of orders! Allen gained my trust on the project and I decided to hire them, although their prices are not the lowest. During the project, Allen communicated to me of progress they made every day. And let me know what have been fixed with pictures. They visited the site to make sure the work is done properly and asked me for any requests. I am not sure if they are doing a good job or now when it comes down for actual roof installation. The appointment has been scheduled and confirmed several times. It is 10am on Sat while I have to compromise other my weekend morning errand. Someone called me at noon, saying his secretary couldn't reach me in the morning and that is why no one showed up. I did not get a single phone call in the morning. They could simply acknowledge that it was their mistake but he insisted that a phone djd not go through and wanted to reschedule. Recue Roofing did a great job on a few sections of our (not small) Pasadena "Spanish Tile" roof - most of which was 97 years old and - until recently - never previously leaking. Another part, only 25 years old, was also repaired, once it was opened up, inspected, and determined that indeed the two skylights were in fact leaking water into the roof and had to be replaced, which was timely and well done. The crew was professional, industrious and careful, they preserved as much of the old (1926) tiles as was practicable, thus they kept the costs down and the quality up. I inspected the work on my own as it progressed, as I could gain access due to the layout of our two-story house, and was fully satisfied with the care and thoroughness of the work. Of course the Rescue crew and Pasadena cIty Inspector also approved, and the roof was finished just in time for another deluge. James, Rescue's agent, was on the ball and very responsive. During this time heavy rain interrupted the project a few times, and the crew was there immediately to put tarps over the exposed areas. I was told by his inspection that the roof tiles are fine. That was not the case, after the rain the leak increased. Through another company's physical inspection, they found many cracks in the tiles. The sales asked many personal questions and failed to give me an answer to the cause of the leak. The salesperson was only trying to make money instead of finding the cause of the leak. When I asked him to do a physical inspection, he stated that he didn't need to and that his flying drone could do that. Not really. EXTREMELY SHADY. Do NOT use Rescue Roofers or Ida Developers. They came to "fix" a leak in our roof, and left it massively susceptible to future leaks. They removed ridge-caps to expose up to 60 nails underneath, along the roof's ridgeline, then replaced the ridge-caps with an improper size that left dozens of existing nails uncovered, and didn't even water-seal them. Just left dozens of nails and nail holes exposed, no doubt hoping to be called back to "fix" the problem after the nails slowly degraded from rain and weather exposure, and the resultant damage caused more leaking. They also left an exposed gap in the roof around a vent, allowing rain to seep in and cause a DIFFERENT leak. They overcharge, push work you do not need, and left our house WORSE than when they arrived. They either don't know how to properly install roofing, or purposefully do it poorly to gain more business in the future. Either way, AVOID. read more

Let me just say-- Rescue is one of the best companies around. Period. I know that sounds pretty vague, but I mean it in general. It's been a while since I've received service this personalized, quick & efficient, and HONEST. I needed my roof repaired, and contacted Rescue as I found them on Yelp. Within a day of calling, their foreman, Arthur showed up on site, and provided me with a comprehensive quote and specified explanations of the damages on my roof/what work would need to be done. The professionalism alone was enough for me to accept. Remember, they call themselves the "no change order contractor" and they proved it. As they began work on my roof a few days later, they found more damage than they had anticipated -- and DIDN'T UPCHARGE ME. Let me rephrase that. They found MORE damage, but DIDN'T ASK FOR MORE MONEY. What you see is what you get out the door. The roof was completed within two days (the estimated time range for MY roof- this varies obviously for every customer), and I couldn't be happier. Rescue Roofer to the rescue! During last month's heavy rain, our roof started leaking through the ceiling. We just moved in last November and knew the roof needed some work. We did not know it was leaking ... in five places! We contacted a few roofing companies to get quotes (Yelp is fantastic for this). Rescue Roofer is the only company who actually went into the above crawlspace to check things out. All of them looked at my leaky ceiling from the living room, went on the roof and stated the obvious issues we were aware of like ventilation sealant and there being layers of shingle on shingles on shingles. While we were at it, we decided to also have the roof on our additional unit replaced and discovered the original wood shingles under 3 other generations of shingle technology! James was the Forman who helped us organize the project and took care of everything start to finish. He was communicative, patient, and worked to make sure this was done quickly and efficiently. The men doing the roof installation were also awesome. They cleaned up after themselves and took precautions to make sure our landscaping was protected. They were super efficient and could all have second careers in Cirque de Sole. The job was 100% complete within a week from consultation to final inspection with the city. This was THE smoothest, least stressful, and fastest home improvement project we've ever experienced. I think this is in part due to the fact that they only do roofing, so we were not dealing with contractors contracting and multiple companies trying to work effectively together. We had an excellent experience. We have a 1920s-era home on a stair-street* in Echo Park with lots of old wood and features that make it beautiful but exceptionally inconvenient and expensive to maintain. The heavy rains from Winter 2022-2023 blessed us with a leak in the worst possible location, requiring extra labor, time, and stages to even access the leak. We had never had roofing/leak issues, so I did a lot of prep work to understand the situation, how these projects go, what they cost, etc., to be able to discuss and not be a difficult moron. I then called several places, but after explaining the situation, sending photos, and being upfront about what I (a layperson) perceived as hurdles, most wouldn't even come out to offer a quote. Rescue Roofing took my call on a Saturday morning and had folks at our place a couple days later--on time. We talked over everything w/ Harry & Don, and ultimately decided to go w/ Rescue Roofing. They started a few days later and we were soon introduced to a broader crew--Arthur/Art, Alejandro/Alex, Nick, & more--who were all really great & easy to work with from start to finish. The whole thing took a couple of weeks, and they were always in good communication about what was going on, when, if they were going to stop by to check on things, etc., etc., which was extremely helpful to me b/c I was always able to make plans around my work schedule. When you're spending a ton of money b/c something needs to be fixed and fixed right, it's a relief when it can at least not be unpleasant to get through and the people you work with are gracious and friendly. Project Timeline - Full Re-roof Contract Start Date: January 5, 2023 Actual Start Date: January 24, 2023 Roof Completion: February 8, 2023 Final Inspection: February 15, 2023 Post Visits (after inspection): Feb. 16, Feb. 17, Feb. 20, March 8, March 17, April 4, April 13 Rescue Roofing Construction were quick to respond and had James out inspecting the roof within the week. James suggested a full re-roof to fix the leak among other suggested installations: 3x metal valley, 3x new low-profile vents, etc. Due to the weather condition, construction didn't start until about 3 weeks out from the approximate start date. James was great with keeping us updated on the status, and when construction started he kept us informed on the progress and responded quickly to questions. After roof completion and final inspection, things went downhill as we started finding issues with the roof: nails and debris were scattered around on top of the roof and around the house, and his response time started to range from every 2-3 days to eventually no response when I tried to request for pictures of the completed project. No leaks so far. Aesthetically the roof is cleaner with the algae now washed away, but multiple tiles are either broken or chipped, and some tiles are misaligned. They come and fix the issue and get out as soon as they are done. I've had to inspect the roof and call 4-5x for reoccurring issues, and at this point, I've come to settle with the chipped corners and stains... The tiles that I wanted to make sure to replace were ones that appeared to be broken across more than 50% of the tile. Overall, they seem to try and work with you to get things corrected, though I much prefer the issues not being there in the first place. I can't say I would recommend to friends or family. March 31, 2023 Update: Still cleaning up nails and small pieces of debris around the house. April 2, 2023 Update: Purchased a drone to get my own pictures since I haven't gotten a response to text messages or call for about a week now... Nails, debris, and black substances scattered around the roof. There were pieces of sawed off/broken tiles in the metal valleys. Found only one new low-profile vent installed in the back side of the roof at the same location as the previous vent before the construction. Couple of tiles were broken as much as across the whole piece and repaired with some binding substance. Counted approximately less than 25 tiles that were a different color (replaced tiles?) than the majority of the roof tiles. Many of the tiles had chipped corners. April 7, 2023 Update: Inspected roof again after cleanup. Mastics were cleaned up, though some left black stains on the tiles. At this point, better than a glob I guess. The roof was pretty cleared from debris and nails, but still found some tiles that were broken beyond 'a chipped corner'. Spoke with James regarding not finding additional vents installed as suggested during the free inspection, however, he was told that only two were recommended so we got one new low-profile vent installed. April 15, 2023 Update: Inspected roof again after workers came to replace the broken tiles. All the really damaged tiles were replaced. A lot of tiles with chipped corners remained, but at this point we'll just accept this as a loss. James mentioned in the past the chipped corners shouldn't be an issue so hopefully that's true. Positives: - No noticeable leaks since the roof repair - Communication was great prior to "project completion" - They seem to try and work with you on getting things corrected Negatives: - Roof debris left around the house throughout the construction. We left it alone assuming it would be cleaned up at the end of construction, however, not the case. - A worker used our water valve to connect to their power washer. Didn't turn off the valve after using it so water left leaking overnight. - Workers came to work on the roof on 3 different occasions after final inspection to work on... something. We were not informed of the visits or the purpose of the visits: - 2nd visit talked to the worker and said he was there to a fix tile; showed me the tile that had caulk or some binding agent applied to a crack that ran through more than 50% of the tile - 3rd day same worker stated he came to clean the tiles, but was running some cutting tool on roof so not sure - Black substance visible around the roof read more

With the recent heavy rains, I found that my bathroom ceiling had sprung a leak with the paint bubbling up. Contacted Rescue Roofing thru yelp and got a pretty quick response asking basic questions such as the nature of the leak and how long has it been leaking. I was setup with an in person inspection a couple days later and had the pleasure of meeting Sam and Eric. They arrived early and were very personable including being prepared with shoe covers. The inspection included first looking inside to see where the leak was then the roof itself. They were equipped with a moisture gun that looked like something out of a paranormal tv show hunting for ghosts. As it was the first time I had been thru something like this I was taken aback when they pulled out a drone and flew it over the rooftop and was able to locate and identify multiple areas that were concerning such as cracked tiles and some mickey mouse work that was done prior. We watched the footage in real time and they used it to take some pictures. Then Eric inspected the attic and took note of other potential problems. In the end they offered reroofing of individual sections or the entire roof with a 30 year warranty (which is one-time transferable) and wood replacement up to 15%. They showed me all their credentials, explained the process, answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed or pressured. Reroofing certainly is a bigger project and hence the price tag, especially given their credentials and track record. Whilst the wife and I decided to "roll the dice" and look to get the leak patched, if the patch work does not hold and we end up deciding to reroof, Sam and Eric would definitely be the first for me to call! read more

I found other roofers that had the same final price guarantee but at more reasonable prices. They were nice people, their prices were just outrageously high so we didn't use them. read more
