I've been to the places where they have glass counters and scoop up bags from behind - there is none of that here. The walls are adorned with bags of every variety of popcorn you could imagine from your standard white for $4 up to larger bags that will set you back over $15. My eyes were set on the Fat Boy (Double Cheese) but movie theater butter sounded fantastic too. Luckily, they will let you sample the offerings. I got what I call a small bag (there was a smaller bag) for about $9. Honestly, I don't want to know what's in this popcorn but you can't eat it out of the bag or you'll have cheesy hands. It definitely filled my desire. Based on past reviews, it sounds like this is a new location. This truly is a super cool, local business. It may be too convenient for me.

In reading some earlier reviews about the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. We were greeted very warmly the minute we stepped in and my 3-year old was a bit on the cranky side so she dealt with that well too! We had a completely different overall experience than the person wrote from earlier this year. The walls were perfectly in order, stocked with all bagged popcorn flavors and candy. Floors and counters were clean. They also had a beautiful display of gourmet candies to the side of the check-out counter, above it which listed also their ice cream offerings and prices. They had all their various tins with many patterns to choose from on the top shelves. My kids enjoyed watching fresh carmel corn being stirred up behind the counter. She even let us sample the fresh/warm popcorn. The lady was a great sales person, that is for sure. We walked in thinking we'd buy a small bag for the kids to share and we ended up walking out with a 2-pound tin tub, plus an extra bag of cheesy bacon pizza popcorn. We paid around $30, which really was a good price if you look at Garrett's prices! Plus, the lady told us that we could bring the empty tin back anytime (no expiration) and get it refilled with a discount - I think she said 15%. I liked that we were able to get 3 different flavors to fill up the tub. She filled it to the rim too. The tub seems to hold at least 7 of the large bags that were sold individually. My favorite was the 3-cheese that had white chedder, parmesan and I 'think' just regular cheddar. It melts in your mouth. So good! We were just there a couple of hours ago and I think I am half way through this third of the tin. We might need to refill the tin before heading home from Lake Geneva in a couple of days. My kids liked the carmel/cheese that was seedless (tastes like Cap N' Crunch cereal) and a white chocolate one. I might need to have some shipped to me during the year as this popcorn is seriously addicting! When I was many years younger, the only popcorn store I was familiar with was Karmelkorn, and their caramel popcorn had a medium brown glaze. I could pass it up any day, but if the people I was with insisted on stopping in, I would get some cheesy popcorn instead. Now, the closest popcorn store to home is Laura's Gourmet Popcorn. The caramel popcorn from Laura's red wagon in the Shops of Grand Avenue was first offered to me by my husband, who I blame for making me aware that this treat exists. The thick coating is a light brown color and to me it's almost a toffee-like flavor. In any case, it's delicious, and pretty hard for me to say no to. Sometimes Laura's will also sell popcorn at the Westown Farmers' Market.

However the price was pretty high given the amount of popcorn that you get and the location isn't nearly as convenient for me as Goody Gourmet, which tends to have better prices as well. Service was pleasant if a bit slow. There wasn't anyone in there and I knew what I wanted right away but it took a good 15 minutes to fulfill my order due to a "labeling issue in the back." I liked the look of the place, from the art to the games on the tables and it would be a fun place to hang out for a bit though the food menu outside of the popcorn and spring rolls is a bit limiting for me, making it a bit unlikely for me to come and stay for a while.
