Super friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is always phenomenal. Staff is also very good about giving you the room you want. They gave me the same exact room both times for my last two visits. Hotel is well-maintained and clean inside. They plow the parking lot immediately after a snowstorm. The hotel is also close to all the major restaurants and shopping centers in the area. We checked in on Friday and we're greater by Nadine who turned out to be the front desk supervisor. She greeted us with a smile and was genuinely interested in why we were staying at the hotel. We were there for the Fryeburg Fair. Later on the next day she gave us some recommendations for locations to see. One included Lands End, a nice place that had a beach and gift shop. We rode the elevator up to the room we were booked in. It was weird because we were booked in a handicap room. Neither my fiancé nor myself are handicapped. The room was nice in the sense that it was like a studio apartment. First thing we noticed when we walked into the room was a smear on the mirror. We were both tired from work and school so we went to bed. I woke up the next morning really stuffy and congested. I also saw the fitted sheet come up and saw a stain on the corner of the bed by the head. I'm not sure what it was. I also saw that one of the shampoo bottles looked to be ripped off the wall. Housekeeping was in our room, bed was made, but mirror was not cleaned. We also noticed that air vent was really dirty and that the airflow was significantly better in the living area as opposed to then bed room which remained hot. We also noticed that fan didn't work in the bathroom making it hotter in the bedroom (directly connected to the bed room). One other minor thing that would be great to fix would be the squeaky door to the bathroom that would squeal as you closed it. We had breakfast which turned out to be a letdown. They had eggs with cheddar cheese and sausage wrapped pancakes associated cereals and juice. read more

I booked a suite for a week here, and at first things were a little Rocky.. Starting with the night of 10/30 being $800 for one night... I ended up cancelling my reservation and booking another hotel... but when I checked the rates again closer to the first night I noticed the rate had dropped down to $180 for the night.. So I rebooked. We hung out in the room in the afternoons, and for the most part it was a quiet location. Did not have many complaints other than random guest dogs barking. But that was not a constant issue. We got the impression that nobody really cared about anything there, which in my case wasn't a bad thing! Driving a Tesla, while this location does not have a charger.. We did find a regular plugin outlet on the side of the building. Nobody seemed to mind that I used it to plug my car in at night, which provided about 10% of charge per night. Room Service came daily, and every other day would do a full service on my room. This was greatly appreciated, not having to worry about running out of certain supples. The breakfast was pretty good every day, we ate 6/7 days here. Overall, Great place to stay. Will likely be booking here again the future. read more

Let me just start by saying that someone violently tried to break into our hotel room around 9pm. Hotel staffed informed us there was no security cameras, however I knew there was one at the end of the hall near the exit/entrance. Police were notified and involved. While we were issued a refund, the staff at the front desk were careless about our situation. I did not know that locals refer to this area as the "dirty Lew" until after check out. We were here for the NCAA Division III Hockey Tournament and reserved a 2-bedroom suite. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had two bathrooms and a large kitchen and sitting area. I've rented apartments that were smaller! The wifi worked great; The gym had adequate equipment and weights (two treadmills, one elliptical, one stationary bike, set of barbells). The free breakfasts were nice, something for everyone. Make-your-own-waffles, ham, scrambled eggs, yogurts (organic and non), bananas, chopped cantaloupe, bagels, bread. Coffee, teas, orange and apple juice. It's conveniently situated in a new shopping area with several restaurants within walking distance (Ruby Tuesday's, Buffalo Wing Factory, TGI Friday's, Panera Bread, etc) and stores such as Walmart. We had a door jam issue and they fixed it immediately, made it like new. -Highly recommend. read more

I took a weeklong road trip and this was the best of 6 hotels I stayed at and by far the best price for the space. The room is set up to feel very homey and the girl at the desk made recommendations on where to go without me even asking when she heard that I was on a road trip. I really enjoyed my stay even though the town itself doesn't have a lot to offer. My one ask of the hotel is to invest in the structure - I could hear the person above me walking very clearly which shouldn't happen in a quality structure. read more

This hotel is conveniently located close to the Auburn Mall and a lot of restaurants. It is c lean, welcoming hotel with a spacious lobby that is worker friendly is you're here on business plenty of tables and chairs to work while you wait for your room to be ready or if your waiting for coworkers. There is an inviting fireplace as well. The lobby also has a small convenience store for snack and drinks, soft and alcoholic. Free breakfast is located right off the lobby it's clean, spacious and offered eggs made three different ways and several meat options. It also has waffles, bagels, cold cereal, coffee, juice, etc. there is a pool and other amenities, but I was only here for one night and cannot rate. My room was amazing -- I had a separate living area where I could work, a full kitchen and an incredibly comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious and had a shower. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If you are staying in the area, I would choose this hotel. read more

For an industrial town, this hotel is amazing! For $159 a night, we were able to secure a suite with a king bed, a kitchen, a living room and a desk with a bright lamp. I was pleased with our stay because it felt like we had our own little private space with a kitchen, a fridge, a microwave, eating utensils and all other gadgets. There is free wifi, ample parking and an indoor pool. I would definitely come back here to stay on our next visit. One minor problem we had was the toilet got stuck and could not flush. We called the receptionist and she came up right away with a snake plumber. After 5 minutes of working on the toilet, the problem got fixed. We were a bit embarrassed about the situation but customer service made us feel that it was their duty to make things as easy as possible. There were only a few hotels in the area but this one has the following establishments within walking distance: IHOP, Lowe's, Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ruby Tuesday, and more. That's more than enough for a few days stay. Very convenient location and highly recommended. read more

I have stayed here twice this year, 16 days total, and this hotel is my favorite of all time. As others have noted, all the staff are super friendly and helpful, but there are two other things which really stand out for me. The first of these is the full breakfast they serve every morning. It's no crappy continental breakfast; it includes literally everything you could possibly want for breakfast, and it changes day to day. Most items are served every day, but some rotate. One day they will serve andouille sausage and chicken sausage, another day maybe bacon and corned beef hash, another day pork sausage and turkey sausage. It's just great. The other thing I especially like is the room layout. I have stayed in the studio king both times, and it really suits me. It has a really large tv (55" maybe?) which is on a swivel so you can point it at the bed for watching in bed, or point it at the dining table for watching while you eat, or you can point it at the couch or work desk for watching from there. I just love that swivel feature. The room also has a full kitchen (fridge, micro, stove, dishwasher, kitchen utensils). I should also mention they serve complimentary snacks in the early evening on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays. These offerings also change day to day. I think these are a very nice enjoyable touch as well. As others have also pointed out, it is very conveniently located, with numerous restaurants and so forth very nearby. All in all, the place hasn't got a single deficiency I can name. Just a great place to stay when you are in town. read more

The team at the Residence Inn set us up at another hotel in the area at no cost to us due to the inconvenience. After attempting to use the Marriot Bonvoy method online and not finding exactly what I needed, I called the Residence Inn by Marriot Auburn directly. (NAME) answered the phone and was able to not only find an available room that I required​ but was able to book it over the phone (at no additional fee) and utilized my Marriot Bonvoy membership number to make sure the appropriate points were added. Perfection! While here, I utilized the outdoor fire pit area, the pool, the laundry facility, and of course the excellent complimentary breakfast! No complaints as all exceded expectations. Every staff member we came in contact with went above and beyond to assist us whether it was for driving directions or looking for somewhere local to dine. The people here are professional, friendly and helpful. Check-In was easy and we got an upgraded room. The room was clean and a typical Residence Inn suite. I had to borrow a pitcher so I could make ice tea. Furnishings had a little wear-and-tear but nothing getting upset about (other reviewer comments). Cleaning staff did an excellent job and cleaned the room based on my schedule, not theirs' (which I greatly appreciated). The grounds were well-maintained-- There's an outdoor basketball hoop. Hotel is located across the street from several restaurants, a Starbucks, and a shopping center. A Walmart is within easy walking distance. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare. The food manager did an excellent job of keeping everything well-stocked. She was very friendly and many guests spoke, and joked, with her. She also oversaw the evening events. We didn't partake (except to grab a cookie on the way out to dinner), but everything looked great and they were well-attended. I didn't use the pool but saw it was a nice size and it looked clean (indoor pool). I did use the fitness center, which had two treadmills, a stairmaster, a recline bike, a set of barbells, some floor mats, and an exercise ball. There was a large wall tv. Very clean. My complaints are: Extremely hot inside. I left drenched every day. No towels the second day. Water cooler was empty the third day. Did I mention it was ridiculously hot? read more

The rooms were seemed better than your average Residence Inn and the bed was certainly cozy. I think the best part of the stay was the friendliness of the hotel staff, which was very inviting. Great hotel had to stay here for a week 3 weeks ago when I moved to Maine. I thought I had my reservation but I did not but the manager made accommodations for me and booked my week stay. the manager also called other hotels for me in the area to ensure I didn't have a reservation else where so I was not charged at a different location. The pool is very nice had a great swim. The breakfast was great had fresh fruit and other options. They also have social hour Monday Tuesday and Wednesday's... in addition the residents In making you feel as if you are at home they have daily quotes and fun facts on a board in the lobby!! My family stayed here while visiting me during a summer internship in Auburn. They plan to stay here again this upcoming summer, and there's a good reason for that. This is a newer hotel, so naturally everything is so far well kept up. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and I enjoyed visiting my family here. The hotel is located conveniently next to a wal mart, and a grocery store/starbucks/auburn mall is only a short drive away. Additionally, the staff will help you find pretty much anything you could possibly need. The staff at this hotel is incredible. We purchased some lobster one night for a family feast, and the front desk helped us out with cooking the meal, taught us how to actually cut into a lobster properly to get the most meat, they lent us extra pots and pans, and they washed our dishes in the commercial dishwasher afterwards. It really was a great memory of our stay. There is a grill unit outside that residents are free to use, along with an outdoor seating/patio area, and an indoor pool. Hot hors d'oeuvres were served many nights, and breakfast every day. All of it was delicious. Our experience here was awesome, and I am excited that my family will be returning. read more

We stayed here because they allow dogs. The room was spacious and the bed was huge for a single bedroom suite. Everything was clean if somewhat worn down. The room didn't have an iron, which we needed and house keeping was pretty quick about getting us one, expect the first one they got us was broken. The second worked just fine. Our dogs were happy with the room. So were we. They only put a single shampoo and conditioner in the shower for 2 people. While there is a Rite Aid down the street, for people who are staying only one night, it makes sense to give 2 shampoos and conditioners. That way the guests don't have to beg for more shampoo or travel down to Rite Aid to buy their own bottle. The one gripe we had about this place, was that one of our washcloths was stained. having worked in a house cleaning before- when stained the washcloths become cleaning rags. Not folded up and put back out for guests to use. gross. Anyway, if you are looking for a decent place to stay with loads of space this is a good bet, but bring your own shampoo. read more

I stayed here for work reasons and have been quite impressed. I was greeted with a nice upgrade as i checked in. The rooms were modern and clean. I felt i was able to relax and sleep in two separate rooms, which was nice. I was able to finish work at the desk and didnt have to use the bed, which was nice. The breakfast was a nice selection of hot bar, waffles, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal. It was delicious. The staff have been very friendly and accomodating. read more

All in all, the nicest hotel I've stayed in, in the area. But the wifi is miserably slow, around 0.5Mb tonight, not even enough to get stable blurry wifi. Fridge, microwave, oven, full sink and kitchen area is lovely. And a large shower instead of the tub. Bed is decent, pillows aren't great, but I rarely like hotel pillows. read more

First and foremost, the rating is not so good, but I would still stay here, again, and recommend it to anyone. Generally, if there is one or two minor issues with a hotel, I still give them 4 or 5 stars, but our visit to this place left me with no alternative, but to be fair and have to mark it down 2 stars. I'll start with the negatives and end with the positives. I attempted to use the Marriott phone app, but it was having issues. That's not their fault. I called the hotel directly to see if our room was ready an hour earlier than checkin. Any time I call a hotel directly, the person answering always answers my questions. It took me almost 30 minutes to get through this line that was constantly busy, which took me by surprise. I don't recall receiving a busy signal at a business for a long time. When I got through, I was put through to reservations. I had to wait on hold for a few minutes. Due to time constraints after the busy line and the wait, I hung up and called back, again, and asked if there was someone else I could talk to, because I couldn't wait any longer. The same woman immediately brought up the information and said it was ready. Why couldn't she do that the first time I called? Apparently, there was some confusion when my husband arrived and he chalked it off to someone going through training. The front desk staff were not very attentive, didn't have answers to basic questions and our perception, compared to other Marriott hotels we have stayed at, was below the usual expectation we had become accustomed to. We reserved and was guaranteed a disability room, but did not get it. I arrived after my husband so my husband chose to not make a fuss. Not having those assistant bars in the bathroom for someone who has Parkinson's is important. There was hair on the shower walls. There were 3 paper towels left on the roll with no replacement roll in the room or any napkins. When I was assisting my husband into the shower (no grab bars), I went to hand him the shampoo and conditioner. One bottle was completely empty and what I thought was conditioner, was 1/2 empty. It wasn't until I had to go to the front desk, again, to obtain shampoo and conditioner, that I discovered I originally had 2 bottles of shampoo in the room leaving me with no conditioner at all. I've also never come across a pull out couch not being made at other hotels. Usually, at least the sheets, but this location does not make their pull out beds at all. Ironically, I think it makes sense not to make them in an effort to be sure there are clean linens. Now for the good! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Everyone was very nice, the BBQ was very well stocked (Tuesday nights), there is a safe in the room, the hotel is in good condition. I didn't see anything that needed maintenance. They have ample, convenient parking, easy location to get to, very nice indoor pool and outdoor seating with a fire pit. They have good options at breakfast (well stocked). Healthy options. After all is said and done, I would stay here, again! So, take all the bad aside, it's stuff that can be fixed. I would still recommend to stay here. read more

This hotel was great. The staff was top notch. They were very friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable of the area. It was very clean. My room was HUGE! It had a lovely kitchen, living area. I love how the TV is able to swivel from the living area to the bedroom area. The bathroom was big and very clean. I had to do laundry after a week of traveling and they had a very nice, clean laundry room, and they provided free detergent for their guests. The hotel is located near many great shops and restaurants. It was a very quiet hotel and I had no issues whatsoever. And it was just over $100 a night, which was an incredible deal. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again! read more

My family stayed for 4 nights.  The suite was nice and roomy, but the beds could have been more comfortable.  The placement of the towel rack underneath the bathroom sink right in front of your knees caused the towels to fall most of the time.  Poor planning.  The towel rack should be above the sink counter.  The bathroom fans were noisy, our toilet needed fixing and the sliding mirrored closet doors fell off the track.  But these were minor things overall.  Breakfast was very good.  The reason for 2 stars is the pet friendly policy.  A dog relieved itself in the front walkway and it wasn't cleaned up, despite the poop bags outside.  I notified the front desk who cleaned it.  Though it may seem very marketable for a hotel to allow pets, this is really a poor policy because in reality, most dog owners don't train their dogs, nor do they clean up after them.  A service dog certificate can be mailed to anyone who pays $20 online.  This is a huge turnoff for the rest of the guests.  Now I have to wonder if some dog's dirty ass was sleeping on the bed I just slept on.  Will I have fleas now?  Marriott should get off the pet-friendly bandwagon and rethink this policy.  It's a shame because the staff was welcoming and professional. read more

We stayed here with our Marriott points in a one bedroom suite. At first, we were pretty impressed. But things deteriorated rapidly. The dining table leg was broken. There was popcorn between the couch and chair. Then when I was doing my push-ups, I found more popcorn kernels. The clincher was the black mold on the shower curtain. We informed the staff and nothing was done except to send housekeeping. Definitely will not return here in the future. It's too bad because from outward appearance it seemed like a nice hotel. read more

Nice property. I travel a lot for work so I was able to stay with the family on my points for the weekend. We had a one bedroom suite and it was plenty of room. The pool area was nice with a huge hot tub. The kids loved the breakfast with its variety. I have to say the staff was accommodating when we need things like pillow or towels. No real complaints except for the wifi signal not working in my room. I called and mentioned it and they tried a few things, but it was to no avail. I used the hard wire for my computer but had to used the data on my phone. read more

This residence inn gives all locations a horrible name. Residence / Marriott prides themselves on making you feel at home which is why we always choose to stay with them everywhere we go. This location is horribly ran, incompetent management which favors their friendly clique of employees over customers basic needs.
