Roadtrip thru Maine, the New England area is known beautiful scenery and of course fresh seafood! Unfortunately the lodging is expensive and you really have to research before booking. I booked this hotel on booking.com for a one night stop over. The reviews were descent for the most part, honestly I took a chance. Once inside the place smelt fishy in the lobby. The place looked old and run down, in need of refurbishing. Our room was old, dead bugs on lamps, floor, stains on wall, curtains soiled, toilet wouldn't flush, sinks- bathtubs stained, hair in bed and bedding dirty. They haven't vacuumed I'm assuming in months. The place was disgusting. This area is very expensive, $220 per night. Yes, I went straight to the front desk with the issues, the lady was nice and apologized. This was a huge inconvenience to my family, we had a long travel day. But from now on if a hotel doesn't have a solid 5*on Yelp or a solid 9 or 10 on booking.com I will never spend my hard earned money. *Some people don't need to be in the hospitality industry period. Integrity and good customer service need to be number one for a successful business. Tip: I will be staying in a RV at a campsite in the near future, much cleaner. I'm sick of spending money on filthy hotel rooms in the USA. Personally since Covid things have gotten worse with businesses everywhere. No excuses when it comes to my money and time. Booked a single room with 2 beds for one night. We arrived, fellow at the desk said we had TWO rooms. I said, No, I booked ONE room. He said it must be "a glitch." I thought he would just cancel the other booking. We went to the room. We then found that it had no toilet paper, and the phone in the room did not work. Dead. And 5 days after we checked out, my credit card was billed another $25 because they said we took 2 of their towels. We did not. When I called them, I had to have an argument to convince them that we did not steal their towels. And now I'm in a fight to try to get them to refund the $224 for the second room. They are totally unfriendly and sleazy. Don't go to this awful place. read more

Stayed there April 24 2024 . Had to be moved from the first room for stains on the bed and hair in the bathtub and the television didn't work. Got settled into the 2nd room and turned on the bathtub and out came brown water . I took pictures of the brown water coming out of the tap in the tub and the sink to show the owner and he said oh , someone is coming to look at it today . That's all . Dirty place . We were helped by Sony, who was incredibly helpful and despite the late hour, very patient. Sony would have left us a key had we been later. The hotel personnel felt like family. Everyone was incredibly personable and helpful. Our shuttles to and from the airport were fast, efficient, and comfortable. We needed to leave at 3am to catch our flight and the driver was waiting and so happy to assist us...even gave us hugs! The room was clean and comfortable with calming colors and decor. All four members of my family slept great in the beds. The shower was nice and had great water pressure. We enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning. There were Donuts, bagels, and different breads to enjoy along with a waffle maker. We also had a variety of fruit and a few hot choices as well. Cereal, oatmeal, and yogurt were also available. The location was great. We were near the mall which had food choices as well as near a variety of restaurants that delivered via Uber eats. From this location we were able to Uber to Old Orchard Beach and Pine Point Beach within 20 minutes and our ride to downtown Portland was about 10 minutes. We would choose to stay at this hotel without any hesitations if we were to visit again. read more

BEWARE! Do not stay here! I meant to book the Casco Bay Hotel in South Portland but booked this location instead (they are not affiliated). You would be better off sleeping in your car. The minute you walk into the lobby you will know it was a mistake. It smelled like urine covered up with lemon disinfectant. The room smelled worse! The toilet leaked and the sink was filthy; the tv is the size of a postage stamp and the deadlock didn't work. The fact that they charged me $250 a night is criminal. They wouldn't move us to a different room or give a discount. Any positive reviews on this place are either fake or they meant to leave it for the Casco Bay Hotel in south Portland. We found Casco Bay on the internet and got a very good price. We got a first floor room on the back side that had a very convenient secure entrance. The room was spacious and included a frig and micro wave. The staff was also very friendly and were very happy to help whenever asked. The breakfast was continental style and had a good variety of things. If you left hungry it was your own fault. It's not fancy but, it's convenient, close to activities and reasonable. I will not hesitate to stay here again when I'm in the area. read more

We made a trip to New England in August. I was shocked at how expensive lodging is in the upper northeast. 4 star hotels here in Baltimore would cost as much as discount lodging in New England, though New England places would lack the armed robberies, homeless people, and constant sirens. Casco Bay Inn was the most reasonably priced place I could find that still had any vacancies when I booked 2-weeks out. I believe it's a family-owned motel. It seems old and dated, and the ceilings are low, but everything was clean and orderly. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were nice. Didn't get to have breakfast as we needed to leave before it started. The staff was friendly. It's close to the highway, but food places are a little drive away. The hotel is 20 minutes from downtown Portland. read more

Stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. Was able to make a last minute reservation the weekend before and the price was decent for two queen beds. Hotel is off a main road but we couldnt hear any traffic. It was a quaint place, and i really liked the little sitting area and outdoor eating area. Our room was at the back and we were able to utilize a separate secure entrance for convenience. Our room was a good size, very very clean, and comfortable. There is a good size tub, great hot water and pressure, and a separate second sink outside the bathroom. We had a microwave and a fridge as well. My traveling companion did have a fear of dogs and there is a dog on the premises and i believe this is a pet friendly place. I don't mind but it should be mentioned for those who have issues. We never saw the dog. It is also close to the Freeport outlet area and is convenient to highways and portland. All in all i would stay here again and have already recommended it to coworkers. read more

A great bargain! Clean, spacious well-kept rooms with refrigerators, coffee makers and refrigerators. Front desk staff (Kate?) was very friendly and helpful in resolving a problem I had with the cable TV service in my room. Other reviewers expressed disappointment with the continental breakfast. Keep in mind that Casco Bay Inn charges much less per night than the major chains in the area - I'm sure they keep costs down by avoiding frills such as full hot breakfasts. There are several cafes and restaurants nearby that serve breakfast if you want more than they offer at the hotel. All in all an excellent value, and I would gladly stay here when I am in the area again. read more

I recently stayed here this past weekend with my mom. the owners Scott and his wife were nothing but wonderful. The hotel is nothing fancy but exactly what you need, I felt right at home. the owners made it a point to get to know their guests, and the continental breakfast was nice (even had fresh home baked goods). We just stayed here this weekend for "girls weekend", for the price it was awesome! Very clean, nice size rooms, the shower was great & we loved the BYOB lounge they had available with fireplace, TV & a popcorn machine. Very cute & comfortable! The only "complaint" I would have is the owner is a bit of a grouch & she made us kinda feel bad that we kicked her out of her "livingroom" by taking over the lounge, honestly if you don't want people in it, lock it! They also had the cutest outdoor deck that had tables & chairs and nice landscaping, too bad the rain kept us for hanging out there all night! All in all a good place to stay for cheap!! read more

We came last minute for Labor Day. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the price was very reasonable. Overall a good value. I didn't give it a 5 because breakfast wasn't anything great, but there again, coffee was good, they had cereal, bagels, English muffins, etc. so the basics, if they had muffins and Danish that were not in plastic wrappers it would give it a more homey feel. Spent the night... Clean room. Good wifi. Ample parking. Nice shower... plenty of towels and such. Friendly staff and great dog. It is a good as you are going to get in this hotel class... it is not a Hyatt... it is a motel / inn and as such it is as good as you are going to find in the area. If you are looking for a nice place to overnight and don't want to break the bank... pull in and enjoy your stay. It is a short drive to town, but it is less money out of your pocket. read more

Well It looks like no one left a review in awhile on Yelp and I'm not really sure why! This was an absolutely awesome place to stay in Freeport. Me and by girlfriend came up to Maine for the 4th of July and were looking for a place last minute to stay, luckily the Casco Bay Inn had some open space. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming and very accommodating. They knew we were coming and that it was a hot few days so they were sure to have the A/C running well ahead of time. The place was incredibly clean and very homey. They have an amazing bar area where you can hangout with family and a wonderful breakfast area. The entire staff was extremely inviting and happy to see us, everyone we saw always said "Hello". On top of that the worst thing that could have happened for a hotel, did. At around 12 AM the power went out, and it wasn't just this hotel, it was ALL OF FREEPORT! When we woke up in the morning around 8 AM the power was still out. We realized there wasn't much the hotel could have done so we went downstairs to get more. information and to our astonishment... THEY WERE SERVING BREAKFAST!! Hot coffee, cold yogurt, bagels, eggs, you name it! The hotel brought in a generator to keep the fridge running and the coffee pots brewing knowing people were going to be a little concerned about the power outage! I was absolutely amazed that a hotel would go through this amount of trouble to make sure we received a hot breakfast in the morning despite the poor situation we were all in. My checkout process was seamless and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the future when I come to visit! Thank you Casco Bay Inn Team! read more

This is our second stay and it won't be the last. The rooms are spotlessly clean and roomy. The bathroom has plenty of towels and amenities. The continental breakfast is better than most with hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, a selection of breads and cereals. The lady who is in charge of the breakfast room is constantly replenishing the items and cleaning the tables as needed. We've stayed at some five star hotels that were not as well maintained as this gem. Lovely! read more

Much nicer than a standard motel. It has indoor corridors, large sized rooms, and the coziest breakfast room with a very hard working attendant who makes sure you are well taken care of.
