The bed was comfortable, plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. This hotel is also SUPER conveniently located in the heart of downtown Decatur, walking distance from a plethora of coffee shops, boutique stores, restaurants, and bars.

Are you checking out today?" I told him to come back later and I had late check out. He still continues to have a conversation with me still standing with my door ajar and proceeds to ask "what time are you leaving"? Are you serious right now? We are having a back and forth early in the morning about when I'm going to leave because he did not have the courtesy to make an effort and find out first which rooms have a late check out, and even after I informed him I have a late check out, he continued to inconvenience me and ask me further questions about when I will leave for his convenience's sake. My father recently passed, I cannot sleep or stay asleep easily. He woke up an insomniac that specifically requested the hotel for a late check out. I do not appreciate that. I did not want to be disturbed or awakened in the morning. I had to wake up early and decide what time I had to leave, for housekeeping's convenience. I was forced to speak with housekeeping, who entered my room without my permission... also during check in, I saw several bugs scurrying about on the floor... so hygiene and cleanliness is questionable too. Just a horrible experience all around. I would not recommend if you want a pleasant experience with smiling faces and hospitality oriented attitudes. Being from the hospitality industry myself, I am flabbergasted at this hotel and accompanying restaurant, platez, as a customer.

Shocking how many hotel ACs make noise but never cool the room. 2. Shower had hot water! Makes a big difference to my workday to start with a hot shower. 3. The Keurig in the room had herbal tea cups! I have never seen a hotel offer anything but coffee or black tea. The lemon ethenacia tea helped with my allergies. Staff were courteous & helpful. When we asked about a cleaning schedule, a lady said, " You just got here, we don't clean after just a few days, and we don't have anyone to do it until next week." HUH? And we have a towel limit, also only 2. No one knew the code for the laundry room; it took 2 days to get the 1234 code!! The staff was all new, and if we had a complaint on Friday, you were going to have to wait until Monday for the manager. Terrible!!

But, the bedding is comfortable, with cool AC, desks, working fridge/freezer, microwave, internet, etc. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and all amenities in our rooms worked. Cannot say the same for our stay at the Buckhead LaQuinta who had broken phones and internet. Not a large variety for breakfast but good quality brands of cereal, milk, pastries, yogurt, etc. The coffee is Starbucks and they keep it going hot until 10 pm! I will stay here if my Dad needs to return.

I decided to use it in a Friday night as a refresher before my all work weekend. The location is in Midtown on Ponce De Leon. Very convenient location. It is central to a lot of businesses and restaurants. I arrived at check in and presented my paperwork for a free nights stay. I thought I would need to provide my credit card for incidentals but that was not the case. My room was a corner room. Impressive right away. I have never had a hotel room that had a hallway. Yes a hallway. The room was large and had additional seating. Let me add that this is a boutique style hotel. It has very eccentric and eclectic decor. The most amazing thing to me was the bathroom. It was huge and well laid out. There was a separate room for the toilet and to my surprise it had a windows in there. Never have I ever seen that before. I enjoyed using all of the amenities. And some revenue opportunities. One other suggestion would be to have some beverages, coffee and sodas brought into the conference rooms themselves as walking to them is nice for a stretch, but you can miss some of the presentation. We didn't have a coffee pot as it was missing. The sink drains slower than molasses which was quite unpleasant. Also, the doors are as thin as paper, we were woken by loud slamming. The positives were that the front desk staff was very nice and professional, the parking was very accessible, and there were bars all throughout (coffee and alcohol). There was also a very nice view of the courtyard in our room. Overall, the price point matches and it's good if you're coming to a conference or competition with family, however as far as a comfortable clean staycation? Would not recommend.

This Marriott is a bit peculiar. It's in the form of a giant concrete triangular atrium, it's cold…read moreand uninviting. But I admit that's a matter of taste. Though a glorified motel, like some others it charges for parking and sometimes getting in and out of the lot was a hassle. It is not near anything, so walking to something is out of the question. The hotel has the look of having central air conditioning. However, each room is on its own with attendant noise, so if you are a light sleeper, better to look elsewhere. Also, located next to a highway there's a good deal of highway noise. We found the pillows old and lumpy. The bathrooms are strange in 2 ways. The door is a very heavy sliding door and without a defined stop. Also, in our room the floor hardware for the door was loose. And a small, but weird problem: the toilet paper dispenser is on the wall in back of the toilet. Very difficult to use. Also the bathroom light is a the mirror light so bright as to make the mirror useless as a mirror. Also, no night light. There is a coffee station facing the elevators, but it was so poorly serviced that we never could use it. There was no dresser in the room and only two available small drawers of poor quality. Many things, including lobby furniture were showing its age. While we were there the mechanical front door was broken. At one point the wi-fi went down. I called the front desk and they gave me the phone number of their wi-fi service people. It turned out that it was not a working number. When I called the desk back I asked why I had to make such a call and not them. The answer was, "We don't do that." In 2026 and with the Marriott brand, we expected better. Next time in Atlanta, we'll look elsewhere.
