Told to not leave my trash by my door even though I'm not the only one and was directed by other staff to do this
    Christina A.

Let me say that I am staying here for work requirements or I would have left the first night. The first night I asked for quarters for the laundry ($2 wash and $2 dry) and the poor lady at the front said they didn't leave her any change. Because of COVID complimentary breakfast consists of an apple, granola bar, and bottle of water. I informed the front desk of the phones not working but after day 5 they still call my room and get upset when I don't answer. In the room there are several things missing like glasses, plates, bottle opener (broken) and the shower did not drain correctly and was spotty with mold. The hide away bed did not have sheets and when I asked for a comforter and pillow Lee the night staff stated that she had no pillows. I asked her to please bring the comforter and she said no she was busy and would leave it at the front. I explained that I was in for the night and after she helped a guest to please bring me the comforter and she hung up on me. Lee the night staff brought me the comforter to my room but then stated that I could not place trash in the hallway for pick up (something I was told by other staff to do and a regular custom in other hotels.) I asked Lee about the other trash in the hall and she turned an walked away. Needless to say I pulled the trash into my room as I was told. Been on the road for months and it's Father's Day weekend. This hotel and the staff Lee has made me even more home sick

I came to Texarkana for a work and family trip. I needed to quarantine after my flight and decided on this hotel. It had good ratings, reasonable prices, a full kitchen/work area, and close to Target. Upon checking in that evening, the gentleman working the front desk was sitting in the lounge area. He was talking on the phone and not wearing a mask. He came over to the front desk, which does have a transparent barrier between you and the clerk. However, him not wearing a mask and walking around the lobby upset me very much. He needed a card for incidentals, which is standard practice. We handed him over three different cards, which he insisted did not work. We finally got one to go through after 15 minutes. It turns out he charged a full $280 on one card and then the $60 on another. This upset me very much because I had already pre-paid for the room through hotels.com. I went downstairs the next day to try and get the charge reversed. Again, some front desk employees were not wearing masks, and it took over 30 minutes and multiple employees to figure out how to issue a refund. We are still waiting for the pending charge to drop. I advised the desk clerk that I was upset about employees not wearing masks. I told him about my check-in experience and explained this was the whole reason for being here to quarantine. All I received was an apology. No reassurance; this would be addressed to the employees. The hotel was not sanitary. I had to re-wash all the dishes and utensils in the dishwasher; I bought cleaner to wipe down the outside of the fridge, microwave, countertops, and all other surface areas. The pans provided in the room were overused and made everything I cook taste horrible. I used the microwave for the rest of my stay. This upset me because I am on a special diet and had purchased groceries for cooking on the stove. This hotel is by Target and other stores, which is a plus. Another reason why I chose the hotel. Please see below the full list and photos of the issues I had with the hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I will be reporting to the OSHA and Marriott corporate regarding COVID issues. Hotel- Not clean Some of the staff did not wear masks Complimentary breakfast was of low quality Was overcharged on a credit card Workout room smelled They had an employee pizza party downstairs-(Wednesday, November 11th) Not socially distanced, in the main lobby area, no masks, and all pizzas gathered together. NOT CDC GUIDELINES Room- Was not very clean/sanitary One of the two stove tops worked The bathroom door didn't want to close Dishes were dirty Outlet missing by the bed TV- The cable guide didn't work The fridge made a high pitched noise

Cracked tile in the shower that didn't work so I did a sponge bath in the tony cracked tub

Aug 27-28 third floor: Toilet kept filling..all night. I would've given it zero stars if possible, but gave it two because the staff and construction workers were some of the nicest people I had come across at a hotel. However, if I had know they were doing construction, I would not have stayed there. No towel in bathroom- have to leave the bathroom to find the towels. But it didn't really matter because ... The shower didn't work. The bathtub faucet worked, but the valve to make it into a shower didn't work. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I was ready to get cleaned up and leave to check out. Bathtub was hardly large enough to take a bath in. Remodeling fumes! They were installing carpet as I was trying to check into my room! The carpet glue had a horrible fume, I couldn't believe it! Luke warm sausage at breakfast- not a deal breaker but I thought that good food was a given with Marriott breakfast. Dirty coffee cup in cupboard. Ugh! I've been a fan of Marriott Residence Inn for years, but after this experience, will start checking out other options. When I told the front desk that my shower didn't work, they said they would add some points to my account, which I haven't seen yet, and that was the whole consolation for not being able to take a shower. Good riddence, will start trying Hilton Garden Inn to see if that's a better experience.

Here is where the water was leaking through the ceiling.

Let's see I didn't get the complimentary upgrade. My status was not recognized. The icing on the cake we woke up to water coming through our ceiling in the kitchen area. When we called the front desk to tell them they said if there was a room available they would see about moving us in an hour or two. It took over an hour for them to get us moved only after I had to get very testy with the lady at the front desk. When she did get us moved she acted like said she was going to upgrade us in our room with no extra charge. All I can think is oh the upgrade that I'm supposed to get automatically. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms was dirty the front desk staff could care less if you ever had repeat customers

I know that there have been some negative reviews, but I don't know why. I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. Price was good. Room was friggin fantastic. Breakfast was great (I love waffles!). And they even had a "mixer" in the evening with free sandwiches (good sandwiches!) and FREE BEER!

Breakfast brought to my room to apologize for an unfortunate experience with the night desk clerk. Thank you Residence Inn.

Amendment to an earlier post based on the hotel's response to an unfortunate experience with the night desk clerk. The general manager was very empathetic, brought me breakfast (room service not available here) and sincerely apologized for my night. Residence Inn allowed me late check out to make up for the lack of sleep. I would stay here again, calling in advance to ensure I do not get a room next to the elevator. "This place is horrible. I booked/paid in advance, mobile check-in with a phone call the day prior and the only room available for me is next to the elevator. As a rewards member I expected better. I'm here at 12am waiting for the front desk clerk to clean a room I requested yesterday. They're dropping the room rate and letting me check out late but overall this experience has been horrendous."

Front desk was…read moreawesome and expedited upon check in (I used the Marriott Bonvoy app to book, which probably made it easier), we were tired and I wasn't up to needing any excess effort. Paper thin walls mean you can hear the highway traffic all night, plus you can hear the very loud business man conducting calls in the next room starting at 5AM. Bed is comfortable, pillows: if you need firm, bring your own, there are light and fluffy ones and some medium fluffy ones that cater to back sleepers. The shower worked odd, where you'd normally push to turn off the shower in that type of handle, you pushed to turn it ON, and that produced pretty low water pressure. Now, whether that water pressure is just normal, or from a misconfigured handle, who knows. Breakfast was decent, but the breakfast area was a wreck with 1.5h left in the breakfast period. Food all over the counters, empty bread bins, empty milk jugs, and the attendant nowhere to be found. A lady with a midwestern accent had to knock on the service door to ask for more milk. I would have been more satisfied had I paid half the rate I did, but at the rate, I feel I should have just paid the $60 more to stay at the nicer, sister hotel across the highway. This one has "I don't care" written all over it.

There was free breakfast in the morning and the staff was friendly. The location isn't great as it's not walkable to any food spots or anything really. I wouldn't stay here again for sure.
