I want to the front desk to request an additional key card for my wife. I was greeted by Jenna who was super helpful. While in the lobby I saw several people checking in with their dogs. Since I am not a pet owner I was curious about hotel cleanliness and maintenance protocols for rooms that animals have been staying in. This hotel is located on the Texas side of Texarkana (there is another/different Hampton Inn & Suites on the Arkansas side of Texarkana). Our stay was..... okay; nothing great to write about. The room was clean and had all the basics. One major complaint is with the toilets. We at first thought that it was broken, because after flushing the toilet the tank takes soooo long to refill. There is no way for someone to use the toilet immediately after you. There has to be a wait time of about 5 minutes to give the toilets time to reset. It was strange. When we called the front office to report the issue, you could tell by the tone and explanation from the worker that this was NOT this first time a guest complained about this issue, nor would it be the last. One thing I was pleased about was the large spread for breakfast. There was something for everyone! If there was an area for improvement, I would suggest prepping more food at a time. There was a worker who was constantly refilling breakfast food items, but the food was getting eaten/taken faster than she could make it. She was preparing very small portions at a time. I get that they don't want to make a surplus and are trying to avoid waste, but people were waiting 10+ minutes at a time for more eggs, biscuits, milk, etc. It was very inconvenient and affected temperature of food when eating. I know, I know.... This is a first world problem. But our waffles were cold and cereal was soggy because we waited for more eggs and sausage (over 10 minutes). read more

We are righting this review after 3 weeks of trying to get our money back. We paid for the hotel, went for dinner then came back maybe an hour later and brought our stuff up to the room. We could not stay here because of the smell of mold in our room. My wife has an auto immune conditions that affects her breathing.. We went and stayed at another hotel near by. We were on our way to the Diamond Park and stayed here. Like any other Hampton, our room was clean, the staff was very nice, and the breakfast was good for our kids with cereal, bagels and muffins. Highly recommend if you're in the area. There is also an Olive Garden in walking distance. read more

Absolutely feel taken advantage of by both Expedia and the Hilton hotel. We paid $170 for one night in one of the smallest unequipped rooms we have been in. Pillows are tiny, room is tiny, bed is uncomfortable, gym is poor quality with broken equipment, among many other complaints. The staff tells us after we get in our room and complain that this is a "standard room" for Hotels.com aka Expedia and is different from a standard room that you book from Hilton which is much bigger and nicer. The Hilton staff seem very well trained to blame everything on Expedia. There is a Holiday Inn next door that we would recommend people stay at. I was expecting a better hotel than the best Western plus Memphis galleria. And it was. The good things about this hotel is the beds were comfy and the air conditioner acted as a sound machine, which helped me sleep. When I woke up I went to take a shower and somebody said that the shower wasn't draining but it did when I took a shower. The breakfast was edible and the bitter bean juice was ok. It didn't have that many options though. These are the things that I will improve on. When we walked in the hotel room had a horrible smell. It was like some cleaning product. Arrived earlier then expected due to tornado warnings and rain. Was able to get remote key and go straight to the room. Nicely kept up n a/c ran cold, beds were comfortable and love the bar soaps n mouthwash provided. I do enjoy the shower gel, shampoo n lotion provided in the big jars too. Slept like a baby. Morning breakfast omelette with cheese n peppers hit the spot along with sliced smoked sausage ( needs to be padded off before serving), but coffee was smooth n warming. I've stayed here twice now, I'm not ally a Hilton garden inn kinda guy but this place was available for a better rate so here I was. One of my pet peeves when staying in hotels are the kind that do not allow the fan to stay on throughout the night. I've actually gotten refunds from places who don't offer it. Cannot stand it. This place you'll be happy to know, allows you to keep the fan on all night. So yay! So why 3 stars? It is a rack, ac stays on, clean? Because I've had issues with my keys every time I go there. Have to have them remade every time I leave the room I feel like. If it gets near your cell phone, it's dead. I made the mistake of having it 3 inches away and it killed it. So that is a frustration for me. I will say the rooms are clean, the lady at the front desk who I've seen twice is very polite and welcoming. And it's in a decent location. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past decade and it has gone downhill so much! I just spent a night there on August 1 and I found myself wanting to be at another hotel. The absolute WORST Hampton Inn that I've ever stayed in. God awful beds.

When entering the lobby it was filled with 20-25 people and hardly any had masks. I know this is not the hotels responsibility[well I dont know this states rules]. I got to my room and used the hand wipes left for me, and began to wipe off the light switches and common places. When I wiped the table lamp switches the wipe was blackened with grime --not dirty --black. Sadly it got worse---- when I stepped in the shower, there was a used bar of soap in one of the holders. im not sure how Hilton calls this "clean stay". If I could zero stars, I would. We checked in using the app and arrived to find the doors locked and no one answering the phone. The digital key on the app wouldn't work. We are Hilton Honors members and have never encountered this at a Hilton property. I was traveling with my husband and daughter and we were hoping to sleep a few hours before driving the rest of the way to Hot Springs. We ended up getting a room at a nearby hotel. My husband called to get our room refunded and they "are opening an investigation" into our claims. Nobody at front desk and you have to wait around forever to check in or get anyone. Elevators weren't working, but they can key you in and take you up or down. They said to call to get them to bring the elevator up when you need to come down... there are no phones in the rooms.... Staff didn't seem to want to be there at all. Room smelled old and musty. Moldy, moldy, moldy! I've been to many motels, but I don't believe that I have ever been to one that was so moldy! Upon entering the building the mold can be detected/smelled! I personally believe this motel should be razed, but wonder how they can stay in business. It wasn't just the front entrance part of the building that was moldy, but everywhere: the elevator, the room I was in, everywhere! Makes me wonder if this is the motel I was warned about several years ago by a gentleman who didn't mention the motel/hotel name, but worked there and said it has problems from day one. I have to give them 1 star this go-round. Housekeeping has really been slacking. This happened again where housekeeping does not do what we as "guest" expect. I came back to my room and no one from housekeeping has been here...at all. Yesterday they took my dirty towels and didn't replenish. Last week, they left my door ajar so someone could easily walk in and take what they wanted. It is VERY disappointing to experience these things, especially at a Hampton Inn. Can anyone give me at least another option of where to stay while working here in Texarkana, TX? I will be back here after the holidays and I am DONE with this Hampton Inn. NOW I wonder of they even bother to replace the sheets after a guest checks out. I am actually beginning to doubt it. Really really disappointed! Read a lot of reviews about this place. They obviously don't have a clue what they are talking about. Room Was clean but old and tired. Needs an update badly. Old tv with few old anolog stations, no HD channels. Ridiculous in 2015. Bathroom Shower head is old and barely works. Curtain shows a lot of wear. Breakfast Everyone especially on travel sites were raving about how good the breakfast is. Um was this your first visit in a hotel other than motel 6?? This is pathetic! I mean awful! I couldn't even eat. Staff All the reviews were amazed at the service. What??? They didn't know I was gold, didn't have my water and stuff ready even though I already checked in. Didn't upgrade me. Were very unhelpful. Another guest needed a cart and the lady was like, sorry I guess everyone took them. Bottom Line I feel fooled and will not be back. The Hilton Garden is SO much better right next door. Same price to, was just trying to do something different. I normally like Hampton but it is hit or miss which is why I took time to read, what I now know to be fake reviews. Please do yourself and family a favor, stay somewhere else! I may for the first time at a Hilton ask for a refund. UPDATE 01/01/16: They issued me a full refund, I only know this because it came through my email with an updated Folio. Overnight stay on our way to Austin turned out to be very pleasant, comfortable and convenient. This property is located adjacent to a shopping mall, close to the highway (but far enough away that you didn't get traffic noise) and great restaurants/amenities close by. Not a bad place to stay. I ended up staying here for quite a while because my company kept extending my stay out here. They rooms are nicely kept and they do have a pretty big flat screen. There is free internet (wifi and direct hook up). They have an indoor pool and a really small gym with no free weights but a bike set, elliptical and 2 running machines. There is a tv in the gym too. They have a small outdoor courtyard that noone uses but it is pretty nice if you have a day to yourself and just want to chill out in the sun by the room. The staff is very friendly and addressed me everytime I walked in which was nice. I did find some random long hairs in my towels every now and then which was the only draw back but they gave me 4 towels to use and they cleaned them every day so it wasn't too bad. The breakfast is different every day but once you stay there long enough, you'll notice that it is really the same things over and over again but at least there is a change in variety each time. Also, if you are a diamond VIP, you either get 2 bottles of water each day or 250 HHonors points. Not both at this location. read more

Attended the AR Governor's conference on tourism and booked this hotel because they had the friendliest staff. To be honest, I called the surrounding hotels first and the customer service was horrible. Anyway... Upon arrival I was greeted by the front desk and checked in. To my surprise, I was "guest of the day!"- how cute and cheesy is that? It was a small gesture that really went a long way. They gave me a gift and room keys and sent me on my way. Room was clean, bed was comfy and accessibility to wifi was easy. They have most major channels- even Bravo! I'm a huge bravo fan so I definitely loved that. Workout facilities were just enough, however, they could use a free-weight rack. It has two treadmills, a bike, one or two ellipticals, bench press and weight balls. I didn't eat the breakfast, but had their coffee and tea which wasn't anything to complain about. The wait staff was also super friendly, especially for the hours they work. Would definitely stay here again due to the hospitality. read more

The pictures posted for this place are old, the must have recently remodeled because they have a new snazzy modern decor now. The have free continental breakfast with waffle iron, steamed or hard boil eggs muffins fruit yogurt and all that. Was decent but not awesome. The room was very nicely decorated and fresh feeling and the bed was very easy to sleep in. Sheets and blanket were a nice texture as well. It was a decent stay, I'd go again. read more

The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was very clean. The only problems we encountered were a very loud creaking noise when the bathroom door opened or closed and it would stick on the door frame therefore you had to push it really hard to close it all the way. We also had only one large towel for showers and had to ask staff for another one. The check in staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. There's a microwave and large mini fridge in the room. I enjoyed the cookies in the lobby during the day. There is coffee, hot water, and tea bags available 24 hours in the lobby. Breakfast was good - eggs, oatmeal, toast, pastries, fruit, nuts, waffles, coffee, juice, milk, and sausage. The price was reasonable, a little over $200 for 3 nights. This will be my choice of hotel when I'm in the area and I highly recommend it. read more

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Nice breakfast. So why did I not give it 5 stars? We stayed in room 223 which happens to be directly above the swimming pool and it's noisy filter. All night long... Thump dum thump dum thump dum!!!! Alas we did not notice the noise while the TV was on...only after we settled in to sleep Soooooo if you choose this place, stay away from rooms on the pool side!, and if you do mention it at the front desk, be prepared to struggle to get the attention of the young woman at the front desk.......you have to tear her away from texting on her phone!!!! Where to start... I'm currently writing this review as we are currently checked in. We arrived first night after driving 6 hours with a toddler to a disgusting dirty room. We were told we could not switch rooms due to being booked up. We started cleaning up ourselves but noticed it was more than our Lysol wipes could handle. Informed the front desk & WE had to reclean our room with THIER cleaning products. Then to top it off, found a dirty sock under the bed skirt. Yuck! Making me wonder, did you even remove & move the bed sheets while vacuuming? After stripping & remaking the beds, covering all the stained furniture with remaining blankets we were offered a smaller room. We declined, what if we get another nasty room. The evening front desk women did offer to clean our room but having worked in the industry myself I know she is short handed & more or less the messenger. She informed us she would contact the Manager that evening & to make sure to re inform them when we checkout. When we checkout? No. Lets address it the following morning. That didn't happen. We were never approached, Manger didn't even reach out, not even an apologetic note. Mind blown. read more

DISREGARD ALL 5 STAR REVIEWS! Staff didn't have a smile on their faces at all. So we found out that you have to ask for extra pillows in the morning. We asked before we left around noon and when we came back, no extra pillows! So we went to the receptionist and asked for some and she said she just gave out the last six pillows! Um what? Typical Hampton Inn. My husband and I usually stay at them because they offer a great government rate and have breakfast in the morning. This location was no different. You almost always know what you're going to get when you stay at one of these. Good parking, conveniently located to restaurants, rooms were clean, and breakfast was good. The water tastes dirty, but that's not the hotels fault (not normally at least!) and I always hate hamptons pillows. They are those stupid down pillows that don't hold up when you lay on them. read more

We had a decent stay here. I have only 2 complaints. One, the pac n play/crib was disgustingly stained & even though I had my own crib sheet, it'd be nice if they offered them since the cribs are so disgusting. Two, my fridge didn't work. It was barely cool when I put my things in so I just adjusted the temp...but learned this morning that that didn't make a difference. If I'd had breast milk in there, I woulda been completely pissed off because it woulda been ruined!!! These things should be checked daily. It woulda easily been caught had they simply opened the freezer part & seen there was standing water on the tray in it. I was pretty disappointed especially since some of my food/drink was spoiled. I mentioned it & the staffer asked if I let sum1 know last night. Well, considering it was 11pm & I had a sleeping 8 mo old that I put in one of their gross cribs as soon as I got to my room, what exactly would they have done? Asked me to move my sleeping baby to another room??? They said & compensated nothing. Surprised & disappointed Hampton. Smh I gave 2 stars because I enjoyed their on-the-go breakfasting. This is a decent hotel. The rooms have Internet and flat screen TVs. There is an indoor pool and a small fitness room. A room with a king bed is $109, or $89 with a government discount rate. It's not five stars, but its clean so it's worth staying at. read more

My boyfriend and I have been traveling across country for the month and been staying in multiple hotels. This is by far the best one we've stayed in. It's right by a shopping mall and multiple restaurants. The front desk receptionists were very efficient and friendly. We payed about $90 a night and the hotels were very clean. We watched a few movies on the tv and lay in bed for the night. The mattress was extremely comfy. Microwave, fridge, TV (no DVD player though), neutrogena bath products (smelled great), lots of towels, adjustable thermostat, nice view, coffee maker, bath tub/shower. Great place! read more
