Stopped here on our recent road trip. Debated 3-stars or 4-stars. We booked this in advance after checking numerous other hotels in the area. Pros: -Hotel looked nice. Classy finishes. -Hotel was clean -Nice fitness center -indoor pool (unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it.) -Decent location -friendly staff -COMFY bed. Slept great! Cons: -no free breakfast. Cafe on site but extra fee. -coffee was out (supposed to be 24/7) -barely any ice available. Checked 2nd and 3rd floor machines -no wipes in fitness room to wipe off sweat So all in all, we had a pleasant stay, slept very well but were disappointed with the no coffee, no ice and no wipes. read more

Beautiful newly renovated hotel. Has a nice bar & kitchen in the spacious lobby. We were greeted by a very lovely young lady,Christian at the front desk. She was very polite and knowledgeable & accommodating. Then we went to our room which was very nice and updated. The pics on this Yelp account are not of the updated hotel. Then we went to the bar, where we met Heather, who was just the sweetest and made boss drinks - our food was prepared by Roscoe - Hands down the best bacon, beef quesadilla I have ever had - and my friend had his famous tomato soup which was on point!! These folks should be commended for their wonderful service to the public. Management should be very proud of them. Thanks for an amazing stay!!! read more

The ladies at the desk were very pleasant and kind. Always greeted us as we came and went and when I needed my room key reset they were very accommodating. The cleaning ladies only gave us 1 clean towel on day 3 of our stay and told us she did not have anymore clean towels to give us. She never returned at a later time that day to provide us with clean towels. The shower curtain had mold on it. The ice machine took forever to disperse ice. read more

Poorly maintained dirty hotel. We were shocked that these were the standards at a Marriott Courtyard. We called the corporate rewards line and were told that there was nothing they could do because it's a franchise. It was recently bought from another chain and they have not done a remodel yet. It was not ready for guests on any level. They were not willing to let us move to another Marriott hotel and refund our points. We've been Marriott members for many years. We will move to another brand. It appears that they are not enforcing quality standards for franchised brands. read more

had a great experience in this hotel! The staff was friendly and super helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The building is currently under renovation but this was a minor inconvenience. The elevators still worked and if you wanted to use the gym you could just go to the Townplace next door. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The lady at the front desk was very nice, but that was the only nice thing about this hotel. The carpet in the rooms was noticeably dirty. The carpet in the lobby area had parts where it was lifting causing there to be ridges on the ground. The rooms had roaches, both dead and alive. The bed skirt had white stains on it that appeared to be a certain kind dried bodily fluids. The ceiling above the shower was kind of crumbling. The drawers had other people's trash in them. The microwave was missing a leg which was replaced by a bottle cap. read more

Since I travel a lot and stay in mostly Marriott hotels, it's easy to compare hotels. This Courtyard is not as modern as others and has an older feel. Although older, it's still clean and comfortable. Always a plus when there's a refrigerator, plugs by the bed, large TV and a comfortable bed. Hotel has lots of parking and has your typical Bistro restaurant. Staff was very friendly. read more

Place is filthy. I travel for a living and send half the year in hotels. Always stay at Hilton and Marriott chains of mid to upper level. This is the dirtiest CY I have ever stayed at. The bathroom floor has never been mopped and the room surfaces never wiped. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Toilet was dirty as well as the tub. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Worse hotel stay ever. Overcharged for 1 night stay, unable to get anyone to answer the phone (rang for 10 minutes), called Marriott headquarters without any success in addressing the overcharge, tried to chat in app without any success, room lights were not all functional, bathroom door did not close, mold in bathtub, broken light switches, mini-fridge was horrible, and much more. Unfortunately, we were unable to change rooms. Will not stay at this hotel again and highly discourage anyone from staying there. read more

The whole night was a nightmare. If I used only one word to sum up this hotel room (130) it would be raggedy. I will give them a pass for the hot water not working when we first arrived because a pipe had burst upstairs. The maintenance man got that fixed. The whole reason I picked this hotel was because they have a jacuzzi tub. When I went to step into it, my foot slid out from under me because the bottom was so slick. My knee popped and I was in serious pain, which progressed throughout the night. The mattress was wore out and squeaked. When the heat kicked on it sounded like a hamster on a squeaky wheel with a constant drip of water. Just a miserable night with very little sleep. read more

Comfortable location but an older property with some updates. The water pressure was extremely weak and had to manipulate the shower to get it to stream water, plus the tub had a severe dip in the middle making you feel like you were in a very narrow canoe. Nice place for a night but would not consider it for an extended stay. The staff was very nice and friendly. read more

I can't say enough good things about our overnight stay at this hotel! Misty was at the front desk and she was AMAZING. We have 4 teen kids and we need 2 rooms these days, and I really feel best if there's a door connecting the rooms... Misty listened to me and figured out how to get me those 2 rooms... one wasn't cleaned yet, we were happy to hang in the clean room until the other was ready. Misty walked the room keys up to us (I told her I would run down!) when the other room was ready. We were so impressed with the customer service. Would definitely recommend! read more

The first room was not just dirty but the toilet was clogged with fecal matter. Clearly no one cleaned the bathroom. I went to the front desk to complain and was told they were sold out for the night and she could give me a plunger? When I told her there was no way I was plunging the toilet, the lady at the desk (who was super nice) said she would call maintenance/housekeeping to see if they would come... ultimately, we were moved to a new room which was also filthy. The shower liner was covered in mold, there was dirt on the walls, trash on the floor, and you physically stuck to the floor from filth. You would think a Marriott would have better cleaning standards. We stayed one night out of complete desperation but will never return... read more

Had a long drive and booked my stay on points last night...but it was past 12am and the website wouldn't let me book my stay for the night. My family was within 20 miles of the hotel and with one phone call, Tucker at the front desk was able to help us. He was awesome! We met the manager, Fredrick, at checkout and had a small issue with the room and he was all over it. Made me feel really valued!! 0 stars wasn't an option. We frequently travel for business and pleasure and stay at Marriott properties whenever possible. This one is permanently off the list. Notified at check in that the elevator was out of service and would need to take the stairs (it happens). The stairs hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time; got to our room and the room number is poorly attached to the wall (2 clues to what we were in for). The room was warm and musty and the AC unit was noisy, I turned down the AC and went for dinner. When we got back the room was still warm; I called the desk, no answer; walked to the desk and told the agent of the AC issue. They told me they were booked up and had no options to repair it till the next day. The bathroom wallpaper is falling off and the tub is a mess and doesn't drain. I went to the desk in the morning and shared my bad experience and asked to speak to a manager. They said there was nothing they could do and that the manager wasn't in and I would need to contact her. I emailed her 3 times and called and left voice messages twice with no response. I then called the hotel office back and they told me they would try to contact her and told me she was not in and put me back through to her voice mail - no response. This property and management is an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. read more

Very disappointing. In fact, this is the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced staying in a Marriott hotel. You can check out my pictures, but basically, the carpet and sofa were stained. Broken tile leads to the bathroom. Toothpaste residue on the wall by the sink. The thermostat had no batteries to adjust the temperature of the room, so I constantly had to swap batteries from the remote to the small 32" television. Went to the bar to get a martini last night and they had no olives or cocktail onions. I could have stayed at a nicer Best Western. Marriott should do some quality control! read more

This hotel was horrible. Needs a major deep cleaning. The beds were uncomfortable and the mattress was like sleeping on a piece of plywood with springs on top. The carpets were absolutely filthy and even the bed skirt was dirty which was a new experience for me. The shower had visible black mold in it and I wouldn't even take my shoes off. The staff was nice but this property needs some serious TLC, Marriott. We knew it wasn't five stars but I don't even think it was worth the $100 paid to stay there. If you're going to Texarkana, there are better Marriott options than this one that are newer and better maintained. I am so grateful we were only sleeping there one night. read more

Outdoor appears faded/dated. Lobby area was standard Courtyard. Room was shabby- uneven floor, stained carpet, broken grout in bathroom and not even a shower curtain liner in place. Workout space tiny with few dumbbells and no equipment other than 2 treadmills (no TV in workout space). No maid service between nights of our stay. Unresponsive staff 1 am in breakfast 'restaurant' and out of near everything for Sunday breakfast. Friendly desk staff was only positive about our stay. Worst stay in Marriott branded property in my life and I travel frequently. read more

Thank you thank you thank you to the Courtyard by Marriott on the Texas side of Texarkana. We called at 430am and spoke to a young man named Austin. We explained to him we were in town to set funeral arrangements for my mother who had passed away about 24 hours prior, but were in the middle of the worst hotel experience we'd ever had at the Best Western on the Arkansas side. Despite it being 430 in the morning, Austin was very empathetic and helpful, and we are now customers for life every time we come back to Texarkana. When we arrived, the front desk agents were very helpful and kind, and the room was clean and comfortable. A completely different experience from the Best Western. Thank you for being easy to work with and not making this tragedy any harder than it had to be. read more

Friendly hotel staff, good restaurant/bar with starbucks coffee, and a selection of snacks to buy downstairs. Rooms are clean and spacious. We paid ~$100 after tax. Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Tubs and bathrooms have handles for easy getting in and out. Easy access outlets, a good-sized fridge, and very quiet at night. The TV was a little wonky - picture was a bit distorted. And shampoo/conditioner bottles were very small. Looked for room service info and couldn't find any. So for Texarkana, this hotel isn't too shabby. Seems fairly new and mostly clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have a mini fridge and flat screen tv. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub. My stay here would probably have been a 4 star experience if I had been traveling alone. On this trip, I had to share a room with two other people and we were totally comfortable in a room with 2 double beds. However, they need to make one important upgrade. More than 1 mirror in the room!!!!! When you have three people who are all trying to shower and get ready, having just the mirror in the bathroom makes its nearly impossible. How about one mirror in the bedroom area so others can do hair and make-up while someone else is taking a shower? That alone would have been a huge improvement on my stay here. read more

Not a bad place to stay. My stay was for a month so I got some nice points out of it. I got a decent size room with a giant king size bed, a couch and a pretty big desk with a tv on it. The bathroom was very nice and was very clean. I was working night shift so I was sleeping during the day and the front desk worked something out with me so that they would clean my room at 9 am every Monday and Thursday so that I could enjoy having a clean room and still have enough time to sleep during the day. The only thing I don't like about this place is that there is no free breakfast. You have to pay about $10 for breakfast each day. They have a regular buffet which you have to pay and they also make you customized omelettes which aren't too bad but there is not a big selection on what you can add to it. But besides that, the pool is nice and the gym is decent. You also get a newspaper each morning delivered to your door. Total price was a little over $100 after the tax and everything. read more

Toilet didn't drain properly so they switched our room because they didn't have a maintenance person around. While I was getting my new room key I heard the front desk woman tell someone else that they didn't have a housekeeper on staff right now. We decided to stay one night at this hotel as we read good reviews but or experience was not as good as we expected... First, we arrived at 11+PM and the girl at the front desk was totally unfriendly and she acted like she didn't wanted to deal with any customers at all. We asked for a room with a king size bed so she booked us in the 3rd floor but then she told us that the elevators were shut down so we would have to walk all the way to the end of the hall way to take the stairs so having a 9-week old baby with us that was some kind of pain so we asked for something closer or at the first floor and she kept this face like it was a hassle to work us out... Finally she told us that she only had 2-queen size bedrooms available on the 1st floor so we took it... as we entered we started the mini fridge as we had to keep breast milk cold and we soon found out that the fridge wasn't cooling at all so I went on and look for an ice cubes machine and while I was checking the fitness room that was next to the ice room, I noticed that she (front desk girl) was checking on me like when a security guard is following a suspect, very annoying... An hour later, my wife went to grab some ice and she told me that a security guard did exactly the same with her and that he even scared her as he was silently following her until she found out... No complimentary breakfast, no bottled water on the room, the beds were very comfortable tough, but overall it was not a good experience... But well... the personnel in the morning was totally the opposite, they were very friendly and kind so I guess they have to hire better employees for the night shift in order to make their customer to have a good experience... read more

This place is great! Rooms are beautiful and clean AND the staff is super friendly! On every floor there are apples (beautifully displayed) to munch on! The indoor pool and the little restaurant are a major plus! We found our room on Hotwire.com for way cheaper than the retail price. $59 for a $99 room! read more
