I am very picky about where I stay so every Marriott I choose very carefully. This location was a definitely a win for us. The location, the cleanliness, the amenities everything checked the boxes for our stay. Front desk was always present and available to help. The hallways were clean a little smelly at times, but eventually housekeeping, got it together. The modern look and aesthetics were simplistic and not too much just enough to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was pretty normal of what you see at other free breakfast locations. My favorite part about this hotel was that it was minutes away from everything we needed. I felt safe and it was very quiet for the most part. I would recommend. read more

The hotel is okay. Not bad not good. It's a little older and my room had that old hotel smell. The room had a stove top and full fridge so that's nice if you're staying for several days. The bed was one of the more firm beds I've slept in at a hotel in a while. The hotel has a contract with American Airlines to take their crew to the airport. The crew gets priority and you're not allowed to ride with them. If you have a departure at TXK and you need to check a bag, you will not be able to take the shuttle as you won't make it to the airport before they close the bag check. The food options within walking distance are kind of limited. read more

I stayed here for over a week as a result of my truck breaking down. While there were a couple of small hiccups during my stay, the overall service provided by the staff was phenomenal. The rooms were very comfortable and included all the amenities I needed to cook for myself during my stay. I had the pleasure of staying 2 more nights when I went back to get my truck. I will definitely be staying there again if I ever get the chance. But next time will be for pleasure instead of business. However, I definitely recommend using their provided shuttle to go to the store. Walking from there to the truck stop and dealership 3 miles one way) in 98 degree heat and humidity (done by my own choosing) is not for the faint of heart. read more

The staff was very friendly and kind, and that's all the positive notes I have for this location. I walked into the room and was appalled. I stay in Marriott's across the country and this is by far the dirtiest I have ever been. During Covid, you would assume things would be extra clean, but I think this hotel forgot the memo. Every surface was dirty, sticky and dusty. I ended up using wipes to wipe all the surfaces, so that I could stay the night. I'm glad I was only scheduled one night, or I would have gone somewhere else. Completely unacceptable. Did not eat the breakfast, because if they don't clean the rooms, I can't imagine how filthy the kitchen would be. read more

We stayed here years ago and it was great, so didn't, unfortunately, read recent reviews before booking. This hotel is quite dirty and run down. I cannot believe it's a Marriott property. Clearly hasn't been cleaned well in ages (see pictures). Additionally, blackout curtains had lots of holes in them, the box springs our bed was on was broken, the hvac made some strange noises. It was late and our top choice for the rest stop on our long drive was out of king rooms. This hotel had some. Likely better not to get the "best rate" room. The senior rate king put us in #116. This room appeared to have had a quick turn, and linens were rumpled... Hmm. Front desk staff was very obliging and moved us, now 4th floor. It was fine. (Black out curtains in both rooms need replacement, very torn.) Likely sign off the time, but neighboring businesses may have not survived. Only parking lot lights for hotel were still operational, so rather dark. Car was fine, we were just wary. read more

Without a doubt, one of the worst hotel stays I've had since I was a grown adult with a steady income. I stayed at places like this when I was putting myself through school and earning minimum wage, and they cost $40 a night. I never expected to encounter conditions like this at a place that charges $150 a night and is associated with Marriott. Here are the highlights: 1.) Every floor surface was sticky with residue, including spills of juice/soda from the colors. Every corner had kitty litter and dirt piled up (pet friendly hotel). 2.) When we opened the door, a wall of urine odor so strong it was practically solid hit us. When we were in the room, we would accumulate. When we left to get dinner and return, it was the same unpleasant experience. 3.) Every surface of vinyl (chairs, floors) had sticky, reflective spills. 4.) Every surface of furniture had mounds of dust stuck to the sticky. 5.) Every curtain was stained with splatters (of what???? I've lived with curtains my entire life and can honestly say I've never splattered ANYTHING across my curtains) and multiple tears. So many tears that were so large, we changed in the bathroom because the coverage offered by the curtains was insufficient to keep people from peering in side. 6.) A lamp in the bedroom that was placed so far away from any available outlets it was unusable. Did they add an extension cord? No. They just left an unusable lamp sitting there. 7.) Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher from the last guest. Between the smell, the dust, the sticky, and the dirt piled up, it was atrociously below standards for cleaning. I thought about calling the front desk, but look at the other reviews here. This is clearly their new standard. I was exhausted, my kids were exhausted, and we were only staying one night. I didn't want people trapsing in and out and I didn't want to move rooms. So I made my choice. The next morning at breakfast I asked for syrup with the waffles on offer, and was told by the front desk that breakfast is not their responsibility and the person who's responsibility it was must be on break because she was no where to be found. That about sums up the chain of responsibility in this hotel. I have written reviews before, but never took the time to transfer pictures for reviews. Very impressed! My rate was $77/night (Mid March Monday Night). Easy to get to from freeway. THe room was very spacious! Full kitchenette (fridge, stove, dishwasher, stink, microwave) Had a pantry/closet that opened to kitchenette and bathroom. 2 Queen beds (so much better than doubles). Lots of room for luggage and to movement. Full size table and 4 chairs for dining. Free wi-if (love when it's free)! easy access to rooms, 2 sets of elevators (on opposite sides of building). COMPLIMENTARY breakfast. Staff at front desk was friendly. Nice dining area. Small concessions area with the essentials. Nearby was Chic-Fil-a, Sonic, CVS and other food/needs options. read more

My husband, 2 kids and I booked this hotel on our way to Nashville. Booked the two room suite to allow the kiddos a good night sleep. So, the results: 1. Staff - the employees were all extremely helpful and kind. We got in very late and we're in our room quickly. 2. Cleanliness - can I give negative stars? There was a roach crawling on the kitchen counter of the room!! All wood floors were very sticky! The couch in the living area looked like the prior guest was "enjoying himself" while watching t.v. Instead of clean the couch cushions, they were just flipped over - That'll do it!! Pull out couch had food on the mattress. Trail mix. There was enough of it that I could tell what kind of food. Dried bananas and peanuts... Just YUCK. read more

We arrived late and had the sweetest lady check us in, I believe her name was Vivian, and my experience with every other employee was just as nice. Seriously I did not deal with a single rude employee. The lady in charge of breakfast was very friendly, when I was walking with my 6 month old and she dropped her paci a nice man picked it up and rinsed it off for me without me even asking. So my experience with the staff was nothing but superb. The rooms were nice and very well taken care of, there was a microwave, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and everything you need to cook and eat a meal with. Sheets for the pull out bed were in the closet, and when we ran out of towels it did not take long to get those or the extra pillows we asked for. We were so spoiled by our room the night we stayed here that the other places we stayed at on our trip just did not compare! Thank you for a great experience and your friendly staff! read more

This is a great stop when traveling with pets. The pet fee is a very reasonable flat-rate $25 for up to two dogs with no weight restrictions. The designated pet room provided enough room for both my husband and me and our two dogs. Furthermore, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortably firm. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of grab-and go items (cereals, muffins, yogurt) and some hot foods (eggs, waffles). The only downsides were the lack of lighting in the room, and no hot water from either the kitchen or bathroom sinks (there was hot water from the shower). For over a decade we only stay in Marriots when we are on vacation, and I expect a Marriot standard. When getting to our room it smelled horribly of cigarette smoke and my husband had to put his shoulder into the door just to get it open.  The window was open and there were ashes on the window sil and ac unit. I asked to be moved to a different room. The girl at the front desk is amazing and needs to be moved to a better hotel and get a pay raise. None of this is her fault and does not need to take the brunt of the complaints for the poor management and housekeeping. It took 45 minutes to be moved to a different room after she gave up on her manager. We originally asked for a refund and to leave, but she said we would be charged the full amount due to Marriot would not allow a cancelation for a smoke free room. When we called the Marriot customer service they blamed it on the hotel and that they are only the brand and hotels are owned privately. Basically each the hotel and the customer service blamed it on each other without giving us an option to leave. The hotline made it clear that all marriots were privatly owned and could do whatever they wanted. Thus allowing a double standard.  We were moved into a suite, and unfortunately things did not improve. I will say the girl at the front desk said that the room was outdated and being redecorated soon. I had that in mind when we went to the suite. The furniture was out of date, but that wasn't what stood out. The room was filthy and post covid you would think housekeeping would have improved. This hotel is definitely not following safety protocols and with this being my third Marriot hotel we have stayed at on this vacation, this is the only one of the three that could not meet a standard. Here is a list of my issues. 1. Dirty soap holder in the bathroom 2. Mirror in bathroom has toothpaste marks and water spots 3. Sink has hair and is dirty inside 4. Toilet was dirty and no toilet paper 5. Floors and baseboards are dirty and have kitty litter in the corners 6. Windows have something on the inside streaked. Curtains have stains. 7. Pillowcase dirty 8. Cup rings on tables 9. Room key left that isn't ours 10. White spots on couch 11. Rips in sheets  12. Chocolate or poop on the sheets 13. No bed skirt on one bed 14. Rooms are clean and enjoyable , This location is near many activities , on the first floor they have a bistro type restaurant that servers EXCELLENT sandwiches , each booth has there own tv which was pretty cool! This is a follow up review for the service I received when our Platinum Elite reservation was not honored. It is NOT for a stay at the hotel; instead it is for the response we received after making call(s) to the hotel and to the Platinum Elite number. We did receive a call back from the GM. She was traveling and had to pull over somewhere safe to give us a call for follow up. Amelia, the GM, was kind, gracious and understanding. She apologized profusely for the poor service we had received and listened patiently. The GM agreed that the circumstances we found ourselves in are not typical and that the front desk employee needed more training to learn as much. She was glad that the situation was brought to her attention so she could be aware of what was occurring at the property in her absence. I do not find myself frequently in Texarkana; however, I would be willing to give this property another shot since the manager did all that she could to repair the situation and listened to my story. read more

I stayed here 5/16-5/18 & it was horrible for both myself and my guest. I got upgraded to a suit due to the hotel being overbooked. My room had a bad odor & the smoke detector had paper covering it due to the previous guest. One of guest hut their foot on the bed due to it not being set properly mattress wise. The room I was upgraded to wasn't clean or prepared at all. My second room for my guest had ants and refrigerator leaked. I got overcharged & the front desk lady didn't do what she had said she was going to do regarding getting my portfolio to the operations manager as stated. It's been 5 days currently since being overcharged and nothing has happened changed or been fixed. No phone cal or anything. Very disappointed. The rate of $130 for a two bedroom suite is great but the service was less than pleasant and don't count their version of breakfast to be any where near yours. Upon arrival for check-in at 9pm, I walked in to find one desk clerk in the midst of frustration attempting to check in a bus load of baseball players but there was obvious problems with their reservations. A second person, whom I thought was another clerk, was being directed by the first and it was quick to notice she had no clue what was going on, she did not even know how to work the phone. This lead to long delays and some "thick air" between the bus' group leader and the hotel staff. The staff was trying to call someone for help but they continued not to answer leaving uncertainty with the hotel staffer and no path to move forward. Once the clerk decided to pause her tasks and check us in, it did go smooth and fast as we already had reservations and hold silver status with Marriott. The room was spacious and decently cleaner than expected. The kitchen had a supply of dishes and pots/pans as well as salt/pepper, etc. Being late, my focus was on getting the couch bed and roll away made for my kids to get in bed yet there were no sheets to be found. A call to the front desk took four attempts to explain we needed additional bedding. After about 15 minutes, I walked down to the counter to retrieve the bedding myself only to find they were still dealing with the bus load of people, just now issuing keys. After another wait, we were able to catch the eye of the second employee and it became apparent that she was likely housekeeping staff as she promptly retrieved sheets and chastised the fact that there were none already in the room. Minus the fact that the hotel is located next to Steak and Shake and their parking lot is the obvious choice for muscle and show-off car gatherings until the early morning hours where they loved to peal out and rev their engines on the way out, the room slept well and the A/C systems worked without hesitation. Now breakfast, at least that is what it was called, they were highly under misconceptions here. If the rating was for this portion of the stay, well, it would have been negative 4 stars. First of all, the hotel was obviously not built to host breakfast, There is an area with tables and chairs but no place to present food. What was present was a meek offering of three cereals, a couple of fruits, weird flat eggs, and circular Canadian bacon that was as tough as rubber. There were a handful of breads as well but trial of piece one quickly noted the staleness and didn't prompt exploration of others. The cooler that should be stocked with milk and yogurt had two boxes of fat free milk and one container of yogurt in it. They had no bowls, no juices, and the waffle iron (while present) was non-functional. Breakfast ended up being a banana and coffee cup of dry cheerios. Obvious lack of preparation, quantities, and manpower hosting the normal course of business as well as having an entire bus of young (20-30 yo) baseball players- staffing and preparation could have been well adjusted with a little planning. This rather disappointing morning was later supplemented with food from a nearby actual breakfast provider. Not likely a place we will stop again with all of the other choices in the area. read more

I travel frequently and usually stay in Marriott affiliated hotels. The facilities here are well kept and the staff is great. The detractor for me not coming back is the minimal breakfast. Fairfield Inns by Marriott have better breakfasts and the rooms are cheaper. I will say, the rooms at TownePlace Suites are bigger and this location is pet friendly. read more

The room itself was spacey which is nice for my father and I; we have our own space. He got here about 2 weeks before me and had a whole basket of issues before I showed up. We are normally not the type to complain but when we are for a month plus, we kind of want to feel at home. He was in a single bedroom and the dishwasher was broken. He asked for someone to come look at it, no one did. He went to work, stopped by the front desk on the way in to ask about it, and they said someone came and looked at it, needed a part and would be up to fix it. No one showed. The next day a man knocks on the door saying hes there to look at the dishwasher. My dad asked him if he had the part and the man had no clue what he was talking about. Keep in mind, when you check into a hotel and they put you into a handicap room, they are supposed to ask if youre okay with that. They didn't. There were many more issues with the room so my dad wrote a complaint to the hotel. They had "no idea" he felt that way and were doing the "best they could". Then he found out I was coming out so he went on to the website and found a good deal for a two bedroom for $120 a night. He went to ask the front desk lady about it and she was so unhelpful. She just kept saying how she couldnt help and had no idea what he was talking about. By that point he was fed up and told them he will be leaving at noon. An hour later he got a call saying they were going to put him into a 2 bedroom for his current price and sorry about all the issues. Now I am here and boy oh boy. The faucets dont have cold water, the shower faucet is completely broken off, the maid service is horrible, and when i say horrible, i mean i could get better service at a motel 6, the complimentary breakfast is horrendous and the internet...dont even get me started. the plug ins in the walls dont work, the wifi connection constantly goes out and everytime you connect you have to make sure you go to the website to click yes or it wont work. Also dont have your children bring a gaming console because the inter wont connect.The blanket on my bed is so over washed the comforter has lumps of cotton. You Can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway and your room from other people in their room...including the people above you... Mariott really used to have a good name to them... First off the employees are AMAZING. They we're so helpful and nice. A+++ The hotel was nice and very clean. Our room was amazing for the price. We had a few small issues and they were taken care of right away. Our family enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we are ever that way. Being pet friendly is a HUGE plus!!!! read more

For getting a regular room with a king bed this is got to be one of the nicer motels I've been in for a basic set up, large microwave, large fridge, lots of room a dishwasher, pretty impressed, has a large TV as well but the picture is not in HD so it looks funny cause it don't fit the screen right, they even give you a bag of microwave popcorn and coffee, so 4 stars cause a good picture on that nice of a TV is a must read more

The 2 bedroom suite with separate entrance room with a pullout couch was perfect for our family of 5! There was a full kitchen with stove and all. The beds were comfy and each room had its own temperature control which was great! The separate toilet/shower and sink/mirror was nice for everyone trying to get ready at the same time! (Btw the lotion provided smelled amazing!) The only thing that was missing was a full breakfast buffet. They had a good selection of cereal and muffins but the only hot food was the texas shaped waffles that you make yourself. For the price of the room, I would have liked some eggs or bacon etc. Overall though the place is great and very accommodating for travlers coming in after midnight and without a reservation! read more

The room looked nice initially but from closer inspection it was filthy. Grime, coffee stains (easily wiped off) on the counters, stuff on the bottom of the tub, towels weren't replaced, spare sheet (only a top sheet) had a huge hole in it, spit marks on the bathroom mirror, dirt & dust piled up on the baseboards and corners & sticky floors. It was just gross. Breakfast was okay but the selection was tiny. Only up side was the staff was nice. But because of the state of cleanliness, I do not recommend this place. :( read more
