This is how the housekeeper left our sheets and towels for us to make our bed.
Lisa V.

This is a beautiful property, but the negatives outweigh the pretty facade. The staff is not friendly and not efficient. Our kitchen sink was not draining, so we called the front desk. I was told it would be fixed the next day. The maintenance person came and left a work order that they fixed it, but the same issue was occurring. I had to ask again for the sink to be fixed the next day. It was fixed, but does not work well. The dishwasher does not clean, but I will let them deal with that when we leave. I had to wash all our dishes by hand. The freezer was dirty with spilled raw meat juice which is a food contamination issue. I told the housekeeping staff about it and she handed me a cleaning bottle and rag to do it myself. We needed towels because this location does not service the room for 5 days. Despite the $300 price tag for a room here, I still had to go down to the front desk and get clean towels. One of the reasons I chose this property was for the indoor pool and hot tub. We discovered that the hot tub jets do not work so it's like soaking a hot bathtub, not a Jacuzzi. That was very uncomfortable and disappointing. The final straw was that the housekeeping staff left my room a dirty mess by stating we might have been in the bedroom. Even if someone was in the bedroom, why wasn't the living room, kitchen, 2nd bedroom and 2nd bathroom cleaned? We are moving out 2 days early because of these problems. Then, when I asked why I was paying almost $100 more a night than the current room rate, I was told several incorrect excuses. I am fed up with Marriott and will stay in an Intercontinental property from now on. UPDATE: I just got a charge of $115 from this hotel for a pet fee even though we had zero pets stay with us. I called and they will not refund this fee without authorization from a person whom I had to email. I am now awaiting her response which is very frustrating.

As a salesman I'm always on the road and I love to rack up those Marriott rewards points! When I travel out to the Western Slope I have a habit of staying here and for good reason. For a mid-tier hotel this is everything you would expect and more: rooms are clean, the staff are extremely warm, and the hotel has all the amenities while being easy to navigate. The reception always offers bottled water and they're willing to give extra which is nice. Room service is typically consistent restocking everything. The location is also convenient being close to the interstate. For the price of being well under $200 for a single room, the value you get for the $ is well worth it.

One bedroom suite.

Great customer service, place was dated but I was not looking for high end living. Just needed a clean place to lay my head.

3.75 Clean, but…read moresmaller. Great location- walkable to lots of stores and restaurants. Free compliment art drink at Soco next door, super good. Inside is open, games and seating, whe. We were there lots of kids. We didn't take advantage of all, forgot hotel room pics as it was a hotel stay after a Moab trip and were flying out early the next morning and wanted to be close to the airport. Beds ok, good shower.

The location is excellent - it was just two small blocks from the restaurant we planned to have dinner at so we were able to walk over. The hotel is welcoming and has a multi-faceted lobby area with individual seating for people needing privacy while they work, casual seating with tables, food for sale and even a pool table. They also have a workout room. Lots of amenities just on the first floor. Our room (403) was clean and comfortable. But I was woken up numerous times during the night to footsteps overhead and general settling noises from the rooms around me. Bottom line...the walls and ceilings/floors are paper thin. This is the reason for my rating. Aside from this, the place is excellent. So if you sleep hard and would enjoy all the amenities and location, this is the hotel for you.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

If you don't want to take a serious risk of identity theft, don't stay here. Don't fall for the "We require guest identity verification prior to providing access to the property" bit. At every other hotel/motel, you *show* your ID for verification, not *upload into an unknown system* that will be stored, accessed, and used by someone you don't know. This is the most basic identity-theft risk (and easiest to pull off) and AI make it easier than ever. When will companies learn that we live in a world where personal info must be safe-guarded more than ever? Here are the risks: Biometric identification isn't the future, it's now. Your photos could potentially be used to create AI-generated images, videos, or deepfakes of you. Some companies retain identity documents and biometric data for years, increasing your risk. Small companies almost always have weaker security, privacy controls, and oversight. Your data may be shared with third-party vendors or service providers. You may have limited ability to verify whether your data was actually deleted. Keep in mind that identity theft can take years to fix. Oh, and there's no one on-site - you have to text someone off-site if you need something. The rooms have no chairs. Take a look at the crappy furniture in the pic. It's cheap Ikea furniture with bubbled surfaces.

PICK ANOTHER HOTEL IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO…read more================================ If I could have cancelled at the last minute I would have. We arrived late afternoon on August 2nd after driving all the way from L.A. in one day. Strike #1 - When we pull into the driveway it looked like a guy on drugs was playing on one of the parking lot security gates. The ones that raise and lower for you to go past. We told the clerk at the front desk, but we were concerned about my car after that. Strike #2 - Located right next to the Convention Center. If they have big events there it will be really loud if your room is on that side of the hotel. We could hear loud noise until late at night. Strike #3 - The hotel is dingy and really needs to be renovated. It's a step up from the one in Cherry Creek/Denver, but still bad.

Every time we stay in GJ we have stayed here in the recent times. Tried a few other properties…read morebefore and always ended up here. Fairly quiet, decent breakfast, great staff with awesome customer service. Love the location too, easy access to all the Main Street restaurants and shopping. The pool and gym were small but clean and we had an opportunity to use both this time when we stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Love the dual waffle makers and two different waffle batters as well. Overall the food was ample and tasty. Nothing super fancy but definitely checked all the breakfast items. The only thing was that this is not a newly remodeled location so some items might be a little bit worn down. The mirror in our bathroom had some rusty spots in the corners, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom looked a little bit puffy, like the plywood had moisture damage... We stayed in a double queen and one of the beds is slightly lumpy/uneven, we got the same feedback from another couple who stayed in a king room. The linen smelled and looked clean, no hair, no dust on furniture... overall I think the cleanliness was there, just need a refresh with maybe an update/remodel order from HQ. All the employees were kind and easy to work with. We had a situation with another couple in our group where their door battery went out, they were able to open the door and provide another room in a jiffy, and helped them with a little discount due to the inconvenience where they didn't have to do that. We're grateful for the overall experience and will definitely be back again when staying in GJ next time.
