I generally try to stay in Residence inn hotels because I like to have a kitchen, but this hotel has some issues. Badly in need of a makeover, the TV and the tv software is ancient, not capable of streaming like all other Marriott properties, old furniture, not like other Residence Inns. Normally there is salt and pepper in the kitchen, but this hotel has little mini paper packets that they stuff into the shakers about half the size of a postage stamp, worthless, Vent fan light and fan doesn't work. Only one slow elevator, so you are often standing around waiting for the housekeeping staff that are using it in the morning. No modern shower like other Residence Inns. There was a bunch of someone's hair in the shower, no soap in the bottle, and they turn off the air conditioner for several hours at night. Bumping this up to a 4 Star due to the overall friendly atmosphere of the staff, they can't do enough for you. The nice lady that prepares the breakfast in the morning does a wonderful job and they even make delicious chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. read more

We stopped here to break up our drive. Always like to have a kitchen in case I need it. The room itself was ok. The part that didn't sit well with my kids were the insects I had to kill. I killed 3 big horse flies, a spider, and a baby cockroach. That freaked my kids out more than anything else. At 230am I awoke to hearing someone m'a conversation. I thought someone was in my room! That's how clearly I could make out the conversation. The female was on the phone for a good 45 mins! I couldn't sleep because I could hear her loud and clear. Glad it was just a phone call and not an R rated soundtrack! Especially with kids in my room! The hotel is only 4 floors and has 1 elevator. The parking lot is well lit and lots of parking. We had a choice of this hotel & others in Grand Junction. We chose Residence Inn as we have always been happy with the brand. The desk staff and breakfast staff were friendly & very helpful. They are the best thing about this hotel & they deserve better. The rooms are past well worn into shabby. I saw there were a couple of reviews that said similar things from 2-3 years ago. There have been ( apparently) no upgrades since then. Would not recommend. read more

I absolutely think the staff is amazing. However the rooms are not so great. I stay at Marriott's all the time however these rooms at this place are a constant hit and miss. I've been coming up to visit my mom in the hospital so I've stayed a few times and have also stayed at the Marriott next door which is much more cleaner and nicer. Again the staff are absolutely amazing however the rooms are dirty slightly outdated, couches are older and dirty and tvs in rooms and living room are so small. read more

Improved since last visit. The room was clean and check in was fast. Parking is now $9/day. The heater in the room is way too noisy. We couldn't sleep with it on. Our solution was to heat the room to 74 degrees and then turn off the unit at bedtime. It was always about 60 degrees when we woke up. The control icons on the thermostat are very hard to read in the poor lighting. They need a placard. Be careful when taking a shower. The back area of the tub is very slippery as the non-slip doesn;t extend back far enough. Location is good and close to the airport. read more

So it is one year since I stayed here. My visit was so bad, I decided to I needed to wait a moment to see if I would post something. I am a Marriott lifetime titanium elite meaning I have spent a lot of $$ and a lot of nights at Marriott. I will never return to this property. The ac did not work, the shower did not work, there was constant light pollution into my room. Check in was a mess, I complained and no one cared, I called the elite Marriott line and no one cared. I sent in a formal complaint and they ignored it. So nope, I will never stay in this place again and I stayed 50 nights at Hilton this year because my experience sucked, sorry Marriott but not sorry, I told My employees that we are switching to Hilton!!! read more

First time staying at this location, 1 mile from the terminal of Grand Junction Airport. Typical Residence Inn layout. Full kitchen, living room and bedroom/bathroom. Breakfast was good every morning with 2 or 3 hot selections such as bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, and quiche. I am disappointed that they haven't resumed the evening social with beer, wine, and food. Their biggest competitor, Hilton Homewood Suites has resumed their evening social. At least they had cookies every day when we returned from work at around 5:00. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is a beautiful property, but the negatives outweigh the pretty facade. The staff is not friendly and not efficient. Our kitchen sink was not draining, so we called the front desk. I was told it would be fixed the next day. The maintenance person came and left a work order that they fixed it, but the same issue was occurring. I had to ask again for the sink to be fixed the next day. It was fixed, but does not work well. The dishwasher does not clean, but I will let them deal with that when we leave. I had to wash all our dishes by hand. The freezer was dirty with spilled raw meat juice which is a food contamination issue. I told the housekeeping staff about it and she handed me a cleaning bottle and rag to do it myself. We needed towels because this location does not service the room for 5 days. Despite the $300 price tag for a room here, I still had to go down to the front desk and get clean towels. One of the reasons I chose this property was for the indoor pool and hot tub. We discovered that the hot tub jets do not work so it's like soaking a hot bathtub, not a Jacuzzi. That was very uncomfortable and disappointing. The final straw was that the housekeeping staff left my room a dirty mess by stating we might have been in the bedroom. Even if someone was in the bedroom, why wasn't the living room, kitchen, 2nd bedroom and 2nd bathroom cleaned? We are moving out 2 days early because of these problems. Then, when I asked why I was paying almost $100 more a night than the current room rate, I was told several incorrect excuses. I am fed up with Marriott and will stay in an Intercontinental property from now on. UPDATE: I just got a charge of $115 from this hotel for a pet fee even though we had zero pets stay with us. I called and they will not refund this fee without authorization from a person whom I had to email. I am now awaiting her response which is very frustrating. read more

Great location for inter-state travelers, and also close to airport; however, the owners should invest in upkeep and training of staff. I stayed in a cold room in February and it seems that a remedy of any kind was beyond them. I am still trying to see any value at all in the $10 parking charge. read more

Staff are very friendly and provided great service but if you're planning on trying to sleep - good luck, this may not be the hotel for you. Walls/floors provide zero sound barrier. The room above us sounded like there was a full blown herd of elephants running around for hours. Literally not joking, this was beyond frustrating and I've never experienced this at a hotel, ever. Even when they finally settled down, could still hear every bit of movement and creaking. Maybe time to put a little money into a structural renovation so this can be more of an actual hotel and less of a circus. read more

Decided to stay here for the convenience of separate bedrooms and a kitchen. Pros: space and everything worked. Cons: (1) parking fee. (2) Found out early on in our stay that sound insulation between rooms in this place is poor. Even acknowledged by front desk staff. (3) Piss poor cleaning and housekeeping. It's always great to be able to write "dust me" with your finger on the top of the fridge and the hood over the stove. The range top needed to be cleaned also. Unfortunately,I also had to look behind the night stand for something I dropped. Once seen, it can't be unseen. (4) Housekeeper not wearing her mask when she was supposed to. Customers, why bother to mask up? Cleanliness sucked if it was before COVID. (5) The breakfast offerings were pathetically meager and repetitive while the rates remained constant. Surely, there are better options in GJ. UPDATE: ( a month later) By the way, the cleanliness issue has been brought to Marriott's attention and to the hotel itself. No response whatsoever. I guess Marriott does videos of people spraying and cleaning the crap out of elevator buttons but could give a hoot about disgusting room cleanliness. read more

We reserved a $200 2 bedroom family suite. We let the hotel know that we had 2 small children...not child or family friendly at all. First off, we arrived at 3pm, and our room wasn't ready yet, so we had to come back 30 minutes later in order to check in. On top of that, the hotel charges guests $6 for parking! The kids were looking forward to swimming in the pool the whole day. After we returned from dinner and got the kids ready, we went to the pool at 8:10pm. The receptionist ran after us. turning us away and told us we could put our names down for pool use in the morning. We went back to the room, kids disappointed and full of energy. Posted quiet hours begin at 10:00pm...but, when we get back to the room, we get a noise complaint at 8:30pm because they happened to put a "sleep study" in the room below us. We will probably not be interested in returning to Residence Inn or Marriott. We were disappointed with our experience at this hotel. I would have given the hotel 3-4 stars, but this one only gets 2 because of poor service. read more

As a salesman I'm always on the road and I love to rack up those Marriott rewards points! When I travel out to the Western Slope I have a habit of staying here and for good reason. For a mid-tier hotel this is everything you would expect and more: rooms are clean, the staff are extremely warm, and the hotel has all the amenities while being easy to navigate. The reception always offers bottled water and they're willing to give extra which is nice. Room service is typically consistent restocking everything. The location is also convenient being close to the interstate. For the price of being well under $200 for a single room, the value you get for the $ is well worth it. read more

Not the usual Marriott good service at this property. On arrival we were given keys to our room. However when we got to our room after waiting for the elevator for about five minutes we found that neither key would open the door. So my husband went down to the front desk to request new keys. He was told he had to go to the end of the line as they checked in a line of new guests. Even though running new keys would have taken 30 seconds. What about calling another employee or manager out to do it? But the desk clerks solution was to make him wait 15 minutes while I stood upstairs at our door with the luggage. In addition, masks are required but evidently the staff doesn't believe in enforcing that mandate. Pretty shoddy management and customer service. read more

We've been coming here about once per year for a couple of weeks for work. The service is always top notch. 1) Mindy makes us feel like we never left, although we probably haven't been there for a over a year. 2) Mon - Wed they have either food or snacks starting ~6:30ish 3) They have a pass to crossroads gym that is available to guests. 4) The indoor pool is nice. 5) Did I mention the staff is super friendly. 6) If I let them know well enough in advance that I don't eat pork, they do their best to work something out for me. 7) Coffee and tea seems to be available 24/7 read more

We decided to stay here as our first overnight stop as we made our cross country trip from Las Vegas to Massachusetts. I was greeted by a very nice woman upon check-in. There were issues with her computer so check in took a little bit longer than usual but I didn't mind. We went up to our one bedroom suite and it was clean. There were two televisions, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The sofa bed was Ok but housekeeping didn't leave the correct linens for the sofa bed. It should have been a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a blanket, and a pillow, but instead they left two flat sheets with no extra pillow. It was a good thing the bed in the bedroom had for pillows. Breakfast in the morning was fine, nothing too special. It wasn't busy at all so that was good. Plenty of parking and plenty of places to eat in the area. read more

Service at the front desk was great... Arrived at our room and the keys didn't want to work. After 10-15 tries I got the door open. Cleanliness is lacking to say the least. Used dirty Qtip on the table in the bedroom. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Bottle of lotion on the vanity was half used. Obviously I can't say for sure but I think the sheets never got changed as there was hair on the sheets. read more

I booked my room on the app for a same day reservation (around noon). We arrived to the hotel after a long day on the road at 7p. Our room wasn't cleaned yet. The front desk staff tried to downgrade our room from a 1 bedroom to a studio (without a price decrease). I refused and had to wait 30 minutes for my room to be cleaned, as my children were melting down in the lobby. When we got to the room, the trash cans were overflowing with someone else's trash. We let the front desk know. At 9:30p we asked about the trash again and were told that housekeeping came up, and we said they couldn't come in. Not true. They then advised us to set the trash outside the door for pick up. So I had to handle someone else's bags of trash. It took an hour after that for the trash to removed. The rest of the room was clean. The staff was nice enough. I never got the express checkout under the door as usual. When I went to the front desk to get a receipt, I was told one was placed under the door. Nope, it wasn't. Last thing is that my child was nipped by someone's dog (no fault of the hotel). Just an overall "not great" experience with this location. read more

I can go on and on about breakfast and the options they had from Pineapple + Yogurt to Chocolate Chip Waffles (the chocolate chips not being in the waffles). We usually stay at Residence Inns when we travel. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is always good. The reason we are giving this hotel three stars is because the hot tub was broken on the first night and we asked if it was broken after breakfast and they told us it was fixed. We went in the hot tub for 15 minutes and it completely bleached my swim suit and dried out our skin really bad. Clearly it was not fixed and they were letting people in there. The lady working breakfast was also not the friendliest, but all the front desk staff was very nice. The room was also very clean and the kitchen was well supplied with what we needed. We would probably stay here again, but I will not be bringing my nicest swim suit just in case. read more

Do not book with this hotel. I made reservations weeks in advance for a road trip through Utah ending in Grand Junction. I arrived late at night tired from driving. The hotel gave my room away and said they booked me a room instead at Ramada. Seriously? I had guaranteed reservations! I drove to Ramada and was told that since they did not receive payment from Residence Inn, I did not have a room with them either. I drove back to Residence and was told that the Ramada must have a new manager and that was the problem. To end this story, I had to find my own room and pay for it. It was past midnight and it was in a scary place. It was not fun or safe. It basically ruined my vacation. I blame it on this hotel. This is one of the better hotels I have stayed in. Upon arrival, staff was very friendly, and although I don't really do cookies, they had warm fresh chocolate chip cookies at the check in table. I guess those are always there. The room was very nice and very clean. I guess they recently remodeled so it had a more modern feel which was nice. I stayed in one of the queen suites, but don't let "suite" misguide you, I think they call all of their rooms suites. That's not saying my room was too small, it was perfect size for one person. Could have even fit 3 more. So overall room was great. The continental breakfast was good as well. A lot of different options like scrambled eggs, sausage, chicken sausage, cold cereal, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, and a few other things. What I liked is a few of the things changed each day, so it added more variety. Some people don't like this, but I appreciate it and like being able to eat a variety of things. I didn't swim at all but pool seemed nice. The workout room is tiny. Just two treadmills, an elliptical, and a stationary bike. They do have some free weights as well. So this was disappointing, until I found out they had free passes to the just down the street local crossroads fitness gym. This was a great added benefit, and I went to the gym 5 times. From Monday- Wednesday, they also have little social hours in the evening. They provide food, and drinks. I missed Monday's, but went to the Tuesday social hour. Again, great ambience and decent food. They had potato salad, a lettuce salad, bratwurst's, chips and drinks. Another pretty awesome added benefit, as I don't know many hotels that provide a dinner like that. They also had people playing the guitar and singing, and they were really good. Again, I didn't attend Monday's and will not be there on Wednesday, but I think they would be fun as well. Overall, one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I don't have any complaints. It is an extended stay hotel though, so there really isn't a "deep" cleaning while you are gone for the day. They change the towels and replace soaps or shampoos, but won't change the sheets unless you request it. This isn't a complaint though, just letting people know. read more

Residence Inns are really great places to stay when you need to set up a home base for more than a night or two. I like the idea of having a kitchen with a sink, dishwasher, fridge, and stove top. While I didn't use it, I liked knowing it was there. My dad works on the road a lot and stays in residence inns all the time and they essentially are his home away from home. We were there for three nights and each night something was going on down in the lobby! Free beer and wine nights on Mondays and Wednesdays and every other Tuesday there is some other kind of social event. The staff were all REALLY friendly and helpful. It's nicely appointed with a gym, billiards, pool, hot tub, and full breakfast in the morning. I will always be happy to stay at Marriott hotels! read more

Place is decent with more than usual Residence Inn amenities--pool table, half court hoop, continental breakfast, weight room, swimming pool, unlimited coffee & hot coco in the lobby, popcorn in every room... Location is a block away from the airport (GJT) and along the strip of restaurants and convenient stores. Shuttle is available that will take you anywhere in town. read more

Three stars because it is an average Residence Inn, and upon check-in, check-out and breakfast (my husband and I only had coffee, my daughter had a waffle, so I can't speak of the quality)... the staff was wonderful. However, I am reducing my rating by two stars for the following reasons. -Hotel needs a bit of an update. It is an older style Residence Inn, and a the location is not fantastic by any means. -There was an awful, awful smell coming from our bathroom sink. Being that the sink is in the bedroom, it was not bearable except for when we closed the drain and opened a window. -My daughter got into my purse and removed my headphones without me knowing it. I know exactly where she did it and where they would be. I called the evening of our departure and they are gone. I hope their housekeeper is enjoying her new Marley headphones acquired from my stay. My daughter apparently left them as a present just for you. I know it my fault for losing them, but I really get upset by unethical housekeepers, especially as we tip quite generously and considering we are Platinum Elite. read more

This is a great hotel. Probably the cleanest well appointed room we've had in a long time. Everyone is friendly but Megan really made our stay great. Unfortunately the hot tub jets weren't working during our stay but it was the holidays. The televisions could have been bigger but channel selection was good. Breakfast was very good with different selections every morning. We didn't get a chance to do any of the social get togethers at night but they were offered. Just a great stay. read more

I travel all over Colorado with work and this hotel and staff are the best. I usually stay at the downtown Marriott locations when I stay in GJ, but I will only stay here now. This location has better rooms with a pool, basketball court, and gym. also a great lobby where there are different seating areas, very cozy. and then there is the staff, they go over the top to take care of you and great you every time they see you. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. The room had a pretty view, was relatively quiet, and I love the tea tree products they had.. which worked better than other hotel products. Their morning little breakfast was adequate enough for the price and staff was friendly too. Also, I like the location of the hotel. Close by the airport but also not right inside the busy part of town. Would recommend if people don't have such good luck with hotels. read more
