Great team and fantastic facility! Dropped in from out of town while visiting Dell/EMC for work across the street.

TLDR: it works! Try it!…read more CrossFit saved my life. I was in the midst of a divorce and had lost 50 pounds due to stress. I worked from a desk, and was a couch potato at night that couldn't bench press my own body weight. I was on sleeping pills, anti-depressants and was not eating. Mike encouraged me to stop by and try a class. So I did! It was a small class. I think there were 3 of us, and I had brought a friend! Brian was the instructor. He had a quiet, calm voice. He asked to look at my gait, and what sports I'd played, while he probably sized up how hard he could push me. :) I remember being a little sore after class that day but I came back. And it was after one of those first week's classes that I remember driving home happy! I was staying with friends and I burst into the kitchen smiling from ear to ear as they were getting ready for the day. Endorphins! And I was hooked. I had been a member of many gyms. Mostly for less than a year. The habit never stuck. Gyms don't give personalized instruction every day, nor do the members cheer you on and congratulate you after a workout. Gyms don't have a long term plan or program. Mike does! This sh*t works. I gained the 50 lbs back. I lifted 400 lbs. I did a muscle up! My advice to you is to try it. Pay for a month. If you like it, you will wonder why you didn't go sooner. If you don't like it, you might like the people and coaches and make some friends.

When it comes to choosing, the opinion of someone you know tends to be the best way to go. I cannot say enough good things about the experience we have had with Crossfit Prototype/ Prototype Kids. The entire Team here is amazing. They are knowledgeable and careful. They know how to motivate and how to engage children of any age, and the best part, they tire out the child in a single session. The options are simple, pay for unlimited classes or go the punch card route. At the end of the day, it costs no more than most kids activities. If you haven't done it yet, check out their Facebook Page and website. Better yet, bring your child there for a class, they give the first one for free. So no harm, no foul if they find it isn't for them.

Joined almost 2-years ago. Instructors are great - love them. Frankly they don't get paid enough…read morefor what they do. Lately, the class schedules have been bouncing around with some instructors leaving. Some classes are FULL and your are locked out. No - you cannot attend the class it is full. This has led to my recent disappointment with FA. When you pay monthly - yes you are able to signup to multiple locations for early morning and late afternoon workouts. However, some locations are easier to get to than others. Some locations are tiny/small and it leaves little breathing room during workouts - like the Shrewsbury location. Hudson is huge - but only good if you live close to that location as getting by 495 and Mass Pike these days is a PITA. When I reached out to express my recent feedback and dissatisfaction - thru a support group email, I was brushed off as go to another location or sign up earlier. Wow.. what is sickening is all this false talk of join the FA Family.. and setting you up for success is about as deep as a puddle - just marketing and they really don't mean it. You go and pay your dues and if FA wants to cancel the 6:30 pm classes that you liked - or they introduce some class that limits it to 12 people then you just are 'waitlisted' and shut out of the class - well - they really don't care. You should have signed up 30 days ago. You can drive 30 mins to another location or fight traffic to go to Hudson. However if you cancel because your work expects you to stay longer - you get stuck in traffic or your kid gets sick, then you may get hit with a $25.00 or $10.00 fine for cancelling late or not showing. I asked other gyms recently and they don't have cancellation fees or no show fees. They expect everyone to be a responsible adult but that isn't how FA is running things. They fine you. (stick vs carrot approach - because they want to set you up for success and build good habits..) lol So after my back and forth via email to some arbitrary fitness asylum support email group over the last few days after being shut out of my favorite workout time slot - well here I am writing a not so rave review of a gym that I used to look forward to going to. FA has changed and it isn't the great gym that it used to be. With membership fees jumping - and the lack of membership care, I'd recommend looking for another place to join. Sorry FA - the 3 stars was generous and only because you have good instructors.

Went for my first class to attend the Sat beginners group. It was a small class which was good…read more It's held weekly and the instructor explained and demonstrated every station of the circuit. The class is about 45 min and we did the workout with a partner for a "You Go - I Go" class. We did about 30 sec of exercise then 30 sec of rest as we switch off. We went for two sets around each station. The class seemed to go by fast since we're really moving along. No time to get bored which I like compared to going to a gym on my own having to think of what to do. You can try it out for $19 for 3 sessions. The energy is great, staff and people are too. Men and women are there to get fit and not put on a show. It's up beat and encouraging. As a beginner not having worked out for quite some time and being out of shape I felt good about being there. Going slow doing modified weights and movements got me through the entire session. I definitely felt all the muscles I haven't used after the 2nd day. The place is a fixed up auto garage shop and they made it work. The space in Hudson is bigger than Grafton so I imagine the class sizes are different based on size. Plenty of free parking. Given its winter bring your foot gear as you don't want to bring in salt and sand into the work out area. After one class I can see how strength and better fitness is achieved and signed up for my 2nd class which also went well. I've registered four my 3rd class and signed up for a membership cuz I'm motivated to get in shape. Every person I've met have said it's a life changer and I won't regret it. So far I'm pumped and can't wait to see results. Being 40 lbs heavy and feeling blah I'm excited that I'm off the couch! Give the 3 class trial a go!
