I've been going 3-4 times a week since the opening month in 2012. Sure, the workouts are tough (but fun), but the group setting and unbelievable coaches help you push through to make the impossible, possible. Plus, they can be adapted to any fitness level so anyone can do them. I feel ten years younger (I'm 40-something) and have been able to leverage my overall fitness into my other sports, like skiing, biking, and everyday activities. The results speak for themselves as I've lost 35 lbs of body fat and added lean muscle since joining and am looking forward to dropping some more to get in the best shape of my life! My fellow members are great people and I look forward to seeing them...I feel like I've made 50 new friends since joining. One phrase sums it up for me...life changing. So I came here using my 1 week free pass to check it out before I commit to a year (or 2) membership. There are two levels with the changing rooms and spin room on the lower level with the main check in desk. The upper level has the fitness room, cardio equipment and weights. This is a fairly small local place but is in clean decent shape. They do have up to date equipment and offer some good classes. The spin classes in the morning at 6 are full with a wait list. Although it is hard to get in the fact that it is full speaks for itself. I myself haven't taken a class and am thinking about it but augh 6 am to be on a bike. These folks really mean it! I've taken the step class and the Zumba and they were awesome. I def got my cardio work out. I am still need to test run a few others but this place may work. It is close to the commuter rail so getting off the train and right over for a work out is doable (not sure if this is a word). They do have a pool although I am not a swimmer. The weight room is a bit small but they have the basics and there are a mix of people at different times. Not sure I am finding the right workout group yet. I am looking for an energetic group of folks to help get me motivated and kick me into gear to get off my butt. I am not sure this is it. They will give you a lock for the lockers when you give them your keys and you can use the supplies such as hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower soap too since all are fully stocked and right in the showers. It is clean and private. There is plenty of parking and the area seems safe and fairly well lit. I am still looking...

A.J. is the best, most compassionate and caring business owner. He has made a successful home to people from every walk of life and fitness level. He's constantly improving and introducing things to the gym for the betterment and enjoyment of everyone. I have had classes with Coaches Tony, Adel, Amy, Dylan, and Bianca, and every single class has left me challenged and sweat-soaked. From beginner to knowing boxing, there is something here for everyone. I have made friends here, and Upperkuts has helped me achieve goals of transforming my mind and body after too much time taken off from boxing. Alicia and Brad, the owners at Crossfit Cut are wonderful, they get to know who you are and your personal goals so that they can encourage you to achieve them, and when you're ready to push beyond. Wow! Not what I expected at all! I was overweight and…read moredesperately needed to get in shape. I had heard of Crossfit and saw all the videos of crazy athletes online and I knew that wasn't me. I also knew that I hated running and would get bored easily at a regular gym with eliptical and weight machines. I needed something new, so figured I would go to Crossfit one day, just to check it out, after all, it was free. Brad and Alicia had me do an intro session. They were extremely informative and seemed to understand when I needed encouragement and when I needed a breather. They teach and enforce proper safety, strategy, form and technique. They even taught me about proper nutrition and diet! Brad and Alicia are not only knowledgeable, but they are passionate at what they do. To this day, I'm not the fastest of the group and I'm certainly not the strongest, but I am 50 lbs lighter and much healthier than I was. I feel younger and am able to do things that I never thought I would be able to do again. Mission accomplished. Thank you Brad and Alicia!!

The rest is - -music (on/off, selection and volume) has always been questionable -locker rooms (at least men's) are very bare bones -the weekend opening person (at least previously) would typically show up to open anywhere between scheduled opening and 20+ minutes late -Management sold a previous price increase on going to 24 hour operations and new equipment coming in. 24 hour operations was short lived (not necessarily their fault even if poorly executed) and the new equipment didn't show up for nearly a year and even then was marked "for use with mgmt approval". -while understanding the need for "survival" through Covid, the membership (while closed) and mask (when opened again) policies were questionable. -Cardio equipment is extremely limited. Metfit has increased their membership price past their value at this point for what they offer (excepting only if you really want to work with one of their specific, admittedly great trainers).

CFTC Truly Cares - More Than Just a Workout!…read more I was a member of CFTC when it first opened in 2012. I loved it then but life got in the way and I left for 8 years or so. I was always waiting for the time when i could return. The time finally came and I was scared to come back because i was so out of shape and gained a lot of weight and not feeling very confident. My fears were for nothing, the moment I walked in I felt welcome and comfortable. It didn't matter the level of my fitness because there are all levels of fitness there. The coaches are top-notch, offering modifications and guidance for every fitness level. They push you to reach your potential while prioritizing safety and proper form. But what I appreciate most is the emotional support and camaraderie. During a difficult time in my life (losing my husband), CFTC became my Happy place. Members and staff offered kind words, listening ears, and even hugs when I needed them most. If you're looking for a gym that truly cares about your overall well-being, look no further. I was looking for someone who would work with my 14 year-old brother on the 5x5 program that his school had assigned for the upcoming soccer session. Filipe was fantastic. He modified the program to better fit my brother's soccer needs and was incredibly patient and down-to-earth. My brother worked with him for about 8 weeks (roughly 3x a week)and felt huge difference during tryouts. The facility is brand new and well equipped plus Filipe's pricing is incredibly reasonable. You pay as you go and there is no need to sign up for an annoying gym membership. Here is what my brother has to say about his time with Filipe: Filipe not only helped me to become a stronger person but a more determined one, as his deep knowledge of fitness combined with his welcoming personality and unending patience created an environment of hard work and perseverance. His emphasis on proper form taught me the importance of not only the weight of what I was lifting but the technique I was using to lift that weight. Additionally, Filipe did not judge me but rather encouraged me to keep going when I made mistakes, giving me pointers to do so, all leading me to not only obtaining the strength I needed but the knowledge and work ethic to continue to develop.
