I had breast…read morecancer with left breast mastectomy in 2010 and as a result, had terrible overall breast symmetry. Contending with an overly large perky saline implant on my left breast, and a very saggy sad right breast, I had a rather low self-image. I also was saddled with huge flabby upper arms and lots of side boob. I hadn't worn a short sleeve shirt in years. I found Dr. Flores in Tijuana, Mexico and after visiting his web site, conducted due diligence to ensure he was board certified and had no instances of malpractice. I found he was boarded in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in General Surgery. His ratings were five stars. I contacted the practice online, sent initial photos, and they responded back very quickly with recommendations for improvement and a professional brochure that included a lot of information about the Dr., the team, the hospital and the hotel along with a very reasonable quote. Soon after, I had my first web consult with Dr. Flores. I decided to move forward with the surgery, and upon my arrival in San Diego, the office arranged a ride for me from the airport to the Dr's office in Tijuana where I had my pre-op consultation and met the support team. Everyone was very kind to me and took a great deal of time to ensure I had all my questions answered and was comfortable with the proposed surgeries, implants, and subsequent care. Dr. Flores did the "mark-up" and spent a great deal of time helping me to choose the right implant size for my body. Since I was also having an extended arm lift, Dr. Flores also agreed to remove as much side boob and back fat as possible. We also discussed reasonable expectations. Interestingly, I also had an extensive visit/exam with an Internal Medicine physician to ensure I was healthy and could tolerate the anesthesia and surgery with little risk. My surgery was the following early morning, and I spent a night at the hospital. I woke up sometime in the very early morning, and a very sweet nurse brought me broth and Jello. I woke up again in the morning to find Dr. Flores checking in on me. He took lots of time to answer all my questions and he described everything he had done surgically, and he assured me that everything had gone very well. He was very happy with the results and warned me to be patient and to do very little physical activity until cleared. My first impression of my new body was scary. I told Dr. Flores I was very worried. He asked me to be patient and said that what I was seeing was normal, and that everything would be just fine. I stayed in Tijuana for about seven days and was delivered back to the airport and flew home. I had to stay in constant contact with Dr. Flores's office and send new photos every Friday. After one month post op, I began to see that I was going to look amazing. I had my final three-month post-op web visit with Dr. Flores last week and I am now in month four post op, and I am healing up very nicely. My arms are slim and I am very pleased with my new and improved breast symmetry. I now look wonderful in clothes, and my scarring surprisingly has been very minimal. I have had a really excellent experience with Dr. Flores and his wonderful staff. I initially was scared to have the surgery in Mexico, but in retrospect, I was treated so much better than I had been previously in the US. Everyone took the time to get to know me and everyone I encountered was patient and kind. The hotel was beautiful and the food was amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat and have absolutely no regrets. I highly recommend Dr. Flores and his excellent team.

Every single person on staff was truly incredible from start to finish--I felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for the entire time. Dr. Flores uses high-quality implants, which made a huge difference compared to the ones I had done 12 years ago. The level of surgical skill is honestly impeccable. I didn't even realize how poorly my previous procedure had been done until I went through this experience--this was on a completely different level. What stood out most was how heard and listened to I felt throughout the process. Dr. Flores really delivered on the results I was hoping for. I've also had ongoing support from Dr. Yessenia, who has been consistently available to answer questions and guide me through healing, which made a huge difference in my recovery and peace of mind. This was my third plastic surgery procedure in Mexico, and I can confidently say I won't go anywhere else in the future. Highly, highly recommend.

We've been visiting the Balboa Hospital facility lately to help my no-longer-driving parents get to their checkup appointments and unexpected emergency room visits. The pharmacy wait time has gotten better since medication refills are handled at satellite locations elsewhere around town. This pharmacy is open 24/7 for ER patients. The bad: chow options during daytime and lunch hours are food truck(s) at the parking circle, some popup tents at the quad in front of the pharmacy, the hospital cafeteria, Subway, or McDonalds. At night, Subway and McD are the only dinner options...both do recognize mobile app ordering in advance. Hit & miss wait times if you need to need to leave a sample at the Lab, but you can schedule an appointment. The ugly: late morning parking can be atrocious. I get frustrated with having to drop off someone at the circle then driving over to the top floor of the parking structure because there are no open handicapped or regular parking spaces available. If you have an early appointment, account for possible heavy traffic at the sentry gate. Thank you to the medical teams working at NMCSD. I appreciate y'all.

Most people complain about their billing because they have no idea their anesthesia is being…read morecontracted out to a third party, so when they have anesthesia problems they post it over on their provider's listing when they should be posting it here. ASMG has a virtual monopoly on anesthesia care in San Diego. In my experience, there is no accountability when they hurt patients. I've had three total interactions with ASMG and all were negative: one because of billing, the other two because of poor patient care. Billing: in 2002, I had a minor wrist surgery at Scripps Green. ASMG attempted to force me to pay almost $1000 for the care they provided. My insurance said Scripps was supposed to pay. Scripps said my insurance had responsibility for the bill. Barely old enough to enter a bar, I found myself calling all three, repeatedly, trying to get someone to pay it because I, a broke college student living with my mom, wasn't responsible for it under the terms of my coverage. Scripps eventually paid it. In 2008, I had a thyroidectomy at Scripps Green. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Zinser, looked right through me when I met him and I had a gut feeling something was wrong. When I mentioned that I am a natural redhead because the gene mutation has consequences for anesthesia and pain management, he laughed it off. This is a proven scientific fact, and even in 2008, was well known. He allowed me to wake up too soon from the surgery (another physician once told me he probably turned the gas off too soon) with zero pain control because something happened to my IV. He didn't chart what happened, didn't tell me what happened even after it was OBVIOUS I had been conscious during the procedure and after numerous complaints. He was never held responsible for this severe safety lapse that left me with PTSD I still struggle with almost 20 years later. Unbeknownst to me, UCSD also contracts with ASMG so when I had a colonoscopy in 2025, I was, unfortunately, under the care of Dr. Guy, another ASMG anesthesiologist. My IV infiltrated during this very routine 10 minute procedure. Propofol went into my arm. I shared the image of the large, abnormal bruise I developed after this procedure. It wasn't evaluated or charted, nor was I given any post-procedure instructions. I've been in pain for almost a year now with an injury to the radial nerve because of this mistake. Again, a safety issue that went unaddressed and unacknowledged which is why I am posting it publicly here. Both UCSD and Scripps then treated me like a pariah in the course of trying to get care for this injury, forcing me to go to LA to find someone who doesn't have the "ASMG bias." It's clear there's a culture of zero accountability and little care for patients. It's about getting paid.

During the consultation, I clearly explained what I was looking for. He mentioned under-the-armpit incisions, which interested me, but then quickly insisted that I would need a lift. I explained that I was extremely uncomfortable with a lift due to scarring, but my concerns were dismissed. He spoke very fast, was insistent, and both my support person and I felt lost and talked over. He told me my nipples were "turned down," which I disagreed with, and made unsolicited comments such as women not wanting to "look like a boy," that "guys don't care about scars," and that "you either have scars or you don't have bigger boobs." These comments felt inappropriate and made me feel pressured and insecure rather than supported. Overall, I felt that he did not listen to my goals or respect my boundaries. I booked this consultation specifically because of his advertised experience with endoscopic transaxillary cases and made my preferences very clear, yet I felt pushed toward a procedure I did not want. I would not trust this doctor and would recommend finding a surgeon who truly listens and has experience in the specific approach you're looking for. Additionally after the consultation, I called the office again to clarify whether it would be possible to proceed with an under-the-armpit approach without a lift, since I am comfortable with my breast shape and simply want more volume. He responded that I would "have the same breasts, just bigger," and that I would still have "the same problem." I explained that I do not see my breasts as a problem and that I like them as they are. He then told me that I should find a different doctor.
