It has been 3 years since my exhusband filed the divorce. We have no children or shared property. It was simply because my ex didn't follow the steps to complete it. For abt 1.5 year, I went through friends' referral, yelp, random google search to find a way to complete this divorce. I got all kinds of advices, mostly very pricey (like thousands of dollar and that's only if my ex cooperated), or advices all led back to my ex having to be the one to complete it since he was the petitioner. I also went to the court house, started from Norwalk, then referred to Whittier. From 1st floor, then sent to 3rd floor. The 3rd floor workers weren't friendly. I kept going back for more specific details. The result was: As a 1st step, come back to this weekly mon 11am session that's first come first serve. Will take a long time but not sure how long. If I couldn't become the first 11 people, I'd need to return. I was thinking to myself how many days could I afford taking work off to get through the 1st step. Supposedly from completing this 1st step, I'll get info to get to the 2nd step. And it's a court scheduled session I needed to attend for another few hours. Don't know when, how long, or what am I doing there. Do I have all the information or knowledge to accomplish the needs for this 2nd step? The workers from the 3rd floor Whittier court house kept telling me I needed to follow the steps to find out abt the next, they didn't know more. Sounded like there'd be some forms to fill out. Divorce forms and mail have been taunting to me, and they didn't feel like English. I couldn't understand what most of them really meant. And there was supposedly a 3rd step... From there, I almost paid thousands of dollars for a lawyer I didn't feel confident would complete the divorce. I was also on the verge to go through those court steps, but seriously doubting whether I would be able to complete this divorce. At this time, my friend who has some legal bkgd told me I shouldn't wait anymore. All the mail and situation weren't leading to a good sign... She helped me did some serious googling and cold calling random lawyers and paralegals for potentially free consultation, and see which one actually sounded promising with practical pricing. With her help, I got better to narrow down the research. I couldn't even remember how I got there, but somehow I connected to a radius search around the Whittier courthouse. I think my keywords were "divorce", and "Whittier court house" on yelp. It was Resolutions and another place that had time for me the same afternoon. And Resolutions had a later closing hour that actually allowed me to get there from west la. From there, meeting Jennifer made me feel like the whole case was under control. All I needed to do was to make sure my ex would sign those papers. Resolutions pricing was also very reasonable. Honestly, going through all of these and with Jennifer's knowledge and capabilities. I'd be willing to pay a double. My mind was at peace from an approx half hour meeting with Jennifer. And she wasn't on the clock counting the minutes like the others. Apparently, it didn't take that long when minutes weren't being count down. Rest is history. The process was so simple there's seriously not much to describe. Jennifer basically rewrote the judgment for me, clearly clarifying all the concerns. Signed, sent. The time it took to finish the divorce went from previously unknown, potentially next year sometime, to Jennifer getting it done in less than 3 weeks. Not kidding. I think the best about Jennifer's service is that she really owns her territory in the divorce area. I'm not sure if she handles more than that so there might be more. From the knowledge, to organizing, and accommodating all the business needs etc. There's a niche of clientele she really knows what their needs are. I feel she had a really good business plan, knew what she wanted and needed to do to make it happen, and just went for it. She's now also my learning model to figure out how I can actually own my own business instead of just talking abt it for endless years. I also used to think it must be a very depressing job to help people divorce all day everyday. I can see from my own experience and reading other reviews that Jennifer does feel like an angel superhero figure accomplishing the impossibles for us. I wish her family and business the continual best of luck. I imagine I won't be having another divorce. But for sure will recommend to others who needs the help. I cannot recommend Jennifer and Resolutions enough! I was able to get in touch with them through Yelp for help with a divorce process and they were patient, answering all my questions. I had my paperwork complete and ready to file (they are even filing for me!) within a day. It's nice to know that there are still honest businesses out there who do great work at a fair price. I know that the divorce process can be tough, but having a place to go to answer my questions like Resolutions makes everything a little more bearable. I know that over the next few months I will need more paperwork prepared, and I will definitely be going back to Jennifer at Resolutions. On a side note, I really appreciate the fact that the consultations are free. Most paralegal and attorney's charge $100 or more for 20 minutes of their time.
