First I'd like to say that Sophia provides excellent service and $34 for a kids mani and pedi is great.
Unfortunately, kelly, one of rheir nail technicians at resort nails, lacks basic customer service and should not be allowed around children or after her sorry excuse of an apology where she immediately turned and started laughing.
Let me begin by saying my husband asked if he could sit with her as I was going in another area for a different service, and he was told no.
Kelly's lack of complete and total decorum when it came to giving my daughter a mani pedi led me to leave this review.
My daughter is 9 years old and has been getting manicures and pedicures since she was seven. This service was a reward for an accomplishment. Regardless of where we have taken her, the nail technicians have been kind and professional and understand they are working with the nine year old.
Kelly, on the other hand, hurt my daughter several times with her tools and ignored her when she asked her to please stop. My daughter also asked her to please cool down the water because it was too hot for her, and she was also ignored.
Because nsil salons want to get you in and out instead of having your sit at a nail salon table, Kelly had her hands balance her hands on a pillow to do her mani while sitting for her pedicure. My daughter, being 9 years old, told her it was uncomfortable and ignored.
My daughter was so upset afterwards she asked to leave right away because of how rude kelly was and how she hurt her during the service. Kelly did not once get my husband if she needed help. I don't know any other industry where you work with kids, and the person working with them does not go and get a parent if there is an issue.
But when I complained instead of apologizing, Kelly communicated to another employee that her behavior was bc she needed my daughter to sit still.
That was her response, not an apology but making an excuse.. I shared as much with the front desk employee who was communicating for us at this us point. I share that instead of excuses that Kelly being an adult should simply apologize and learn from this experience.. Kelly was then told to apologize. I can not even tell you how insincere it was, and the minute Kelly turned around, another coworker came up to her, and they started laughing. I'm going to assume positive intent that it was not laughing about this situation, but even then she's an adult and if she works in an industry where you provide customer service and if you cannot work with children then say no I. Don't provide that service.
It is an unfortunate situation because this is the first time I ever had anything like this happen with my daughter. It is also unfortunate because there are nail technicians like Sophia who know how to treat fellow adults let alone customers and children..
If resort nails really claims to be Five star, they should act like it.
