But my "2-weeks past my refill time" nails looked horrible. So after a Yelp search and a confirm from a dear friend, I made my way to this local "fave". When I arrived 20 minutes after opening, it was packed and I immediately second-guessed my decision. But, the "people mover" who greeted me was so friendly and welcoming, I decided to stay. He asked what services I would need and got me seated for a mani-pedi within 5 minutes. My pedi nail tech was super nice and for some reason switched to doing my fingernails while someone else came in to finish my feet. Everything was going well until check out. The friendly neighborhood people mover asked about my experience and then asked to inspect my nails. He turned and said something to another nail tech and then next thing I knew, I was being ushered to another chair to "fix my nails". They didn't look bad to me. I just got a powder dip... nothing special. I was content and had no complaints. Apparently, I'm crazy because they were not letting me leave "like that". So, after 20 minutes, the head tech was happy. She assured me that they check ALL work to make sure customers leave happy and stay happy. They even have a 7 day guarantee. Wow!!! This is the best nail salon experience I've ever had. I will be here whenever I'm in Dallas. Side note: I watched them do BEAUTIFUL nail art of all kinds. When I get brave enough, I will try that out too!

LITERALLY THE WORST WORST WORST NAIL SALON!!…read more I came in the middle of the week during the afternoon - I was the only customer for at least 25 minutes. The two ladies that were working were playing on their phones, moving things around, talking to each other, and not concerned at all about me. That was bad but once my nail tech, Anna started dipping my nails - IT WAS AWFUL. She was so rushed and incredibly sloppy that she kept messing up each dip layer. Her way of fixing it was to continue adding more dip to my nails. As you can see from the pictures, my nails look like literal globs, the dip is so thick and unnatural. I couldn't even believe I had just got my nails done at a salon. I've been getting dip on my nails for a very long time, and I have never ever ever ever experienced such an awful nail service before!!! And on top of all that, this nail salon should be shut down for not following proper sanitation guidelines. I'm pretty sure the nail file, nail buffer, brush, nail rotary & everything else has been used on hundred of other people & never cleaned. My only bit of defense here is when I refused to pay for the dip, they didn't argue. They knew it was a HORRIBLE dip set & they let me leave. This nail salon is disgusting & their services are absolutely awful. This place should be shut down!!

She essentially filed my natural nail in the weirdest shape... which led to Mike giving me the worst dip I've ever had... Right before my graduation photos . I do want to say everyone is friendly and nice but they don't provide good services. I go into the salon to get a $35 gel manicure on my natural nail and left with dip with tips at $40, I DID NOT WANT a dip set but had to get it because Dawn ruined my shape. After trying to get me to buy the Mani / Pedi combo for $90 for a while, I declined as I just wanted a simple gel mani, they sat me down to the worst nails I've ever gotten. It started by me asking if Dawn could smooth my nail and make them even, as in they were jagged... Photos are included. After she filed my index finger to the point that it looked so bad that my girls' group chat told me I should leave immediately and the salon had to get "their best nail tech" Mike involved. She also cut my long nails down much further than I asked. They said Dawn didn't understand English and that is why she filed them to look like that... No one asks for the way she filed them, so I think it was carelessness. After they realize how unhappy I was, they brought the manager over and had Mike tell me I now need to get the dip to fix the ruined nails... The dip was so bad, there were literally holes in the dip polish, they were uneven and sharp. I had to file them and fix them when I got home!!! I ended up spending 3 hours and 30 minutes in the salon (should have been an hour) and was so exhausted by the experience that I just left after I saw how terrible my nails looked! I soaked them off at home the NEXT DAY because they were embarrassing. I paid $40 + $8 tip for one of the worst nails I've ever gotten. The fact that the nail techs can't even smooth out nails (who wants sharp, uneven nails) is telling of the experience to expect at Empress. I hate leaving negative reviews but I will be honest, this is my experience and any business that provides me with such a bad service that I end up CRYING because of it.. makes me think people should be aware.

Well she made the extensions on my toes excessively thick, causing discomfort whenever I walk. When I politely asked her to fix her work, she responded in a loud and confrontational manner, questioning why I didn't inform her of my dissatisfaction earlier. Then being rough with me. So I just told her it was okay. To be honest, I wasn't too picky initially, but the pain was bothersome when I started to walk. I also want to mentions that the girl sitting next to me was getting a pedicure despite having extremely crusted feet with deep open wounds. The salon initially informed her that they couldn't provide the service due to the risk of spreading infections, which is in line with licensing and regulations. However, against their own advice, they ended up proceeding with the pedicure anyways. This negligence not only puts the girl at risk but also creates a potential health hazard for others. I would stay away from an establishment like this.
