The show is in two days, and the client needs it at least a day before. Oops. Enter Fastsigns in Northbrook. I was able to whip together the artwork in just a few hours, and my assistant started calling around to see who could produce several full-color glossy banners in under 24 hours. Three local printers could do it in time, and Fastsigns was the most reasonably priced (they didn't have a big rush-charge like the others). I emailed the actual production Illustrator CS3 artwork - no need to output to PDF or EPS with text converted to outlines - and that was that. They had no problems with fonts, they had no problems with CMYK colorspace, they understood exactly where we needed grommets, and didn't need any further input from us. We had the virtual proof in less than a half hour, and they were in production as soon as they got approval. The signs we got were very good quality for the price. The color was rich, the coverage was excellent, there banner was precisely finished within 2mm on all sides (they were being fit over a hanging display board), and the material was decent quality. We got exactly what we wanted, we got it quickly, and we didn't have to pay through the nose. Fastsigns is now our go-to when we need quick turn-around on a banner or sign.

There is no need for me to package anything, they take care of it. If there's no line, I can be in and out in literally a minute.
