Smoked Old Fashioned at the bar. They smoke it with a blow torch in front of you.

If you want to feel like you're in the North End of Boston or Federal Hill in Providence without the drive, this is the place to go. I have been here twice in the last two weeks for my birthday celebrations. I went a few weeks ago and I enjoyed my meal and the ambiance, so I returned again last night. Our waitress, Tricia was wonderful both nights!!! The first time I ordered the Veal Piccata with Bucatini and to start we ordered the Arancini's which were both excellent. My mom ordered the lamb chops which were also beyond excellent. The Pork tenderloin and Eggplant Parm were great as well. This last visit I ordered the Filet medium rare, perfectly cooked with the mashed potatoes. We ordered the Chefs board to start as well which was also excellent. Also ordered was the ribeye special and the Cod Al Forno, and the Eggplant/Chicken Parm. I will return!!! The only picture I got was the smoked old fashioned I had at the bar...you can also order your meal at the bar, many people were drinking and dining in the bar.

Wow. Wow. Wow. AMAZING! First time going here and I have to say I am shocked that a place like this is in Milford. The atmosphere so quaint and cozy. Small place but you are not on top of each other. Did have to wait a little for our food to come out but the wait was 100% worth the wait. We started with the grilled Caesar and the lamb lollipops. Both were amazing and something I would order as a a main. The Caesar had a flavor like no other due to it being grilled. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Our mains were the chicken parm and the chicken piccata. Both chicken dishes were cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Each main comes with either a soup or a salad. We also had the mushroom soup and the haddock chowder. Both were good but the haddock chowder was more flavorful. Ended the night with the lava cake and again amazing. Overall there was nothing bad. The staff was amazing even with the long wait our waitress Brianna checked in on us regularly and made sure that we had everything we needed. Can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.

I was pleasantly surprised! We were greeted and seated right away. The atmosphere is very casual and there were families present, as well as singles, young people and seniors. The decor is unremarkable, but it was bright and clean. The noise level was very loud, making conversation somewhat difficult. Probably not the best choice first a first date, but we managed. I decided to have the Eggplant Parm, a true test since it is one of my favorite dishes. My date was elated to find they were offering clam chowder, usually available Fridays only (and this was Saturday). He ordered a bowl and was satisfied, along with the bread. It was thick, creamy and received great reviews. My meal was amazing. It was a very generous portion, so that I took half home for the next day. The angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente, the sauce was delicious and the eggplant was fried perfectly - a tower of thinly sliced heaven with Just enough cheese and plenty of sauce. It did not dry out overnight in my refrigerator, as leftover pasta dishes often do. My only complaint is the noise. We were seated only a few yards away from the entertainment - a woman singer on acoustic guitar - but we could not hear her. After our meal, we asked to be seated in the very full bar area. The hostess and waitress kindly found us a high top. Again, we were close to the stage, directly in front, but unable to enjoy her because of the noise level. I will certainly return, but it's not somewhere for deep conversation or for the entertainment. It's all about the food and, based on my experience, well worth it.

There was no valet service, and the parking lot was already full, but we found a street parking spot very close to the restaurant. We were seated immediately at a window table overlooking the pond, one of Alicante's nicest features. We've dined here many times over the years, although our last visit was disappointing due to sluggish service. Fortunately, this evening proved to be a return to form. Ice water, wine, and warm bread arrived almost immediately as our attentive three-person service team got us settled. While the evening specials were tempting, we opted for two longtime favorites from the regular menu: Piccata di Pollo - $27 Shrimp Scampi - $29 Total with wine and tax: $84.53 Our entrées arrived promptly, hot, and beautifully prepared. The chicken piccata was exceptionally tender, complemented by a bright, flavorful lemon-butter sauce. The shrimp scampi featured perfectly cooked shrimp in a classic butter and garlic sauce that was well-balanced and not over-seasoned. As always, the portions were generous--enough that some of the chicken accompanied us home. After one less-than-memorable visit, it was nice to see Alicante back at the top of its game. Excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful setting make this a restaurant we look forward to visiting again. Tip: Even though Alicante is on Route 16, you can park along the road. Be careful exiting the driver side, it's a very busy road.

The waitstaff seemed to be disorganized and confused. The tables on either side of our table had received a lot of attention and were told all about the 'specials' of the evening by the server. They received bread at the beginning of their meals, we did not. We had the same server as the other tables and she never mentioned the specials to us, and we never got any bread even though we had to ask twice and still never received any. She paid very little attention to us throughout the evening. Not to mention that the food wasn't even the greatest, and the staff was even worse. Never again.

There is indoor table seating near the counter. Order at the Amato's counter, pay at the Nouria register at the other end and hand back the paid receipt to Amato's staff. I ordered the Pasta & Meatballs ($8.99 plus tax) and a large "Amato's Original Real Italian" Sandwich ($5.99 plus tax) which was made to order and ready in under 10 minutes. I was also informed that the staff originally added breaded chicken instead of meatballs for the pasta, but they also gave me both chicken and meatballs for no additional charge. I enjoyed my food for my tailgate dinner before a nearby concert. The pasta was served hot and baked in a round aluminum container with soft ziti pasta, a soft breaded chicken tender, 2 firm meatballs (cut in halved), a good thick red sauce, topped with lots of mozzarella cheese. The "Amato's Real Italian" Sandwich lots of Italian dressing, ham, cheese, pickles, peppers, tomatoes, black olives, salt & pepper in a soft open face sub roll, which was very tasty and messy from the dressing. I was very happy to have her! This night I ordered the chicken Loretta but had it over pasta. This was probably one of the best dishes I've had in a while. The pasta was cooked expertly, chicken was nice and crisp, and the ricotta mixture was the perfect amount of creamy. I would highly recommend Restaurant 45 to anyone who wants a great meal!

The interior is inviting with a large dining room, and the hostess was welcoming right away. Service stood out--attentive, consistent, and professional throughout the meal. The menu is extensive, almost to a fault, but it works in your favor if you're indecisive. They were out of one of the surf and turf specials, but with so many options it wasn't an issue. Drinks were well done--the spring sangria was a highlight and worth ordering again. We started with bread and truffle-style fries. The fries were overcooked and a bit too hard, but still flavorful and a generous portion. For mains, the short rib was pretty good and well-prepared. The chicken and broccoli leaned a little heavy on the garlic but was still enjoyable. Steak tips looked solid, and the fish and chips were another strong dish. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but for the amount of food and variety, it felt reasonable overall. In the end, not a bad spot at all for a suburban restaurant. A few minor misses, but plenty of positives. Definitely a place worth coming back to.

The sweet, smoky flavor, mustardy goodness isn't something I've found done as well anywhere else. And the fish itself was cooked perfectly. My waitress was lovely and efficient, and I also didn't feel rushed. What made it a four star experience rather than 5 stars for me was the ambiance. The music was horrible--like 1980's big hair band type music. It was such a bizarre contrast to the rest of the upscale ambiance, which looked & felt more like a steakhouse. To my chagrin, it wasn't just one "off" song either...the awful selections kept coming throughout the meal. The music gave it more of a dive bar vibe, and it was so completely offputting that I left sooner than I otherwise would have. It honestly gives me pause when I think about coming again. And that's a real shame because I'd like to bring others here to share the amazing eats. I may try it again on another day. But if the music is the same, I'll be walking right back out the door.
