Another 5 Star dining experience in Geneva. Oscar, our server was awesome. We actually went back a couple of days later hoping that we would see Oscar again. We did, but not seated in his area. We had Martin and he was great also. The first visit we had reservations and the second one we didn't. I do recommend calling ahead or online booking. The first visit we would not have gotten in and the second visit we barely got a table...think maybe we got a table because they recognized us from before. Items that we ordered were the: Frist Visit: - Lake Perch pan sautéed in butter and served with fries and a side salad. Wow, those tiny little perch filets were awesome. Perfectly cooked, very fresh with absolutely no fishy taste. The fries were very good - crispy and hot. The side salad was very good with a great dressing. - Pan Sautéed Veal with Mushrooms and served with veggies. The veal was browned and the taste was right there. It was tender and needed no extra seasoning at all. The veggies were cooked - not too much but just enough. Second Visit: - Steak - maybe entrecôte - the only one with a peppercorn sauce. We asked for it to be cooked to a medium and it came medium!!! The peppercorn sauce was to die for. We share part of this steak and just kept going back to the sauce. Excellent. I came with fries and veggies. I asked for a very small serving of fries and was accommodated. I also asked if I could have that wonderful side salad as my veggies and was told no. But way into my meal Martin came over and said that I could have the salad. At this time we were both so full that I declined. We were better off. - Penne Pasta with a Spicy Tomato sauce. Weak link of the two visits but hit the spot. The sauce was not spicy at all. The pasta was cooked appropriate. Just couldn't compare with the rest of the food. Highly recommend. Was our first meal in geneva. The owner made us feel welcome and found us a table with no reservation in a crowded restaurant. We had the vegetable soup which was OK, the lake perch as the specialty which was good and the escargot. All were good and we would return. read more

If you are looking for a GREAT authentic Swiss meal - this is your spot! As soon as we walked in we were greeted very warmly by Morgan who immediately took our coats and made us feel at home. We asked Morgan for a local Swiss wine recommendation and the wine he picked was amazing! We let Morgan guide us with our dinner selections and once again he did not disappoint- both our meals were excellent. As is usually the case with a great dining experience- the food and drink were Great but it was Morgan's personality and Service that really made this a truly great experience to remember. To be honest I came to this restaurant because I was in a standby list that failed to result in a table at another well known restaurant near by. I was super skeptical about this place based on looks of the establishment considering it had a mishmash of art from classical to bar art on the wall with no rhyme or reason to it and the future and interior was super dated. The service was absolutely wonderful, it was the best we have had in Geneva. Our waiter was so attentive and actually somewhat talkative (but not too much) and you could tell really enjoyed his job. The wine list was extensive and average price. I opted for a house Bordeaux and it was a decent pour and a very good quality wine for a house variety. I had the chicken and mushrooms and it was so tender and super flavorful. The sauce had the perfect creamy flavor with the right combination of French spices. My wife had the beef filet with mustard sauce and it was tender with a nice flavor. For dessert we shared the tiramisu. It was very large but it was just ok. I felt like there was too much expresso liquid in the dessert causing the cake portions be extremely wet. I would definitely come back to this restaurant on my next trip to Geneva read more

Still jet lagged from our flight, we woke up around 2 pm trying to get lunch. When we arrived around 3, Casanova was one of the few restaurants open, and it was pretty crowded (usually a good sign). The decor reminded me of a casual cafe and it was a bit on the smaller side, but our server was super funny and very friendly with us. I ordered the Caesar salad and rump steak with mustard sauce. The salad was delicious, with fresh vegetables and very good cheese. The steak was very well cooked and the mustard sauce that came with it had a nutty and slightly sweet taste that really elevated the flavor of the dish. The fries were crisp but not as salty as I would've liked it (though I'll admit that American fries have conditioned me for copious amounts of salt). All in all, if I'm ever back in Geneva, I'd definitely come back again. Casanova has hilarious staff and good food near a great shopping area. The only down side is that this place is pretty pricey. Stumbled upon this place while on a long layover roaming around Geneva. What a great surprise this place turned out to be. A little pricey, but then again, that seems to be normal in Geneva. Tried the Perch special and the rump steak and it was absolutely delicious. The view of the lake from the restaurant was one of the highlights, besides the food of course. On a recent visit to Geneva, we found this located restaurant conveniently on Lake Geneva and close to transit hub. Had dinner @ Casanova tonight with a party of 6. Food was excellent, tasty. Service was unexpectedly good. Asian waiter looked like he might practice particle physics during the day @ CERN and wait tables at Cavanova by night. I had the salmon with Sorrel sauce, fish was cooked perfectly and the topping was a nice compliment. Desserts were small but tasty. I would return if visiting Geneva again. read more
