It was my first attempt to use my card. We tried to purchase and I found out that I did not set up the online side for a pin. I went to customer service for assistance and she said she could not help me, and the person that could had an emergency left early. I explained I really needed help , and could a manager help me. I had researched entrance mats and they have a modest selection here. I used to visit their location on 190th St. in Torrance that closed. The product quality of mats I bought is good. I was put off by the hard-line manager who flatly declined to offer any discounts on them, one day after a promotion ended (and they were out of stock) on cheaper ones. While the manager gave me zero accommodation, he first-named me like we knew each other. Annoying. Unlike his attitude, my 3 rating for Restaurant Depot is generous. I have been coming to this place for 2 years now and I have had enough. This place is hands down the absolute worst RD/Jetro in Southern California. I don't know what the problem is with this place but the lines are always super long with only 2-3 people working registers. But they have 6 lanes? The staff is always screwing around and are super rude when asked to retrieve an item not stocked, which half the store is never properly stocked. Pallets of products are randomly placed all over the store. The floors are always filthy, the bathrooms never work and when they do work, they are so completely disgusting I don't want to use them. Half of the carts are not in working order. I don't understand how the management of this place isn't fired. From now on I will go to the new one in Huntington Beach where they have a trained staff and a cleaned store. I recommend everyone else do the same. This place sucks read more

The cashiers are very friendly and professional always however, the supervisor with black hair and wear classes have a horrible personality. I normally wouldn't give a review but, this is the second instance I came encounter with this young lady and her horrible, terrible personality. The first time I question the price of an item and she had major attitude. On Saturday, January 13, 2024, they had the cheese stacked on top of each other with different name brands and unfortunately I didn't notice. When I got to the register the Cashier , explained to me these are two different brands and offered to have someone bring me the branded, I desire. The cashier explained this to the supervisor, she turned her back on me and told the cashier no. I spend thousands of dollars in this establishment every week therefore coming into this establishment, being treated so poorly made me feel I was being racially profiled. As a business owner, I would never have someone with with poor professionalism remind establishment. This place is awesome and yes it's not open to the public. :( I had the good fortune of shopping here the other day and took the store aisle by aisle. The have the most impressive cheese collection. I was delighted to find huge buckets of Thrift ice cream and immediately began planning a reason to buy it until my husband convinced me our freezer wouldn't allow for it. :( I was even excited to find they had thai tea, taro and boba. This place is not cool don't come here they are price gouging on everything. There is no water any where and they only had 10 cases of water for sale at $16 a case of water. I called spoke to a manager and he said they are not gouging this is the normal price. I think definitely not. I advised him I would contact corporate office and he said go for it. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED. Went to a different store and they were selling case of water for $5. Membership store You must have a business license in the food business to shop here. It is very similar to Costco in the way that the boxes are stored. They don't have everything, but they do have good prices in what they do have. Meat prices are good, but quality of the meat is in the middle. Usually shop for meat, cheeses, spices & paper products. Okay so restaurant depot is REALLY amazing with the prices for somethings, but on somethings you get a better deal at costco or sams or evn smart and final. This is the only restaurant depot nearby that carries phillys best cheese steak meat. The one in long beach only has 'steak-eze' which is of way inferior quality and way more expensive. The Long Beach one doesn't carry it. The Anaheim one does its oddly more expensive per pound. Hmm. Weird. Yea meat prices vary from Deopt to Depot. SHOP AROUND is all I am saying. I make frequent visits to this particular RD, and every single time I go with a long list of items I need to get in the shortest amount of time possible...now I know where to find mostly everything I need but my first few visits I was SO lost. But there were so many helpful workers on practically every aisle, and every single one would go above and beyond to show me where to find what I needed. Very friendly and great customer service!!! That definitely make the visits more pleasant than they would be otherwise. The place is so big a store map could be helpful...but besides that nothing but good things to say about this restaurant depot.... This place has good prices but horrible customer service and long lines as a result. The staff is incompetent and lack common sense in all regards. There can definitely be modifications made with their lines, while your waiting to pay. For example if your next in line, they will open a new register and take the people behind you, rather than the next person....ummm okay. Vanessa who was cashier today was really mean to me. She was completely ignored, and I feel somehow she was racist. I only bought 2 boxes of shrimp for my restaurant but it took her 15 minutes to complete my order. And the most important thing is that she opened one of my box, and never seal it up. When I put it in my car, all of bags inside was run over all my car. Is that how you take your responsibility? I was trying to use my credit card , and it was declined for some reason I don't know. I wasn't being aware that it was declined. She also didn't care about why the transaction takes so long 'cause she was busy talking with other people in line. When I asked why the transaction taking so long, she just laughed at me " oh it was declined that's why it took so long haha ". WTF ? Why didn't you tell me so that I can use my other card ? I'm literally taking time out of my busy day to make sure I make mention of the OUTSTANDING customer service I received today from one of your employees named Malik. I have been coming here for 15 years since I opened my business. I'm here 2-3 times a week as I purchase 90 percent of my bulk foods here for my business. Came last week and received outstanding customer service from this employee. Mentioned it to the boss on my way out....Today I needed fresh orchids as I'm doing 4 luaus this weekend. Pretty upset when I saw only one box left. I'd have to go pretty far to get more. Here comes Malik. Asked him if those were the last ones. He stops what he's doing and tells me he'll be right back. 5 minutes later I figured he forgot about me so I leave and continue shopping. He literally went in the back, found what I needed, searched the whole warehouse for me and said "hey I found your flowers". I couldn't believe it. 2nd time this kid went above and beyond to help me. Have been going to this Torrance Restaurant Depot since the day they opened. Can't say enough about their customer service/inventory/prices...we pretty much have transitioned to using RD for almost all of our food/supplies for our two locations... we are literally saving well over $2000 per month compared to Sysco. They are great on equipment too. We had a cheesemelter leaking gas and the gas company said they could repair it for $900!...without ANY warranty as it was too old. Then they red tagged it and gave us 24 hours to fix it! Called Elva @ RD and she immediately tracked down a new one, picked it up and got it to us the same day...you can't get better service than that. *****HIGHLY RECOMMEND***** read more

I happen to come across the reviews when I pulled up. The phone number and couldn't believe what I was reading because every time I have been to this location I've received outstanding service from the moment I walk into the store. I'm greeted with a big smile and friendly welcome from the front desk girl. The walk in guys always help me with all my needs and ask if I need assistance lifting any of my products to my cart. While I'm shopping for any good in the store I'm probably asked 10 times if I need help finding anything. You don't find that one on one customer service anymore and I love seeing it when I shop at Restaurant Depot. I always leave with a smile because I feel as though I've had many conversations with long time friends. Next time you're there relax a little bit and don't be in a rush.
