Rated 3 star Michelin restaurant. Gordon Ramsay's original fully owned restaurant since 1998. Received Michelin in 2001. Located in Chelsea London. Very cute neighborhood. I enjoyed the walk to the restaurant located in a residential area, kind of hidden and away from busy street. The entryway walking in is black and sleek. The toilet is clean. They open the door for you everytime you need to go use the toilet. The seating area is very cramped especially for a high end luxury restaurant . I was seated near the window. The waitress had to move the table in and out everytime I need to get up. Normally they pull your chair out but because there is no space they move the table to let you in and out. Very awkward. I was there for lunch. You pick one of two options for appetizer, entree, dessert. It was £125 plus 15% service fee Appetizer Tomato tart : taste was ok. Presentation is beautiful and well put together. Appreciate the creativity and art Scallop: seared to perfection. Delicious . Very good Entree Chicken: juicy and soft, tasty Cod: best dish in the entire meal. Soft and cooked to perfection. Perfect green tomato puree as pairing Dessert This is where it goes downhill. Both dessert was disappointing. Chocolate was low quality and did not taste good. Texture was off as well. Savarin was sour and not well balanced. Soggy and not good tasting. There was 3 tables active when we sat down and the staff was attentive. Halfway through the meal, 6 tables were filled. The staff was overwhelmed and was not able to offer Michelin standard service. They fail to mention the charge per water bottle. I appreciate the tea was pre-steeped and brought out and not leaving the tea bag in. There was no additional charge for refills. But when I asked for another refill more than the waitress expected. she gave me a look. I asked her if that's alright. She said yes. Then later said that was a lot of tea and will charge me. The tea pot each time is made for one portion size as seen in photo, it is not a full pot. For 8 British pounds. Overall, we are glad to have been. One dish was amazing (cod), the rest were good. Both desserts disappointing. Not a Michelin 3 star worthy

Needless to say, this is Gordon Ramsay's flagship restaurant, so of course this is going to be a five star review and of course the meal was incredible. We got the prestige menu which is currently: a veggie summer salad, a lobster, langoustine, and salmon ravioli in sauce Americaine, Cumbrian steak, a sorbet course (the menu says plum and shisho but ours ended up being a sorrel sorbet - which actually worked really well as a palate cleanser after the meat course), and a pecan praline dessert. In addition, off menu, they served an amuse bouche, a tomato dashi, a bread course, and petit fors to end the night. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, we also received a chocolate orange cake. I would say all the courses before the steak/lamb course were very, very good, but not mind blowing. Once the steak and lamb came out, everything started living up to the hype. My wife had the Herdwick hoggett lamb course which served lamb two ways, and it was an excellent, excellent dish, but just a shade below the steak. The steak with black garlic and morels and everything else on the plate was just one complete and harmonious bite. It's one of the most well thought-out and constructed dishes I've ever eaten. By that same token, the pecan praline dessert was just absolute heaven and a truly memorable bite. Service and ambiance were perfect as to be expected. There was no detail not attended to, and the staff really made the experience feel even more special. Of course, an experience like this doesn't come cheap. If the money sign ratings were really reflective, they would need a fifth sign for this place; but anyone who's thinking of eating here knows what they're getting into.

The cost of this meal was basically our mortgage (kidding, not kidding), but it was worth every penny (or would it be pence). The tasting meal was beautifully prepared and exceptional. We added on the wine pairing, so our courses were served with a classic wine paring of old unique and sometimes no longer available wines. This was part of the celebration of my husband's 50th birthday and the restaurant staff did so little things to make him feel special from a handwritten card to a little extra cake with a candle. The service was excellent overall, but a huge compliment to the sommelier for the wonderfully paired wines. It's a small cosy restaurant so if you want a reservation, you need to plan in advance. I've also been here for lunch, which is more reasonably priced. It's definitely worth the spend and I would definitely go back just to have that lobster ravioli.

I've always dreamed of going to Gordon Ramsay's finest 3 Michelin Star Restaurant and this place did not disappoint. For a tourist, this place is a little far from central london but well worth the trip. The vibe of the restaurant is just clean and no frills. It deserved every single star from the food to the service. Even disregarding the immaculate service, the food was just delicious. I could not point out any faults in any of the dishes. I went with the carte blanche menu at lunchtime and honestly I've never been at a restaurant where I enjoyed every single dish especially with a menu that I did not personally pick out. I found myself trying to reason another trip to London just for another chance to have this meal again. If it's within your budget, please treat yourself to this meal.

My wife and I chose to dine here as our crown jewel eating experience while visiting London. I made reservations approximately 1 month in advance, so I think I may have gotten lucky. For us, it lived up to everything we expected. I felt guilty trying to take pictures of the food because my camerawork couldn't do the art justice. My wife ordered the Prestige menu which, as explained to us, featured the classic dishes of the restaurant. I chose the Carte Blanche menu which provided a surprise menu selected by the head chef throughout the night. As a wildcard, my wife ordered the selection of cheeses as an add on to her Prestige selection. The care of service, presentation, and explanation of each cheese was unbelievable. One should be prepared for a wide range of flavors and quite a bit of cheese provided in the selection. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was one of warm and genuine attentiveness to you as the patron and to every aspect of the service. The hospitality extended from the doorman to all the staff. The dining area was small which allowed the wait staff to unobtrusively monitor your pace and move on to clear dishes quickly. Their explanations of each dish added to the experience and made us even more excited for each course. As a final surprise, we were given a complimentary addition to our desert in recognition of my pending retirement and celebration of the evening. My final parting gift was the full Carte Blanche menu noting all the surprise dishes I enjoyed. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

First, the service is impeccable. The dining room is simply elegant and people come here to enjoy life. The food is amazing - so pretty in presentation and delicious. Each dish is explained to you for your enjoyment. We had the prestige menu and the carte blanche menu. There is a lot of food! And they pace each course very nicely. Definitely a place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or just life! Will be back when we visit London again

Well deserving of its three Michelin stars! Taste-9.5/10 Creativity-10/10 Presentation-10/10 Service-10/10 Ambience-10/10 Honestly it's hard to not give 10's across the board. Each dish was amazing. I supposed you could quibble with the 9.5 for taste, and make that a 10 - but on the caviar dish, the caviar flavor was swamped out by the other ingredients and was lost. If the caviar had been more highlighted then this would easily be a 10/10 meal. Realistically it was probably a 10/10 even despite this. A few photos included... obviously the menu changes frequently. 100% go with the Carte Blanche (chef's choice) menu. You will not be disappointed. Also add the wine pairing but be forewarned, you will get fairly tipsy.

First of all, from the outside, the restaurant looks very unassuming, almost like a house or apartment building door that you could easily miss. But when you walk in, it feels like you are entering a mysterious room. Then you see the smiling faces of the staff. We were seated right away. The dining room was very intimate with elegant decor and a quiet atmosphere--I could barely hear the other diners, just a whispering noise. When we received the menu, they explained that there were three options: the surprise option and two others where you know what you are getting. They also checked with us about any allergies. Throughout the meal, I kept thinking about how the staff brought food to the different tables with such etiquette. They would walk to the doorframe for their boss to check the food before bringing it to the tables, placing all the plates in front of each customer simultaneously. It reminded me of the movie "The Menu," but in a good way. My son and I chose the surprise menu, while my daughter opted for the six-course meal. We received tiny portions of food with amazing flavors. Initially, we thought we might leave hungry, but by the end of the experience, we were in a very pleasant food coma. This is definitely an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I am for sure coming back the next time I am in London. It was worth every penny. Thank you, Gordon Ramsay, for this amazing restaurant. Thank you to the chef for the incredible taste and presentation of the food, and last but not least, thank you to all the staff who made it such a special day! See you soon!

One word: exceptional. I came here around the end of May 2024, and to this day, I still believe this place is exceptional. The presentation is nearly perfect, and the service is impressive, though slightly chaotic (lol). I noticed a few unique signs, like tapping on another server's shoulder to signal that they were behind them, which was something I hadn't seen before and found impressive. Their walking pattern was also optimized, which, again, was impressive--it seems like the restaurant put a lot of thought into every aspect. However, towards the end, there was a piece of hair on my dessert, but the waiter resolved the issue by giving us a free dessert, which was delicious. One thing, though, I am not sure why it took them very long to give us the check. A few of my favorite items from this meal were the salad (surprisingly good), the ravioli, and the buttered bread.

Tl;dr - 5 Star Service, 4 Star food (in terms of fine dining). 4.5 stars overall, rounded up because there were more highlights than lowlights. We capped off our trip to London with a dinner at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. We took a cab into Chelsea and walked around before walking to the restaurant, arriving approximately 15 to 20 minutes before our reservation. We checked in at the front door to confirm our reservation before entering. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and an amuse-bouche of various tarts in the front room, while we awaited our dinner reservations. It's a unique experience, both in the front room, and dinning room, to have the table pulled out for you. We were taken back at this level of service and it was consistent throughout our dinner. We decided on Prestige menu and worked with the sommelier to find a wine pairing that would work with the meal. The first course was an off-menu soup. It was light, simple and had fresh, herbaceous flavors. The second course was the summer salad. Similar to the soup, it was light and refreshing. The elderberries popped each bite and delightful. We were served dinner rolls in between the second and third course. The rolls were light, buttery, and a nice treat. I can't say it's the best bread that I've had, but it was good. The third course was the world-famous Lobster Ravioli and it lived up to expectations. It was rich and had a wonderful umami flavor. I could've had several more. The fourth course was the Cornish turbot. It was mild and smooth, with good mouth feel. However, I found the flavors to be rather mild. The fifth course was the Cumbrian Blue Grey. It was underwhelming. The texture wasn't as tender as I would've expected and the flavor was rather mild. We were rather full, so we skipped the cheese course. The first dessert course was the sorbet with a crisp topper. The sorbet was refreshing, sweet and has a nice tart, while I felt guilty eating the intricate crisp. The final dessert course was a chocolate pecan praline ice cream and to put it simply it was the single best ice cream dish that I've had period. It was creamy, rich and refreshing, with a slight smoke to it. It was addictive. Overall, I found the food to be very good. I would gladly eat every dish again. However, I was hoping for more vibrant and explosive flavors that left lasting impressions. A few dishes reached these heights, such as the ravioli and the pecan praline ice cream, while others felt very "safe," yet good, like cumbrian blue grey and Cornish turbot, with mild flavors. The service is what elevated the experience to a 5-star review for me. While the food was very good, I would expect more from a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, give other meals that I had in London (and back in the U.S.), but the service was unparalleled. The staff was extremely friendly and took the time to accommodate a gluten allergy that we had, walk us through the menus, wine listing and share information with us about the restaurant. Watching the service take place was an elegant, organized chaos, with every detail accounted for throughout the dining room. If your table was dirty, they cleared it. If you dropped your silverware or napkin, they replaced it. They changed the plates and silverware in between each course so you had an untainted experience and it created an amazing atmosphere where every course was as though it was your first. Beyond that, the server's personalized our experience, by acknowledging that we were celebrating a trip to London and our anniversary, which made it all the more special. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who are familiar with Gordon Ramsay's work, because it speaks to the great talent that he is, what he's built and who he's surrounded himself with. Technicality the food is flawless. I just wish the flavors were a bit bolder. I would definitely come back, if for nothing more than the world class service. Though, I hope for a slightly more inspired and transcendent flavor experience next time.

*Sigh* this is an interesting one to write. My wife and I love Chef Ramsay so much & he's one of the few celebrities for us that if we saw him we'd be starstruck. Unfortunately, I have to give the experience 3.5 stars out of 5, but I'll round it up to 4. We have been to many Michelin starred restaurants all over the world and what separates these restaurants is the service/experience, less so the food. The food here was outstanding, and ultimately saves it. The service, timing, and ambiance weren't. Don't get me wrong, the staff was extremely nice and attentive, but there were things that made the visit less than stellar. 1) Timing of the courses was quite inconsistent or delayed. I realize it can't always be perfect but when the first few courses are spaced out less than 5 minutes apart and then it takes 10-15 minutes before the main, you notice the gap. It was also a ~15 minute wait between them taking our last plates away and us receiving the check that we had to ask for. What was most disappointing was that when I'm at a restaurant of that caliber, the last thing I should be thinking is "where is the check so I can leave?" 2) The ambiance wasn't there. There was only one room for dining and it seemed like there was maybe one too many tables in there. Sitting down at my table I was about a foot away from the guy sitting at the next table and I can tell you every word of their conversation. They faced everyone towards the center of the dining room which I liked, but it was difficult to get out from the table to visit the restroom or avoid bumping the guy to my side at the other table. A small thing to complain about but again, when you're at a place like RGR you expect these smaller details to be taken care of. 3) Service felt frantic. They take the approach of "no one should have an empty glass" and "if you see an empty tray or unfolded napkin, take care of it" - a real collaborative mentality. They take it so far that it's a detriment to the service. I don't need my water glassed re-filled every time I sip it and I'd like consistency on who is serving me so I can build a rapport over the meal. Service also wasn't very crisp. It felt a little disjointed and like the staff was pretty green or had just started working together. After ~$750 spent for two, I expected more. I'm glad the food was bomb and we enjoyed every single bite, but they need to make some updates on service. If I'm the one dolling out stars - no chance based on last night I'm awarding more than 1.

The best experience I've ever had. Everything was absolutely perfect. My first three star Michelin restaurant and it def set the standards so high for the others I went to after. Everything on the menu was absolutely DELICIOUS. The service was out of this world. The ambiance wasn't really there at first but once ppl started drinking, it got louder and better. I can't wait to go back one day and have the food. Everything was so good!!!! Posted a video review about this place on tik tok & IG: @jessiica0204
Five stars. Absolutely unreal. We did the Carte Blanche at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and it was one of those meals where you keep looking at your table like, "Are we serious right now?" Everything felt insanely intentional. Not fussy for the sake of being fussy. Just precise, gorgeous, and delicious in a way that's hard to explain without sounding dramatic. So yes, I will be dramatic. Highlights: * Scottish razor clams: delicate, bright, perfectly balanced, and the presentation was stunning. This was the first "oh wow" moment and it only escalated from there. * Linguine with native lobster: I would happily eat this in silence and defend it in court. The lobster was sweet and tender, the sauce/foam situation was rich but not heavy, and the herbs made it feel fresh instead of over-the-top. * John Dory: cooked flawlessly. That sweet, clean fish with the warmer, deeper sauce was a perfect "fine dining but still comforting" moment. * Bath Stoneham Farm Wagyu with the Hasselback potato / black garlic / horseradish: the wagyu was ridiculous (obviously), but that potato deserves its own fan club. Crispy edges, soft inside, and the flavors were bold without drowning anything out. Desserts were also not playing: * The lychee and jasmine sorbet was light and floral and just what you want mid-menu when you're like, "How many more courses can I emotionally handle?" * The Guanaja 70% with blood orange, ginger, vanilla was deep, chocolatey, and bright at the same time. Plus it looked like art. I'm still thinking about it. Service was immaculate. Warm, confident, and timed perfectly. Nobody hovered, nobody disappeared, and every course landed like it had a purpose. The pacing felt effortless, which is honestly the highest compliment I can give a tasting menu. If you're doing a special night, do the Carte Blanche. It is absolutely worth it. read more

The service here is honestly incredible. The staff nailed the timing of the food and the drinks, so the whole meal just flowed perfectly. The dining room is on the smaller side, which makes the whole dinner feel really cozy and intimate. You can tell they put a ton of care into every single plate because the presentation was great and everything tasted awesome, we did the Carte Blanche menu. We did the wine pairing, and while the wine itself was good, we had a few different people serving us who seemed to have different levels of knowledge about the bottles. I love hearing the background on what I'm drinking, so that part fell a bit short for me. To wrap up the night, they offered to call us a cab, which was a huge help and saved us a logistical headache. read more
My husband and I almost didn't make it to our anniversary dinner.. the reservation we'd been looking forward to since planning our London trip from California. We were running very late after our London Eye VIP experience went overtime, and when we called the restaurant, they kindly offered a 15min grace period...but after that, our reservation would be forfeited. My heart sank. Our Uber driver, however, was an absolute angel. He navigated the traffic with the precision of a local hero, doing everything possible to get us there in time!! and thanks to him, we made it right under the wire. And thank goodness we did, because what came next felt like stepping into another world. The moment we walked through the doors, the atmosphere shifted. The dining room felt warm and intimate yet undeniably luxurious, with soft lighting, beautifully set tables, and an elegance that didn't feel pretentious. The staff greeted us with such grace, as if they'd been waiting just for us, instantly putting us at ease after our chaotic rush. Every course that arrived was a work of art. The presentation, the textures, the flavors.. each dish was meticulously crafted yet effortless, the kind of food that makes you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate what's happening on your palate. From the first bite to the last, it was clear that the chef and team take their craft to heart. The pacing of the meal was perfect, the wine pairings felt thoughtfully chosen, and the service was attentive in a way that made the night feel special without ever being intrusive. It was the kind of dining experience where every detail comes together seamlessly. Long story short: we got to experience the magic~ and it was worth every ounce of stress getting there. This restaurant isn't just exceptional; it's extraordinary. In my opinion, they truly deserve three Michelin stars. The entire evening was nothing short of exquisite. read more

Though, I hope for a slightly more inspired and transcendent flavor experience next time. read more
*Sigh* this is an interesting one to write. If I'm the one dolling out stars - no chance based on last night I'm awarding more than 1. read more

Posted a video review about this place on tik tok & IG: @jessiica0204 read more

My wife and I traveled to the UK for our honeymoon and decided to make Restaurant Gordon Ramsay our celebratory dinner. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by their friendly and very helpful staff. The atmosphere was lovely with the color pallet consisting of white, gold and purple used was consistent and seen on everything from the walls to the furniture. We both ordered different things to taste a little bit of everything. My wife ordered the scallops for her starter while I ordered the ravioli. Both were delicious and set the expectations for the flavor profiles we were about to experience. For entrée, my wife ordered the cornish turbot and I had the Cumbrian blue gray. Her fish was so moist and flavorful. The blue gray was exquisite with the black garlic. The mushrooms alone on my plate could of been the highlight of any other meal. We did order and try the cheese before dessert but they were a bit too funky for our taste. For dessert we ordered the pecan praline and the strawberries and creme. Both were very good and not too sweet for my tastes (I don't really have a sweet tooth so it was right up my alley). The service was over the top with the staff constantly checking in and making sure everything was taken care of (they even go as far as to make sure you don't pour yourself your own water.... sorry about that haha). As we didn't have time during our wedding to finish our meals, thank you everyone who works there for making our celebratory wedding dinner one to remember forever. read more

My partner and I booked a reservation at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay to be one of the highlights of our London vacation. We were super excited and decided to splurge on their most expensive "Carte Blanche" tasting menu. This turned out to be the most disappointing dining experience and subsequent customer service experience I have ever had in my life. The food itself was so average. There were 12ish courses and putting aside the desserts, I would only classify 2 of them as things I would want to voluntarily eat again. We are not picky eaters and we love all different types of cuisines. This food was just plainly underwhelming. We walked out feeling pretty sad that we just dropped 1k USD on something we really did not enjoy that much. Around midnight after eating at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the early afternoon, we both experienced severe food poisoning that lasted for an intense 48 hours. We had 12 hours of non-stop vomiting, diarrhea, and fever/dizziness. The symptoms stuck around for days afterwards and gradually tailed off. Instead of exploring the city and enjoying our vacation, we were confined to our hotel room until it was time to fly home. Adding insult to injury, we reached out to the restaurant to inform them of what had happened, hoping they would investigate and ensure no other customers would suffer as we did. The restaurant initially said they couldn't find record of our reservation and tried to bluff that we didn't keep the receipt of the bill (which we did and sent them a photo of). After numerous back and forth emails including us sending a follow up email many days after we submitted all of our information, they ghosted us. Shockingly, they have still never followed up with us on the results of their testing/investigation. This demonstrates not only a complete lack of accountability but also a disregard for the safety and well-being of their customers. One of the questions they asked us was if we went to the hospital and tested samples of our stool. We did not do this and answered as such, giving them comfort that we have no legal recourse against them. This seems to have been enough comfort for them to ignore us. Hopefully this review can at least save a few readers from stepping into this disaster of a restaurant. It's baffling how a restaurant with such a high profile and exorbitant prices could fail so catastrophically in the most fundamental aspect of dining: serving safe and tasty food. read more

Great restaurant first of all. Food was great and it had the old school feel of a three Michelin restaurant when you arrive in a neighborhood with an attendant at the front door who shuttles you in and then are welcomed by the hostesses. Take your coats and you see the white table clothes peering behind the curtain. Love that. Food was incredible. Every dish was perfect and paired with the perfect wine. Some wines that were just allotted for the restaurant. read more
We came here on a saturday noon. It is advisable that you book beforehand. We got the £250 carte blanche menu cause we want to be surprised. And every plate indeed is a lovely surprise. I am still in awe of how soft the bread rolls were, it was literally a bread roll from heaven. I did make a request that if they have lamb in one of the courses, please change them to another meat because I cannot eat lamb and they happily oblige. My piece of steak was done just to my liking. We ended with pre dessert, the dessert and some small candies afterwards. I'll forever remember the taste of the chocolate- so deep and dark with almond aftertaste Since this is a three michelin star establishment, it is of course very professional in terms of service level. You are greeted at the door and someone will take your coat away. All the servers are knowledgeable and provide for nice banter. Restaurant ambiance is very intimate. Limited tables and table sizes are usually small. read more
My husband had Gordon Ramsay's flagship on his bucket list for a while now so when we took a trip to London, dinner here was necessary. The first thing I noticed was just how simple and understated the decor is; it sure seems like they want the food to be the focus. We had 12 courses including the amuse bouches. Amuse bouches: -3 bites - all delicious except the bacon mousse but that's just due to personal preference. -1 tomato broth - so light and yummy. Bread: THE BEST BREAD EVER. Most Michelin restaurants give you sourdough, but GR gave us the most amazing soft dinner rolls baked with herbs and a drizzle of honey. Of course they were warm and came with the best homemade butter. It was the best bread I've ever had. Courses: -Scallops "ceviche" - delicious and so fresh -Lobster - they said this dish was new (we came 5/27/22) and OMG KEEP IT ON THE MENU FOREVER AND EVER. This lobster dish was absolutely perfect. I can't even describe it, just know it was my favorite dish I've ever had at any restaurant, Michelin or otherwise. It was that unbelievable. I had to eat it so slowly because I was trying to savor every bite. -Sea Bass - tasty, cooked to perfection but after the lobster it was a let down. I realize it's 2 fish courses then red meat, but switch these two so the lobster is second. -Lamb - also really good, cooked perfectly -Rove de Garrigues - their version of a cheese course with soft cheese, shredded cheese, apricots and a drizzle of honey. Definitely a different course. I liked it more than my husband, just didn't care for the chewy apricot - it would've been better with a smooth apricot jam. -Golden egg dessert - almost like a fancy creme brûlée with caramel - it was good, not my favorite -Savarin - fresh strawberries with an earl grey Chantilly cream over a really light pound cake - really light and tasty! Gave us a nice bite at the end. To finish there were a few different chocolate bites, which were all good but nothing specific that stands out. Everything was very tasty but I'll forever remember the bread and that lobster course. I would give them 5 stars over and over again just to have a meal of those two things. I'd say the meal lives up to the name! read more
Listen, if a restaurant wants to tell you how you should tip up, I don't mind. It's their restaurant. They have standards. It's a statement of intent. I'm up for it. It's just that if their standards then dip below what they set, you're going to pile in. Which is what I'm doing. It feels mean and nitpicks but they asked for it. A Jacket is preferable when you go to Gordon Ramsey's. It's hot, but mantit sweat marks are something I'm prepared to allow for food from a place that's been three Michelin Star since I last went 20 years ago. That's some feat and I' not going to argue. Let me be clear. The food itself was perfection. This is possibly part of my quibble though. There aren't many edges to this place, and none of them are textured. The service is perfectly charming. The food is immaculate. And the night went swimmingly. There just wasn't much to challenge the mind or the palate. The three menu choices were fun. A seven course tasting menu. A la carte. And a seven course tasting menu thought up on the day derived from whatever they felt was good from the produce delivered. Sounds like a laugh but I'm not wholly convinced they approve of laughter in the dining room. We went for two normal tasters and a surprise. The room is beige. If you like beige, you'll love the room. There's some sort of light feature in the middle of the room hanging from the ceiling that looks like an xxxl shower curtain holder. This is the most noticeable thing about the room. That and the sound of silence Art Garfunkel himself might have been deafened by as we enter. Thankfully things did liven up as the tables filled but that first impression isn't knockout like it is when you walk into somewhere like Core. Actually, The Fat Duck is similarly underwhelming in terms of its surroundings but they then proceed to charm you senseless with the food and the experience. A charm that's lacking here. Amuse bouches roll out and are happily tucked away. The cheese balls I wouldn't have questioned if they had been from Papa Johns. I often wonder when eating high end food that the irony is we end up saying 'amazing, it tastes just like snickers/wotsits/Ritz crackers'. The closer you get, the better. Just like a Snickers but £45 more expensive. Winner. Anyway, the cheeseballs tasted good. Like I was watching football in front of the telly surrounded by pizza boxes and money off leaflets for my next order. Second course in was introduced as a smoked salmon salad. It was in fact smoked duck breast. No worries. Except that for the grand I'm dropping here, I thought that sort of thing was completely ironed out in the training. I literally don't care that they announced the wrong main ingredient. I can work it out for myself. That is until I remind myself that the whole reason I'm paying a small fortune for this is that nothing like this is ever supposed to happen. And they preferred I wear a jacket. I've watched The Bear. I've understood that these people have gone through nervous breakdowns to attain perfection. And I understand that means I'm going to have to shell out. I understand I need to do this in a slightly restricted jacket. So when it isn't perfect, however innocent, it rankles. That and the fact that they 'preferred' me to wear a jacket on a boiling hot night. Well if I'm paying all this money and melting at the same time, I'd prefer to know that the dish is smoked duck breast rather than smoked salmon. See, places like this turn you into a twat. I don't want to be a twat. I just want to be a normal person enjoying great food in a nice T shirt. But they wouldn't let me do that so say hello to Mr Twat. We had a delicious concoction which was a sort of broth top layer with a cream underneath that was sheer delight. The star of the show and a hint to head chef's talent and her background coming from south east Asia. The Somellier was wonderful and gleefully imparted his knowledge and a couple of fine suggestions. Other than that, nothing to report other than excellently executed dish after dish enjoyed in neutral surroundings served by very proper staff although one girl loosened up enough to chat a bit about her job which was fascinating and fun. More of that please. My son turned 18. That was the reason for our visit. He loved every moment. It felt special to him. He'd never eaten food as good and he marvelled at all the watches in the room. This wisened old git just wanted something with a bit more oomph. I yearned for some prefect imperfection. A Lee Scratch Perry cow moo, a Stan Bowles shirt hanging out as he ghosts past three defenders. A quirk, a bit of derring do. For that, I'd come back donning two jackets and a corset. read more

A journey of the senses... I opted for the Carte Blanche experience, which allows the chef the freedom to get creative, highlighting seasonal ingredients over 7 courses. Well, I kept track, and, including the incredible amuse bouche and additional surprises, I was actually served 11. I was careful not to eat every last bit of food to reserve room in my stomach to try everything, and even then I cut it close. There was a "pre-dessert" and a dessert, and when the server brought another trio of treats after dessert, she saw the weary look on my face and said, "I promise, this is the end!" :) Every dish was beautiful, and every bite of food satisfactory; however, for a 3 Michelin star restaurant, I fully expect to be blown away at every step of the journey, and that actually didn't happen. The lamb was absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous layer of crispy fat and incredibly tender and juicy meat. I opted to have white truffles shaved over my cheese course (the tart shell was impossibly crisp, flaky, and buttery,) but I honestly found the overall dish to be unremarkable. My favorite dish was the Oyster Surprise, which was oyster custard topped with dill and caviar and served with a tempura oyster with dill pickle gel. Service polished and attentive, albeit a bit stiff, and the wine recommendation was spot on! But was I blown away? I'm afraid not. Still, it was an elegant culinary escapade. read more
The wine list - it's extensive burgundy selections - and presentation at the table were genuinely special. Additionally, the service was flawless - which you would expect. The greeting upon entering the restaurant was a bit cold relative to Jean Claude. His lack of presence was obvious. The food - just not special really at all. The sirloin was tough, which shocked us all a bit. The turbot lacked any real taste and the pairing of Dover Sole stuffed with truffles just didn't work - as the truffles overpowered the subtle fish. The apple tartine was generally agreed by the group to be the best apple pie ever. It was fun. And a memory. But not worth it - because of the food. read more
Everything about my visit to restaurant Gordon Ramsay was perfect, well almost. The ambiance was modern but fancy. We were at the chefs tasting table which is front and center when you come in which was kind of intimidating at first but eventually we barely noticed. The service was mostly great. The chef who came out to explain each dish was awesome and friendly and super knowledgeable. Overall the staff was incredibly attentive. Though it did take a while to get the bill. The food was amazing. Each dish was perfectly cooked and balanced in flavor. Easily the best meal I've had. The only complaint was that the coffee was a bit lackluster, but I never did find very good coffee in England. Overall a wonderful night. Highly recommended. read more
Definativamente me gusta mucho this Michelin three-star restaurant by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. I'm a huge fan of the food and his personality, as well as a huge fan of the corporate Amex that paid the sizable bill. The food, ambience and service were well worth the price. Now I'm a foodie and have eaten in some great restaurants, but I have to say this was one of the best meals I have had, ever, anywhere in the world. This level of restaurant does not come cheap, but it's practically like going to heaven. This place is a London institution and seems to just keep getting better and better. Open for more than twenty years, it's been Michelin-starred for most of its existence. It never seems to coast on its laurels, always improving and changing. Book in advance or get your hotel concierge to pull strings, because some nights reservations are very tough to get. Prestige Tasting Menu is a great choice, almost like a sampler platter of the restaurant's greatest hits from the past 20 years. The staff has already paired wine with everything. Each dish, even the very small ones, come out looking like complex modern sculptures. It just couldn't have been more perfect. The space feels like eating in a very rich friend's understated dining room. The serving staff would do Downton Abbey proud: quiet, friendly but not intrusive and just the right amount of attention. Even with my American accent, I didn't get treated like a barbarian, hehe. I repeat again: I travel often and try to eat out at great places often...this goes on my best of the best list, and has been there for a decade. read more

Can't recommend this place enough! This experience exceeded our expectations! We had heard so much about Restaurant Gordon Ramsey for years and were worried it was all hype...but it's even better that we could have imagine On top of each delicious courses, the amazing staff and stunning decor complete the experience (there was even a bench to put my purse!). We did the 7 course Carte Blanche with new dishes designed by the Chef and you never know what's coming next. With the complimentary canapés, amuse boucle, palate cleanser, and additional dessert (not pictured), it felt more so like 11 amazing courses! For libations we did the wine pairing, while not an inexpensive addition was great to have all the thought taken out of drink selection and know what we were having complimented each course. Would highly recommend for an elevated night out and/or celebration!! We can't wait to go back! read more
The food was excellent. We had the scallops, ravioli with lobster, pigeon, Dover sole, beef, and the chocolate and a souffle. Not a complaint. Standouts were the ravioli and Dover sole. This was our second visit in 30 years. It was a standout then. read more

Very well run business like a well oiled machine. Waiting staff listened and were in a relaxed and comfortable uniform. Cleanliness was impeccable. We went for Christmas lunch and we were not disappointed. Dishes were well balanced and a little unusual to the "traditional" British dishes. The flair and beauty of the dishes were worth the money, for special occasions. It was a great dining experience and we were pleased that the puddings were just right, not too filling to make you regret eating them. Good wine menu. read more
****1000th Review**** This was my first Three Michelin star restaurant I have dined at and it did not disappoint. This small, intimate restaurant lives up to the hype and will be one of the best experiences you will have. For the price, I believe it is very reasonable for what they charge. Tasting menu with a high profile celebrity chef could easily cost way more than that price they charge. I suggest planning ahead on this one, it's a very small restaurant with a paced tasting menu. This isn't a place where you will walk up and get a seat. Plan ahead! The experience is awesome and I highly recommend trying to get a table here. The service is excellent and flow of the menu is just right. One piece of advice is to ask for the check, from what I was told USA vs Europe has different etiquette surrounding the check delivery. If you don't ask for it, you may sit awkwardly for a bit. The food is amazing, this was the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. Everything start to finish was delicious and perfect. They cook at such a high level here, every dish on the menu is something I would order again. The food was so well prepared and lived up to the Michelin accolade, can't get much better than what they offer. I would go back here the first chance I got, wish this one was closer to me. This is my #1 meal and I encourage you to try them out! read more

I was so excited to have beef Wellington at this restaurant. I am a big kitchen nightmares fan. It was so bland, I had to ask the waitress for some salt. It was not bad, but lacked so much flavor. Waitress gave me salt, and never asked why I thought the meat needed it. Maybe they are used to it. Should have suspected it, when every restaurant near was full and when we sat down there were only 2 other people in the place at 8pm. read more

I'd give this restaurant 4.5 stars if I could, but I'm rounding up because certain aspects of it--not least the service--were extraordinary. We opted for the menu prestige, and all of the little surprise appetizers and amuse bouches were outstanding. The prize goes to a revolutionary savory custard tart with the absolute freshest of spring produce and the perfect amount of caviar. This dish took my breath away. The bread and butter course was also truly sublime. Interestingly, the one course we were both disappointed with was the meat course: I had the Cumbrian blue grey and my husband had the bigger. While we understand that being spare with seasonings will help us focus on the taste of the meat, we did not find the taste of either meat noteworthy, and they tasted underseasoned to us. The cheese course, however, was a revelation. The cart and selection are jaw-dropping, and those who like washed rind stinky cheeses will NOT be disappointed here: the Epoisses was perfect, the best I've tasted; and the Muenster was the discovery of the night. The young woman who introduced the cheeses and helped us make our selection was absolutely superb--as, frankly, we're all the staff. I can easily say that this was the most polished service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. The staff have a way of making everyone feel welcome, luxuriously cared for, and at ease. Not overly fussy or pretentious at all, despite the doting care one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. And, trust me, despite the small portion sizes, you will not leave hungry, as there are A LOT of portions to taste. A once in a lifetime experience. read more
I planned for my Europe trip few months in advance and booked Gordon Ramsay restaurant to celebrate for my hubby's birthday dinner. I have been to a few 3 Michelin star and 2 Michelin star restaurants in Tokyo, HK, NYC & Vegas. Of coz, I would expect more at one of 3 Michelin star restaurant in London. It was NOT incredibly expensive as 3 Michelin star restaurant (compared with Paris). We ordered tasting menu and dishes were phenomenal! Pressed foie gras - It's light but tasty Lobster Ravioli - It's so delicious Poached Halibut - presented beautifully but halibut taste a bit raw... Lamb in 3 ways (Braised, confit and roasted) - it's cooked perfect on each way. Roast Pigeon - I would say Chinese Roast Pigeon a bit better.. LOL Soup **So different and special** - Pineapple coconut, it liked a drink than a soup to us. Taste so fresh and good. Sorbet - English breakfast tea with mint. We needed grind the mint by ourselves and put the sorbet into stone mortar and pestle. White chocolate covered strawberry sorbet balls - That's so cool with dry ice presentation Lemon Parfait - I personally don't like sheep milk and didn't expect bergamot would taste so good with lemon parfait. After big meal, the manger chatted and offered us to visit the kitchen. It's pretty impressed for medium size kitchen and staffs can make such quality of dishes. read more
I ordered the £145 prestige tasting menu at Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, and while most courses tasted good, none were quite mind-blowing. It's usually the other way around, but I actually thought the entrees were significantly better than the appetizers or desserts. In particular, the lamb was delicious but the ravioli and lemonade parfait were ordinary. I was hoping that this restaurant would top my list of favorite Michelin experiences in London, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Oh also, what's up with the co-ed bathroom? // Peas, radish, mint, onion, goat's cheese* // Pressed foie gras - green apples, turnips, watercress, smoked duck // Ravioli - lobster, langoustine, salmon, oxtails and wood sorrel // Poached Isle of Gigha halibut - Atlantic King crab, finger lime, ras el hanout infused broth // Braised, confit and roasted Herdwick lamb - spring vegetable 'navarin' // Soup - pineapple, coconut, kaffir lime // Pineapple coconut and kaffir lime mousse* // Sorbet - English Breakfast tea, mint // Lemonade parfait - honey, bergamot, sheep's milk yoghurt // Elderflower jelly, strawberry ice cream coated in white chocolate, read more

You can make a booking through the website, this is so comfortable. The website is user-friendly and it is quite easy to find the needed information there. I went to the restaurant with my boyfriend, a day ago. We were amazed by the welcoming atmosphere, the elegant furniture, the delicious main courses. I ordered a risotto with roasted veal meat. The taste of garlic and wild mushrooms was strong, but quite good. On the other hand, my boyfriend enjoyed his spiced duck. I recommend trying their special offers. The only negative thing- well, the prices were too high for us. However, we had a special dining experience in this place. And it is a well-known fact that the quality of the food ( and the ingredients on the whole) corresponds with the price of every meal. Don't forget to order the chocolate souffle. It is mouth-watering, If you are a big fan of the chocolate, you will adore this precisely-made dessert. read more

Everything I have to say about the RHRoad restaurant is highly complimentary. There appears to be some turnover in other staff, but overall the service is irreproachable. The ambience is muted and unimposing. We both ordered our appetizers and were gobsmacked by the level of perfection. I had the quail and my date had the artichoke to start off perfectly cooked and at a temperature that made me forget it was just cooked! Finally the dessert came I had a cheese cart and my date had the Belgian chocolates. We were disappointed to even go it felt like a passing dream we wanted more of. The cost was high a whopping 183 pounds but well worth it, to this day I still keep the receipt in my wallet to remind me of how superb service should be! Next time I am in London I will definitely be coming back here for another round! read more

I can safely say that Gordon Ramsey is better on television than he is at running a restaurant. The food and layout of his places are predicable and mediocre derivatives of the genius of others. I think the U.K. has so long lived in the shadow of the great French chefs that they were anxious to have their own truly great member of that club. They went about achieving this in the same way they do pop groups, by promoting the heck out of them. Unfortunately they jumped the gun a bit and backed the wrong bloke. Just as the world began to realize what a fraud and utter jackass Ramsey is, along came the answer to all our culinary prayers in the form of an unassuming, affable bloke, with a bald head and contagious smile. The sooner he erases Ramsey from all of our memories, the better. read more

Chef Gordon Ramsay's three Michelin star, is a homage to classic fine dining in a French way. While the food is executed with delicate precision and exquisite presentation, and the wine list is fabulous, the atmosphere and service is very uptight. Dissapointed in the small portions, they do pack a big punch with flavor and fullness. Make reservations far in advance. Service and food are both impeccable. The wait staff are constantly checking in. Given how often they refilled our glasses we wondered what would happen if we actually finished a glass of water. read more

This is one of the most stylish restaurants I have ever seen. The atmosphere is modern, you feel like you are in a movie or a TV show. Actually, I often think of the interesting episodes when I'm there. Gordon has managed to inspire knowledgeable professionals for years. His passion is admirable and all meals, that are offered in the menu are carefully prepared. Keep in mind that you should make a reservation. Without doubt you are going to enjoy your lunch or dinner. Also, do not enter with an empty credit card or wallet. Just in case take extra cash. read more

This was a culinary EXPERIENCE! The BEST culinary EXPERIENCE of my life! Classy, Detailed, Elegant, Delicious....The food is beyond what words can describe. Everyone has heard of Gordon Ramsay and we were hesitant that this wouldn't live up to "his fame" but it really does. He really has trained his staff so well that you feel very exclusive yourself when you are there. My husband and I can't wait to come back on our next vacation. read more

This place really deserves those 3 Michelin stars. My husband took me here for my birthday and I must say the food was really tasty. The atmosphere was also very nice and the service was off the hook. Those waiter seemed to read my mind, I don't know how they did it. If you want to celebrate a family event at a nice place, you should definitely try Gordon Ramsay. read more

It is very hard to find a table in there so you have to book in advance for at least two weeks. We went there for a special occasion for my brother's birthday. The food and staff were exceptional and it definitely deserves a 5 star. But it is only for special occasions not for a everyday dinner because it is very expensive. read more

Gordon Ramsay, it speaks with its name. The food is amazing with nice presentation and lovely flavor. Even the price is quite expensive but i understand how much effort the chef put in every single dish. The service is of course michellin star standard and I could not fault it. read more

The tasting menu that I did was actually scrumptious, and also the presentation was exceptional. The service was exceptional, however what really differented was the wine list. They have a separate champagne list which absolutely thrills me. read more

From the moment you enter to the moment you leave you get the very best attention here. Certainly right up there with the best in Paris for service. Food was very good but for us not as edgy as we might have liked. read more
