So I work near by with a 45 minute lunch so right off the bat they are busy but that's because everything is made to order. This was my first time here and I gotta say the food was delicious. I got the 3 Papusa combo and it come with black beans and rice which was really good. I haven't had black beans that good in a long time. This place was always closed when my husband and I wanted to try it out. Luckily, we were able to go on a Wednesday afternoon. We ordered mushroom with cheese rice pupusa, loroco with cheese regular masa pupusa, zucchini with cheese regular masa pupusa, and loroco with cheese rice pupusa. The rice pupusas were incredibly soft and such wonderful flavors. I absolutely loved the mushroom pupusa and still think about it. Every bite was scrumptious and heavenly. The regular masa pupusas are sometimes dry especially around the edges but here....it was absolute perfection. Seriously, every bite was amazing. We also ordered pizque tamales and platanos with cream and beans and those were amazing too! The lady makes pizque tamales either with cheese or beans and we got the ones with cheese which were also great but I prefer the beans. The horchata and ensalada were perfect as well! All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience and I really think this will be a staple in our routine. They take card/cash. They also upgraded their dining area with AC for those who were curious. First time coming to this place. Decent service and the pupusas were delicious. I ordered a variety of pupusas and my favorite was the chicken and cheese. I have been here multiple times and the quality of both food and service is inconsistent at best. The first time I came it was great no complaints and slowly over the years the quality has gone down hill. The last couple of times my pupusas have been extremely oily as if they made them in advance and then heated them up and the flavor was odd. The cheese has a odd smell as well. We love that they have plenty of vegetarian options--he usually gets the jalapeño and cheese pupusas, and I get bean and cheese or spinach and cheese or zucchini and cheese. They give of curtido and salsa roja, and they have a spicy sauce if you ask for it. They are not fast but it's because they hand make everything to order. You can order ahead to save time. My family and I got 7 papusas. We tried the Spinach and cheese, bean and cheese, chicken, carne asada, and the mixed papusas. The bean and cheese was spectacular! To me this was the star of the show. My wife thought the carne asada was the best. My son loved the mixed. We were happy with all of the papusas. We were stuffed and has some to take home. We took home is of the Salvadoran cheesecakes. Don't eat inside this restaurant unless you enjoy feeling like a sardine and don't order take out unless you enjoy food that has been horribly disfigured (please see the pictures we posted of our take out boxes once we opened them at home and no, we didn't drop them). -1 Star Service. We waited 20 minutes for 3 pupusas, a platanos and glass of water and an hour for the takeout order while it took maybe 15 minutes to eat the whole thing. +1 Star Price. Good specials +1 Star Taste. Not the greatest but you get what you pay for. -1 Star Will we be going back? We're too old to spend that much time waiting for mediocre food. The pupusas here are so delicious. They are not huge in size but are huge in flavor. They are not bland and dry like most places. Their curtido tasted and looked very fresh and was very tasty. This place food quality was the worst. The pastels was cooked with OLD oil that I was not even able to finish eating it. Also very dry. I also ordered a cheese pupussa and about half an inch was just maza, no cheese. Like that is just gross to just eat maza. An other food item that was not done well was a tamale. The service and food at this location are AMAZING! LIGHTYEARS better than the place across the street! This location serves REAL Salvadorian food (not Papusas along with American/Mexican/etc.) and it is cooked to perfection! THe interior is simply decorated and kind of tight, but it's comfortable and the location (it's in the corner of the strip mall) is often quiet and easy to find parking near. The owner of this place is incredibly kind, and generous, and their Papusa's are AMAZING! Our favorites are the bean & cheese, and the vegetarian (beans, rice, cheese & cream w/ fresh tortillas) dish! 2 Papusa's + the veggie dish are MORE than enough for a meal, and if you wash it down with a "Fruit Salad" fresca drink, it is PERFECT! On our visit, we showed up 10 minutes after the place was supposed to close, yet were treated with patience and generosity and not asked or encouraged to hurry up. I truly can't recommend this place highly enough, and hope more people discover it, as it is truly the best in town, if not the Inland Empire! If i could put ZERO STARS I WOULD. First off the service is HORRIBLE the lady that claims shes a christian woman was super rude asking what i wanted upon arrival instead of being welcoming. Then I WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR MY FOOD ONLY 3 pupusas and 2 fried bananas. At the time of payment which was the part that really ticked me off was she charged me 32.75$ for 3 pupusas and 2 plates of fried bananas and 3 drinks. The price break down was Pupusas 2.75$ each Drinks 1.25$ ( on price chart) Bananas: 6$ each plate Minutes later my brother happened to join us for brunch and She also over charged my brother.. his tab was 26$ for 6 pupusas and 1 drink. All together she robbed us 14$ . I left and minutes later after sitting in my car and doing my math i came up with only having to pay 24$ for my order and my brother was suppost to pay 20$ for his. She claimed that each soda was 3$ after being on the price chart for clearly 1.25$ and thats why she claimed to only have over charged me 1 dollar. When i was talking to her about the incident she was giving me dirty looks and was upset... she handed me the "1$ she owed me ". With a snotty look on her face.
