Chilaquiles with green sauce
Alice C.

I've been living in Riverside for 7 years from Corona. My favorite place in Corona is Eduardo's and couldn't find a good Mexican restaurant locally. I've tried almost every place in Riverside and was disappointed. I was hesitant to try Olivia's due to the low reviews but I thought I'd try it out for myself. The chips were fresh and salsa was perfect for me. I ordered the Chile Relleno and although it was a little salty it tasted really fresh with good flavor. My husband ordered the Chilaquiles. He enjoyed it so much, he wants to come back for more. I see negative reviews for the service but we felt very welcomed and met the famous Olivia. We found a new favorite in Riverside.

We waited about 20 minutes but it's worth it! The place makes you feel like you're in a village in Mexico! The food is amazing and portions are large! TVs in the front and back if you get bored! The decor is from the 70s! The pozole is great I just have to let it cool down a little!

Salsa and chili verde

I have been to over a hundred different Mexican restaurants. This place checks off all the boxes, the best chips and salsa that I have ever had "salsa available on Amazon" their chili verdi is #1 in my opinion, It's no wonder they take first place at every chili Cook-off they enter. Riverside is lucky to have this restaurant. PS, the owner, Olivia is a very sweet lady.

I have nothing but good things to say, the food was delicious and the service was great. All the food is homemade and comes out fresh. Small place but they are quick we didn't wait long for a table. The only thing missing is a bar for cocktails.

I have only been here twice but both times were great! Food is amazing and the service wonderful! They really make you feel at home.

Stacked enchiladas with eggs and chile verde

Foodie Moment We parked in the back lot and walked in from the back to the front to let them know our party size. Waited a little, and they sat us shortly after. I was torn between the menudo and the stacked chile verde enchiladas with 2 eggs--but I went with the enchiladas... and BOMB.COM is an understatement. So delicious. The rice? On point. The beans? Flavorful. But that chile verde? WHEW. Next level. I surprised even myself--I left nothing behind. Not a grain of rice, not a drip of sauce.

Side salad gross ranch was gross. A salad was wilted. Onions were too sharp

So I went to the infamous Olivia's Mexican restaurant in Riverside and I was very disappointed. The food is very mid underwhelming just all in all not good. I am definitely a foodie who enjoys eating just to give you an understanding of me. Me and my partner both didn't finish our meals so I've had a couple bites and then I just asked for a Togo box. Let's start off. I ordered the dinner combo chili relleno, bean tostada and hardshell taco. It was a chicken. I didn't try the chicken or tostada just thought it looked un-appetizing and then when I tasted the beans and rice both were not good. The chips were stale cold I tried to ask the server for new chips. He said that they're fresh and that it's the AC that's making them taste like that he was very kind. the service is not terrible. They're just not the most attentive. I feel like I understand now why this Mexican spot in Riverside is hyped up if you know, you know, I'm a lot of shade of brown and I like my food more traditional more flavorful my partner ordered the supreme meat burrito. You will see how small that supreme meat burrito is literally it was just meat and cheese, which he likes, but I feel like they definitely cheated out on how much meat they put in there look like a quesadilla but like I say, give it a try and then you decide but make sure you bring your the gold card because we paid $63.

This place is a hidden gem in Riverside for authentic Mexican food! We celebrated Mother's Day here with a big group of 13, and the restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate us. The service was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and patient with our lively family. The food? Absolutely *delicious*. Every dish tasted fresh and full of flavor, just like homemade Mexican cooking should. And the leftovers might've been even better the next day (which says a lot!). The ambiance was cozy and inviting, clean, and exactly the kind of spot where you can relax, laugh, and enjoy a great meal with loved ones. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food served with warmth and great hospitality, this is the place. We'll definitely be back!

Olivia's food is always great. I haven't had anything that was bad. Service can be a little slow, especially during times they are super busy. This is a local mom and pop shop. They definitely have a mom and pop feel when you dine here.

Recommended by a friend & I have to say "thank you"! It's hard to find really good Mexican food & we found it! Highly recommend! Staff were friendly & attentive!

Carne Asada Wet Burrito (very delicious and soft) Salsa- very good (obviously homemade) but chips are not. Still good chips, though.

Grrreeaatt Wet Burrito. It was my first time eating here. I have been passing this restaurant many times and finally decided to check this place out. No regrets! Parking in the back. The restaurant is on corner of Magnolia and Van Buren.

Ive been here a few times and the last time was for a birthday party. To me the food is very average. Nothing really stands out as having the wow factor. The service is usually pretty quick which is nice if your in a hurry. The women's restroom was broken on this day which was a huge inconvenience for our large party. We had to get a employee to take us next door through the parking lot to their storage building to use the employees bathrooms. The men's restroom only had a urinal and the toilet was broken in there also.

Location is near Mission Inn on Main Street. Price is on the higher end so plan to pay an average of $30/person. The only thing that was a bummer for us was the loud music for lunch hour experience. The music was loud and made me think it would be best for a club atmosphere? Maybe it was just me but I felt anxiety eating because the music was so upbeat and loud. Music is a big part of the eating experience. I know some people may be fine with it. For example, we had breakfast at Tio's Taco and the music was spot on for the dining experience.

I found out about it through my cousin, who's a UCR alum, and I'm really glad I finally got to try it. The staff were super nice and attentive, constantly coming by our table to check if we needed more water, tortillas, or anything else we might want. Even with how busy it was, they still made sure everyone was taken care of, which I really appreciated. The restaurant was packed, and it actually surprised me because I don't usually see that many people at restaurants in Riverside. The energy inside felt lively but still comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the fresh tortillas. They come out hot and fresh from the oven, and you can literally watch them being made right in front of you, which made it even better. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. The fajitas were incredible, the meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky sear that comes from being cooked fresh on a hot skillet. Everything came out sizzling and stayed flavorful with every bite. The chile relleno was also really good, with a nice balance of savory and slightly creamy filling that paired well with the sauce. It was actually my first time trying fajitas, and I can confidently say I'll be ordering them again the next time I come back. I definitely plan on returning while I'm still at UCR to make up for all the years I didn't know this place existed.

We have not been here since the 90's and I have to say, it was much better back then. All in all, there is just no flavor. The salsa tasted like watery tomatoes, our waitress gave us a little side of habanero salsa to incorporate with it but that heat is the extreme for me. We ordered the Mesquite chicken and steak fajitas which were less than average. Not sure if it was just a bad day, but the taste of the protein did not match up to the wonderful smell of BBQ outside the restaurant. The tortillas were just ok, first batch was not even warm. My Michelada was good though. Bummer visit after being away for so long. Looks like the interior could stand a makeover.

Their Mojarra for one, is amazing with some corn tortillas, beans and rice, and lettuce. The lime garlicky sauce on that one, is what I've been dreaming of. It was THE star of the show. And we also got their wet supreme burrito mojado, with the mole sauce all over it Also tried their agua fresca, loved the cucumber and lime flavor! Great size for two to share, and we had a blast just eating and enjoying the sights laid out to see. Their pickled onions got a spicy kick to it! I loved the added crunch instead of just having the typical hot salsa. Service was great, with the waiters and waitresses checking in on us every now and then, and I liked that we pay first then eat, so we just leave after we're done! Excellent experience as the weather was perfect too, the outdoor seating has some mosquitoes but be sure to go when it's not molting hot outside! I do wish there was a vegan protein thrown in like black beans or soyrizo or something to make it more filling but I'm glad there was a vegan option on the menu. There is a salsa bar that can help add to your meal like spicy pickled carrots, cucumbers, salsa and pickled onions. My favorite part of this place is the art decor. They're all made from materials that were bound to go in the trash, most notably cans that they open for cooking. So you'll see lids and the other material from cans beautifully molded into these structures. It may seem random but I found lots of humor and play thrown into the craftsmanship of it all. Some pieces are like playing I Spy. It was funner to see than a lot of museums I've gone to actually. It's truly just packed with art. I even got to meet one of the artists as he was working on something. He was really friendly. There's a few of them who work on them together and I learned they've been doing this since the 90's! How cool. It's so nice to see all the things they've come up with to create. Go check it out! Definitely a date worthy spot too. My bf and I had a lot of fun walking around seeing what they created.
