Pro tip: ask for the fancy margarita. The house marg is def good. But, the fresh squeezed and top shelf option is even better Overall the food is good. Portions are very generous. I just wished they had a more distinct flavor profile-- perhaps a bit freshers homemade forward flavors.

Classic old school Mexican style restaurant. Food is really good. You get fresh chips and salsa. I like the tacos michoacanos steak w corn tortilla and I ask for a small side of queso to dip. Service is generally fine. Don't be afraid to flag them down when it's busy. They also offer a lunch special.

Don't get the fried ice cream, I was excited about the classic ice cream fried when the dough is warm outside but this was just an ice cream on top of a fried tortilla, disappointing

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening, restaurant was busy with several large parties which made for longer wait times. When we did have service it was fantastic. Very friendly and she made fantastic food recommendations. Decor was nice, but a lot of food droppings everywhere.

Wrapping up our last lunch of 2021 with some authentic Mexican food. We enjoyed their tacos. Service was quick and they were very friendl. Definitely a great spot for some good food. No frills nothing to fancy. Great place and will definitely make the drive to Bradenton again to enjoy their food and drinks.

Went last night for dinner with friends. Not a big margarita drinker, so mine lasted the entire meal. Salsa was good, chips okay. Ordered the California burrito which was large and tasty, consisting of rice, beans, cheeses, tomatoes, mushrooms and chicken ( our choice of filling). It was hot and delicious. Server was fair: friendly but not too attentive nor engaging. Place was packed, always a good sign. Will most likely return in the future.

The food came out super quick and was hot and delicious!! Their drinks were good too, I love the variety of their drinks and the cute different glasses they use. Our waiter was fast and he made sure that we had everything we needed except at the end when they were closing up, his attention was diverted and we had to wait a bit for our check. The restaurant itself was a bit dirty on the floor and table a little and the place smelled a little weird, but all that aside it's a good typical place to grab a bite and some different drinks!

Tequila's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I usually have fajitas, but wanted something different today. I didn't mix it up much, but I had the fajita quesadilla. I'm not a fan of beans and asked to swap for guac and said I was fine with an up charge. The server wasn't sure if he could do that, but said he thought the kitchen would be fine swapping beans for sliced avocados. I truly appreciated him working with me to provide a meal I wanted and it was super tasty! I would definitely order this exact meal again. I don't recall my server's name but he was a great server, also.

Absolutely the worst Mexican food I've had! Drinks are so small and expensive! I would never go back!

Good pretty bland chimachanga the worst ever. Covered with red sauce not fried. Chips hard and unsalted. Best are the margaritas.

The 5 piece was enough for one person. We also ordered the steak flautas that comes with avocado and lettuce. Everything looked delicious, but the chicken was a little dry. It seems like the chicken is all prepared earlier and warmed up, so it was not as juicy as we would have liked. Inside of the flautas were also a bit dry. The rice was good, but I was not a big fan of the beans because they were salty. We also ordered the large pineapple drink, which was perfect for such a hot day.

When you order, the food comes out super quick. We opted for the 6 piece with rice and charro beans, which comes with at least 10 fresh tortillas. Don't expect heavy cheese or sauces- this is all about the chicken. I imagine it could be dry depending on when it was cooked, but what we had was flavorful and juicy. Served with a smile and in a small rating area. Definitely worth the trip to check them out

But, don't pass it by because it's not fancy because the food makes it worth going in!! You can enter the driveway through the front or, like us, miss that and go down the next road to another entrance. The parking lot is big-with plenty of parking in front near the entrance. We were greeted at the front and shown to a booth. Social distancing is not a problem since the place is huge! We were given menus but we planned ahead via menus on Yelp. I ordered my normal chile relleno and hubs ordered the chicken fajitas. The chips and salsa were good and the margaritas were excellent!! They tasted like they were made of fresh ingredients and delicious! And at $3 on Thursday for the small one which was perfect size for me! Walqiidia was our server. She always very good! She seemed to come by no matter how busy she was. The chile relleno was scrumptious!! It was like I would get in Mexico. Nice light sauce on the fried chile which may have been baked because it was tender. Just how I like it!! Hubs loved the chicken fajitas!! The chicken was tender and both the chicken, onions and peppers were charred from the grill. The meals were served with rice and refried beans which were good. Tortillas were good, too! If you care about good food over ambiance, I definitely can recommend El Sombrero. I've read that different days/chefs made a difference in the food so I will update if that happens. I can't wait to go back!!

The food is not bad, not at all, it's just very, very bland. We're in Palmetto, where there is a lot of Mexican people, so I was hoping the food would be a little more authentic tasting to appeal to the locals, but it appears as if the demographic they are trying to appeal to are the older folks, because honestly, this is how I would expect Mexican Night at a nursing home food to taste. Absolutely no spice in any dishes, all of them taste the same. This is a nice restaurant and I really want to see them do well, because they are so close to my house and with all the traffic going to Bradenton, it would be nice to have a great restaurant that's only a 2 minute drive away, but we end up driving to other Mexican restaurants, passing right by this one. Like I said, the food isn't bad, it will do if you are in a hurry or if your elderly relatives are visiting, but a little spice would be nice! I'll keep trying them, but after 5 visits, nothing has changed.
