The food was excellent. We started with the guacamole, had four entrees for two adults and two kids, and finished with churros. Everything tasted great. The ambiance was also a plus. The restaurant is very well decorated, and the Spanish music played at an appropriate volume and added to the experience. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Both kids received the wrong meals, and once the restaurant got busy our waitress disappeared for a noticeable amount of time. This place has been a great find. Have not been disappointed by anything that we've ordered. Margaritas are offered in several flavors, come filled to the rim, (or close to it), and come with a nice little kick. One may be plenty. First, the menu was done by someone who has no sense of typography or design leaving it difficult to read. The yelp page says they have "many" vegetarian dishes. Actually it is just four dishes. One of our meals was served cold. He had to go looking for the waiter. It took several more minutes for them to come collect his plate. Others were done by the time he got his meal back. I got the veggie combination. The cheese enchilada and bean burrito. Both were drenched in some spice that overwhelmed all other flavors. Did it come across that the service was poor? Went last night for dinner with friends. Not a big margarita drinker, so mine lasted the entire meal. Salsa was good, chips okay. Ordered the California burrito which was large and tasty, consisting of rice, beans, cheeses, tomatoes, mushrooms and chicken ( our choice of filling). It was hot and delicious. Tequila's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I usually have fajitas, but wanted something different today. I didn't mix it up much, but I had the fajita quesadilla. I'm not a fan of beans and asked to swap for guac and said I was fine with an up charge. The server wasn't sure if he could do that, but said he thought the kitchen would be fine swapping beans for sliced avocados. I truly appreciated him working with me to provide a meal I wanted and it was super tasty! I would definitely order this exact meal again. Food is superb, savory and one of the finest tasting Mexican places we have been to in the Tampa/St.Pete/Bradenton/Sarasota region. Place is in a run down shopping center, but don't let that fool you. Inside is beautifully decorated that you wouldn't know it from the outside. We came at roughly 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was almost empty. We thought maybe Yelp had led us astray once again. But not this time. Yelp was spot on. The food is outstanding. First time, last time. The worst Mexican food and drinks I've ever had. I got a large $15 margarita that had no alcohol and watered down mix. The "quesadilla" is like a soft shell taco. Keep in mind that they just opened up after COVID-19 restrictions. The crowd is very small and the eating area is taped off like a crime scene. Margarita is absolutely wonderful. Enchiladas Banderas was really good. I asked to have them mixed under the sauce, but got 3 chicken under red sauce and cheese sauce and 3 ground beef under cheese sauce and green Chile sauce. That's my only complaint though. People coming in are smiling and happy to be back. Many customers are absolutely happy to be back. I look forward to the lift of the restrictions. The service here is fantastic and the decor is real pretty. Maybe friends got Fajitas and they really love them. My significant other got the enchiladas with Molé sauce but he was not very happy with it. I got the fish tacos and was excited because the menu said they made them with cabbage but They don't use cabbage, they use lettuce and put a bunch of pico de gallo on top which it doesn't say that on the menu. I have rarely had service as rude and entitled As this place. Tried to order food from Door Dash, and there was no way to order Salsa. so I simply called to inquire how to get it. Girl said she didnt know to try and get me to hang up. I asked if she could find out real quick. She starts asking then she just hangs up. I call back, she answers in spanish thinking it will throw me off, she says hold on. She just puts the phone down for several minutes off mute going about her business, laughing then eventually hangs up. I called until they finally answered, asked for a manager she is laughing talks to someone tells me they "just left".
