Terasse Season Here we Goooo!!!!! This was our first time…read moregoing out on an actual real date in like forever well ever since the last lockdowns... so going out is like a jail free card on the monopoly board game lol and we're the players! Okayyy so we picked baton rouge as it was the closest and also the one that had a spot for us on a Friday night. As we walked in we were greeted by the hostess.. She was nice to us but to the folks in front of us (who were not in the same family house) she was pretty mean and obnoxious to... I mean if theyre on a date and they don't live together yet .. thats kinda tough to go out on dates if you only accept the 1 household bubble rule.. just didn't like the way she treated the people before us.. for us it was simple we got our spot pretty quickly with a reservation indeed. We sat near the exit with less people so it was great. Our waiter came in a jiffy got some Bloody Marry's and rum and coke for the hubby it was really delish!!! Definitely recommend the bloody marry's ! We decided to eat healthy .. so we sticked with the salad meal as our dinner with grilled chicken it was good but next time ill ask for the dressing on the side it was drenched in dressing and didn't feel so light ! The grilled chicken was good ! My husband had the sante fe dish pretty good he said! Chicken breast was cooked nice and the goat cheese was yummy I ever snatched a few bites. Overall service and food was great quick and super attentive.. I just wished the hostess would be more understanding and kinder to the customers walking in even if they don't know all the rules that keep changing every single day.. at least be more polite and make them feel welcomed instead of shaming them.. in the end without customers you wouldn't have a job... so be kind and respectful ! We might go back the waiter and the food were +++++5!!! So maybe talk to your hostess !

With all the horror stories about food poisoning, antibiotics and hormones, it's nice to be able to…read moreknow the source of what we eat! This place is about short proximity supplies of great quality, natural, organic food. They grow their own beef, control the process at the slaughterhouse and sell it directly to the public. The meat is individually wrap and frozen quickly to make sure that the quality remain high. This enable them to offer a wide choice of cuts and the vacuum packing enables quick unfreezing in cold water. On this nice spring day, we settle to have our first bbq of the season but our plan was rather a late one... we didn't have a bbq and it was 4 pm and stores were closing at 5 pm on this Saturday. After stoping in Hudson to buy a charcoal Weber (with charcoal) we asked the store if they knew of a butcher in town and one of the girl directed us vaguely to this producer. We got there at 4:30 pm and were greeted by a nice and very enthusiastic woman who gladly showed us their variety of cuts available. For our bbq, we settle on a great porterhouse steak which she suggested would take about an hour to unfreeze in cold water. We also bough some bacon and fresh eggs. At home, we unfroze the steak while assembling the bbq and proceeded to cook our steak. A porterhouse is a higher quality t-bone and is big enough to share (a part of it is the "filet mignon"). I shared the sirloin part with my partner (who had a small part with her salmon) and our son got the filet mignon. It was probably the tastier piece of meat I ever had in North America! We followed up with bacon and eggs on the next morning and it was absolutely great. They don't produce their own pork and chickens but source it from nearby places they know and they make sure that those follow the same organic, humane process that they do for their beef. An awesome place to know and we will be back often. My philosophy with meat is that it is better to eat less of it but when you do, source it with high quality. This place makes it possible and easy to do for us! They also have a place in Terrebonne for those that find it more convenient.

In pre-covid days we would often host brunch parties here. For this latest party, we had a private room on the top floor on the left of the house/ restaurant that easily seated 8 and it was wonderful. In some places you might worry about being "away" from the main action in regards to being forgotten but definitely not in this case. The attention from our waitress and servers was top-notch and they were always there when we needed them. The food was as hot and tasty (and filling!) as always. This time around I went with the Grilled chicken sandwich as I wanted to try something different from my usual :) It was good but I must admit to preferring the Reuben's :)

Luckily, we were in the area last Saturday and decided to drop by for lunch. Best decision ever. It's a byow, first of all. Usually I am not too impressed with byob's because the quality/price ratio tends to be pretty low, however Carambola is one of the few exceptions to the rule. We devoured the braised beef Poutine with aged cheddar and the spicy fried chicken burger. The perfectly crispy hot chicken was served in a soft homemade pretzel bun. The Poutine was just out of this world. Everything was tasty, delicious and balanced. Verdict: it's really worth the trip! Can't wait to come back to try the dinner menu.

The service staff were very pleasant and the young owner Ryan came over and explained where each ingredient was from and how the sauces were made. I have since been back multiple times to try the seasonal menu changes and I am continually impressed by each dish that comes out of the kitchen. I like to sit by the bar overlooking the kitchen and the chef/owner Reid is very entertaining. He actually walked me through his thought process on creating the dishes and the protein/vegetable/sauce combinations. My new favorite spot in Hudson to take friends and business clients. Would highly recommend it.
