I had a great experience hiring RestoreX to deal with a leak in my half-bathroom. Not that you ever WANT to have to call a remediation company. But my toilet had been installed incorrectly and had been leaking under the floor, so I needed help. RestoreX was very on the ball: responsive to my requests, showed up when they said they would, and sent friendly technicians who knew what they were doing. They cut the drywall, disinfected the framing, and dehumidified the heck out of that bathroom. One thing that tickled me - I knew that one of the walls in my bathroom hadn't been impacted by the leak, but I didn't say that to RestoreX at the outset. I just showed them the room and asked how they would handle it. Both Javier who did the estimate and Rio who managed the work noticed that this particular wall didn't need to be touched, and they didn't try to upsell me and include it in the cost. Restore x came out to my home to remove mold,the first 2 guy's that came out were great. 2months later they returned for the second part. Different guy's, when I got home from work found that only 2 outlets in back room were working. We let them know and they addressed the issue the next day. The same day they supposedly fixed it, I stopped by during work, he showed me a video that he got it to work. As I'm standing in front of him we tried the outlets and none worked. He said another contractor came by and he watched him connect to a outlet that was causing the problem,I asked why didn't you say something to him he said he didn't work for him so he didn't have to say anything even if he knew it was going to leave me with no electricity. Had to go back to work so returned that evening to a home with no electricity. These guys were sent by insurance, the way these company's make themselves look like high star companies is because they only ask for reviews when the job goes good not when the job goes bad that's how you manipulate yelp reviews. Terrible job by unskilled workers. Half of the work was incomplete and the tear down was sloppy. They moved the Urn of my newly deceased uncle and tossed it aside. The bench in the shower was not dismantled but rather just broke. It was supposed to have been removed. If you want a competent company look elsewhere. read more

Restorex didn't have the capacity to deal well with the mold issues in my kitchen. It was only when I switched to a much larger company that I realized how much more efficient and effective remediation can be. I didn't start out understanding much about the process, and communication with Nory King at Restorex didn't really clarify some basic issues. A very long, protracted disagreement over the scope of the project is what led me to switch. The new company employed or had access to people who were proficient in several areas: project management, mold remediation, asbestos abatement, testing, and restoration, whereas with Restorex, Nory King was the only person I interacted with. Nory wanted to remove cabinets and drywall that had never been wet based on his "Spidey sense." The bigger company determined the scope by incremental removal and examination of drywall by an asbestos expert who was also expert at identifying mold--it turned out that two sets of cabinets Nory wanted to remove didn't need remediation. The most egregious of Restorex's shortcomings was in the quality of its remediation. Nory removed drywall and insulation under and behind the sink, but left pieces of insulation sticking to the exposed wood, indicating that he hadn't thoroughly wire brushed it as he should have done. The new company corrected this and left the wood spotless. The new company also guaranties their work for three years. Restorex doesn't appear to offer a guarantee. Normally I like to work with smaller, local businesses, but I believe mold remediation is too important to be entrusted to a company that may not have the resources to do the best job. The impact on health and building integrity is too great. read more

We asked Restorex to do an urgent deep clean on a house in Santa Rosa. They were just wonderful. Came that same afternoon to review and quote, arrived the next morning to get cracking, and cleaned the entire house top to bottom in three days. I went back and forth about whether we would leave a review, and ultimately decided I would because if I had read anything close to the poor experience we had with RestoreX we would not have let them in our home. Manny seems like a nice guy, but I think it's possible he agreed to do work beyond the capabilities of his company. After we discovered a leak, we hired Manny to remove Sheetrock, clean up any mold/fungus discovered, and to clean up rat excrement. We were told they would establish what is basically a negative pressure room for the demolition process to keep the contamination contained. This statement was positioned in contrast to construction companies, that Manny claimed would not do this. This is why we picked This company over our other options. The day the work was meant to start, no one showed up during our time window. We had to call and remind them of our appointment. It was clear were not on the schedule and no one was coming. Hours after the start window we had originally agreed to went by, to 2 workers were dropped off and left to work. They did the demolition work with no containment measures as promised. In fact, the work they did was no different from what a construction company would have done at a higher price. I'm also fairly certain the folks doing the work were day laborers, untrained in mold removal (but this is just a guess). When the workers were done, they piled trash bags of Sheetrock in our garage to the point where we couldn't close the door, then proceeded to leave without informing us and with plans to leave our garage open and home accessible to anyone who walked by. Thankfully my partner saw them walking away and asked if the work was done, while still walk away they said "oh yea, we're done someone will get the trash tomorrow". I called and complained about the trash piled on our garage door sensor, the lack of negative pressure room, and a bunch of other things. I also complained that the work was unfinished and I was told by his company earlier that day it would take one day. Manny came to collect the trash and we talked. He was perfectly nice, he claimed the claimed the air filtration is meant to happen after the demolition, then he placed a HEPA filtration unit in the room. I knew this was a misstatement but didn't press the issue in that moment. He also claimed the invoice explained the process would take 3 days. I looked over the invoice repeatedly, and the only place is said anything about a time range was in small print under how long they would charge me for the use of the hepa filtration unit. In our conversation I told Manny I didn't want any of the other quoted work to be done (outside of the air filtration unit), and I would do the rest of the work myself. He suggested he would have his crew open up the wall a little more. I agreed to that. I asked for a new invoice that reflected our new agreement. The time window came and went when his crew was supposed to arrive to finish the work and no one showed up. I had to call and it was clear AGAIN that we were not on the schedule. When the crew finally arrived. They had no idea what they were suppose to be doing. I had to tell them what the plan was. Then one of them asked if I had a bathroom they could wash up in when they were done...DURING COVID...I was beyond frustrated. Once the crew was done I went in to look over the work and discovered they had damaged my garage floor when they removed the protective cover. They had ripped off long strips of paint...and the worst part was that no one bothered to tell us. I received the new invoice from Manny and even though the scope of the work had changed dramatically the price had barely moved. He attempted to charge us for supplies never used. I send him a highly frustrated email. He replied well and we reset the price. He sent a new invoice with no information on how to pay, then contacted us a couple later about not paying even though there was no information on how to pay. We were waiting for him send a paypal link or something and he never did. We replied and let him know we want to pay but there is no information on how to day. We got no response for OVER A MONTH. He finally replied, about a week ago, he is now attempting to rush payment. Manny was a nice guy. This review isn't about personalities. I'm writing this because if I had known how bad this experience could suck I never would have picked this company. I hope to save others from the experience we had with this company. read more

You know when you need to call a biohazard clean up company that you're not having a great week. We were getting a new water heater installed which required plumbing work under the house. The installation came to a quick halt when sewage was found underneath the house from a leaking pipe. They called me at one point over a week after they came to provide an estimate and claimed they had already completed the job. I had to step in too many times to get them started. I couldn't be happier with the service that I got from RestoreX at every point in the process and highly recommend them! They were professional, honest, and cleaned up after themselves! We had a bad water leak under the kitchen floor, the connection on one of the pipes that had been replaced 5 years earlier had failed and the water from the kitchen sink, dishwasher and washing machine was all accumulating under the kitchen floor. I called RestoreX on a Wednesday at about 4:45pm, they asked for the approximate square footage of the area which I gave them and they gave me an estimate over the phone. They sent a service manager out first thing Thursday morning and he established the damage had gone all the way under the dining room floor. He said they'd be out first thing on Friday to do the work, which they did. On Thursday afternoon they sent me a quote that was within the range they had quoted me over the phone even though the area was larger. The work was completed in about two hours and there was no mess left even though they had to take out all the mud under the floor (the water had luckily dried up because we weren't using the appliances). They left a big fan on the outside of the house attached to the duct in the kitchen until the following Wednesday to dry it up and sealed all the vents around the house. The duct collapsed over the weekend, but when I called on Sunday, someone answered and said they'd be out in the morning to fix it, which they did. Fantastic service, thank you RestoreX! read more

Manny was very responsive and after getting quotes, RestoreX was not only the best price, but he was really the only company that was up to take on the project.
