We…read morewent to an urgent care facility and they ran X-rays and said there might be a fracture, but they wanted a specialist to review it for them. Checked my insurance and these guys were in Network. We schedule the appointment and show up the next AM. In addition to the $35 copay, they tell me there is a $250 deposit required for treatment. We see the Doctor for maybe 10 minutes and he can't find anything on the xrays, tells us my daughter likely has complex regional pain syndrome and there's nothing he can do. By the way CRPS is super rare and according to other physicians I've since spoken with - highly unlikely this is this case. Upon exiting, I ask the receptionist about the $250 since we received no treatment. She tells us she doesn't know what to do, and we need to call Denise to resolve. Great. Here we go. I call Denise and she is baffled why they didn't cancel the charge at the office and she will look into it and call me right back - that was several days ago. Since then, went to a second wrist Orthapedic specialist and he said a bad sprain, no fractures. $35 copay only. I call Denise back this afternoon and she tells me no one has called her back and she will have to file a claim. I should expect $100 "sometime". $100 - I paid 250 + the $35 copay. I realize that sir, but that's our policy. Folks, this place is shady and now I'm going to see if my insurance company can press for resolution, if not, attorney time (work benefit). Avoid these guys like the plague!

PSA: NEVER take your child to Pediatric Orthopedic Associates. I took my daughter to the location…read moreon Big Shanty Rd inside the CHOA Kennesaw and they are 100% scammers. My daughter had two sprains and a fracture to her ankle and went there for a consult AFTER getting X-rays from the ER. They charged a $300 deposit upon check in PLUS the $150 office visit, even though we have very good health insurance. The "doctor" looked at the ER's X-rays for two minutes and sent us on our way. Then we got a $2,000 bill in the mail for SURGERY, anesthesia, and surgery consult we never had, plus charged us for X-rays they never took, and charges for FUTURE office visits we never scheduled. For the past FOUR months we have explained this to them and yet they keep billing us. Now they have the collection agents harassing me for bogus charges and bills we DON'T owe. Spread the word. Don't trust these people with your children!!!

The staff in the lobby are rude and loud when speaking to patients/visitors. Due to HIPAA this should not be allowed. However the wait for payment is not long at all. Being that I'm self pay they took my money really fast.-but the wait to get to a room is Ridiculous! Finally we are in the back the triage nurse was really pleasant. Doctor comes in she's really pleasant. AGAIN the wait... We are now waiting for test results to one back. Did c says "Test should be ready in 30 minutes" I bet you can guess it's been 40 minutes and still no test. We legit could have been in and out of Wellstar urgent care by now. We arrived at this facility at 11:30am there were 5 kids in front of us 3 were well and 2 were sick visits. It is now 2pm. I may as well took my baby to the emergency room. This experience was absolutely horrible. We will never return to CHOA Urgent Care Town center...

The patient rooms are pretty small. The Doctor was professional and thorough. He answered all my questions and prescribed my child with medicine. The nurse was so sweet she also brought my son a popsicle which was nice, since he wasn't well and had trouble keeping down his fluids. Altogether I was in and out of the urgent care facility within an hour.
