I don't think that the optician knew the inventory or the styles available. The optician was not at all engaged and seemed disinterested in helping us. When we left, the optician just went back to surfing the internet. The eye exam was OK, but I only saw the doctor after dialation. Someone else did the refraction, so that was odd. There are plenty of optical shops in town, so no need to go back to this one.

I have now had the first eye done and I must say that Dr. Neahring and all of his staff at the Curry County Hospital were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. My surgery went well and Dr Nearing what's exceptional at explaining everything to me as he progress through the procedure. Now, I am absolutely amazed at the sight I have in this eye!! The clear crisp vision is awesome! The colors that I see are so beautiful and vibrant, especially compared with what I experienced while I had the cataract. I am excited to wake in the mornings to experience this beautiful vision that now allows me to experience all the beauty that coastal Oregon has to offer!! I get my second eye done in four weeks!! We have spent well over a thousand dollars between both places with no resolution with the swollen retina, except that he will need cataract surgery (no referral for that, though). As my husband is British and waiting for his green card, he has no insurance, so this is all out of pocket. We are retired and this is quite a hardship. The people at the desk were quite brusque and when I inquired about an appointment for myself, they acted like I was looking for a handout (I have insurance). I will never set foot in there again. Ended up going to America's Best in Tigard for my eye exam, which only came to $65 instead of $160 at Lincoln City, plus I was treated courteously, got an appointment quickly and now have my new glasses without getting ripped off.

They've had to send my glasses back twice because the glass was cut improperly. Covid has definitely made things more difficult, but it seems to me that this is a great opportunity for this really solid clinic (great doctors, friendly and patient staff) to reevaluate their relationship with their lab. When I got home, I pulled the previous 2 exams and the prescription looked wildly off so I scanned the three prescriptions and emailed them, asking to have the doctor review them since I did not want to order lenses that may not be correct. A week went by and no reply.... The previous prescription the doctor wrote but the staff couldn't give it to me when I was leaving because the doctor had left for the day - the prescription has an electronic signature so I don't get that at all! I just don't get the incompetence of this office and their staff. This is the second bad experience but there won't be a third.

I honestly feel this was the most thorough and precise eye exam I have ever had. I also came away with a much better understanding of my eyes and the issues affecting my vision. My new prescription is absolutely perfect--the best eyeglass prescription I have ever had! One issue with the original frames I selected. They weren't quite large enough to accommodate my prescription properly, which made it difficult for me to read through the bottom portion of the lenses. I returned and selected a larger pair of frames, and that immediately solved the problem. I believe it took only about a week to receive the replacement glasses.
