Recently i had an appointment to see if the "sty" on my upper eyelid needed to be removed by Dr. Abowd. After waiting an hour and having an assistant want to numb my eye with out even knowing if my eye needed treatment, I left the office. I've always like and had confidence in Dr. Abowd but an hour wait is ridiculous. Also no one communicated with me to say there would be a wait. That is typical of this office. No one has ever said anything about the unusually long waits. As much as I hate to not use Dr. Abowd, I need to go to an office that respects patients.

Then I had to go back to getting them. For me topical gel pain meds that go on the top of eye when the meddle goes deep into your eye does not work.He stated it's not painful I have people from 7 to 85 That get them and they don't think it is painful ,but if you want to scream go ahead I don t care. When l asked him for pain meds or something else he said my insurance does not cover it . It also was painful at the injection site for 10 days I saw Drs at the Cleveland clinic and got a pain shot first and then injection. Much better and one day recovery Now how do you explain that he could not get them to pay another one could ? Also during the other appointment they said he did some questionable work Now it s up to you if you go or not.

6 months ago I nervously entered the building to receive LASIK. I had observed a patient enter the…read moreoperating room right before me and I was able to see part of the surgery on the screen. The doctor who took me in was so calm, pleasant, and gentle that I felt so calm going into the operating room. He talked to me the entire time and spoke about things he was doing. The surgery happened so quickly and I was out the door in about 30 minutes. The pressure on the eye was interesting but I felt absolutely no pain. All the side effects they said I would notice did occur and I felt prepared for that due to their preparation prior to surgery. I am six months out now and I have not had any issues, I am able to see clearly and even would say that I see better now than I could with glasses or corrective lenses.
