He was looking at pictures of my retina, I asked if this was from the stroke? He snapped and said we're not talking about that right now! He was raising his voice, and he comes and takes my hand and told me I need to relax! I jerked my hand away. I never raised my voice! He kept raising his, I got up to leave and told him he was condescending and arrogant. I told him I'm here because my left side of my face goes numb and my eye has been affected since the stoke. It was just a simple question because I had concerns! He would not answer me. His assistant had to push him out the door. What a guy!! Ask a question and get yelled at. I guess when you're seeing 70 or 80 patients a day you don't have time to answer questions!! I've never seen a professional person act this way!! Never go see him!!!

I have an eye condition that needed to be seen on an emergency basis, the morning before a three day weekend. I live in the Sierra foothills, but happened to be in Modesto. After several hours and calls to three different practices (including Sutter where my primary doctor is located), I found Advanced Retina Institute. The receptionist immediately understood and validated my medical concern. She was able to get me an appointment to be seen by Dr Chandron in 20 minutes. When I arrived the reception team and technicians were all incredibly kind. With a very busy office, they moved me through the steps toward seeing the doctor with amazing efficiency. Dr Chandron listened to my concern, gave me a thorough exam and talked with me about a plan to address my eye emergency over the weekend. We scheduled a convenient follow up based on my tight schedule the following week. They were incredibly flexible with appointment times. My follow up appointment was equally impressive. I love Dr Chandron's positive, kind, considerate, and proactive approach to eye healthcare. This practice is outstanding! I've decided to move my eye care to Dr Chandron, even though Advanced Retina Institute is an hour and thirty minutes from home.

Not to mention that the first retinal specialist in his own office that she saw just about 6 weeks ago did not refer her to the retinal surgeon. He left my 75 year old mother terrified that her one good eye may be deteriorating to the point of possibly needing a risky surgery; she was so terrified of going completely blind that she could not drive for an hour after leaving his office! Yes, doctors can have differing opinions, but the only way to see if this condition has been progressing to the point of possibly needing surgery is to compare the images of the retina from year to year. All he did was scare her half to death, but did not do his job properly, which would have been to get the old images, talk to previous specialists and THEN make a recommendation

He explained everything slowly and clearly to me. He had a wonderful sense of humor and put me at ease immediately. Weil getting ready for surgery he again explained how quickly the surgery would go how many he has done and any risks involved. He put me completely at ease. During the surgery, he was patient and concerned. I could not ask for a better physician. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs work on their eyes. Your eyes are precious. I was actually referred to this provider by a family member who had gotten lasik by Dr. Ash over 10…read moreyears ago. I ended up choosing Dr. Ash to do my lasik in March and it wasn't quite the experience you read about. Besides the actual procedure being very uncomfortable, but it was quick... my eyes burned so bad that night that they wouldn't stop watering or hurting. I did not get prescribed pain meds, so I was told to use OTC ibuprofen and it only helped slightly. I did have a follow up the next day and the whites of my eyes were dark red for about 6 weeks, which they said could happen, I guess. I was supposed to get scheduled for a 1 week post op, a 1 month post op, a 2 month post op, etc. They haven't bothered to schedule me. I've called twice to get post op care and they keep stating they will call me and never do. I've gotten no post op care since the day after my surgery. That is scary. Something could be wrong and I wouldn't even know it. I paid in full the day of the procedure, so they have their money and I guess thats all they care about. I do not get the impression they care about their patients and I do not recommend this provider whatsoever. This is a serious procedure that was not cheap, they should make sure their patients are taken care of, healing well, and got the results they were seeking.

We met a couple while waiting ,40 min past a postop appointment time, tell us the dr had nicked something else in his eye during surgery. Geez. Dr.Lutosky is nice but up in age. Her appts are not booked for appropriate timing. She's had a lot of years experience but maybe retirement is close. If you come here expect to wait, and wait. Matter fact I'm writing this at 11:35 and my moms appt was 10:45. Still waiting to get in room with dr. I'd give this more of a 2 1/2 star.
