You will find that the quality here far exceeds any of the stuff you'll find at a Home Depot is for instance, and in some cases even Lowe's. They deal mostly in ceramic, and clay pottery. I was trying to find some plastic or resin pieces that were durable, and the owner had suggested to try a few other places. He didn't have the inventory, but he was still very friendly in suggesting some other spots to try. I do wish they would carry some thick, resin or plastic pots that are 1/8 to 1/4 in thickness. I'm sure this would be my go-to spot if that were the case. For now, I'm stuck with the big corporate places. In general though, if you're looking for a piece that's going to stand out in your garden, something as a focal point, or conversational piece, I think you'll find that this place might have what you're looking for.

I asked FOUR different employees for help while standing there waiting. The Pro Service department was literally right across from the tile cutters and multiple workers saw me standing there. One slimmer employee with a beard acted like he was going to help, then walked around me and went over to Nelly instead of actually assisting me. It honestly felt like they were more focused on flirting and talking to each other than helping customers. Nelly kept peeking her head around the Pro Service area watching me wait and still chose not to help. I stood there for around 10 minutes waiting just to get someone to unlock a simple item. The only reason I finally got helped was because a very nice manager happened to walk by and stepped in. To make things worse, when Nelly finally rang me up she was rude the entire time. Instead of handing me the receipt professionally, she just told me "grab your receipt" while it printed out. No customer service, no apology, nothing. The manager was the only good part of the entire experience. Everyone else acted annoyed that they had to do their job. Definitely one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time.

When I approached the downstairs counter, the associate Francy said she would need to see my receipt to determine whether she could help. I pulled out my receipt, but she did not look at it and instead began walking away, then told me the exchange would need to be done upstairs. This was inconvenient since I was actively shopping downstairs and carrying purchased items. When I went upstairs, the associate there was very kind and completed the exchange without issue. She also mentioned that exchanges can be processed downstairs, which made the earlier refusal confusing and inconsistent. I also asked Francy if my pillowcases and a purchased bag could be held behind the counter while I continued shopping. My request was met dismissively, and I was not assisted. Another associate eventually helped me, though the interaction felt abrupt and unwelcoming. While I appreciate the help I received upstairs, the overall experience felt unnecessarily difficult and inconsistent with the level of service I expect from Crate & Barrel. Note: Also the attendant upstairs was amazing and Shawn the manager was very kind as well!

When I attempted to exchange an item I received as a gift, the manager initially tried to deny this policy. I felt disrespected throughout the interaction, and it seemed the process was made difficult in an effort to discourage me from completing the exchange. They have an incredible variety and are very helpful in store and as brokers to find what you are looking for even if they don't have it in store. Great staff too! Love the background music too, especially the jazz - keeps me in my happy place while treasure hunting. We love the Retail Therapy sessions held on the first Friday of every month, not only is there wine, cheese and crackers and sweets and treats, but the entire store is discounted 15% - that's always a welcome bonus. Who didn't love a discount?! My most favorite type of therapy. We've enjoyed getting to know the owners and some of the dealers who happen to be there when we are, they're helpful and informative. And on the QT, sometimes they authorize discounts - if they can - on the items in their booths, especially when you buy multiple items. I saw on their Instagram that the next Retail Therapy session will be a Christmas Party - we'll be there with bells on and bringing our shopping list! Highly recommended to others. And while you're there, there's a number of antique stores there on Sherman Way - they're gradually working to revitalize the Historic Antique Row in Canoga Park. 2 new stores have been born out of the dealers in Main Street Vintage - check out Artfully Made (Sherman Way, all handmade items) and Vintage Home (Owensmouth, just opened 11/2/25), plus the owners also have Retro Relics 2 doors away from Main Street Vintage - another great selection there! Hope you have as much fun as we do. And visit the Real Juicery on Remmet for great juices, smoothies and bowls (more great owners!). Plus, 2 coffee shops opened this year on Sherman Way, Trio and Jessie's Grind (latter has the most fabulous doors!!) Support our local businesses .
