I love World Market- this is the closest location to me and if I lived any closer I'd be here every day. It's currently the start of the holiday season and there are so many cute things on the shelves including advent calendars, holiday mugs and ornaments. I got here early thinking it was an hour after opening but they opened at 10am today. There were several people already in line to play the Golden Nutcracker game (they aggressively hunt for the hidden nutcracker to get $). I get overstimulated easily so I made my way around the store at my own pace but after 15- 20 min of shopping, all 3 nutcrackers had been found. So I guess people have turned somehting that's supposed to be fun into an annoying Supermarket Sweep-like experience. Yes it is a fun place to shop, and all sorts of "foreign" goodies to purchase. We have just returned from several years in the UK - when we lived in Ann Arbor Michigan I whipped in World Market regularly to buy English goodies. Why only 3 stars - basically it is still an interesting store to look around but the prices somehow seemed astronomical - basically we we just looking for some simple Christmas tree ornaments - nothing fancy at all. I expected maybe $100 max - but ended up over $224!!! Wow! We weren't looking for quality stuff since we have some wonderful items coming back from the UK, and the tree is just a fake tree with lights already incorporated. :( read more

This is just my personal experience today and I have to say, all the workers here are so nice and helpful. And one worker was kind enough to let me know she's behind me, because she said she was wearing soft sole shoes, she didn't want to startle me, just in case if I didn't hear her coming. Only reason why I'm here, is to look for Hello Kitty Merch, and I'm happy to see that they still carry them from Mugs, to Snacks that is Hello Kitty themed and Cosmetic brushes and mystery boxes. Only thing is they were running low on some Hello Kitty lip products. As I was walking around, I noticed they had so many ethnic flavor chips!! I had no idea that they carry so many flavors!!!! This store is a decent size inside and the layout is great. The snacks are toward the back of the store. The wines are on the right side close to the checkout. They also have some furniture here as well. I found parking just fine in the Fallbrook plaza this store is located in. 1 star because I always find something I like. Why did I deduct 4 stars?... I paid for my items with my 6 yr old and then asked to use the bathroom and specifically said "my kid would like to use the restroom (at 6:15 pm). The woman said the" bathrooms were being cleaned; I think that Michael's next door has a bathroom." I said, well, would you call and ask because I can't run around looking for a bathroom and I have used this one on another shopping occasion. She reluctantly called and no one answered her call on her headset. Then I asked for the code, she said they don't give it out. Then I said, well can you open it? She said no, I have to stay at the register. At this point, I'm mad because my kid is dancing the pee pee dance. Then I say, well I'll just ask the person in the back. So I go back there and he opens the door for me but was hesitant and told me they were closed at first then made it seem like he wasn't allowed to open the door. My kid used the bathroom, thanks to Ian's kindness. Then I asked for the store manager who didn't seem to want to speak to me. Her name is Jennifer. She proceeded to talk her way into saying they were closed because they just got cleaned and the floors were wet. I said - we just used them and they weren't wet. So she lied to me. Because Ian made it seem like they clean them early and then they don't let customers use them because they close in 45 min. They want to get out of there on time so they don't want to clean the bathrooms after close. All of this back and forth and lying pissed me off. So I returned my items out of principle and I won't be back! I was going to place an order for 6 patio chairs but now I will look else where. Jennifer- you are a liar and poor manager. I love coming to world market around the holidays! Except right before Christmas (I'm talking 5 days out) most of their Christmas merchandise is gone. Guess I was late to the game! My most recent visit I was still able to grab a couple cute ornaments, there just wasn't a lot to choose from. We did some other holiday gift shopping and found a cool puzzle, a grow your own mushroom kit, and a dinosaur Chia pet that were all really cute and unique! World market is really a great place to find a gift for any type of person from foodies to self-care gurus to toy collectors. It's really fun just to walk around the store and explore all of the things that they have. They have a lot of nice home wear items and a great selection of snacks and wine. They also carry furniture frames and pillows. World Market kind of reminds me of a cooler pier one imports. I've learned anything from shopping here, it's if you see something you like, buy it! See, when I was first introduced to World Market in my early twenties, I didn't quite understand or fully appreciate the vast abundance of everything there is to love about this store. Advent calendars in the form of hot sauce bottles and specialty jams? Decorative (paper) crackers for the holidays? Your favorite flavored Japanese lays? Buddha and ramen-shaped post-it notes? I mean, this store has everything if you're looking for a creative way to put together a basket of goods or stocking stuffers. I absolutely love visiting World Market any chance I get to add to my collection of trinkets that I don't ever need but definitely ... well, need, at the same time. The amount of culture from different areas ranging in food and alcohol is mind-blowing and always a treat. It's hard to describe what kind of store World Market is when I'm explaining it to those who haven't heard of it, because it offers a range of wines and beers and other liquor from different places of origin around the world, but it also specializes in some beautiful light fixtures, furniture, hand lotions and soaps, and lots and lots of cards. My most recent favorite items were my Frieda Kahlo pin that I proudly wear on my work badge every day, as well as this adorable lollipop-looking "seed pop pizza" that isn't actually edible, because it contains the seeds for the ultimate pizza ingredients: tomato, basil and fennel. I mean...so adorable and eclectic and simply unique. I also can't forget The Golden Girls magnet set that I got for my mom just because I felt like it; not only was it an adorable gift, but it brought back memories of when we'd watch it on TV together all the time. Have I ever mentioned how much I love world market! The World Market of West Hills definitely keeps up with the quality and care you'd expect at Cost Plus World Market locations. And while the Sherman Oaks and Burbank locations are my standard go to spots... I branched out and did some shopping at the Fallbrook Center which was beyond lit aka super busy with shoppers/patrons! Tis the season! I stopped in for one or two things... Promise... however ended up getting a lot more than expected as you often can and will do at CP WM stores. This was one of the few stores that wasn't packed at the Fallbrook Center, unlike several familiar chains including Michael's Arts & Craft Supply store next door, Target, T.J. Maxx, Sprouts, etc... with massive lines and wait times outside their stores. The line flow here was so quick and efficient... I don't think I waited more than 15 minutes in line give or take one slightly rude customer I politely let dart in front of me who guided me to where the line started... Ma'am I know where the line is I'm in it... And you have an awesome purple top... Happy holidays! Winter shopping drama avoided! The layout of the store is great with a lot of seasonal items you might have your sights set on towards the center of the store as well as near checkout. The West Hills store has incredibly polite and friendly staff. While the sections for most items is top notch I will say they wine and beer area isn't as put together as I would have hope and as great as certain locations. There were even a few familiar wines I did not spy here that I always see at World Market such as wines by Cline Cellars and Honoro Vera. The top rack for popular wines was a little confusing with several duplicates here and there though still very full and stocked. You can always find some excellent snacks and unique food items at World Market... Tried this amazing healthy sloppy joe mix from here this week... And dark chocolate... I definitely miss purchasing some goodies here for the AMC or just on the go. Hoping to give World Market some more of my holiday shopping spree asap and will have to possibly show a little love at the inviting location of West Hills. The curbside pickup is pretty good here and there's plenty of parking nearby as well. Their market doesn't just sell food, they sell clothes, rugs, books, accessories, home decor, furniture, posters, etc. Some items might be pricey but that usually have sales and coupons. I've been here a couple of times in the past month. Medium sized World Market, good selection of interesting furniture, kitchen items (not electronics), international foods, bathroom and home décor. Some kid's stuff too. One of the display couches looked stained though, which was a turn-off. Found a trinket dish and squish toy. Last time I bought some snacks and sauces. Staff was friendly and professional. Helpful when I had questions. Layout is pretty open and easy to navigate. Store is clean and well stocked. They do have a bathroom though I didn't use it (my friend did and had no complaints). read more

I contacted customer service (store isn't close nor was the gifted item) & all I got was the run around. I got a dozen or so emails w/ numerous case #s, then request after request of information that was ALREADY provided. They just don't care to acknowledge the error nor fix it. Also, when I was in store shopping there was an item with the original price listed @ $16.99 & it was tagged with a clearance / discounted price of $29.99. The excuse was customers did this (which makes no sense of why it'd be more!) but it does explain why they aren't proactive to clientele! Stay away from here but if you do shop there, CHECK the expiration dates very closely!! read more

Came here cause the g/f was shopping for Christmas stuff -- and ending up getting some unique and international food items I haven't seen elsewhere such as mustard in tube from Germany, Indian curries in a bag, and German "Rosti" (think potato pancakes). I have only been to the smaller ones in some Bed Bath and Beyonds -- but the food selection here was WAY bigger. Checkout was fast and staff was helpful. It's been so long since I've seen one, it was like being reunited with an old neighborhood friend who moved away and you just so happened to randomly run into them one day at oh let's just say the World Market! Sadly all the World Markets where I use to live at in the Inland Empire have all but closed, so seeing this one brought back fond memories. Everything is just like how we left it! Stepping in here really feels like you're in a different realm. There's a mix of everything here. So many different novelty items to look at. You could easily kill an hour in here just looking at all the items of the world they bring in here. These stores are few and far between to find now, so I really appreciate seeing one and will gladly support it when I can. read more

I know it's the holiday season and everybody is shopping. It must be a real chore to keep a store like this stocked, but it seemed like on this visit everything I was looking for was out of stock (bare shelves) and too many of the sale signed were posted near similar stuff but the sale item was nowhere to be found. If I heard the employee tell someone "if we have it, it would be over there" one more time I'd scream and stomp my feet and have a hissy-fit tantrum. So I set down my basket and quietly left so no innocent bystanders would get embarrassed. Once my favorite store it's become an eclectic mix of stuff, some good some seemingly junk, some with prices and too much without. And way too many emails with "deals". I love Cost Plus! They've moved from their old location on Erwin - they're building that whole "village" mall thing now.. And now they're in the old DSW location - with a "Buy Buy Baby" on top! It's a way larger location and since its brand new it's really clean and seems to be well laid out! If you haven't been to a Cost Plus ever, (really?!) they're great! They have lots of artisan and international foodstuffs, teas, coffees and more that you can't find in most places! Especially candies! Like those Kinder candies! They've also got lots of unique home goods that are pretty inexpensive and pretty good quality. They have a very large selection of bath supplies (soap galore!) and lots of more lighting than the other location! I also think the furniture is more well laid out and really just more visually appealing! Everything is broken up into sections but still wonderfully styled! They still have a ton of food and everything is just so well organized! Lots of soda pops too on this adventure! The only thing I didn't see was the scarf section that used to be in the other location - I wasn't a fan of them anyway - but if you are.. I'm not sure if they carry them here (or just not yet!) I still think the one in Simi is the largest one around - but this one is way bigger and more modern than the previous one! read more

Second time I've come here and they were closed for no reason. Just wasted $5 on an Uber and all of my joy for the night expecting them to be open at their stated time. My experience in this store was horrible! The manager Jef has no customer service skills and he is very rude. I had a return and they asked me to enter my card 6 times to get my credit. The cashier needed help called the jef and the manager stayed in the back store until I asked to see his manager. When he came to the front that didn't help anything! He's just poor management.
