The rooms were set in a way that gave a man space to stretch, to feel unpenned, and the streets around were good for walking. You could reach Public's on foot and sit down to a fine meal at places like The Detroit Cowboy, ML Rose and other eatery's without much trouble. Most of the staff were kind and worked with a willing spirit, though there were one or two whose hearts weren't in it and whose jobs belonged better to others. But here is where the story turns in my my opinion: Hilton, or some unscrupulous bean counter, has turned its face from the law of the land and the dignity of its people. The ADA standards of 2010, written to give access and fairness, seem to have been twisted thin. The standard ADA rooms were all sold out. This left only the large, costly suites to meet the needs of the mobility challenged, as though access were a luxury item to be sold instead of a right to be honored. They bind together the blind, the deaf, and the non-ambulatory in the same spaces, as though one person's need could be the same as another's. It is not so. And then breakfast--laid out high and proud on counters and chafing dishes, built for standing men, not for those in chairs. My son, bound to his wheels, could not see what was offered, could not take part in the same way as the rest. And that is the small insult that cuts deepest--not the food itself, but the reminder that he was not thought of. Hilton, you can do better. And the truth is, you must.

We LOVED the beautiful historic church building with both modern furnishings, artistic decor and ultimate comfort renovations as well as preserved church remnants (stain glass windows, pews converted to bed headboard/side tables and original ceiling wooden beams). The facility was immaculate with so many special amenities (free lobby coffee/tea bar, luggage lockers for early arrival, fun photo booth, a sound recording room with equipment, ample reading material, free snacks and water in room, plush robes and a spacious bathroom with HUGE shower and abundant hot water). The one slight exception was an oddly aggressive crow that is nesting down the street, but that easily forgiven and it made the trip all the more memorable. The conversion from a church to a hotel was done well and our room was most enjoyable. However, we were very careful to get a room with windows! We encourage all future guests to read individual room descriptions carefully. There's no way we would stay in a room without at least one window.

We stayed 3 nights and given the cost was 293+ tax the first night 393+ tax and 493+ tax for the Friday night, they are really taken advantage of people coming to Nashville. I am a Platinum Marriott Member and Gold Hilton Member and usually stay there. The first room we were given was on the lowest floor overlooking their rooftop with air conditioners. I was able to change it for a 19th floor room with a city view. Back to breakfast....All 3 days was scrambled eggs, sausage patties, square potatoes, biscuits and gravy. They had a large grill but were not doing omelets. They did them in the past. You could make a waffle using the same units at all hotels like Hampton and Holiday Inn Express. Higher end hotels will make them for you. They had apples, bananas and oranges. The bowl of fruit (matched the hampton's) but there's was wilted and soggy (cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple and grapes). Last day they had non. Milk was out of a machine and yogurt was 1 flavor along with hardboiled eggs. They did have pancakes off to the side by the grill and cheese you could add to your eggs. The "fantastic" sitback and enjoy spread was a joke. 1 night pseudo chicken alfredo. Another night horrible pork bbq and tacos the last. All nights had baked potatoes and chips with salsa. My wife was shocked at how downhill it went. You were given 3 bar tickets per person. They now limited you to 5 specialty drinks (1 being Margarita, 1 cherry flavoring with vodka and sprite with sour mix ) or regular water downed drinks The only positive was you could get fountain pop all day. From 4 to 8pm they popped popcorn in the lobby. I had to remind them 1 day. The fitness center was nice but the pool didn't open until 9AM. I wanted to do at 830 before heading out. I am on eastern time while they are on central time. There is no restaurants in the hotel. I don't count the bar with limited options for food. See my pictures for the menu. The rooms are very basic. They were clean. I had to chase the cleaning staff each day for more towels and even toilet paper! The hotel has no concierge. Parking is $42 a night for self-park. The location is very convenient but so are several other hotels.

I planned to order in and watch tv in the cozy bed. When I arrived, the property was experiencing a Comcast outage so no internet or tv. After checking out the super cute room and taking a bubble bath, I nixed my take out plan and found some dinner nearby. When I returned and texted the concierge for an update on the service, they were extremely apologetic and reported the service would not be remedied during my stay. She offered me a partial refund and to rebook me for the night at the sister property, The Russell. I happily took the offer and enjoyed my night stay in the penthouse!! I was so blown away by this gesture, completely above and beyond what I expected. I will definitely be back and recommend to all my friends!! Both properties were thoughtfully appointed, spotless, and included a complimentary snack box!

I enjoyed the free parking and it was very easy to find ride shares downtown to all that Nashville has to offer! We had a great view from our room on the 6th floor of the skyline. We did not do the breakfast that you can choose to but keep in mind it is not free. We opted to try one of the local Nashville eateries that we cannot get back home. We did not get to enjoy it for such a short stay but definitely will plan to stay here again for a kid-free trip back to the city!

They had valet parking, which is fine considering it's downtown even though it's $65. As I said, I've been to many hotels, but this is one of the steeper ones for valet prices. Only Atlanta was more at the Hilton state that was $75 a night. Anyway, our room was completely outdated. The air conditioning was poor to almost nonexistent. It was so muggy in that room. Hence, with another comments about the mold I'm not surprised there was a mold in this room as well. It was a basic room nothing special. Beinga "silver" Member we both could drink our three dollar waters for nothing. So ridiculous. So when I stay there again, absolutely not. I think generally speaking a lot of the Hilton associated hotels like Doubletree and the others that attach Hilton to their name are lacking in comfort and cleanliness. So I guess if you wanna spend $300 in a mediocre/ outdated potential mold room Doubletree/Hilton hotel in Nashville - go for it. But there's a Marriott down the street and the hotel indigo. Maybe you should be checked out them first.
