Urban Cowboy is one of my favorite go-tos on a nice sunny day. The pizza is solid, however overpriced and typically takes a while. It's a good pizza, more of a personal size. I recently tried the cucumber salad and am now obsessed. I hope this is not a seasonal item. The inside is a wine bar with plenty of options to choose from. Even if you aren't getting wine or one of the batched cocktails in side I still recommend walking through. The vibes are high and the interior design is gorgeous. The outside had plentiful seating. If you're lucky, you might get a seat around a real wood fireplace. If I could suggest one thing to Urban Cowboy it would be to provide blankest to those sitting outside without the fire place. I believe they do have blankets set out but I was unsure if I could take them so I just left them on the chair. I think it would be better to have an area with a sign saying "blankets for guests" or something along the lines. I always get a dirty martini at Urabn Cowboy. Its crisp yet dirty and always hits the spot. Another good option here is a aperol spritz. Theres always a line at the bar. I've talked to the bartenders and he confirmed you DO NOT have to line up in a single file line but it always happens. You can walk up like a normal bar and order!! read more

I'd wanted to visit Urban Cowboy for years after following their journey of remodeling on Instagram, and my recent trip to Nashville finally gave me the opportunity! Located in East Nashville away from the widespread tourist traps of Broadway, the bed and breakfast is in a cooler, mostly residential neighborhood, and it has its own "public house" separate from the main house but connected by a popular yard with lots of seating. The night we went was warm, and there were plenty of people in the pub, but the loud rap music playing over the speakers didn't seem to fit the vibe of the thoughtful interior design at all to me. I should note I would feel the same if they were blasting the same country top 40 as the spots on Broad or regular top 40, and I know, to some, it's a petty thing, and the staff probably play what they want, but as far as ambiance goes, that was the only negative thing I remember feeling at the time, and because it was audio, it was inescapable. If the music had been a bit lower or had been instrumental, I think it would have been a more immersive experience. We got nice drinks in the parlor bar and enjoyed the music room, and the visual aspect was lovely. I wished I'd had more time to spend there. Perhaps there'll be a "next time." read more

First visit. I came to see the space for an upcoming meetup and I left with high expectations! The combination of boutique hotels/ bed and breakfast leaves you wanting to know more of the history of the home. I entered off 16th on the side of the building which leads to the Public House this is the full service bar. At 7pm it was already starting to fill up. I made my way upstairs to the wine bar where there was live music playing and a soft beautiful atmosphere, comfortable and warm. It's a cozy place to read or have an intimate conversation. I stayed at Urban Cowboy for two nights in the main house - The victorian Suite. I was with three other colleagues so I also got to see their rooms too. This place is amazing! They did a fantastic job with the renovation of this very old house. You miss ALMOST nothing staying here as they think of everything to make you comfortable. They have a great bar next door that's open late! That takes me to the issue. We were working early and there was only instant coffee in the area outside of the rooms. They found the world's best instant coffee but still. I need coffee in the morning. They do provide glass's of water and plenty of water and a decent continental breakfast though we did not eat it. We all really enjoyed our rooms, they were very comfortable, they have sound machines they have a real shower in all the rooms, great bedding. BUT not a great coffee situation for early birds. read more

Such a cool place! My mom and I were in town for a mother/daughter trip and I added this to our list because she's also a BnB owner. It's a beautiful Victorian perched on a corner in a mostly residential seeming neighborhood. I just thought there was a bar on the first floor, we'd do a walk-through and head to the next place. Now there is a bar on the first floor...a very nice one. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find another bar in the rear of the property. It's actually larger than the one inside and adjacent to a pizza joint that's connected to the property. It was a bit cool but all the perfectly placed fire pits and booze from the delicious cocktails helped ward off any draft. We had such a good time drinking and chatting with strangers that now my mom wants this atmosphere in her backyard. Lovely and fun concept. Maybe next time, I'll just stay here. read more

I love the hipster vibe of urban cowboy and it's set up. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor seating is really where it's at. They have severs fire pits that they keep going through the evening and it's built inside a metal cage so the logs don't fall out on you. It's really nice. They have string lights set up and they have blankets on the backs of the chairs for you to use. Their cocktails are solid and I love that the pizza place has taken up permanent residence there now. Their wood-fired pizzas are the perfect pairing for the cocktails at the bar. Heads up, urban cowboy is the hotel and the bar is next to it. You walk in in between the pizza place (on the right) and what looks like nothing on the left. It's confusing if you haven't been there before. read more

I rarely ever post a negative review of my accommodations but after much reflection i have decided to give my honest opinion for the benefit of future guests at Urban Cowboy. Our room had 3 beds as advertised- two were on the floor - and very difficult to access for someone with a sleep apnea machine, glasses, and a night guard. Also there were almost no blinds preventing the sun from lighting up our room at 5:40am every morning and when we asked the staff if they could help us we were told that other rooms did have blinds - and they ignored our complaints completely. We also requested room service on Day 2 of a 3-day stay and someone came and made up one of the 3 beds, and left a tray with one new bottle of water. The other 2 beds were untouched, the garbage can was left full, the bathroom sink and shower were untouched, and the towels were replaced. I have stayed in many hotels, inns and B&Bs around the world for a fraction of $750 US per night and received significantly better response to my requests for room service than was provided by the Urban Cowboy. My opinion is based on the complete lack of attention to detail in attending to our requests for room service. I think that the owners need to seriously consider their value for investment and begin providing the kind of service that customers deserve for a $750 investment. I cannot recommend the Urban Cowboy to anyone staying in Nashville- they need to realize that attention to detail is expected by guests and deliver a significantly better level of service in order to compete in today's hospitality industry. read more

$750 a night for a single room with 2 beds on the floor, one of which faced the street and didn't even have a window shade--glaring streetlight all night, and the sun coming through at 5:40am. I asked for the sheets to be changed on one bed--the other 2 were left unmade and the garbage pail wasn't emptied. "Coffee service" at bottom of steps was a bowl of instant coffee packets (when it wasn't empty, which was most of the time.) Management describes this facility as "special, exclusive, and independently operated." I call it a ripoff. read more

LOL so hard at the reviewer who called this 'glamping' STFU Laura, you're tripping over your privilege. Anyway. We stayed here in October and absolutely loved it. Pendleton towels. Bathtub on the outside of the bathroom. Drinks basically whenever you want. We had wine on the wraparound patio out front in lovely rocking chairs during a light rain. The staff was lovely and very accommodating (even when i blew their electricity out because it takes so long to blow dry my hair). We slept in a different bed each night. I found this place through a Nashville blogger and when I saw the photos I knew this was where I needed to stay. I replied to the email confirmation about a month before my stay and no one ever responded...then the day before my arrival I received a text asking me for the same information I had emailed. In the confirmation email, they include a menu for in-room massage services but there are no instructions on how to actually book the services and with no response to the email I sent asking how to book I was left massage-less on this visit. Upon checking in Camille greeted me, offered to help with all my bags and then showed me around. Once I was sorted out, she told me to come down for my complimentary whiskey (yes, please). Not to worry, if whiskey isn't your thing, you can have something else. The room: I stayed in the Watchtower. It was exactly like the photos I had seen except it was much darker than I expected. The bed was comfy. I had mostly what I needed...they do not have an iron which I thought was odd. I was told I could use the one they had but they needed to be with me when I use it. Ummm, I'll just be wrinkled, thanks. It was unseasonably cold during my stay. My room felt 20 degrees colder than downstairs. There is an A.C. unit in the window, removing it or at least sealing around it could have helped. I asked for an extra blanket and I was given a bathrobe. There was an envelope for tips for the cowgirls who clean the room. No one cleaned my room but me during my stay. I guess I assumed they would pop in during the day to empty the trash and see if I needed any toiletries or fresh towels or anything. Nope. The bar: The staff was super friendly. The bartenders gave me lots of recommendations for places to go and eat off the beaten path. The drinks were on point and they'll charge them to your room which is very convenient. The parlor bar is a hipster paradise. Not gonna lie, I felt very out of place...I'm not a hipster, I am not in my 20's and I can't wax poetic for hours about all the bars I've helped open across the country (literally what I overheard for 3 nights). I came as a stranger and left as one as well but that's ok. The breakfast: It was described as an elevated continental breakfast when I arrived. It was exactly that. Assorted pastries, yogurt, tea, etc. There were no labels I wasn't sure what was what and there was no one around to ask so I skipped it and went out for breakfast. The neighbourhood: East Nashville is a residential architecture dream if you're into that (all of Nashville is actually). Lots of cute coffee shops and places to eat. Right across the street are 2 restaurants. I rented a car...it took me less than 10 mins to drive into downtown Nashville. The verdict: Urban Cowboy is a very thoughtfully decorated place to stay in a great neighbourhood. In some ways I think they chose design over function but the place is cute. Would I stay here again? Maybe. For the same cost I could have stayed at a guest house or hotel with more amenities. I enjoyed my stay and do recommend this place. We stayed in "The Cabin."(I wish we had not) Pros: Friendly staff The room is amazing (for pictures) The beds are fantastic. Cons: Parking is horrible! And you're competing with people from the restaurant. If you came here to sleep.... You're in the wrong place! More like a frat house with music blaring and people right outside your door until 11pm. Did I mention lack of sleep? If the music isn't a problem, the loud trash cans outside your room that the restaurant staff just toss around until midnight will help. No WiFi: again you are competing with people at the restaurant and you have a wall and lack of bandwidth to deal with. OVERRATED: So, if you are an Uber hipster that wants to spend $500+ on a room for your social media that will bring you back to your awkward college days... this is the place for you. Skimpy on amenities; two towels, one bath mat and no extra offerings like robes or slippers (or in our case a shower). The bathtub was lovely though. This place is very cool. First of all, they make incredible cocktails. From the classics to new twists on old favorites. We have been previously for dinner and the food was great. This was our first brunch trip, and while the food was good, it was not as good as the dinner fare. The standout for everyone was the tomato sandwich. The combination of perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes with a dill aioli and perfect bun embodied the concept "simplicity is best." Our party ordered two more after having the first one as an appetizer. The avocado toast was bright and flavorful with perfectly charred grilled bread. The country ham breakfast with eggs was also very good. The ham was super salty and served with a home made English muffin and two eggs. Delightful. The weakest dish we had was the pork and blueberries. The pork was cooked well though very fatty. The blueberries were simply served on top of the pork with fresh greens. The blueberries would have been much more successful as a part of a gastrique or sauce. All in all it was a nice experience. I would recommend it for a cocktail forward light brunch. read more

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this place. It's decorated very uniquely and the staff is very nice. Plus, they have a room full of mostly tuned instruments that they encourage guests to play. The only thing is that you're kind of roughing it when you stay here. It's basically indoor glamping. 5 stars for cool factor, but 5-star lodging it is not. I guess I didn't take the title of B&B seriously enough. We stayed in the Watchtower, which was very, very cool. Who doesn't want to sleep in a bed that fills a nook, especially one so well-decorated. However, there is only a bathtub (it was actually pretty great, though), the bathroom is dark and tiny with a teeny tiny mirror, the drawers were more or less unusable, and of course no maid service - not super clean and nobody made the bed. Also, bugs. All those things on their own are totally excusable were it not an outrageously expensive room. This is NOT for high maintenance types. But would I stay here again? I wanna say no, but it's so dang hip it would be hard to resist. read more

This place is everything you want it to be. First - it's gorgeous. Second - the location is really close to a bunch of stuff. It's across the street from an awesome restaurant, but if you just want drinks, you don't even need to leave the lobby. The people make the experience though. We just went in for drinks and Chelsey (manager I think) hooked up our crew as if we were family. Told us where to go, when to go, and what to avoid. The bartender, Mac, is basically everything you want in a bartender: good conversationalist if you want to sit and chat, but also knows when you want to be left alone. He also makes a mean cocktail. I never ordered from the menu, just had him make me whatever he was feelin' and I was never disappointed. I left wishing I would have stayed here. I will be back soon though! read more

As a gen-eX-er, I can totally relate to the Millennial urge to go low-Fi. The Urban Cowboy manages to combine modern design with the best of Lo-Fi with grace and finesse. We just spent 2 nights at UC Nashville and there are so many cool things about this place, it's almost too hard to quantify with a star-rating. It truly does feel like a place where you can just chill out in the communal spaces and chat with the other guests or Chelsea and Max, the extremely accommodating managers. There is a music room that serves as both lobby and common space. You just may get a chance to see some local musicians jam out as another reviewer boasts. Or you could also just chill on the floor and eat a slice of 'Za from the pizza place across the street as we saw people doing during our stay. The decor is really amazing. We enjoyed the bed and pillows so much we had to get the name of the make so we could order the pillows for home. They are each so unique, I hemmed and hawed about which room to stay in, ultimately landing on the "Midnight Rider" after sending my husband photo snippets of each available room and not telling him what he was picking. The bed was super comfortable and oh, that faux fur duvet. The first thing I did was take a bath in the huge claw foot which was amazing. We were well taken care of by Chelsea and Max. Chelsea was super good about communication, and chatted with us while the final preparations to our room were completed. I have a bone to pick with the other reviewer who complained about the breakfast. What's not to love about plump fresh berries, yogurts, granolas, French Press coffee, and a variety of local and delicious pastries? Plus I hear there are plans for a kitchen and food truck coming soon (yay!). As I said before, I hate to quantify things with a star-rating for a place that is so unique it defies numerics. That being said, there were some quirks that we thought could be improved, specifically about our room. There was no bedside table on the right hand side of the bed, which I was unable to acclimate myself to; no matter, I remedied the problem by snagging one of the metal hairpin tables from the porch (hope you didn't mind, C&M). I would also have loved to have a fridge in the room. There has to be a way to add a dorm fridge without compromising the decor. Add cool wood paneling or cupboards to match the decor somehow. One final thing we wondered about - and I hesitate to even say this because it's a nuanced sort of thing, was that we figured we *barely* met the cool threshold to be guests (and hey, I think we're pretty cool). I had to wonder if my parents would have felt comfortable if they strolled in. I'm sure Chelsea and Max would do everything to make them feel comfortable, but the vibe is very very cool so I'm not sure it would feel "accessible" to everyone. But hey, maybe that's sort of the point! After all, exclusivity does have its place. Any way you slice or dice it, the UC Nashville is an extremely unique place and you'll definitely have something to write home about. Besides, Win Butler just might be staying in the room next door. read more

One of my most vivid and special vacation memories will forever be due to Urban Cowboy. On the first vacation my boyfriend and I took together to North Carolina, I told him it had been forever since I had visited Nashville (one of my favorite cities). We knew it was a bit of a drive, but if we found somewhere cool to stay, we figured we could just spend the evening in town as well. After lots of walking, shopping, eating, and drinking, we quite literally stumbled upon Urban Cowboy. Both of us are suckers for Victorian-era homes, and we knew that we had to find out what it was all about. We were so fortunate in that we were able to walk right in and get the last available room. It's pricier (around $300 for the night), but it was so charming and full of such gorgeous antique furniture (plus a huge clawfoot bathtub in each room!?!?) that we decided to stay. First of all, the rooms are beautiful. If you look at their website, you can see each one individually. We got the "Midnight Rider" room, but to be honest, they're all gorgeous so it wouldn't have mattered regardless. Very clean, spacious, comfortable bed. Keep in mind that any snacks/drinks laid out in your room are added to your bill if you eat/drink them and are not complimentary. Out back is their "Public House" bar and restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious, and the place was packed. I can definitely see why! It was neat to be able to have some fun there and then literally walk next door and go to our room. What really was my favorite and most memorable part of my stay was the music room. Urban Cowboy has a room of all instruments, and those that can play are encouraged to do so. I played piano for a very long time and during a stressful time in life, had to sell my piano. I hadn't played in years. Being able to sit at this gorgeous, old, red piano and play to my heart's content in this amazing house was the highlight of my trip. Urban Cowboy really seems like it was put together with an immaculate attention to detail and a whole lot of love. I hope to be able to come back and stay for more than just an evening. read more

Such beautiful decor- unique layout and awesome drinks! Bartenders were amazing and also sort of kick-ass? There was a group of three dudes and one girl (with two other drunk dudes popping in and out) at the bar being suuuuper aggressive toward the bartender (who was being civil despite the absurdity) and she ended up kicking them out because they kept messing with the displays in the various rooms after she asked them not to. This review is basically a preemptive strike in case those ding dongs leave a nasty review for her :) p.s. they were literally yelling about boobs (new to them, I guess?) and also threw their drinks all over the vintage furniture after refusing to leave for several minutes! I am obsessed and can't wait to stay here again! We came here for my boyfriends birthday and it was the coolest place and probably our new favorite staycation hideout. Same owners as the Dive motel which we also adore. The staff was all great and made us feel well taken care of before/during/after our stay. The decor and vibe here is amazing, we loved that there were little hidden features everywhere we looked. The owner greeted us with a welcome cocktail and gave us the key to our beautiful, artsy room, furnished with the most comfortable bedding ever. The claw foot tub and varieties of bubbles or bath salts made it the perfect place to relax. We were in love with the music room! Next door we were able to meet friends for drinks which was super convenient. read more

I'm pretty much obsessed with this place. I ended up here on a last-minute New Year's Adventure and it was the most amazing experience! Everything is impeccable. The rooms are gorgeous and unique. I stayed in the Lion's Den, which was perfect for our group, but the other rooms that I saw were equally gorgeous!!! The owners and staff are so accommodating and treat guests like family. The food was amazing. (Thank you to Matthew & Jetski for making the best breakfasts!) I can't say enough good things about Urban Cowboy. I will definitely be back for another visit soon! read more
