I spent over a month researching and trying to find the right doctor to treat my gynecomastia. After narrowing it down, I chose Dr. Steven Bates at Reveal Plastic Surgery because everything I saw gave me confidence. My consultation went well, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I understood that things happen and didn't think much of it. My second follow-up appointment was also rescheduled. Again, I tried to be patient. The final follow-up was scheduled a full month in advance for December 29 2025. I never received a call or text to cancel or reschedule. I showed up to the office only to be told by the receptionist that the doctor was not in that day. No one had notified me. As a patient who trusted this practice and invested my hard-earned money, that moment felt incredibly discouraging. Aftercare is just as important as the surgery itself. When communication stops and follow-ups fall through, it makes you feel unvalued and forgotten. What concerns me even more is that since December, neither the front desk nor the doctor has reached out to reschedule or offer an apology. This is an update. 3 months past my fat transfer, I noticed a divot in my left face. During my second follow up with Dr. Bates, he said that he would have his staff look into Renuva for me so that I didn't have to do another lipo which was very painful to fill up the divot. If they can't get Renuva (they don't carry this product) then I could go back for a second smaller fat transfer for the divot. I called the office and spoke to the office manager to get an estimate on a secondary follow-up fat transfer and also on the status of their office getting Renuva but haven't heard back for weeks. I feel like the office is disorganized and unresponsive (they were better about the original surgery but I get a sense that they don't care about repeat business). I made an appointment to see a Beverly Hills surgeon (Dr. Edwin Kwon from Real Self) who will use Renuva on the divot. Hopefully that will fix the problem. read more

This is a late post for my three procedures in December 2023 and another one a few months after. On February 26, I had my rhinoplasty surgery done at Reveal Plastic Surgery with Dr. Steven Bates, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. So far, so good! Today is post-surgery day 2 for an upper lid blepharoplasty. The day of surgery went well. The nurses and Dr. Bates were all very nice and professional and worked hard to make you feel comfortable. I'm looking pretty beat up but I have next-to-no pain and I'm not taking the heavy narcotics, only Advil for swelling and Tylenol if needed. Absolutely ruined my breasts, told Dr. Bates I plan to hit my target weight of 120 pounds when I was 180 at the time of my procedure. He said it would be fine and went ahead with my breast reduction operation. He removed too much skin, leading me to have saggy loose breasts after I lost the weight, post operation. Three years later and i'm about to get my third breast revision operation, was forced to get implants from the excess skin loss, the scaring is excessive and uneven, and i've permanently lost feeling in both of my breasts. I was told by Dr. Bates to wait a year before evaluating post operation satisfaction, when I spoke to Dr. Bates about my concerns by the year checkup appointment, he said I would need implants. Then I was directed to the finance department who stated they refused to do a breast reduction/revision at even a discounted rate, due to my choice of losing weight post operation, WHICH DR.
