This time I just went for an oil change and after the oil change Mr. Jeremy said the oil change was "free" because it was Christmas. But they recommended that I replace the engine motor mounts, I return the next day for those repairs. I was able to wait in the lobby until my car was repaired, they took their time and made sure everything was fixed completely. They offered an affordable fair price and they are very honest, trustworthy and professional. I highly recommend them for any of your car repair services. 10 stars!!!!

They also said my alternator was dead, & referred me to Allen's to get it fixed. I went up to Allen's All Around Auto Repair, & Allen immediately ran some tests on my car, & told me it was the starter that was dead, not the alternator. He told me to come by in the morning between 8-9, & he'd have it done by 4:30-5pm. So, I went to Auto Zone & bought a starter for around $200, & took it & my car up to Allen's the next morning. They didn't call me when it was done, so I just went up there around 4:30. Everything was finished & ready to go. I walked out the door for about $240. But I got $40 back for the core price of the starter, when I took it back to Auto Zone. So altogether, the starter cost about $400. Not great, but not too bad either. All around, Allen's All Around Auto Repair did me right, & got me back up & running smoothly & quickly. I appreciate it very much. I would recommend this place. I may take my car back up there & ask him if he can replace my usb chord next. It's a bummer that others didn't have good experiences here, bc I did.

Filled out a piece of paper that has all your info and what is wrong with your vehicle. A older gentleman came up and we started talking. I told him my transmission hits hard in first and second. Kind of slips out of third If you drive it very easy. I said if you drive it with a little pick up and go it shifts perfect. He said they will have to look at it. And a lady just had her vehicle towed in so it would be awhile. He said about 2 hours I said that's fine. About 30 minutes went by the other guy that's works there came out started talking to the lady about her vehicle. He was very rude. Right off the bat told her she needed to get a uber. Said he's not sure what's wrong with her vehicle said it shouldn't be the fuel pump but he wasn't sure. He said I can't get to it today whatever is wrong with it. Just kept telling her she needed a ride. Just kept repeating himself. I looked at the lady and you can tell she was getting upset the tone he was using with her. He walked away I said to the lady he sounds like he being rude she said I know. He's being very rude. I am looking at my phone. He said why are you here? Not sure if he was talking to me or not. He said hey. Sir. I said I'm here for someone to look at my transmission. He said I'm the transmission guy. I said what was wrong with the transmission. He just said that's internal. What else do you want. I said the other guy said I needed to get a quote. About 5 minutes later he goes. Hey. Here you go. Hands me a piece of paper with a rebuild transmission for 5,300. I said you didn't even drive the vehicle or look at it. He said well I can that will be 140. I said I don't know if you're having a bad or not. He stops me and says I don't know why your being an a_ _ hole. I said wow that's how you talk to customers. I look at the other gentleman and I said that's ok with you him talking to customers that way. Dude didn't say a work. The other guy said I'm the owner. I said wow it's amazing you're in business talking to people like this. He then told me to leave. Please avoid this place. Sad people like this are in business when other people deserve it way more than that guy.

I would not recommend Ahren's-- especially to university students-- based off of my experience with…read moretheir team and their extreme upcharging of parts. Their pricing is not honest at all. I took my car in with serpentine belt issues. For my make and model, this part generally costs $30-$50. Ahren's priced this part at $80. Their diagnostic examine also found belt tensioner issues. For the serpentine and belt tensioner replacement combined, they quoted me $512 of repairs. This is extremely high and gives me the inclination that this is another mechanic in town that is trying to take advantage of college students who are not as informed on car repairs. I do not think the presented quote is fair by any means so thanked them and let them know I would not be having service done their. I was presented with an $85 fee for a half-hour diagnostic look. This fee was not disclosed beforehand at all, was not mentioned verbally, and I did not sign anything agreeing to this fee. Take your car elsewhere. I took my vehicle here just out of convenience of location, but have previously had much better service at the Firestone off of Archer and with Billy's Auto Repair & Towing. UPDATE: I went in to pick up my car and wish I could leave a negative review. If you take your car here and leave without even having any work done, you will be charged an $85 minimum. I asked why I wasn't informed of this in anyway (no signatures, no verbal inform) beforehand and the woman working the front desk had the owner come out. He raised his voice and started asking why I hadn't taken my car to Billy's or somewhere else. In his rant he referenced other reviews that I have left on Gainesville for miscellaneous places which was unsettling. He lied and said he listened to my phone conversation, saying that I was informed of all fees beforehand-- I certainly was not and he wouldn't play the recording. I have lived in Gainesville for many years and can say assuredly that this is one of the shadier places in town. They use deceptive business practices and their prices are anything but honest.
