Tickets are pricey just like everyone else in the world right now. Nothing to do with the venue. Though I think it's slowly killing the industry. I'm a relic. I remember playing at the silo and going to shows there. I haven't been to a show in Reading since the Silo days. I was pleasantly surprised that this place has been open for sometime. It's pretty clean and looks well maintained. Good sound if you aren't smack dab in the middle. Friendly staff from parking attendants to bar tenders! parking is only $10. Seemed like a good bit of parking too. My friend was kicked out a few mi the ago for doing backflips at GWAR but he didn't experience anything like that this time. read more

My first time at this venue and I was honestly really pleasantly surprised with how nice it was! There was ample free parking, although online it does say sometimes they charge. The venue must have somewhat recently been updated as my boyfriend said the layout was different then when he was last there. We went for a metal show and the doors opened promptly. The staff was nice, they did have someone checking bags, keys, pockets and doing a pat down at the door. Once inside our tickets got scanned and ids checked if we wanted to drink. We were given a wrist band for that. The bar was in the back and they did have a room off to the side that appeared to be like a snack bar. They had a smoking section out back since there was no re-entry. The sound and lights were great. Overall it was a good show and a nice venue. I'd go again. It was in the middle of Reading but not a super congested area, mostly residential. read more

We love coming here for a show! It's closer than driving out to Philly, parking is close, easy and affordable, and the venue is small enough to feel intimate but doesn't feel cramped. It's easy to get drinks at the bar, and there really isn't a "bad" place to stand. Only removed one star because the ladies room is a bit of an adventure (each stall has its own challenge), which seemed to be well known by venue regulars suggesting it's been that way (first one seats broken, second ones good, third the door won't close). I went here for the first time, the security was distracted and not actively watching or doing their jobs too busy talking to each other. My friends tried to go up to the front and got attacked by some other dude saying he can't got up there. I broke up the fight and got I. The middle just to have me and my friends kicked out after driving 2 hours and being attacked. Its otterly ridiculous totally not worth it the bartenders fail to track drunks, and the security failed to do their jobs they kicked out 5 people over 1 drunkin entitled person. Put it this way. If it is a band you are dying to see, yes...go. Otherwise, choose another venue. They will charge you $10 to park in their large lot for the high attended shows and pack you in. Plenty of street parking, so I turned right around instead of giving them another dime. Lots of security walking around, but no other staff working the room, so the bathrooms will be nasty, overflowing with trash, paper towels just laying on the counter soaking wet, soap literally in a large jug that you have to pickup and squeeze to get some. Space is huge and some high top tables scattered with large leather couches along the perimeter. That is the only plus. Sound system needs to be worked on. Very little areas to hear quality sound and frustrated musicians should not have to deal with mediocrity. There are way better venues all over the state. Avoid if you demand perfection or have any sort of expectations for a place to make you feel welcome. read more

We went to see Brett Michaels and was never in Reverb but my birthday present to myself was to go and see. Had an awesome time. Everyone behind the bar was super friendly. Of course drinks would be more and very worth it. You pay to park but the parking lot is very well lighted which I felt good about. All in all I hope there's another band or singer I want to see cause I will absolutely go again. BTW they don't tolerate if you want to drink and get ab noxious cause people were escorted out way before any band was on stage so be adults and don't be stupid. This place is no longer a dump. New Bar, pool tables, great for place for bands. However, the place is etremely pricey for drinks, and they pat you down upon entering. My first impression was great as I realized the interior had been cleaned up. However this place is over priced for locals. The venues advertise big names tribute bands, but the sound system is off with the acoustics of the building. The entire place is under surveillance, especially outside in the parking lot. If you leave to smoke, they are watching. My friends who smoke felt uncomfortable with that. Limited seating, and for the venue I attended the crowd didn't seem to be enthused or enjoying the bands. Recently went to Reverb for the first time to see a metal show. This club has a lot of potential for big shows - it's huge inside, nice big square bar in the middle, actual booths, merch area. I hope they can keep it going because it's a pretty sweet space for an out-of-the-way area. The layout was a little weird because the show was all ages so they were doing the "segregate people who are not drinking age in a little bullpen over to the side" thing that I've seen at other PA venues. Sucks for them, but if you're over 21, not a problem. Aside from the fact that the female bartender was too busy chatting up some guy for 10 minutes to get me a beer, I had a good time and will probably be back. The neighborhood around the place does not look great, but I wasn't too fazed because (a) the place has its own humongous and fairly well-lit parking lot, so you don't have to go parking on the street or worse yet, a side street, and (b) the night I was there, one or two large male club employees were sitting outside the door all night, which would tend to ward off any hassles that might otherwise happen in the parking lot. Also, to be honest, if you have spent time in Philadelphia or DC like I have, Reading just doesn't look that bad. Don't do anything stupid like walk around the 'hood and you should be just fine. read more

Attended a concert at Reverb on 12 Jan 15. The concert was billed to start at 8pm. Unfortunately I arrived late, at about 7:55. There were entrance lines wrapping through the parking lot. I've been to a lot of concert venues and I've never seen them with lines outside when the show starts. I suppose it could have been a deluge of late arriving fans, but I think not. The parking lot was tiny and full, when I asked the staff member working the lot where he suggested to park he had no suggestions at all. If you're billing an act that's drawing that kind of crowd, perhaps you should know where local garages are. Once inside we faced the worst venue I've ever been to. It's basically a ware house. There's no lobby. There's no coat check. The artists' (there were three acts performing) merchandise booths were on the concert floor. The vendors were on the concert floor. There seemed to be an excessive amount of security-patron interaction. I've seen two of the three bands playing before (one of them countless times) and regularly go to see this genre. I've never seen this sort of security engagement. Maybe the fans were unusually out of line, or maybe the security staff was? I don't know. The band I was there for in particular performed first and started their meet-and-greet. After just a few minutes, the Reverb Staff told them they could not do it while the other bands were performing? I've NEVER seen anything like this before. I can only surmise it was due to the horrible physical layout that had the meet-and-greet line winding across the concert floor and blocking an exit/entrance. In the end, crappy venue with crappy staff and high priced beer. read more

Nice big parking lot. Purses were checked & everyone was frisked going in. Smoking is not permitted inside. Interior is very large but needs more than 2 bar stools per table. We like it loud but sound system was distorted & blaring. We couldn't understand what the bands were saying & there was a lot of feedback when they stopped playing. Women's restrooms were gross. No paper towel holders so the roll was sitting on a wet counter & wet from tearing it w/wet hands. No soap dispensers so you had to pick up the dirty soap bottle. 1 stall was out of service & another was missing a seat. Trash was overflowing. Sinks/ counters/mirrors were old & nasty. Restrooms were painted all black making it dull & dingy--couldn't see yourself in the mirror. Men's restroom didn't have dividers between urinals. Venue could be a nice place with a few upgrades. Probably won't return. . . read more

Great place to see a show. I've performed here and seen many shows here. They book national acts and local acts. Everything from rap and Latin, to death metal. Food is available for stadium prices and booze is averaged priced for a nightclub. Depending on the night this place can be packed or dead. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I've attended a couple of shows at Reverb now and I have to tell you... it... is... awesome! If you love live music this is THE place to see it. From local bands ( 6 O'Clock Saints, Scarey Monster, Johnny Action Figure), to local bands who made it big (Innerpartysystem), to the Big time acts ( Clutch and Faster Pussycat to date), there is something going on for everyone. Every night they are open they have live music of some sort. Whether it's acoustic sets on the patio, or a fully plugged show on the main stage, they don't disappoint. Sure, there may be a minimal cover charge most nights, but it goes to the bands that are playing. I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay a small cover for a live musician, than pay a bigger one somewhere else and all they have is a DJ. This place is a music lover's dream and it's right here in Reading! No need to drive to Philly to go to the Troc or other such venues. It's right at your door step. Drinks are more than reasonable and they have one of the best sound systems around the Tri-State area, straight up. And if you are worried about safety issues, don't fret. They have security inside, outside, on every side throughout every show. Just ask yourself these questions. Do you love live music just as much as I do? And always wished it was at a safe place, close to home? Then you owe it yourself, and everyone involved with Reverb a fair shake. You won't regret it. read more

First time and last time coming to this venue. Food and drinks were nice and not too overpriced. However the security, may as well not even exist. One individual was literally grabbing people by the throat and flinging them to the pavment, grabbing shirt collars and dragging people to the ground. Four people were harmed and had to be CARRIED out by the security due to being unconscious however they allowed him to continue to assault people throughout the night. They were acting as a clean up crew for this guy, they watched him do this many times and no action was taken. My party and I left before the final performance was finished because we had a guy ragdolled into us and injured my friends wrist, when telling the security as he picked the guy off the ground this moron was injuring people all night he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Beware the staff here won't keep you safe, never have I seen such negligence for people's safety by a "security" staff. read more

Reverb is what Reading, Pa has needed for a long time. All the talk of it being a bad part of town... You're mistaken. Reading isn't the prettiest city, but in saying so, are most cities 'best' venues in the nicest looking part of town? NE Reading, is by far the nicest side of the city. Located on a main street, half a block from the Pike Cafe, another fine establishment that never has problems with the surrounding neighborhood. Not to mention, both places have well-lit private parking lots. So, No matter how decrepit the area may look, there are no worries of anything happening. I can vouch for this. Born and raised in the city. Some may tell you, it's the former 1402. A trashy dance club, that was more of a blight, than anything. Reverb, by far, rises above 1402 in all aspects. The exterior may resemble the old club. But the renovated inside and the professionalism of the staff, exceeds and/or rivals most venues in Pennsylvania. If you pass up an opportunity to get to any event at Reverb, whether it be a concert in the main building or an open-mic night on the back patio, then you're missing out on a great atmosphere and a good time. Everything is priced reasonably well, Drinks, cover charge, and there is a small concession stand. If you're looking for a full dinner, check out the Pike Cafe, literally a half a blocks walk, then swing back over for that nights entertainment. Two of Reading, Pa's great establishments within a half block. Something that cannot be beat, and you will absolutely enjoy. Within the first couple months they've had multiple nationally known acts, and great aspiring local bands, as well. With plenty of room to accommodate for crowds of all sizes. More people from within the local area need to get aboard and represent the best local music venue there is. All in all, do yourself a favor and give Reverb a try. Regardless of location or preconceived negative notions. It is a great venue for Berks County, let alone Southeastern Pennsylvania. Went there last night for the "pnb rock" concert. Doors were suppose to open at 6. They didnt even start letting Vip until about 7-7:30. The whole concert was unknown aspiring rappers/ singers. When I finally got in it was just people playing music on stage. I paid $60 some dollars for two tickets for me along with everyone else in the crowd to be put on snap chat stories to make these unknown people seem lit. I watched the owner of this place grab a patron by the throat and yell and follow him around the parking lot, trying to start a fight. The reason was that said patron "kicked him in the face" but I also saw that this patron merely tapped a magazine he was reading in a light hearted manner. I think the staff is pleasant and there are some good bands that play here, but I will never give my money to the egotistical scumbag that owns this place. This was not a one time endeavor, either. He will not allow this kid to come back; a kid that just wants to support local music and have a good time with his friends. It's terrible to see such an attitude in the scene; this venue is just a paycheck for the owner he has no care for music, good times, and family. I won't be coming back here ever again. Recently went to a concert at Reverb. First and last time we'll ever be there. Concert was great. Concert advertised to begin at 8:00 so we arrived at 7:30. Doors opened at 8, concert didn't begin until 9:15 and the featured entertainment didn't go on until 10:00. Not as advertised!! Huddled in coats since there wasn't much heat. Sign for the ladies room was INSIDE the door and the bathroom was very poorly lit. Very uncomfortable to be in a darkened bathroom with a man using the facilities. Ok so I've been to this club a good amount of times for a lot of shows. The staff was all cool nd all that good stuff at first but it has really gone downhill. The place is nice but if u don't stand still nd watch the show ur out!!! Nd yes that means you too ladies, they don't care ur gender or size they will throw u out forcefully. A friend of mine who is a female, about 41/2- 5 ft tall nd maybe 100 lbs soaking wet got ripped outta the place by 5 grown ass men for really no good reason. Nd then throughout the rest of the night more nd more ppl just kept getting the boot for having a good time. Apparently there is no moshing permitted at this venue anymore. To be honest I think that the biggest reason for this change is their recent employment of Tom Taylor, if ur from the area nd you've been to the croc rock in Allentown you know who tom Taylor is. He now works at the reverb nd is known for basically being a total tool bag nd ruining everyone's good time, nd I think it's funny how this was a really cool place to go see a show until he got a job there. Also the owner, or at least the little guy that I was told was the owner is just as bad. I've seen him have ppl thrown out for no good reason nd start many fights with patrons including myself. Basically if u wanna have a good time nd enjoy ur show without being fucked with, this is not the place to go. Unless of course being thrown out with excessive force is ur idea of a good time. Go somewhere else, anywhere that's not full of these asshole would be better. I guess since Tom Taylor is no longer at the croc rock that place would now be a half decent experience. fuck you tom Taylor nd the rest of the staff at the reverb read more
