They also ran a dryer vent line for me, since our previous one vented out under our addition, which is definitely not what you want when you just got new insulation there.

When the technicians arrived for the installation, I was surprised to see vans labeled DiPietro Heating and Cooling. I was never given a choice to select a local HVAC contractor, and after reading reviews, I'm honestly shocked this company is still in business. The problems started less than a year after installation. In October 2024, I realized the heat wasn't working. Since it was still under the 1-year warranty, I called and a technician came to fix it. In April 2025, it failed again and I was charged $290 for service. Just two weeks later, another technician had to come back--this time, he discovered the thermostat wasn't even properly connected, a basic setup mistake that should've been caught during the install or first visit. Now, in mid-June, I tried to turn on the AC for the first time this season and it's not working again. When I called, I was told it would be another $200 for a service visit. This is a brand-new system, and I've had multiple issues in just six months. I no longer feel confident in their workmanship or diagnostic skills. It's frustrating to have paid for a new system and already be dealing with recurring issues and mounting service fees. I hope this review helps others ask more questions, especially if going through Mass Save or working with a consultant. If I had known the installer would be DiPietro, I would have asked for alternatives.

I explained that we had a cold side of the house, used a space heater in our bedroom ten hours a night. the Revise audit rep said that a heat pump would lower our heating costs. Let's start off. DiPietro Heating and Cooling is the guys who operate as Revise. They never told me, and at all times these guys showed up as Revise. The delayed product registration came back as Revise. I was provided with no plans and the one set of slides that said approved includes a minisplit in the basement which was never installed. No documentation, but I was told that 2 bedrooms and the bathroom (the cold side) was approved. I was told there would be a run through on the day of installation. November 11, 2024, The two techs who arrived to install the HVAC heat pump did no run through. They left with insulation on our floors, blowing from the ducts they installed, they left there things, exposed insulation in the intake and they handed me the three installation manuals. When I asked the technician a question, he said, "I don't know anything about these units." This is the guy who installed my unit! It was very clear the first night, the thermostat did not work properly. Even when set to 70 and the Nest thermometer read 72, 73 the unit continued to blast hot hot air at full blast. I would have to turn the thermometer down to 68, to turn the heat off. Complained. Told this was normal. In what world? My audit rep told me to play around with it. I did. I was able to lessen effects and save my electricity bill somewhat. A quick and easy read through the manuals and it was quickly apparent, they didn't install the unit according to spec. They needed to do a hard reset and reinstall the unit according to spec. I complained. They said the unit was operating fine. They placed the thermostat on the opposite side of the house from the rooms its serves. The thermometer on the heat pump thermostat, directly above our Nest for my gas heat, showed a consistent minus 2 degree variance. Remember heat rises, as it's above it could be expected a plus 2 degree variance. The thermostat was installed tilted and not level. I complained and complained. I reached out to the manufacturer. The unit wasn't registered. Finally, a month later, Revise (aka DiPietro) sent a tech back out, all he did was yell that everything was functioning normally, installed properly. He declared, the thermostat reads the same temperature as the Nest, while at that exact time, the thermostat showed the same minus 2 degree variance. He lied and ignored it. They installed an oversized vent in my bathroom. The installation suggested there was a smaller vent, the audit rep said they had one and could install it. But the argumentative Revise tech (or should I say DiPietro), said it didn't exist. On a couple of other concerns, he yelled at me more and then left. The heat pump was again performing as bad as when they installed it. I reviewed all that had happened, and sent two emails to the initial guy who did the assessment. He said he would forward it to a manager. Randy calls me up. "We will take care of you, now that it's in my hands." The following day, I returned his call and left him a voicemail. NEVER HEARD BACK. After the New Year, on the day I was to follow up with Randy, Revise reaches out by text with scheduling something. I tell the rep all how "in my hands" Randy, and she says, "text Randy." Not that she would follow up. I texted Randy. No response from him or anyone. My heating costs, (electric and gas combined) since installation have been up 20 percent that first month, and 15 percent since. Ehile the Heat pump thermostat set currently set to 68 reads 69, my cold rooms are 66 and 65. Costs up. Heat down. No answers. Don't use this company. I will take my complaints to the DTE, and legislators. This is a horrible company.

Some here have gone into detail as to how you can screw up a basic insulation job, so I won't repeat it. The number of screw ups and amateur work quality was more than I've ever seen in 30 years of home ownership and contractors work. The highlight: they core drilled through structural 2x4s inside the wall, under window framing. Who the F does that?! Everything from communications, to quality of work, to damages, to explanations, to billing / paperwork, slop/mess/clean up, it goes on. Ghosting communications to the office and field lead. Yes, they came back to fill in the various areas where they put NO insulation at all in several wall cavities...but, really, how do you just miss that unless you've been on the job for about a week. The only reason I got them to do that was I got a temperature gun that showed several places where it was a cold wall... They came with a IR image gun and verified various empty areas. What kind of training and qualification do they go through? and oh yea, one of the crew wanted to sit in my hallway for long periods of time, because his feet were very cold and he had nothing to do. When he was 'working' he was on his phone talking and texting non stop. I am not making this up. On each of two crews, there was one person of the three that was competent and able to communicate reasonably well, and two who were not. They meant well, but just not up to the task. Find a real insulation company with a real crew of adults.

We wanted to install a 1 or 2-zone system, but my condo has a number of unique complications, though, so we weren't able to go forward with the project at that time. Fast-forward a couple years, and we decided to revisit the idea. We also decided to go big or go home this time, with a 5-zone system for the whole house. This time we got estimates from two other companies first, but one provided an extremely high quote and the other basically said that we were asking an impossible job that they could not do. So we reached out to NETR again, and it worked out great. The NETR price was literally more than 10K less (!!!) than what we were quoted by the other company, and they took care of all the secondary project burdens like City of Somerville building permits, upgrading our electrical service, etc. They gave us a clear idea of what to expect in terms of construction disruption, the workers were friendly and unobtrusive, and they finished the work right on schedule. It's too early to speak with certainty about the quality of the system we installed, but we are thrilled to finally have this project complete, and are very satisfied with the pricing, service, and installation work.

Not only was I not provided with a written review of one of my furnaces (simply told I needed a new one), but in recommended service updates they suggested replacing a thermostat for a cost of over $500! ONE thermostat!! Of course I know I can get an excellent similar thermostat from MASS SAVE for around $5!! Second, after checking the second furnace, the technician did NOT replace the filter and did not leave a report. What's going on here? Feels like an attempt to not do a proper review and to rip off the installation of a new thermostat. I am VERY disappointed.

The owner of this insulation business has been doing business for 10 plus years. He was cordial and polite with his responses. Well let me tell you, I am glad I used fast insulation. Him and his team came in early today which was Saturday morning and knocked out the project in 4.5 hours. There workmanship was absolutely awesome and professional. I had them buy the insulation and products to do the job as this is there business and they know what to get and order based on the square footage. They got to my house and from beginning to end they never stopped working. I made them breakfast and brought it to them as they never stopped working and figured they deserved some good energy food to continue the good work ! There price was WAY better then any of the other companies. They took the job and showed up on time and completed the work. My attic was warm and cozy within hours of them leaving. Insulation is the way to go if you don't have it . I am sure my fuel bill will go right down now and my heat will stay in my house and not out . I research and price out anything I have to do to my house. This company truly will do a fantastic job ! I give them 5 stars 100 percent ! Again, all the other companies prices where way higher then any of the others. The bottom line is there work is neat and they come and do a professional job.
