I am not easy to trust medical professionals, but almost immediately upon meeting Pam I felt comfortable and confident that she had always my best interest at heart. She allowed my husband to come to sessions with me, skyped with me when we couldn't meet in person (and therefore got to know my pug!), and overall went above and beyond in every way. If finances would allow I would see Pam regularly forever - fortunately in our two years together she has brought me to a place where I can be independent and only need to come in once and a while to check in. This is enormous progress for me, and I genuinely don't think anyone else could have gotten me there. When I first went to see her, I was a wreck health-wise - mentally and physically. Every nutritionist or eating disorder program I went to before I found Pam denied me because I wasn't "actively" sick - because somehow self awareness about your issues cancels out the need for help - even if you don't know how to get truly healthy on your own. I found Pam on a whim through a google search. Her friendly picture made me feel comfortable (no surprise there, after knowing her for two years I practically feel like we're related), so I gave her a call and the rest is history. Pam is a highly educated professional who is incredibly smart, warm, and lovely - and she's up to date on the goings on in terms of contemporary food politics AND trends in healthy eating. Basically, she's also really cool. Like I said, I would see Pam every other week forever if it was up to me based on feeling secure - but every baby bird needs to be pushed out of the nest at some point in order to truly be successful. With Pam's help I have lost a large amount of weight, but more importantly I finally think about food and nutrition in a healthy manner - which I cannot say was true for my entire adult life until working with her.
