I'm in the home-buying process and was interested in a licensed electrician to perform an…read moreelectrical safety inspection of the house I'm purchasing. Reaching out to this business was straight-forward, I emailed them and a kind woman called me by phone to setup an appointment. With any questions that she didn't know the answer to, she redirected me to email it so an electrician can better answer my question. I had my appointment scheduled and the gentleman, Doc, was assigned to perform the inspection. Doc arrived on-time, was detail oriented in his inspection, and was very patient to explain his findings and recommendations on what were a safety concern first, and what could be addressed later. He explained things over the phone thoroughly and explained his thought process and was open to any questions I had without being annoyed. Within a day, I received his inspection report, a quote for the project/repairs needed, and pictures of the inspection. He was also easy to reach by text. Doc was professional, courteous, and responsive. The cost of the inspection, I think, was a decent value. I highly recommend Veteran Electric to anyone seeking a safety electrical inspection and I hope I'm able to say the same about their quality of work when I hire them for electrical projects. Give this gentleman a raise.

He took my call after hours, put me on the schedule for the morning. Gave me a heads up on his way, came on time. Superb communication. Will continue to use his service for all my future needs.

I'm a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. I hired Gilbert because I suffer from…read morevertigo attacks and could not climb the ladder at roof level. I hired him to install Govee permanent lights for the holidays. I contacted him early in November. The first bell rang when I was told he wouldn't be available till after Thanksgiving. But Geo Electrical had good reviews, so I had no reason not to trust them. I waited. In early December Geo finally came to install the lights. I provided the lights, the splitters and over 50' of extensions with compatible connectors. I also provided detailed diagrams on how and where to install the lights, so that no splicing would be necessary. (You are not supposed to cut and splice these lights). Geo disregarded my directions and cut and spliced the lights. Well, he's an electrician, I thought, he probably had done it before. I had to come outside and supervise him most of the time to make sure he does what he is supposed to. He charged $400.00 for the job. That night I noticed that the end string of lights that runs over my garage flickered intensely, whereas other lights were steady. See videos. I contacted Geo and was told he's booked all week and the next and then out of town till New Year. He did everything possible to get out of it. He told me to buy an amplifier (did not work). He told me it's not an electrical problem, but the length of the lights wiring is over 100' (which is nonsense, my set is only 100' and one string was left unused. 25' of extensions also left unused and controller supports 150 feet.) Then finally he conceded that it might be his connections in drop (see photo) that were loose and agreed to stop by and check those.. Next Year. So Next Year came and guess what? He is booked till January 26th. And then he told me that I'd have to pay extra money to fix it! When I said no, he wished me good luck! Just an unscrupulous guy who does not stand behind his work and evidently does not care about his reputation. Good Luck!

I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.

I cannot say enough great things about Eric and Girl Dad Solutions. I originally had another…read moreelectrician come out to install outlets throughout my house, but I later noticed that shortcuts were taken during the installation and the wrong size wiring was used for some of the outlets. After seeing Eric's outstanding reviews on Thumbtack, I reached out to him to see if he could help clean up the previous electrician's work. After experiencing his service firsthand, I completely understand why he is so highly praised. Eric responded extremely quickly on Thumbtack and even offered to come out the same day to assess what was needed. He provided a very reasonable quote and retuned a couple days later when I was free to complete the work. In addition to fixing the previous issues, he also helped with additional projects including recessed lighting and switch installations. Eric was professional, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He allowed me to observe his work and took the time to explain everything step by step, which I truly appreciated. He clearly explained the shortcuts some electricians take versus how things should actually be done according to code. If you need any electrical work done, I would not hesitate for a second to contact Eric. I can personally attest to the quality of his work, his professionalism, and the value he provides. Thank you, Girl Dad Solutions!

I have had him mount TVs, install projectors with the screen that comes down with a remote, he's fixed my fence after the recent tornado in Dec '24, he smart homes every one of my properties saving me thousands monthly. I have so many pictures of the endless properties he's mounted artwork, hung mirrors, put together couches from ikea, installed huge chandeliers, his wife has even come into a few of my properties and interior designed the property too to bottom. This man has integrity and will never over charge you. Some jobs I over tip because his pricing is so low compared to the price quotes I've received. He really is a girl dad so sometimes his daughter has accompanied him on certain tasks on weekends. I have a daughter so they play together and have really grown to be friends. His daughter is very well mannered and super smart. She's made my daughter more interested in STEM stuff. Overall, this guy is super trustworthy, he knows his stuff about electrician work. He will climb through your attic to do something correctly in the Texas summer heat. If you're looking to hire a trustworthy, dependable electrician, he is your guy.
