The amount of compliments I got was unreal. I was lucky enough to have Dan sand and stain another home for us. Dan brought the wood back to life. The wood floors made the house look immediately 20 yrs younger. Dan works neatly and quickly. He isn't the type to give you a price and then things come up and you are now 3k higher then the original price. When we raised concerns, the response repeatedly came back to "the contract" rather than what had actually been discussed and promised during the sales process. My advice to anyone considering them is to get every single detail in writing. Most disappointing was the professionalism. At one point, language was used about having other clients with "real money" to deal with. That is simply not the kind of language or attitude you expect from a professional contractor speaking to a paying customer. They did attempt to come back and correct some of the work, but even that left items unfinished. Overall, a very disappointing experience and one where the sales promises were far stronger than the execution.

He gave me what I considered to be a fair price per square foot (based on my research of average pricing for wood floor refinishing) over the phone and was able to meet me that same day to get exact measurements. He was very accommodating to my schedule understanding that I wasn't currently living in the apartment and needed some extra travel time. The meeting was efficient and painless. He asked all the right questions and did not waste my time. He took down my email address and told me that he would email me the estimate. I needed this job to be done asap and he assured me that he could start the work on Monday and be done in 2 days. Sure enough later that evening he sent me the estimate via email. Richard was the only person to send me estimated costs in advance, provide me with images to consider finishes before hand. He was on time to the initial site meeting to take measurements and provide a detailed estimate. He was approachable, replied to emails quickly and gave me a sense of confidence that won him the job. I eliminated one company for missing the initial meeting (he called to say he'd be 2 hours late - this is unacceptable to me). I had them remove a partial wall, patch what was left over, and sand and refinish the floors. The guys on the site were great, punctual and reliable. They provided on site samples of the finishes for me to make a selection. (I would ask for this in advance if you want to see multiple colors/tones). The job took 4 days from start to finish, and was completed on time, as promised. Richard's price was competitive and the work was well done. They were respectful and listened to my concerns, described the work in detail and let me know what they would work on each day. I feel confident in recommending them to anyone. I will consult them again when I am ready to do more work. They are great.
