He's not going to talk to you about seven different hinge options or five different degrees to which a drawer can be sanded (I didn't even know there were multiple interior sanded options...and WTH?...doesn't sanded mean sanded?). My three vanities were delivered on schedule (for fear I'll put them in a bad position, I'll refrain from telling you how fast they made these vanities). All three are solid, specs are perfect, and painted to perfection. I was so pleased I I also asked Sweetwater to overhaul my dining room cabinetry. This is what I know: Michael is a gem. His guys are equally as fantastic. They answer the phone. They return emails. They show up when they say they'll show up. Imagine! I got exactly what I wanted for my home (within budget!) and didn't compromise on build quality. No matter if you're replacing or refacing...whatever, this is who gets the job. They were less than the reface estimate (stay tuned for a scathing review of that schiester company). They were less than two other cabinet company's bids. And, I know I not only got a better product but better customer service as a whole.

Both were done as what we had heard about Pinocchio Furniture Restoration - the work was done by true craftsmen. They didn't just "do it" what they did was to "do it RIGHT." It's only about 30 mins from our house in Petaluma. The challenge is FINDING the place the first time. I think that using Apple or Google maps needs to be accented by talking to the folks at Pinocchio to find out how to do it. we just followed Google, but didn't get there and had to ask a worker working outside his place of business and said we took the wrong driveway. And when we did that we saw a sign that pointed to where Pinocchio was. We had a good laugh! And didn't have a problem when we returned to pick up the chair!

The first was additional kitchen cabinets, bookshelf and a wainscoting wall to connect them. He matched the rest of the cabinetry so that it looked like they had always been there. Next he made a beautiful built-in, long, side board or buffet in my living room. I was blown away by his detailed approach and the high quality of his product. Next he built custom cabinetry for my master bathroom. He also changed the trim work on the doors to keep and match the consistency of the look matching the multiple new cabinets. Most recently he helped me get both my home office and Hobby/Art room to be more efficient and organized by adding fold out drawing boards and additional drawers. Glen listens to client concerns - including cost control - and has a great sense for what will and will not work in proposed designs. He's a very nice guy who went so far as to invite me to his shop to help select which piece of cherry plywood I'd like to see on each cabinet and on a handmade desk, an hour that included a discussion of where tight and wide grain would be most appropriate. Another plus is his use of first-rate Blum hinges that self-close very smoothly. Woodencraft's prices for custom work are not cheap but they are fair and quite competitive. Where this outfit really shines is in the quality and timeliness of the work and Glen's responsiveness to client concerns.

Mark and his team just removed 5 rooms of old carpeting and replaced it with high end 'luxury…read morevinyl' plank intended to 'match' some existing flooring in other rooms in the house. Although I'm not a fan of faux wood, the real wood options are just too expensive now. Removing the carpet presented some challenging problems (walls built on top of the carpet edges and carpet glued to stairs). And there were unexpected bad subfloor issues that Mark had to deal with. Mark also recommended replacing all the mismatched baseboards for a uniform look and I am so glad he did. The end result....floors and baseboards... was much better than I anticipated. And the additional charges for unanticipated additional time were very fair. The positive reviews for Golden Oak Flooring are well deserved.
