The crew at Cabinet Outlets in Santa Rosa did a fantastic job. After soliciting input from four kitchen cabinet and countertop providers, I decided on these guys. Smart choice. They provided the most creative solution, their turnaround time was the best (and they came in under their estimate), their service mentality and willingness to work with you on a challenging 'build' was outstanding, and, they were the most reasonably priced. My project was a garage conversion into an in-law unit, hence space was at a premium, especially around the sink and dishwasher island, and their suggestion to place one upper cabinet on top of another turned out perfectly (right side of picture). And the countertop that they aided in selecting is the perfect match with the rest of the unit (per these totally unbiased eyes). I did the installation myself, but they were super helpful when I had a couple of follow-up items that needed optimizing. However, while I have nothing but superlatives for Cabinet Outlets, it's perhaps the friendliness and folksy tone of the family operated outfit and the manner in which they transact business that impressed me the most, and that is what will drive me back to Piner Road next time I'm doing a home improvement project. We got our Quartz countertops from the Cabinet Outlet and just love how they turned out. They were able to cut the slabs to accommodate my desire for a waterfall feature at the end of the cabinet facing the dining room. They were helpful when picking out the Quartz and providing insight into lighting and original cabinet colors to blend with the specific Quartz we wanted. Our contractor dealt with them regarding everything else so not sure about price and customer service as we were only there for an hour but waited months to complete the kitchen. read more

I used these guys a while back. I have hesitated to write a review, because I do not tend to write negative reviews. At first they were helpful, and their prices seemed fair. However, they had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They did not show up for several appointments, including times I had to arrange to be at home to meet them. We also had to make several adjustments to the cabinets they did finally deliver. The worst part though was there was an issue with billing. They accidentally quoted us the wrong price because they had done their math wrong. I understood, but asked if there was any compromise, considering we were going to have to spend more than we expected. In response, I was yelled at for questioning them (I see on another review I am not the first to experience this). No apology for the issue, and I was treated poorly as a customer. DON'T GO HERE! THEY DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS. Walked into the showroom after happening to see their sign while down the street at Lumber Liquidators. Manny was very nice in person, and gave us lots of good information. After a couple of weeks, we called to set an appointment for him to come to our new home to measure and get us an estimate. Manny was about 15 minutes late showing up, but said he got lost and was super apologetic, so no big deal. He told us he'd have the estimate to us by the weekend, but it ended up taking about 2 weeks for him to get us any numbers. Again, in and of itself, not a huge deal. The numbers looked good, so I ended up calling Manny to set an appointment to finalize the design and get things ordered. We set an appointment for the Saturday after Christmas at 2 pm. The store was supposed to be open from 10-5PM. After driving all the way to Santa Rosa from Petaluma, we arrived to a store that was marked as closed, despite the hours on the window clearly stating they should be open, and even their updated "holiday hours" showing they would be closed only Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And remember, we had an appointment set for this day. I called and left a voicemail and emailed Manny and have still not gotten a response. Not an apology, not an attempt to reschedule, nothing. Apparently the people at Cabinet Outlet are so busy that they don't need my business and don't feel any need to keep their appointments. I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere to someone who wants and appreciates it. read more

GOOD PRICES! LESS THAN GOOD QUALITY CONTROL! LESS THAN GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE My experience with The Cabinet Outlet is both good and not so good. Their prices are fair and I think as long as nothing goes wrong, customers will be satisfied with their product. It's in the areas of construction quality control and customer service that they fall very short. At first I was pleased with the Cabinet Outlet. Jeremy and his staff were pleasant and helpful. Jeremy helped me with the design and layout. He was very fast and efficient. Compared to higher quality cabinets such as Kraft Maid, the price was affordable and the quality was actually better than expected....plus we have the expense of two kitchens in a pair of duplexes to remodel......so we opted to order from The Cabinet Outlet. The cabinets arrived in a timely manner and The Cabinet Outlet helpfully stored them until our remodel was ready for installation. So far. So good. Then the problems started. Several cabinets were the wrong size, some of the drawer glides were installed crooked, one or two drawer fronts did not line up and one of the base cabinets was a different cabinet entirely! Subsequently, we learned that the cabinets are shipped broken down and assembled at the shop. They missed several opportunities to catch these mistakes before they reached the consumer! I was amazed that they assembled, stored and delivered the cabinets without ever checking the order for accuracy !!!!! My installer was able to creatively overcome all of the problems except the wrong base. The Cabinet Outlet re-ordered the correct base. I was satisfied with the way the problems were handled and considering the savings, I was willing to accept minor delays and correctable mistakes. Then we hit a snag which so far has not been resolved. The cabinet design by Jeremy included a peninsula. The back of the peninsula facing the dining area requires a matching finish panel. First the veneer panel was missing. When the panel arrived two weeks later, it was at least three shades lighter than the cabinets. They re-ordered. Two weeks later when the panel arrived, it was still the wrong color.....not even close! At that point, their attitude changed from helpful to tactless. In fact, we were told my Manny that the sides and other panels could not be matched exactly and that if we had wanted "that kind of quality, we should have purchased more expensive cabinets".....not an attitude to inspire customer confidence. So far The Cabinet Outlet has not resolved the panel issue in a timely or professional manner. This is not my first trip to the rodeo. I am a designer. This is not my first kitchen design, but it is the first one with so many quality and finish problems with the cabinets. I realize that the plywood parts of cabinets take the stain differently than the solid parts of the cabinets.....but I also know that they can be closely matched. In fact, the side panel stain on our cabinets is a good match to the fronts, so there is no reason why the back panel can't be matched within acceptable limits. I don't believe I am asking for too much regardless of price. I don't appreciate the excuses and the attitude, so I am giving them a very low rating until I see when, how and if they resolve this issue. If they eventually come through for us on the panel problem, I am willing to adjust my review to a higher rating. However, which ever way it goes, we will not be using The Cabinet Outlet for our second kitchen remodel. read more

What a disappointment! When we first went in, we were told we could order any bathroom vanity in any finish. Then we found out that there are only a few finish options for each cabinet manufacturer. They asked us which end would be open to the room. It was delivered to us UNFINISHED with a huge piece we were to cut to size and put on ourselves. If we would have known that, we would have bought a finished cabinet elsewhere. Also, the Shaker style looks good BUT the DRAWERS WOBBLE on a single track instead of the double side tracks the manufacturer should have used. I would not recommend this business OR the Shaker style cabinets/vanity. read more

We recently did a kitchen remodel on a rental property. After shopping around, we selected The Cabinet Outlet, for quality, price and most importantly, the promise to keep to schedule. Our property was not vacant, and we wanted to keep the inconvenience to our tenants as low as possible. We also got the granite countertops from Jeremy, and used the contractor that he recommended, Casey Caldwell. It all worked perfectly. The whole remodel, with extensive demolition and repair, took just 12 days. Jeremy and Casey got everything done exactly as planned, and we love the way it looks. Cabinet Outlet is not what it used to be! They started off strong but their low prices are now reflected in their quality. Customer service is non existent these days and the business is full of empty promises. You thought waiting for the cable guy was bad these guys blow off customer appointments as if they don't want your business. The cabinets are imported from China which is fine but sizes are limited. Quality is the same as online cabinet stores like Cabinet Giant which is less expensive. Cabinet Outlet contracts with a stone installer who is extremely fast at cutting and polishing your counter tops in fact a little too fast. Two counter tops in less then two hours equals poor quality cuts and polishing. He does all the work free hand which is great if you don't mind wavy cuts and rough surfaces. Not to mention the marred surface he cant polish back to factory after he has scarred it up. Just don't expect your counters to look like their showroom samples and you wont be overly disappointed. My advice, go in with your eyes wide open. read more

Jeremy and his team are reliable, responsive, and professional. They came to our house and helped us layout our kitchen and discussed our options. They made measurements for our kitchen and returned in a timely manner to install our beautiful new cabinets and countertops. We had a particular request for a peninsula that we wanted in our kitchen and even though it isn't something commonly done Jeremy and his foreman Corey made it happen.We absolutely love the way our kitchen turned out!! Nightmare experience. It took 25 days from the installment date, Manny had one excuse after another why they can't come. He said he would come on 3 Sundays in a row, but never came or called. Finally showed up at 5:30 PM and did some installation and again at 7:30 AM to do some more. Two days later they installed the cabinets, one hits the ceiling light, he said he would fix it but never did. I finally hired a handyman to finish the job and fix the mistakes. read more

Do not go here. They do not want your business. My husband originally called to get new cabinets for our kitchen. Manny was recommended by a friend, so we thought "great, we'll be in good hands". Not the case at all. My husband and manny talked on the phone and then set up a date to meet in person to go over everything. Manny told my husband 7:30am. Manny showed up an hour late and arrived at 8:30am. At the meeting he was very friendly and seemed as if he cared. Told my husband that he will be out at our house to measure everything at 10:30am the next day. He called at 10:30am saying he'd be leaving in 20 minutes. Got to our house around 11:30am. Did not apologize for being late. Measures everything and tells us to come by the showroom later that day to sit down with the design consultant. We told we had to stop at prosource down the street to check out flooring, he said "perfect" his design guy wasn't going to be there until later anyway. He then left and called my husband around 1:45pm and told him the design will be ready in a couple of hours and to come down. At 3:30pm we drive over to the shop and no one is there? Closed signs on the windows, lights off, doors locked. We tried calling him numerous times as he gave us his personal cell phone as well as text'd him. We never heard a word. Mind you we have a 2 year old and came down from Windsor to waste the afternoon on a Saturday when we could of been looking at other cabinet shops! Done with this place. Done with Manny. The quality of the cabinets was good but everything else was a nightmare. The delivery was late and the drivers didn't bother to apologize but actually complained the entire time. The cabinets were suppose to come with soft close but they didnt. They sent a young kid (20 or 21) out to put the soft close on but they were all installed improperly. The drawers went back on cockeyed and some were not closing properly. We tried to speak with the installer but he got flustered and said that putting back was not his reaposibility. I called Manny and complained to him. He said that wasn't his problem, there must have been a problem with the install. Mind you, all of the drawers and doors were fine when before the soft close went on. Manny later called my wife and accused us of yelling at his installer, which never happened. Then he came to the house to check the work and started accusing me of yelling at the installer which again never happened. I almost had to throw him out of my house. He finally backed down when I told him he was going to have to refund me my money. He was a complete jerk. The only other good thing I can say is his installers for the counter tops did a great job. He was supposed to send someone back to fill in the missing piece of counter for the window sill and to realign the cabinet doors and drawers but never did and it's been a year with no word from him. I had someone else come in and level everything out and even then some things still don't line up exactly right. They were so far off the hardware could not be adjusted to line everything up. There were several small lies they were caught in such as where certain parts were located and why people didn't show up. It was obvious when the employees gave differantly stories than Manny. I am pretty sure it was Manny lying by I guess poor communication could be possible either way I can't believe this place is still in business. I waited a year to post this intentionally. I thought by waiting a year I would be more calm about the post and be fair. I still strongly believe we were wronged by this company so with that said, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS THEY TELL YOU THEY FIRED MANNY and properly trained their other staff. read more

Not very reliable! We went into store to look at options, I called a few days later on a Tuesday (they are closed Sun/Mon) got voice mail and left a message asking them to call so I could set up appt. Never got a call that day, stopped into store again on Wednesday to set up in home measure for following Wednesday. My husband stopped in on Saturday to reconfirm and yes we were on the schedule. Wednesday came and went they never showed or called. Unfortunately when I called them it was after 5 (our appt was for 4:30) and it went to voice mail. Thursday I got a call that 'they were supposed to meet us the day before', yes they were! I was told they had on one schedule for Wed and one for Thurs. I would give them a 0 if I could! Went to their store and thought it seemed too good to be true... well it really was. The prices were good they seemed nice but they didn't show up to verify measurements - TWICE! I had basically planned on using them after seeing the cabinets and they provided an estimate for cabinets, countertops and installation for just $10k. They just had to come over and do the final measurements. I had an apt at 1:00 and Manny didn't show up so I called at 2:00. He said they were short staffed in the office and when I said it would have been nice if he at least called he basically said he forgot about our apt. He said he could come at 4:30 that day. Well... he never showed up or called and that was a week ago... I called the owner today and he didn't really sounded like he cared... sad I guess they don't need the money to stay in business... I feel more space should be provided than what's given here to write this adequately... this place is hit or miss, unfortunately I had many misses. The guy who says he will come measure etc, I believe his name Manny, promises more than he can provide. Multiple reschedules later, finally got my kitchen and bathroom measured. Great, NOT! had issues once I finally did receive the cabinets. So some skinny kid who appears as if he hasn't showered or slept in months shows up to fix some things. NO THANK YOU!! Is this really who you hire to represent your company!? And then when you call to complain or get resolution you deal with the rude so called owner. I honestly don't know how they're still in business. Oh wait, it gets better... I find out after wards that the "custom cabinets" they're building aren't custom at all, but ordered from some supplier in china.
